Just got a very unlikely idea but oh well

Steddie AU where they get together cause of Mike.

It’s post-s3 pre-s4 maybe or post-s4 with Alive-Eddie; either way, Steve and Eddie are constantly around each other because of the kids.

And it’s Mike that realizes it first, when he notices that Steve looks at Eddie like how he used to look at Nancy. And yes he would know, Dustin, because he was forced to learn what knocking was after walking in on them one too many times.

But really, Mike doesn’t want to believe it. Because why would Steve be looking at Eddie like that? Adoration Mike can understand— what about Eddie wouldn’t you adore? But unconditional romantic love? He didn’t get it.

Not because they were both guys! Mike was in no place to make any remarks about that. Not anymore. But because they were so different from each other.

Mike was there during every Hellfire meeting when Eddie went on rampages about “King Steve”. He was there at the sleepovers when Steve would utter under his breath about “Asshole Metalheads”. He was there when Steve and Eddie finally met for the first time outside of school, when Steve was picking them up for Hellfire, and Steve looked ready to kill when Eddie brought up “Losing the Crown.”

And sure, Mike may seem oblivious and aloof and “give no fucks” most of them time, but really it wasn’t true! Ok— maybe the oblivious part. But he didn’t “give no fucks”— he has a lot of fucks to give, actually.

And sure maybe he doesn’t seem to care about most things. But he does! A lot more than he should sometimes. He cared when Nancy and Steve first broke up (maybe not for Steve’s side until he knew the full story but still). He cared when Barb died (she was his friend to, maybe not as close as her and Nancy but still!). And he cared when Max got dragged into everything. And he cared when Hopper “died”— and sure, maybe he stopped trying to care after that. Because caring got him hurt in more ways than one.

But Steve and Eddie? They’re things he cares about. People he cares about a lot more than he cares to admit. Steve saved his life on more than one occasion and showed him more affection in a month than Ted Wheeler did in Mikes whole life. And Eddie was the one of the first to show Mike that “hey, it’s ok to be a nerd.”

So yeah, they mean a lot to him.

But them being romantically together makes no sense to him. And when he tries to bring this up to the rest of the Party, he was told he was insane.

“Steve and Eddie aren’t interested in each other romantically,” claimed Dustin, “They’re just friends.”

“Not even that,” called Max from the couch.

Lucas snorted but otherwise said nothing.

Mike looked at Will for help.

“Well— why do you think they are romantically involved?”

Mike huffed. “Do none of you guys see it? Steve might as well have heart eyes!”

El nodded. “I agree. Mike is right.”

Suddenly all eyes were on El. Mikes were shining with hope and everyone looked incredulous.

“But why?” Dustin asked exasperatedly. “They’re— they’re nothing alike!”

“I know!” shouted Mike. He stood and paced. “But Steve always looks so fond of Eddie! And we’ve all heard the typical “King Steve” rant from Eddie and the “Asshole Metalheads” one from Steve, right?”

Max, Dustin and Lucas all answered with a unified “yes” while El and Will answered with a unified “no”.

Mike waved his hand and continued to pace. “But maybe it’s an opposites attract kind of thing? Like Max and Lucas?”

“Excuse me?”

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

“Or maybe it’s not! Because nothing about them is really opposite other than their styles.”

“But—“ Dustin was quick to interrupt, “—they are pretty opposite. Jock and Metalhead? Seems pretty fucking twisted to me.”

“Yeah but you’re looking at the cliques,” Will added, finally catching on. “Mikes looking at personality.”

Mike clapped happily. “Yes exactly! They’re both bitchy and quick-witted! They’re both dramatic in their own ways—“

“—they’re both oddly parental and protective,” added Lucas, also catching on.

Mike nodded aggressively.

“Ok—“ Max shook her head. “—say we believe that Steve and Eddie actually are romantically interest in one another. What are we supposed to do about it?” she put extra emphasis on “we”.

Mike looked at them each one by one. Max, who was sprawled on the couch like she owned it. Lucas, who had Max’s legs in his lap and was gently rubbing her thigh. Dustin, who was sat in a chair at the end of the couch with his thinking face on. El, who was looking at Mike with a sly grin— an expression he rarely saw on her. And Will, who was looking at Mike with something like Steve to Eddie.

But none of that right now.

Dustin stood up and walked to stand by Mike. He threw an arm around his shoulders (Mike bending with the action) and loudly proclaimed “We need to get them together!”

Will stood hurriedly and joined them, El right behind him with a grin on her face. Lucas shrugged and looked to Max as if saying “what can you do?” before gently pushing her legs off of him joining them as well.

They all looked at Max expectantly. She groaned and stood to join them, a chorus of cheers ringing out.

Werewolf AU wherein Jonathan was Expecting King Steve to be the Worlds Worst Alpha Wolf and got a Total Mom Instead

This is Werewolves not A/B/O (no a/b/o involved, think more like the paranormal romance smut that inspired Twilight. Two alphas and one Omega to a pack type of deal and its decided on dominance/other shit.) 

Hungry Verse Werewolf AU that takes place S2 and S3  before Eddie shows up. 

Jonathan's shy.

Has always been shy, and will likely remain shy, at least around large crowds of people. He's socially awkward, has never been good at making friends, doesn't really care too much about his clothes and is poor, so even if he wasn't shy, socializing wasn't likely to have gone in his favor anyway. 

He knows it takes a while for him to warm up to others. Nancy was something of a one off, the two of them brought together by his own admittedly shitty actions, his brother's disappearance and an interdimensional monster. 

He fully expects it to be different around Steve. 

Particularly since Jonathan, as their Pack’s of three’s most submissive werewolf, automatically gets the spot of Omega Wolf. Not that he isn’t suited for it, he’d be marked as Omega with his abilities regardless. 

It was a point of contention between himself and Lonnie for years.

Jonathan just-doesn’t see the use in posturing. 

Fighting.

 Acting like a fucking moron over dumb shit. 

What he did not expect was for Steve Harrington, Alpha Werewolf and jock douchebag, to try and mother him. 

"Byers, where the hell is your coat!? It's freezing out here!" Steve huffs one afternoon, appearing out of nowhere and making Jonathan jump. 

He'd been waiting outside the arcade, leaning against his clunker of a car for Will and friends to finish their last round of games. Had perhaps been waiting longer than he should have, just happy to let his little brother be a kid. 

“I-what-" Jonathan stumbles over his words before regaining ground and protesting, "I'm wearing a coat?"

Steve rakes his eyes over him, hands on his hips. "That is a jacket. It is absolutely not warm enough for you to hang around outside in." 

Jonathan's mouth pops open, words on his tongue but Steve's already turned around and trotted back to his car. 

He opens the hood and digs around for a minute, before making a pleased noise and returning, holding something victoriously in his hand. 

It's a medium weight hoodie with the zipper down the front, Hawkins Swim Team blazed across the back above a snarling tiger. 

Steve holds it out to him. 

Jonathan looks between him and it, before hesitantly reaching out to accept.  

The packbond hums happily with Steve's pleasure, a feeling totally alien to Nancy's own. Hers had always been about some answer he'd gotten right, or when he'd said something particularly clever or poetic, the pleased, happy feeling of a kiss on his cheek. 

Steve's…Jonathan almost can't pin down the exact feeling of Steve's. His mind supplies the images of warm maple syrup and a fuzzy blanket, then tries to combine the two.

Fails and leaves him confused. 

"Put that on over your jacket, should at least help you stay warm." Steve instructs, and Jonathan really, really wants to say no, that this is ridiculous, Will is coming out any minute, but-

He doesn't want to.

Does not want to look too hard as to why Steve is somehow harder to displease than Nancy is. 

Finds himself putting the stupid jacket on, refusing to look Steve in the face as he does so. 

Is very annoyed by the sheer happiness radiating off his Alpha (and maybe at the own blush rising up in his cheeks, the result of his embarrassment.) 

"Steeeeve!" 

That's Dustin, tearing out of the arcade. The pack of children follow him, with Mike and Will bringing up the rear. 

They chatter at Steve for a moment, before the group splits, the Dustin-Lucas-Max trio diving into Steve's car and the Mike-El-Will trio going into his. 

Steve claps a hand on his shoulder, saying "See you Byers!" 

Mike's nose crinkled up as Jonathan got into the driver's seat. 

"Why do you smell like Steve?" He whines. 

Which is the worst moment to realize that not only does he smell like Steve, but his wolf likes it. 

"Shut up Mike."

Steve Harrington has changed from the guy Jonathan punched out. 

Not completely. Jonathan still see’s glimpses of the forever cool, waspish King Steve coming through now and then. Those moments are few and far between though, particularly now that he led a Werewolf Pack, 

At their core, an Alpha Werewolf was a provider. 

Steve, it seemed, absolutely delights in doing just that. 

Nancy had already growled at him twice over for it and at first Jonathan hadn’t registered that’s what it was about. 

Thought Steve was back to courting Nancy and was gearing up his own discussion with his girlfriend about how they wanted to handle it-until Steve pulled the same shit with him. 

“I know you said you could make your own lunch but I had extras.” Steve says, handing a brown paper bag to Nancy one morning, apparently having been roped into driving Henderson to school. 

Jonathan’s schooled his face into a blank mask, letting his girlfriend handle this the way she wants too-and thus misses the second brown bag until it’s shoved in his face. 

“Um.” He says. 

It has his name on the side in Steve’s scrawl. There’s even a little smiley face in the middle of the O. 

“Uh.” He says again, startled, but Steve’s already got his back to them, throwing a wave over his shoulder. 

“Have a good one guys!” He calls, as he heads off to his own class. 

Entirely out of his depth, Jonathan turns to Nancy for help. 

She just stares at Steve’s retreating back, a look on her face that says she's deep in thought. 

“What did you get in yours?” She asks him later, at lunch, holding up her chocolate pudding. 

“Vanilla pudding.” He says, the only different part of his meal to hers.

He had to hand it to Harrington. The guy made a seriously wicked meal. 

“Hmm. Trade me?” She asks with a smile, holding up her pudding. 

Grinning, Jonathan does.

Big fan of Billy being super strong. Like, stronger than he looks, and he looks strong.

Headcanons and au’s where he’s disabled in some aspect after s3 are so near and dear to my heart, but I also take guilty pleasure in making him an unstoppable force sometimes. Just. Billy being built like a fucking bear, but also having learned to embrace his softer side again through his partner, because he is soft somewhere in there. Always has been.

Not to say that he doesn’t still get angry.

Maybe a few years later after he graduates and is settled into an apartment with Steve (or Eddie, Jonathan, Argyle, etc.), he has more of a rapport with the party. He’s not necessarily ruffling Dustin’s hair or giving Will the gay talk, but he’s around them and they don’t mind each other. He has playful banter with Max and maybe he even finds himself shooting hoops with Lucas every now and again.

He’s friendly with these kids, long story short. So when something happens like Troy Walsh and James follow Dustin on his way over to meet up at the apartment for D&D, because Steve and Billy let the party host there sometimes, Billy gets rightfully pissed.

Catches the kids out on his lawn, Dustin pinned on his back as Troy hovers over him and all of the other kids are screaming. He yells, sharp and quick and stomps over, just in time to startle Troy back before he’s able to land even a single punch. Steve is in the background trying to help Dustin to his feet and check for any injuries while Billy just fucking glares at this kid.

“Get lost,” Billy says.

Squares his shoulders and stands his ground, firmly placed between Troy and Dustin.

The kid looks scared. He swallows, takes a careful step back after he seems to assess that Billy is less of an angry parent and more of an impatient (and reckless) older brother. But then he smirks and reaches over to smack James’ arm.

“Sorry,” he muses. “Didn’t realize the fag brigade were official nerd protectors.”

Somewhere behind Billy, Steve drops Dustin as he’s attempting to help him to his feet, quickly scrambling to grab his hand again and hoist him up. Because he knows something that even Billy himself apparently doesn’t.

The blond is nice now. Downright pleasant to be around, even. He’s worked like hell to get here and he prides himself on being reformed. On being better than he used to be.

Something in his brain switches off. Steve sets a hand on his shoulder and Billy shrugs it off, taking a large stride forward and snatching the collar of Troy’s shirt. He doesn’t really think as he does it. Yanks him forward and grabs his thigh, and hoists him up into the air, kicking and screaming to no avail.

Like this kid weighs nothing at all.

James has retreated to the curb, yelling to put him down, put him down!

But Billy doesn’t budge. He merely bends his elbows and lowers Troy just enough to get their faces close.

In this blinding, white hot rage as brilliant as the glare off of a windshield in summer, Billy can’t even get the words out. Clenches his jaw. Unclenches. Fights the urge to throw this kid straight into the fucking sun.

Then he hears Steve behind him again, ushering the kids back and towards the house.

As silly as it is, that’s what breaks him. Hearing Steve’s voice, the man he loves, simply talking. Being naturally good as Steve always has been without trying — he can put on a show of playing the supreme bitch, but it falls flat somewhere in the delivery. Always.

Because he’s sweet and kind and he cares so much and he doesn’t deserve to be called that word. That horrible, horrible word that Billy has come to hate.

But he’s never hated it like he does right now. Not when it was hurled at him in school, or at home by his own flesh and blood.

But when it was casually directed at Steve. His Steve.

That lets the words flow easy.

“Don’t come around here again,” he hisses. “Don’t talk to or so much as even look at these kids or I’ll find out about it and I will hunt you down, you little shit.” Billy’s knuckles are white and his arms are shaking, but he doesn’t relax his grip for even a second. Troy whimpers, tears streaming down his face. “Am I clear?”

“Yes sir,” Troy manages between sniffles.

Billy finally lowers him back to the earth. The kid’s legs wobble when his shoes meet the ground, and the blond is half convinced that he only stays standing because Billy keeps his fist tangled in the front of his shirt. Stares at him with stern eyes for a moment longer before he shoves him towards his friend, still standing at the curb, and sends him tumbling down on the grass.

“Get the fuck off my lawn.”

The two boys scramble to their bikes and take off down the street without their asses so much as touching their seats.

A moment of silence persists after that. Billy pushes both hands into his hair and sighs, long and frustrated, and just… stands there. The kids are all still checking on Dustin, but Steve carefully approaches his partner from behind.

He knows that Billy gets skittish sometimes when he’s angry. That he sometimes doesn’t appreciate being touched. So he carefully sets a hand on his shoulder and squeezes when he doesn’t shrug him off.

“Bill?” Steve tries. “You okay?”

Of course Steve would ask him if he’s okay. Billy says nothing for half of a beat, and when Steve gently turns him around, he’s met with two huge eyes filled to the brim with with water. Billy blinks and it all comes crashing down in under a second.

He can feel his eyes already burning. Can feel the sobs begin to stir in his chest where he tries to keep them buried unsuccessfully.

Steve just guides him forward and wraps his arms around him protectively. Cradles him close with a one hand cupped over the back of his head and the other rubbing circles into his back.

“Oh, honey, it’s okay,” Steve croons. “You’re alright.”

Billy’s breath stutters as he slumps into Steve, thankful that the brunet is able to take his weight. He doesn’t feel like standing himself right now but he really doesn’t feel like trying to clean grass blood out of his jeans.

He isn’t sure how long they stand there, but he moans feebly when his eyes run dry. Let’s Steve push him back enough to cup his face in his hands.

Billy knows he must look ridiculous. His face always blotches his horrible red and his eyes get puffy when he cries, but Steve still smiles at him nonetheless. Brushes his thumbs over his cheekbones and admires him closely.

“I’m sorry,” Billy says hoarsely. Bites his lip to keep it from quivering. “I didn’t mean to get mad.”

“No one means to get mad, it’s just something that happens sometimes.” Steve presses their foreheads together and breathes in deep, guiding Billy’s breaths. “You can’t expect to not get mad ever, okay? The most you can do is learn how to control your reactions when you do.”

“I can’t.”

“You can, baby, we’ll work on it. For now, let’s just focus on making you feel better.”

A kiss gets pressed to his nose and Billy nods. Sniffles when Steve leans away and takes hold of his hand so he can guide him up the walkway to their porch.

Inside, the kids settle around the coffee table, still shaken up but calming down once they tap into the pantry for snacks. Steve sits Billy down on the couch and treats him like a damn princess, bringing him food and swaddling him in blankets and kissing his face until he’s sufficiently simmered down. Until his eyelids are heavy and he’s slouching into the sofa cushions.

Crying always takes it out of him. Steve seems to delight at his sleepy posture, plopping down on the couch next to him and setting his chin on his shoulder.

The kids have started working to set up their game. Dustin throws on a tape with strange medieval music that Billy would normally tease him for, but right now he can’t bring himself to care about anything other than the warm body pressing against his side.

“How’re you feeling, my boy?” Steve whispers.

Smooths a hand over the top of Billy’s blanket right over his chest and earns a little smile.

“Better.”

“Good, I really hate it when you cry. Makes me wanna fight god.” The two of them share a chuckle and Steve brushes his lips against the corner of Billy’s jaw. “I do like seeing you use your muscles, though.”

For emphasis, he finds Billy’s bicep under the blanket and squeezes it. The blond’s smile fades momentarily.

“I shouldn’t have done that.”

“Dude, you bench pressed a whole teenager. That was the coolest fucking thing I’ve ever seen,” Steve lilts, leaning closer into his side. “And I’ve seen some pretty cool shit.”

Billy snorts. Can’t help that he’s grinning from ear to ear when Steve starts kissing him again.

“You’re crazy.”

“If by crazy you mean super smart and handsome, then yeah, consider me batshit.”

“Dork,” Billy teases. Stretches an arm around Steve’s shoulders and envelops him in the warmth of the blanket. “I bet Walsh is gonna be scared of heights now, though.”

Steve snickers.

“And fags.”

They both start giggling hysterically, only stopping when Steve sees fit to turn Billy’s face towards him and mash their lips together.

So, Billy might not be as mellowed out as he previously thought, but he’s working on it.

They’re working on it. Together.

The first time y/n met Eddie was after cheer practice and she was picking up Dustin, Lucas and Mike from Hellfire.

She knew of Eddie of course from Dustin's idolisation of him, Steve's jealousy that he was certain Dustin thought Eddie was cooler than he was (which was kinda cute if you asked her, Dustin and Steve's bond was adorable)

Of course she heard the loud and obnoxious opinions (cough, cough Jason's) of Eddie, he was a freak, a weirdo blah, blah, blah. All because he and his friends played a fantasy game.

She never shared those opinions which put her at odds with Jason and his fellow teammates but she actually liked to get to know a person before judging them.

When she entered the place that Hellfire was played and was the sole focus of the group of guys and Erica Sinclair.

Shit...

"Henderson! Eddie stands up from his chair, a throne and crosses his arms furious. You know the rules, no one interrupts game play".

Double shit.

She does not want Dustin or the other boys in trouble so she hurries to diffuse the situation.

"I'm so sorry, don't blame the boys. It's my fault". Eddie gets up and walks over to her staring her down.

She stands her ground but can't help looking into those doe brown eyes of his, trailing over his tattoos and getting a little bit fixated on his lips.

Wow he's cute.

His angry stance softens a bit and he nods pointing to an extra seat.

"I'll let you off this time sweetheart, we are nearly done so you can wait". Dustin relaxes and she sits down watching the game.

Her focus the whole time is on Eddie, he's so animated and funny and when he smiles she feels herself tingle all over at those freaking dimples.

When the game ends she's startled out of her reverie by Dustin watching her anxiously while Lucas and Mike snigger in the background.

Eddie looks annoyed and shrugs catching her eye.

"Let me guess staring at the freakshow right? ". he points to himself and shakes his head

Wait... What?

''I don't think you're a freak and that wasn't why I was staring". Feeling a little bold she walks up to him and eyes the game.

"Maybe I want to learn more about the game but I'm so behind I might need more private lessons". She bat's her eyes up at him, he swallows then smirks in realisation.

"Oh, sweet princess there's no way you could handle me". He saunters off and she watches him ago.

That was the moment she fell for him but really she didn't think anything would happen and expected him to write her off.

He didn't. The following day he was waiting at the school for her and when she approached him he nods to the woods.

''You wanna ditch this shit. Hang out for a while?

Billy drives to the school to pick up Max. He's been back in Hawkins for a few days, the first time since the events at Starcourt mall and barely survived that shit with the mindflayers possession.

Hawkins is still a shit hole, he'd be well out of the place but that dickhead father of his insisted they were staying put.

So here he was doing just that though he supposes Max the little shit isn't so bad, she did seem devastated when she thought he was going to die so he's cut her some slack.

He grins widely just his luck the cheerleaders are practicing. He spots that hot chick y/n who was at the mall last year with Harrington and Robin and smirks.

Well maybe Hawkins might not be so bad after all especially once that babe is in his bed.

This will be a piece of cake.

It's been weeks since her and Eddie first met and she's more smitten than ever but is sure he doesn't feel the same.

She knows he's dated quite a few women and he flirts with her all the time so she's sure he isn't shy.

Is it flirting though or wishful thinking and sure they spend a lot of time together but maybe her feelings are totally one-sided.

Eddie also much to the delight of Dustin is now in the gang and after a little bit of a shaky start gets on well with Steve.

Watching how he interacts with Dustin like an older protective big brother makes her melt inside. All this tough guy shit and he's soft as a marshmallow (not that she would ever tell him that)

The peace and quiet of the gang hanging out at the movie store is shattered by the door opening and walking in even though the sign says closed.

It's Billy.

Max gets up surprised and walks over to him confused.

"What I can't visit my little sister?". Robin points to the sign.

"We're closed right now". He ignores her and takes a drag of his cigarette before turning his attention to her. Eddie moves a little closer and she is a little confused by the tension on his features.

"Hello beautiful. I'm Billy".

Oh shit. Max rolls her eyes and she feels like a dear in headlights under Billy's gaze, he's cute and all but she knows he has a temper, Steve despises him and in her eyes Eddie is it for her.

Or he would be if he felt the same.

Speaking of which Eddie tenses and when she looks up he's glaring at Billy who's hand reaches over to caress her arm.

She's a little uncomfortable as he moves closer and looks at her up and down lust in his eyes.

"Maybe we could do some exercises keep you in fit shape for cheerleading huh?".

She steps away and shakes her head.

"Actually I'm fine here". He looks stunned and there's that hand on her arm again she's about to tell him to back the hell up but Eddie having enough steps in.

"Move your arm Hargrove or I'll break it". The whole room turns silent and Steve hovers ready to step in too.

Billy bursts out laughing.

"Munson right? Fuck you her boyfriend or something? Nah... No fucking way because I highly doubt she'd date a freak like you".

This is the thing that makes her snap.

"Leave him alone, he isn't a freak". Billy sneers and turns to her

"Maybe you're into him and he doesn't like you wouldn't that be ironic huh? Fall for the freak and he doesn't want you".

It hits right in her insecurities and she heads out to the back rooms hiding her tears and getting away from Billy's cold cruel laugh.

She can hear Max and Steve pushing Billy out the door and wants to go back inside but how can she face Eddie now?

Someone joins her and she looks up to find Eddie watching her concerned.

"Why are you upset?". She wipes her tears away and avoids his gaze.

Re: Billy, yeeaahh, I think there’s exactly one *potential* way Billy could have been persuaded to leave without a fight and that’s if Chrissy was there at the Byers for some reason and she and Steve tricked Billy into thinking he saw her instead of Max. (1/ hopefully 2)

Why is Chrissy there? I don’t know. Maybe this is a ‘Chrissy and Steve are cousins’ au and he called her over in the hopes that her presence would stop the Party from sneaking out to commit arson to save Will’s life. Maybe she actually got caught up in everything last year bc she tagged along with Steve when he went to apologize (probably another cousins au scenario). Maybe she saw Max skateboarding, thought it was cool, and started a conversation. (Part 3 incoming)

(3/3) Cheerleading is pretty hard, so if Max was either already aware of that or found out while talking/hanging out with Chrissy, I think it’s reasonable that Max might admire Chrissy, which could potentially result in Chrissy being asked to the junkyard (especially if Max didn’t buy Lucas’s story, which I don’t think she did).

oooh fascinated by Steve and Chrissy being sporty cousins who are basically siblings tho. Steve who calls Chrissy his "sister but actually my cousin but basically my sister" in his brain because she's maybe 7/8 months younger than him so was in the grade below but they grew up together and almost all the baby pictures have them together in matching outfits :') they saved worms together from the pavement after it rained. Chrissy put them in Steve's hair and he cried. (she did this many times) They sit beside each other at family gatherings and just much sly and cutting mean girl comments about their relatives to make the other laugh. Or make distressed faces at each other from across the table when grandpa Otis is getting drunk and ready to rant.

Chrissy who Steve called during his sad boy clean up his own mess hours and she was like "okay I'll drive you to the byers house? You got knocked around I'll drive please don't get in a wreck auntie Diane would kill me." and she waits in the car for him but then Shit Goes Down and there's lights flashing and Steve runs out, but he stops, and looks back. and then locks eyes with Chrissy, and runs back in. So she follows. And finds out monsters are real right beside her brother-cousin.

yeah okay I'm digging Chrissy and Steve cousins au but it HAS to be coupled with Chrissy lives au I can't do that to them. I can't make Steve try to clear Eddie's name while mourning the only family he's known loved him. (but GOD a Jason/steve confrontation in that au? where jason is like she was your family! and steve is like I know!! That's why you need to believe me that Eddie didn't do this! I want revenge just as much as you! oh god this is so sad no no Chrissy lives in harrington cousin au.)

Anyway but Yeah. I think, like. Billy just wanted to punch someone. I guess because Chrissy is a pretty and popular girl, he would at least hesitate in his itch for a fight. Billy doesn't respect women but he's savvy enough to get in with Tommy, Steve's former bestie, so he knows enough that Chrissy isn't someone he wants to be on the bad side of. So perhaps it would...slow down? the events? idk. I really do think once Billy saw Steve or Lucas he wasn't leaving without punching someone. She could try to convince him it was her in the window, if Steve had gone out first, and that might give the kids time to hide better, but Steve isn't leaving s2 without getting punched by Billy in place of Lucas. It's one of those "locked in the timeline" things for me. Sorry Steve :( at least sometimes you aren't knocked out completely.

this answer is all over the place haha but post s3 pre s4 chrissy seeing Max skateboarding and thinking it's pretty cool and striking up a little mentor-friendship with her is so cute. Two lonely girls</3 Maybe Max teaches her to kickflip and Chrissy Teaches her to cartwheel... holds her ankles up to get the feel for it...and for a little while they don't feel so alone... aww... El's whole anomaly thing is that the anomaly is a hybrid of a bunch of other monsters and some nasty Upside Down stuff. So the anomaly is covered in vines that act as armor and the main body is kinda smokey like the Mind Flayer.

The Party didn't know any of this in s1 of course. They just thought El was a weird bald fairy (She started out as a fairy when she was born prior to becoming an experiment. After she lost her abilities post s3 she had to learn how to actually be a fairy and cue the s4 bullying) Honestly Lucas and Dustin were relieved when she disappeared after going into her anomaly form to defeat the demogorgon because what the fuck

Other misc notes because this whole post is a mess. Dustin wears a hat because of his snake hair and he's tried to turn Ted to stone multiple times bc he keeps forgetting Ted is already stone (Ted's also a gargoyle). Gargoyle Mike. Mock. Or Rike. Dustin names all of his snakes and names one of them Dart for honor. Mike says he can totally use his wings but he's a filthy liar. He’s like totally able to fly he just can’t right now cause of reasons. Shut up. Vampires can go out into the sun and moonlight by wearing certain rings made by witches/wizards/basically any magic handler (Think Vampire Diaries). The Wheelers got theirs from the Byers and Eddie was able to get fashionable ones. Erica's the type of zombie that will crawl on walls n shit. Lucas’ bed is just. A bed of dirt and a tombstone. A tombstone with a single Micheal Jordan poster taped to the headstone. Fairy Chrissy has those cottagecore vibes.

Pre s1 Steve and s1 Steve would take any moment to shift into his wolf form. It was an ego protector and a huge thing to show off his strength and intimidate people. But then Jonathan (A fucking ghost) put his ego in place and made him tone down on the shifting. It made Steve realize that no matter what there's something bigger and worse than him that can kill him.

Anyways s2 Steve was very clear about changing every now and then for specific purposes or emergencies. Cue Dustin going "Holy shit can I PLEASE see your wolf form please please please" and Steve's like "shut the fuck up"

None of the kids had seen his wolf form so they kinda always pestered him about it. During the demodog standoff he didn't even change then, only making his arms go halfway for strength purposes. During his fight with Billy, he only changed when Billy started attacking the kids. He WOULD'VE won if Billy hadn't had silver brass knuckles. Billy almost murdered him. Steve now has burn mark esque face scars from Billy's silver brass knuckles.

Jason is like s1 Steve and transforms all the time. Jason’s wolf form is unusually smaller. People don’t know much werewolves so there’s nothing to compare to and everyone just thinks he's huge but in reality Steve’s form is like 7ft while Jason's is 6'3".

In The Party and Hellfire's DnD games humans just have extensive lore since they're so uncommon in their world. They all have overpowered humansonas.

Will is the most naturally 'human' looking out all of them except for maybe the vampires. His inhuman features are stuff like pure purple eyes, claws, pointed ears, purple scales, and that thing evil characters have where there's black stuff on their hands and feet. That but purple and not evil. He also has that on the tips of his ears.

Steve's type is just. Vampires. I can't blame him. Even when Eddie and Nancy are in their bat forms Steve and Robin go heart eyes. Their tails wag whenever Eddie or Nancy enters the room. They try to hide it but it never works. They lean up against a wall when they walk in and they don’t say anything but they have a silent understanding. The way Robin finds out about Steve’s little crush is when Eddie and him are talking at Family Video and his tail is going 90mph. Steve finds out about Robin's crush on Nancy when he starts noticing that she has a death grip on her tail only when she’s talking to her. She blames it on anxiety or just a fidget like chewing your nails but they both know she’s a terrible liar. Also stuff like her ears perking up when Nancy's talking, her pupils widening, and purring.

Will is just a little guy. A lad. He can fulfill his life long dream of casting fireball. Joyce mentors him in his magic.

Vampires probably can't smoke weed so RIP Eddie I guess. Pixies have simpler wings than fairies, like a translucent color. Fairies got them patterned pretty ones. Angela lowkey has a boring look but don't tell her that or she'll kill you. Pixies and fairies also carry around magic Tinker Bell style.

Gargoyle Mike cannot win a fight despite being a literally chunk of stone. He just freezes up. He has no idea what to do other than tackle. After he tackles you he tries to put on as much dead weight as he can. Just render them down until they give up. During his fight with Billy in s3 at the pool Billy chucks him through the wall. Possessed demon beats the shit out of a living boulder.

Eddie finds it extremely easy to talk with Robin once they establish a friendship. They’re those two kinds of people who can talk nonsense upon nonsense for hours and hours and never get tired, they just fit, they just get each other. I like to think they fixate on certain subjects together and talk about them whenever they see each other, both delivering new facts and points of conversation about whatever their fixation is about. Then eventually they move on to a new topic and the process begins again. It’s hard to engage with them if you don’t understand what they’re talking about because they like to go in-depth. But hey, it works for them, which is what’s important.

Robin is the first person in the core group that Eddie tells about his being queer, and it’s probably what cements their friendship tbh. They both have someone to turn to, innit? Because while Robin obviously has Steve, bless his lil face. Eddie and Robin have the shared experience of growing up queer in Hawkins, having to hide it, not being able to date or find love normally because of it, and being terrified of how the people they do love might react to the knowledge. So, for them to have that absolute safety in one another is so fucking important, and that’s why Eddie tells her tbh because he’s tired of being alone with it. His uncle is aware, but Eddie doesn’t really know how to talk with him about it, and he does have a sense of disappointment in himself about it. He feels he’s caused his uncle enough bother, now he’s gotta deal with having a queer under his roof. of course, that’s all in his head. but it’s the kind of thing he needs robin for, you know?? 

Entirely up to you this one, Lottie. But consider that from time to time, Eddie pretends to be Robin’s boyfriend for when she’s going on dates with girls. Eddie comes to pick her up from her place, where her parents are. They put on a pretty believable show for a few minutes, and then Eddie delivers Robin to her date, picks her up afterwards too. Of course, no one would be impressed that their daughter brought Eddie home lmao, but he’s nothing if not a good showman, and is very convincing for Robin’s parents that he’s an absolute straight sweetheart.

S3 AU HC: Consider Eddie and Robin both being horribly embarrassed by Steve’s attempts with the ladies. They watch in simultaneous horror from the little hatch, predicting together what kind of line Steve will use, and how terrible the reaction to it will be. It’s pretty hilarious for them to see Steve, who was uber popular at school, while they were losers, strike out so hard. (until they befriend him) Like the little shits that they are, they do impersonations of Steve’s flirting techniques when Steve isn’t around, prompting weird looks from customers because they’re busting their guts with laughter. Poor Steve. :’)

Some Stranger Things thoughts after finishing s4:

1. I’m not going to say I liked this change or not, because I haven’t digested it enough to know how I feel about it, but I will eat my hat if Vecna being behind everything was what they had in mind from the beginning. From s3, sure, why not. S2, maybe. S1? Nopeity nope. It is… interesting, how the whole vibe pivots and becomes something different with this knowledge.

2. I feel there is approximately zero chance that Max will not wake up sometime in season 5. I think it would make lots of sense if she’s been consumed by Vecna and her mind is sort of trapped within him and will need to be pulled out, but that’s just my first wild guess.

3. By a similar token, I feel it would be rad if the same is true of everyone Vecna has killed, only most of them don’t have a living body they have the chance of going back to.

4. …meaning I would love it if they somehow manage to wrangle a Billy and Max resolution scene in a warped Vecna mindscape or something. Meaning real Billy, after everything he’s been through, and Max getting to say what she needs to say to him and him… I don’t want it to be OOC, but it wouldn’t be a resolution if he didn’t encourage her to live. I don’t know, something!

5. While we’re at it, maybe Barb can have been consumed by Vecna, too? Does Nancy need more closure?

6. Eddie, Eddie, Eddie. I suspected he was going to die as soon as he showed signs of being Precious, I hoped he would last longer and join the party anyway, and I am disappointed he didn’t get to and want to see more of him. But also I understand not wanting to add more characters at this point, I understand they did a respectable if imperfect job of giving him a complete arc, and they gave him some truly epic and memorable shit to do. Still, I would love it if he came back one way or another. Bare minimum, I would appreciate some visible mourning and continuing acknowledgement in s5, and if done with care it could be awesome to have him somehow surviving and being trapped in the upside down (...Dustin thought he died and couldn’t move him with his leg, of course), or being used by Vecna not unlike Billy or the Kas theory maybe.

(I also developed an interest in shipping him with Steve, so I’m bummed that’s going nowhere without AU fanfic. I practically got to the point of shipping all the older teens in some kind of complex polycule.)

7. …I am irritated that of the new characters participating in the weird stuff and allying themselves with the party, Eddie had to be killed off but Argyle, simple comic relief that isn’t my jam, got to stay through to the end. Sure they needed his van and the comic relief but what is that shit.

8. I do have some thoughts percolating about how the Vecna retcon aligns the Upside Down in parallel with Silent Hill a little more. The Otherworld existed before, but was broken into and shaped by a psychically powerful individual (who happened to be a young woman who was abused as a child to bring about her powers, mind you). And it’s a place where your inner demons take physical shape and come out to confront you, and you either face them or die. For Stranger Things, I would guess that this idea could be disassembled a bit, giving pieces to different characters. Eleven is psychically powerful and was abused as a child, and she broke the gate open. Will has been bullied and outcast all his life, and could have shaped the dark town—at least, that’s a theory I like. Vecna’s a powerful malevolence with an interest in bringing people’s emotional pain to the surface to siphon power from them, and has some elements that are similar to Alessa—interest in collecting insects, leaking their own signs of trauma or emotional significance into other people’s minds or paths, severe burns causing a spooky appearance. I am going to have to think about this more, but it’s very interesting to me.

I... might have to watch it again to get my thoughts straight, but it was also so emotionally wrenching that I’m not totally sure I want to? ugh, I’m not sure I like all the Plots but the characters, my god. feelings and development and so much pain. I binged from episode 2 to the end yesterday, because I kept finding myself unable to stop because MY CHILDREN WERE IN PERIL. It was A LOT.
