The Bladebreakers were on a trip to India. All except Kai were in their rooms, sleeping peacefully. The dual-haired wandered in the streets of the subcontinent's capital. It was Winter in Delhi. The chill air flirted with his scarf, which fluttered wildly against the breeze. He bought some coffee and sipped on it slowly. His glances showered the vast sky that was infinite and beautiful. The mist blinded some parts of the city, but Kai was able to manage and walk past them. The culture was rich, yet some states had a poor economy. He stood in front of the Indian gate and saw the surroundings. Long walks were a hassle for Takao, but not for Kai. He felt relaxed and content after a couple of months.

"Hmm." Kai closed his eyes and enjoyed the peace coming from inside. He braced his scarf further to protect himself from the cold.

He turned and saw someone familiar. He knew her but never talked to her for once. She is none other than Julia, the captain of F-sangre. She was wearing a trenchcoat with her messy hair fluttering in the wind. Kai was never into girls, yet he found her pretty. Of course, he doesn't have anything romantic for her. Julie gave a side-eye and her jaw dropped. Kai quickly turned back, pretending not to see her.

"I know it was you, Kai. I never expected to see you here," she remarked and walked to him.

"I clarified if it was you, nothing more," Kai walked away from her. Julia was stunned by his attitude. She seethed and said, "You have no manners for sure."

Kai stopped along his trance and turned back. He gave a 'hnn' before he started again. "You do know about me, after all. But, there is so much you still aren't aware of," he smirked and walked off. She can never understand guys like Kai, or even guys in general.

Julia walked back to the hotel she was staying in. Coincidentally, it was the same place where the Bladebreakers were staying. She saw Kai reporting to the reception before he walked to the room. His room was somewhere on the second floor. Hers was on the fourth floor.

Kai knocked on the door several times, but Takao was fast asleep. Kai facepalmed. He informed Takao that he would be out. It was his fault too, he should've thought twice before roaming out. He gave up. He decided to sleep on the corridors until Takao would show up.

"Your roomie is not opening the door, pathetic," Julia mocked. She smirked and leaned against the wall.

"I can sleep here, I don't need your help."

Julia sighed and walked to him, "I knew you wanted to sleep on a cozy blanket this winter. Don't lie. I can give you room. Come with me."

Kai blushed at the thought of sleeping next to a girl. He couldn't help but accept her offer. She chuckled. Kai felt dreamy. She was beautiful. He smirked and followed her to the room.

It was the same as his's, except the aspect was different. They removed their coats and scarves and hung them. Julia grabbed her nightgown and went inside the restroom. She returned a few minutes later.

"Make yourself comfortable," Julia assured him. He sat on the sofa.

"Come to the bed!" she exclaimed. Kai blushed.

Julia's cheeks turned beet. She gasped, 'Wait, did he assume that I…'

"No, I didn't think like that. I-uhh… just… um… don't sleep beside girls… you know. I hate sleeping with Takao too, he is a loud, snorty kid. I hate his snoring, ugh."

Julia burst out laughing at Kai's remarks.

"Alright, I'm going to turn the lights off. Have a good night's sleep."

Julia shared the blanket with him.

"Am I troubling you, girl?" he asked.

"I've been feeling lonely since my brother is not here. He's on a date with his new girlfriend. It's nice to have you as my companion. Just get some sleep."

"Well, promise me one thing. Don't tell Takao or anyone that I stayed with you this night. He'll never get enough of me once he learns about that. I will have a tough time dealing with that doofus," Kai mumbled.

"Sure, I'll take care of it, but by the time I wake up, you will not be there," Julia mocked. Kai sighed and was frustrated with her remarks.

She turned the lights off and lit a candle. Kai felt the illuminating presence and turned to see her. She kept that on the thick yet flat headboard of the bed.

"Do you love candles?" Kai asked her.

"I do, they are beautiful. I'm going to purchase some of them tomorrow in the market. The Indian candles seem to be lovely. I'd love to have some."

"Nice," he gently smiled.

In a few minutes, Julia was fast asleep. Kai struggled since he was with a girl, all alone. He brought the candle towards her to see the breathtaking face. He laid the strands of her hair on her ear. "You are beautiful, of course. I hope you get more candles like these. They'll make your face glow."

Kai placed the candle aside and drifted off. He dreamed of Julia in a beautiful Indian outfit and makeover, with the room decorated with beautiful curtains, rose petals, and cushions. Red shawls were hung along the corners covering the bed. She held a big candle, waiting for Kai to lie by her side. The dark room was illuminated with beautiful candles around the confines of the room. Her smile was radiant the moment Kai came to her.

"Come close, Kai. I need you by my side this night."

Kai climbed on the bed and faced the beautiful girl. His fingers crawled on her cheek and drew her closer.

"I will never leave this radiant beauty," his amethyst eyes were interlocked with her emerald ones. His hands slowly crawled down to grab her by the waist.

"I will make this night memorable for you," he whispered into her ears.

...

The next morning, Julia woke up to see Kai still fast asleep. She didn't expect to see him by her side. He was cute. The candle was gone, but the glow and radiance were still on his face.

A very late response to @rainbow-pearls questionnaire. I'm so sorry because I had exams 😩

1. KaneXSalima is my most favorite ship in Beyblade for a trillion reasons. I have some other favorites like ReiMao, TyHil, KaiJul, OzuMari, etc.

2. Most of the stories I've read about Kane and Salima are very good because they rarely have much fanfiction (the reason FFN or maybe AO3 has more fics is because of me 🥱). But, definitely the best ones for me are Embellishing a heart to two by Cutetyhil (BEST OF ALL) and Trapped in Cold by Black Eilla. The latter story is inspired by Warmth in Coldness by Sipsinekku. The Seeds of the time (forgot the author name) in FFN is another good fic for them.

3. I think it's me 😂 in fact I'm not sure because many authors don't write for them.

5. Cutetyhil has written the most heartbreaking stories for them which is again Embellishing a heart to two and What if I never get over you? if it doesn't count me where I've killed both of them in a fic.

6. Again, barely anyone writes for them. It's not like there is a particular author who writes hilarious fics, but Bangles written by Droplets of blue rain is so far one of the hilarious written stories for KaneSal. Maybe she takes the piece of cake along with Cutetyhil as she has also written some humor content for them in some fics like Love or flirt? @black-eilla you are the next person to be getting this award if you can write more fics.

7. Meeting after years of separation! Their meeting in their mid-twenties or at the onset of their late-twenties after over ten years of separation is one of my favorites. They are separated during their higher education days especially during their college life. She is in Canada and he is in Australia for their respective studies.

Hubby/wifey romances are absolutely my favorite for them! I can imagine them being cheeky, flirty and naughty in their married life.

I like any type of medieval era fics for them, like King/Queen or Emperor/Empress fics, warrior/lover or wife fics, etc.

I love doctor/patient romance for them and obviously you know Kane is the doctor as always but I'm feeling so shameful to admit it.

8. For Salima, I can imagine her with guys like Rei (but however it's my major rival ship so I have a love/hate relationship with them sometimes but still they are looking cute and hot for each other). Tyson is a good choice for Salima too. Maybe guys like Oliver can be a good choice too?

As for Kane, I have an OC called Katsumi. She is an alternate to Salima and I love her with Kane as much as I love Kane and Salima. Other than her, maybe Mao? I've written a fic for them. He is Libra and she is Leo; they are said to have a good compatibility and have the same perspective and opinions towards Beyblading.

9. Harleys in Hawaii by Katy Perry is a travel song. They just roam in Harleys.

Whenever I've listened to regional songs (Kollywood, Bollywood tollywood, etc.), I get reminded of them but I forget the specific songs. I have a song in my right now but should I share it?

10. I have too many at the moment 😭 but I had this idea where Kane and Salima's marriage is found to be controversial, so they face a lot of hardships. One day, after being allegedly beaten, they decide to have a shower. Salima will try to seduce him to have a shower together.

How about a Kai vs. Julia? 🔥⚡

We should have seen one. Oh well, we should have even seen them bonding over; as friends? Lovers? I don't care. They both deserved a dynamic my honor. A fire vs. lightning would be dope as hell.

A/N: I never thought I could draw them accurately lol. I have been taking references from some G-Revolution screencaps. And oops, pardon me if I had messed up with Julia's thunder🙇‍♀️. The first one is edited with canvas and the second one is taken after drawn.

yes all of this. I guess they tried to handwave the drift compatibility thing with “you form better bonds when you’re young” but frankly they didn’t even mention that some/most people wouldn’t be drift compatible with each other, and since it was such a big and important part of the first film you’d think they’d at least.. mention it. even if they did mention it with the handwave there was opportunity (and absence) of touching a whole load of emotional points such as….

…vik drifting with amara and so forth…but all we really got was a parallel (/copy) of mako and rayleigh’s first drift with her chasing the RABIT to her traumatic first kaiju and him trying to calm her. I get that we had to have more pilots for more jaegers but it didn’t half spread the plot, and the emotional depth, thin

totally agree! yeah I think they were trying to say that all the cadets are drift compatible with each other by training since childhood, but um 1. why r u recruiting teens 2. why is amara just able to immediately fit into this? (I know she messes up the first time but I don’t think there’s any concern when they have to throw her in a jaeger that she won’t be able to do it)

the first film got around the pilot issue by giving all the other pilots very defined designs and super differentiated jaegers. we don’t learn much about the triplets or the russian team, but we didn’t have to! the movie used storytelling shortcuts (and stereotypes tbh) so it could focus on the core characters while still wordbuilding

i think part of the problem with pru is that it doesn’t have a strong theme running through it? the first movie was centered around recovery from trauma and this sense of having to work together when the odds are against you. what is pru about? we could say the core of the film is jake’s redemption arc, but there’s barely any dramatic tension in that. it can’t be about trauma again because, like you said, the only scene that touches on that is amara and jake’s drift. towards the end there’s the Teamwork Montage, but how is the movie about that even when there was so little tension leading up to them working together? Everyone is just like, welp. aliens again. better work for the greater good!

PRU doesn’t build up to anything. the ending doesn’t have the same payoff as the first movie. it’s just a robots hitting monsters movie, which would be fine for any other franchise (who doesn’t love robots hitting monsters) but haha i had some Expectations friends

Young Kaiju

As kaijulings grow, they soon grow more athletic and nimble. Young kaiju have proportionally longer legs adapted for running, swimming, and pouncing on prey, as well as keener senses and the ability to hold their breath for longer, which young kaiju use to their advantage when hiding in ambush. Young kaiju typically take advantage of their speed and nimbleness by employing hit and run tactics once they ambush their prey. Against a single target, kaiju will attempt a pounce, knocking their target prone and potentially gaining an additional bite attack with which to grapple it.

Generally, young kaiju will use their quickness to take the Dodge action as a bonus action whenever they have access to it, taking the risk of an opportunity attack at disadvantage to retreat and either line themselves up for another pounce or take a grappled target with them. Once a kaiju has a target grappled in its massive jaws, it will attempt a death roll. Unlike its crocodilian cousins, a young kaiju is athletic enough to perform this manoeuvre out of the water as well as in it. The sudden jerking motion inflicts massive damage on the target and stuns it.

Pounce. If the kaiju moves at least 20 feet straight towards a creature and then hits it with a claw attack on the same turn, that target must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. If the target is prone, the kaiju can make one bite attack against it as a bonus action.

Actions

Multiattack. The kaiju makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 20 (3d10 + 4) piercing damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 15). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the kaiju can't bite another target.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) slashing damage.

Death Roll. The kaiju makes one bite attack against a Medium or smaller target it is grappling. If the attack hits, it is an automatic critical hit, the target is knocked prone, the target is stunned until the end of its next turn, and the grapple ends.

Breath Weapons (Recharge 5–6). The kaiju uses one of the following breath weapons.

Poison Breath. The kaiju exhales poisonous gas in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw, taking 42 (12d6) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Radiant Breath. The kaiju exhales a ray of radiant energy in a 40-foot line that is 5 feet wide. Each creature in that line must make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw, taking 42 (12d6) radiant damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Bonus Actions

Quickness (Recharge 5–6). The kaiju can take the Dodge action as a bonus action.

Makes sense, there was also a scene showing Julia being worried for Kai (when he was fighting Brooklyn). Probably I was the one who noticed it :\

When I was a teenager I thought Julia’s design was just a female Kai with different eye and hair colors. Did anyone else think that? Does anyone else see that?
