Hello!! Thank you so much, I hope you’re having a wonderful day/night. This is my first time writing for him so I hope I was able to depict him somewhat correctly and I’m excited to finally be able to use this header I made of him.

Michael Kaiser to you was an unbearable human being to be with but in a way he was charming so you couldn’t entirely hate him. He invited you to watch a game of his saying that it’ll be a great opportunity to witness his greatness on the field in person as you have never seen him play before. It’s not like you had a particular interest in soccer/football so you never willingly went to watch a game.

Upon arriving you looked around trying to find a seat and that’s when Kaiser spotted you and waved you over. You walked over to him and he said with shock, “I can’t believe you actually came.” “Well you invited me so I would feel bad if I didn’t show up.” “Are you ready to witness the almighty Michael Kaiser?” You rolled your eyes “Yeah yeah just shut up and go group up with your team already.”

You wished that all the words he spouted out were false but he truly was amazing on the field. He was leaving the competition in complete dust and was radiating even with sweat dripping down his face. It was coming down to the last minute and Kaiser currently had possession of the ball, as expected. He was nearing the goal and that’s when you see him turn towards the audience. During those seconds he searched through the faces and his eyes landed on you and he pointed at you then shot the ball into the goal winning the game.

You wanted to scoff at his gesture saying it was cliche as hell but you couldn’t help but feel your heart flutter at it. While you were sorting out your feelings the audience around you erupted into cheers of excitement. Soon everyone slowly started leaving the stands and you made your way over to Kaiser. He was resting on a bench cooling himself down and looked up at you. “Wasn’t I great? Have you fallen in love with me yet? I wouldn’t blame you since I’m so hot.” You couldn’t help but roll your eyes. “Ew never, you’re so full of yourself.” “How can I not be when I’m blessed with good looks and talent.”

You were getting tired of his constant self ego boosting. “I can’t stand you!” “Then sit down.” He said so seriously that you almost missed the playful smirk on his lips. This jerk was messing around with you. If someone doesn’t hold you back you swear you were about to beat him up. “Ooh you wanna kiss me so bad.” “The only thing you’ll be kissing are my fists.”

While you two were bickering the rest of the team were watching you two. “Are we watching some enemies to lovers shit??” “It’s so obvious that they like each other, can we skip to the lovers part already?” They discussed between each other.

Kaiser on the other hand was having too much fun bickering with you because he just likes being annoying and you were one of the only people that he can get a reaction out of. One day he’ll have the courage to actually confess to you but for now he’ll continue being your annoying brat.

I’m gonna list mainly Chinese media in this list, though, because that’s what I consume more. And ha! How brave, asking an ND person like me for recs. Prepare to be bombarded by my rambling!

Starting off with the media currently featured in my header (excluding Blue Lock coz most of my mutuals already know that)...

1. The Earth is Online (danmei* novel)

* Danmei - Chinese boys love stories

The plot basically: Everyone on Earth is pulled into a death game.

A good intro to the unlimited flow* genre. Each instance is thrilling and complex. The boys love aspect is not much, as it focuses on plot, but it’s definitely not subtle. The characters are also quite diverse. Most UF novels just focus on the Chinese characters and revolve around what happens in China, but this one actually features those from other countries. I also like how the protagonist isn’t treated as the entire world’s savior. Other people around the world are also doing their part.

Where to read: An official English release is coming out in 2024. Translations will be done by luckkoi, the fan translator. As such, they've taken down their translations online. There's an alternate translation by @leonsrightlations , but only a few chapters are out right now. There are several completed translations online, but they're all edited mtl (machine translation). If you don't mind that, you can go google it. I recommend the one by Rainbow Mushroom. Their translations require a password, though, and you can find that on their Discord server.

* unlimited flow - Chinese genre of web novels where the protagonist is pulled into different instances to complete challenges which, if failed, would result in punishment or even death. It’s basically the death game genre, but instead of just one game, there are multiple.

2. Legend of Hei movie + Legend of Luo Xiaohei series sequel (donghua*)

(I downloaded this video from YouTube years ago. I can no longer find it there, so I’m reuploading it here…)

* Donghua – Chinese anime

A story about the young cat demon Xiao Hei and his quest to find a new home after humans destroyed his old one. Cute cat + cool powers + awesome fighting scenes + clean and crisp animation.

You can watch this on Netflix, but it’s not available in all countries. There’s an English and Japanese dub available, but I strongly recommend watching it in the original Chinese. (I can send you the full movie with English subtitles if you want). The series, which takes place after the movie, can be watched on YouTube. S1 of the series is more slice of life, but s2 is action-packed.

3. Low Tide in Twilight (BL manhwa)

That BL trope where the bottom has a mountainload of debt, while the top gives him a way out… except, not really, coz the male lead Taeju is partly the creditor, and he’s forcing Euihyun into a relationship with him in exchange for money.

Typical BL story with an initially toxic couple, but better. Complex characters, and a manhwa that relies more on the art to tell the story instead of the words. Also, Taeju gives off that same annoying but hot vibe as Kaiser. What more do you want?

4. Link Click (donghua)

The title (时光代理人) would be literally translated as “Time Agents.” I have no idea why the official English title is Link Click.

The plot basically: Two guys with time-related powers run a photography shop, where they accept orders from clients to dive back in time through a photo.

Funimation did this donghua so dirty by not promoting it more back when it aired in 2021. The English subs were also terrible.

Did you know that it used to rank #20 in MAL, surpassing MP 100 S2, Jujutsu Kaisen, and many other mainstream anime? Now, it’s ranked #41 on MAL, lower than before, but still pretty high for a donghua on MAL. That’s just how good it is.

Here’s a link to the blu-ray version with fansubs. Just pick the normal English track option and not English (CR).

Edit: OKAAAY, it turns out that link has the episode order all mesed up. Just ask me if you need an HD copy with good fansubs.

5. White Cat Legend 2020 (donghua)

Title (大理寺日志) would be literally translated as The Journal of Dali Court.

Another cat boy donghua! Can you tell I just love cats?

The plot: Chen Shi travels from the countryside to the big city to search for his missing brother and inadvertently ends up working at Dali court under the cat guy Li Bing.

Slice of Life + Comedy + Drama + Supernatural + Mystery + Action

Baiting you with a hot guy gif~

It's a historical show btw, so expect some references to real-life events.

The animation is also really smooth in this one! You can watch it on YouTube. Here's a link to episode 1.

Season 2 is also out! I'm yet to watch it, though. I should really do some time...

Oh gosh I completely forgot about this ask but!! Here's a couple lil sketches for Daiye!

Here's a "what if they went adventuring" because the comic IS set in my D&D homebrew world, Manala! Daiye would be a wizard and Celestelle would be a cleric!

Here's them race-swapped! Celestelle would be a SUPER cute lil jumping spider drider, and Daiye actually looks hot as hell as a Drow...

This week brought another episode of "Blue Lock is gayer in the official translation":

PO2 went with "more aggressive" instead and phrased Karasu's response more neutrally. Here, it's framed like he's personally been rooting for Hiori to break out of his shell.

Hopefully won't be the last showdown between these two ❄️🐦‍⬛

Another thing I enjoyed from chapter 252 was how Shidou and Charles separately view their playstyles:

I love the idea of their goal (Charles's assist and Shidou's header) being the result of their unique football ideologies overlapping. More of that, please. How about a Kaiser x Ness goal: floral magic? Another Hiori x Isagi one too, or even better: a galactic highway Kurona-Hiori-Isagi goal 🔥 We're bound to get a Rin goal, which could result from a team-up with Nanase, Tokimitsu, Charles or even Zantetsu.

This chapter was a massive W for Shidou all round. One of the coolest-looking goals yet:

all that aside it's interesting that isagi's ambidexterity is highlighted here in this field where handedness is a point of contention, sort of. kunigami should physically be noa yet his ambidexterity hasn't been brought up once, nanase is a genuine ambidexterity, and within this volume kaiser's right leg comes out seeming inferior simply because it was neutralized while isagi scored using both legs. (shidou who scored with a header doesn’t have his handedness brought up at all; he's in a category of his own.) even the name "two-gun" suggests a balance/equality within isagi's body that would presumably come with ambidexterity, even though his left shot is supposed to be inferior to his right

ambidexterity is within blue lock a marker of number 1. this is because noa is number 1 and ambidexterity is his signature trait, kunigami's win in the wild card round was due to him becoming successfully ambidextrous (if this is ignored in pxg, it's probably a sign the manga doesn't consider kunigami to be a contender for best striker for now), nanase is rin-adjacent and his ambidexterity is why rin (number 1) picks him up, and isagi achieving ambidexterity in ch.257 was yet another sign that he achieved his number 1 self which was also his main aim for the match. kaiser only having a right leg shot puts him out of contention for number 1 entirely, but then again "his right shot is number 1, if only in swing speed. there, he surpasses me" kaiser was always an existence who surpasses number 1 not an existence who achieves it, that's kaiser's weird connection/non-connection to the concept of number 1

at ubers start blue lock made a dangerous point about handedness when kunigami warned isagi against chasing true ambidexterity, warning it would ruin his body (the start of that match also highlighted the importance of physical specs through the mick parable). canonically that was 20(?) days ago, maybe since then isagi was able to push his acquired talents to a point where his lefty and right shots can be treated as equal by the story? in any case within this manga ambidexterity marks someone as number 1 or number 1-adjacent and it's no coincidence that blue lock has already made it a central thread of pxg, or that isagi's best performance was a shot where he uses both legs
