Hi!

Something I don't see talked about much is how krishna was made a center of romantic attention even as a child, and how it would have impacted him? Like kubja, many gopis in Vrindavan, possibly radha and kamadev himself they were much older. I mean people being attracted to him even as a child always made me a bit uncomfortable, even if it was normalized for that time (which shouldn't be)

So did so much romantic attention krishna experienced impacted or affected him in any way?

It's not an odd question, many researchers have fought about it for centuries now! 😂

Well, the culmination of the detailed documentation his early life's romantic adventures is in the ultimate critique afforded to his choice and number of wives. Krishna has been criticized mostly for marrying the 16100 women held captive by Naraka, and also because 4/8 of his chief wives are related to him in one way or another (Rukmini, Satyabhama, Mitravinda, Bhadra).

Against this, there seems to be two leading counters: (1) All wives except Rukmini are fictitious (laughable, and mostly a result of early western research into Indian mythology who balked at the idea of polyamorous relationships), and (2) Krishna is a God, normal people shouldn't look to his actions to judge their own (also, laughable, because would you rather people follow Duryodhana then? Seriously, just apply critical thinking to your personal situation instead of blindly following anyone).

In general, one impact you could say that all the romance had on Krishna was probably the fact that he is comparatively more free. He isn't very happy about the rigidity of the then society, and often prefers less violent solutions that his opponents call cowardice. However, this could be the combined effect of his upbringing, not necessarily just the gopis.

There's also the point of Krishna being considered a 'solar hero', a category of sorting mythological figures, who are characterized by many great feats, usually a grave danger near their birth, and the affinity to many women.

Personally, I do not see any adverse effect on Krishna as an adult. Any issues, if any, the war with Jarasandha would have knocked it right out of him. He did end up with sort of high expectations for his wives though, and sometimes they did not live up to those expectations, not because they were lacking in any way, but more because they all grew up in drastically different environments and had some trouble reading their already pretty inscrutable husband.

Everybody cheered for the newly wed couple. A few mournful ‘why couldn’t it have been me?’s could be heard among the crowd, who it was aimed at, however, was unclear.

“I never thought I’d see my father getting married.” Kama nearly shed a tear over the sight.

“Your what?”

He turned to see Vasanta gaping like a fish and realised his folly.

“My friend! I meant ‘my friend’! Since, you know, she’s an enchantress! We’re in the same line of work!” Kama tried his best to salvage the situation but to no avail. Both of them glanced over to the Asura side who seemed to have heard their conversation.

“Isn’t that Kamadev? Does anyone here know who his father is?” “I’ve heard it’s Vishnu!”

“Hmm, one of the Trimurti isn’t here. The guy who became the turtle. Where did he go?”

“Hey, wasn’t Lakshmi married to Vishnu? Why is she marrying Mohini now? Did he get cucked?”

The newly wed couple walked over to their friends, hand in hand. Saraswati hugged them both. “I am so happy to see you both together again. May you always stay by each others' side.”

“Hhr- ach-” Shiva tried and failed to speak, colour draining further from his already ashen face.

“He says 'congratulations!’ and so do I!” Parvati clarified, her hand still around her husband’s throat.

“I am sure you can remove your hand. The poison must have settled by now.”

Parvati looked sceptical of the idea but everybody’s encouraging looks were enough of a reassurance. She removed her hand to find his throat dyed blue, the poison frozen in place.

“Oh! The poison has turned your throat blue! Isn’t it the most beautiful colour, dear?” Mohini exclaimed, directing the question at her wife.

“Yes,” Lakshmi replied, absolutely not looking at said colour.

“You’re right. It is a very nice colour!” Parvati chimed in.

The compliment seemed to have improved Shiva’s mood a bit, bringing some colour back to his face.

“I hope you will not hurl the poison at our wedding,” Mohini whispered to Shiva, who opted to just shaking his head in reply.

“Congratulations but couldn't you have waited until the Amrit distribution?” asked Brahma, looking like every moment was aging him by a thousand years.

“No,” Lakshmi deadpanned.

Dhanvantari walked over to Lakshmi. “Congratulations on your marriage, sister! Though I didn't think you'd find a spouse right after being born.”

“Thank you! But this isn't my first time being born.”

“What.”

Mohini once again turned to address the crowd, who were starting to realise who she actually was. “Now now, boys! No need to start a fight. I am inviting you all to our wedding, where Amrit will be served during the feast!”

Everybody cheered louder than before, all suspicions completely forgotten.

“And to answer your question, my dearest asura, I am indeed cucking Maha Vishnu.”

“Did you hear that? She called me her dearest!”

As you know, I am Bangali... And an avid fan of Rabindranath Thakur.

There's this dance drama called ‘Chitra’ wrote by him inspired by Chitrangada's tale in the Mahabharat.

(now I know whatever Rabithakur wrote was rather a fanfiction but listen to me...)

In that drama, Chitrangada asks Kamadev's help to like make her more ‘feminine’

If we read the whole tale it's quite fascinating how Shiva was not ready to accept Sati in her next birth , he was angry when Kamadev shot an arrow at him and he too was drawn towards Parvati. He went in deep Sadhana , here Parvati also did the same . But eventually they both found there way to each other. Their love stood the test of time.....

Shiva was not ready to accept her cause he was scared that there story will meet the same fate again and he will suffer the misery....

Who is vasant?

He's the God of Spring and Flowers in Hindu Mythology. He always roams with Kamdev and Rati (the God of Love and his consort the Goddess of Lust) basically third wheeling them – so we came to the conclusion he is the God of third wheeling too.

There isn't enough texts about him actually so here in Tumblr we created a cult in his name... “The Cult of Rituraj Vasant 🌷🌸🌹🌺🌻🌼🏵️💐🥀🪷🪻”

From what I've found out, he's called Rituraj which literally means the King of Seasons. So ofcourse conclusion he's the King of seasons too.

Hi krishnablr, How do y'all imagine krishna's appearance?

For me,

I see him as a very androgynous person, genderfluid and more feminine than masculine. He has very long hairs and quite a slender body with a tiny waist he is a twink but he is warrior so some muscles like a slightly toned body but NOT 6-8 pack abs. He is tall, but not too tall (I hc arjun taller than him).

And ofc he is the most beautiful being in the entire creation, 3 world and beyond so whatever image we have of him probably wouldn't sum up his beauty. He is the enchanter of kamadev afterall (madan-mohana).

Xochi boi is also the God of love, so he'd also get along pretty well with Kama, but everytime Kama and he spend time Vasant gets jealous cuz he be going "Kamadev you have Rati leave my friend alone" in his mind T0T.

Ykw now that I think about it...

Vasant would vibe more with Xochipilli than with Xipe Totec, cuz mind you, Xochipilli's name literally says "flower prince" and yes he's the God of flowers too.
