Listen.
What Imma say rn is going to be like total bullshit but bear with me because it has some (only a little i think..) potential for more Vasant headcanons...
As you know, I am Bangali... And an avid fan of Rabindranath Thakur.
There's this dance drama called ‘Chitra’ wrote by him inspired by Chitrangada's tale in the Mahabharat.
(now I know whatever Rabithakur wrote was rather a fanfiction but listen to me...)
In that drama, Chitrangada asks Kamadev's help to like make her more ‘feminine’
«এক বর্ষের জন্য পুস্প লাবণ্যে মোর দেহ পাক তব স্বর্গের তুল্য» (even id only for a year let my body achieve the beauty and grace of a flower, which is fitting for heavens)
So.... What if.... Vasant... Helps her too??
Imagine buff lady Chitrangada taking ‘how to be a lady’ classes from Vasant...
This might be the stupidest idea but what do you think? T_T
OMG OMG NO IT'S NOT STUPID AT ALL
Also Chitra learning to "act like a lady" from Vasant reminds me of that one video where this dude was teaching his female student how to pose and catwalk HJASHDJSF
Ykw Vasant would definitely teach her, albeit he would be first shocked that she asked HIM of all people.

"When the wait become longer than expected, The love also become stronger than expected "
Shiv Shakti are the embodiment of this quote.
If we read the whole tale it's quite fascinating how Shiva was not ready to accept Sati in her next birth , he was angry when Kamadev shot an arrow at him and he too was drawn towards Parvati. He went in deep Sadhana , here Parvati also did the same . But eventually they both found there way to each other. Their love stood the test of time.....
Shiva was not ready to accept her cause he was scared that there story will meet the same fate again and he will suffer the misery....
This is true love right there 🥺

Who is vasant?
Omgg thanks for asking 🥹
Tumblr media
He's the God of Spring and Flowers in Hindu Mythology. He always roams with Kamdev and Rati (the God of Love and his consort the Goddess of Lust) basically third wheeling them – so we came to the conclusion he is the God of third wheeling too.
There isn't enough texts about him actually so here in Tumblr we created a cult in his name... “The Cult of Rituraj Vasant 🌷🌸🌹🌺🌻🌼🏵️💐🥀🪷🪻”
From what I've found out, he's called Rituraj which literally means the King of Seasons. So ofcourse conclusion he's the King of seasons too.
Here's more info
Other than that every lore about him is created on Tumblr only.. do ask @h0bg0blin-meat to know more about him. He's the one who started this Vasant propaganda first.
See this posts - Cult Rituals, Vasant goes ham with flowers, Vasant and Krishna platonic headcanon, Vasant in Ramayan, Kamadev and Vasant and everything under the vasant tag to get to know him more..
There's even an rp blog for him @flower-boi
There are a lot of other blogs too that talk about Vasant as much as I do, check out those too (sorry for not tagging everyone)
And join the cult :)
All Hail Rituraj Vasant

Day 5: A little freedom is all I need
Freedom.
I found very little of that in my life. Three siblings meant that more often than not, bedroom translated to communal dorm, balcony to extended-family-chai-and-snacks-space, and free time to free babysitting. I learnt early on to hide things – not because I was ashamed of them, but because it was safer. Hiding them meant I wasn’t accountable for them. Hiding them meant no one could take them from me. Hiding them meant they were safe.
Paint sets.
Favourite outfits.
Diaries.
To a seven-year-old me, hiding things was exciting, sure, but tiring. Every so often, I would lose that favourite pair of socks, or that special birthday present, and scratch my head for weeks as to its whereabouts, only for it to turn up a few months later.
And so, I tumbled into my teenage years – with mismatched socks, a skeptical outlook on life, and fiercely protective of what little personal space I had.
School gave me a little respite, but it was painfully obvious that I needed more freedom than my parents were willing to allow me. There was only so much that could be stashed in lockers and among textbooks, after all. I rebelled. Oh, boy, did I rebel. Resentment and tears and tantrums followed me through my teens until finally, at the grand old age of sixteen, my parents allowed me to move schools – and move state.
I faced this revelation with a smile on my face. I bid my best friend goodbye, wrote a card for my teachers who had shook their heads at me with increasing desperation through my years of schooling, and jumped on a train to my new state. My new school. My new life.
Freedom.
I could practically taste the word in the air, in the way the tricolour flew above the train station as I hopped off the train, eager to see what my life would be like in this strange, strange city. The boards were written in a language I did not know, the locals spoke a spirited tongue, harsh and flowing at the same time, that I did not understand.
The prospect of adventure made me smile – a small, crooked, alive smile.
In this new environment, I not only survived. I thrived, I flourished, and I found myself.
Late as always, awkward as ever, I found myself saddled with the baggage of my first crush at the age of sixteen. Love notes and poems, stored in the secrecy of my new rental home (it seems I never got out of the habit of hiding things), written by a starry-eyed young woman experiencing the power of Kamadev for the first time.
He was cute, of course. And kind, and smart, and had the power to make my heart feel a thousand different ways. But it was only a crush. And so, as crushes tend to do, it passed.
I set away a part of my heart under the heading ‘Him’ and smiled for what I had found for the first time.
Imagine my surprise, when barely a year later I had my second crush. Yet more love notes, written in the hand of a seventeen-year-old finding her place in the world, scented with the slightest whiff of jasmine perfume, hidden beside ‘Him’ and labelled ‘Her’.
She, like the one that had come before, was cute, of course. And kind, and smart, and like him, she made my blush feel a thousand times more intense. But yet again, it was only a crush. And so, as crushes tend to do, it passed.
I confessed this to my best friend, expecting to see her smile fondly at me as she always did and gossip together about love and friendship and all the things that came with it. For her to tell me about her girlfriends and crushes.
She still smiled – and now I know better, I love her for that, all of her accepting, open-minded self – but it was more unsure, more careful.
I’ve never had a female crush. She told me, late at night. Not many do. That’s not to say it’s bad, or wrong. Some people are just like that, you know?
I had always thought that maybe God just intended for us to love everyone: male, female or anything, anyone in between. But alas, it was not so.
Thus, with the aid of my best friend, a dictionary and unreliable school Wi-Fi, I realised I was pansexual.
That same year, I attended my first pride festival. Amidst the hustle and bustle, the smiles and the waving flags, I found something that I had craved for my whole life.
I had found my own freedom.
@desi-lgbt-fest day 5 prompt!

The history of Holi festival is connected with many mythological stories. The stories of Prahlad, Kamadev & Putna are prominent among them. All these stories teach that goodness always wins in the end. Instead of learning from the stories,

How is Vasant Panchami celebrated in the holy cities of India?
Vasant Panchami is also known as Saraswati Puja in worshipping the Hindu goddess Maa Saraswati. This festival marks the preparation for the arrival of spring, and it is celebrated in Indian religions in different ways.
The founding of the Deo-Sun Temple, the holy place dedicated to Lord Surya in the Indian state of Bihar, is also celebrated on Vasant Panchami.
Vasant Panchami is a symbol of the beginning of preparation for the Holika and Holi festivals of the Hindu religion, which take place forty days later. Vasant Panchami, also known as Spring or “Kings of all Seasons,” is generally winter-like in northern India and spring-like in central and western parts of India on Vasant Panchami.
The season and the festival are also celebrated in the agricultural fields’ ripening with yellow flowers of mustard crop, which is believed that yellow is goddess Sarawati’s favourite colour. On this day, devotees wear yellow outfits with accessories and delve into yellow-colored snacks and sweets. Some add saffron to their rice and then eat yellow-cooked rice as a part of the festival's feast.
Another legend behind Vasant Panchami is believed to be based on the Hindu god of love, known as Kama. Pradyumna is Kamadev embodied in Krishna’s Book. This festival is also known as “Madana Panchami.” Pradyumna is the son of Rukmini and Shri Krishna. He awakens the passions of the earth and its people, and the world blooms again.
Every state of India celebrates Vasant Panchami differently according to their region.
North India: Devotees worship the presiding deity of the family Ishta Devata/ Devi, on this day.
North Eastern India: Devotees from around the world visit Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh for the special darshan of Radharaman and to experience the endearing decorations on Vasant Panchami.
West India: Devotees wear garlands made of jasmine flowers and yellow outfits with accessories, and the home is all decked up with yellow flowers.
South India: States celebrate this day by worshipping Sri Panchami, where “Sri” is referred to as another aspect of the one goddess Devi.
Every corner of India is filled with overwhelming joy and happiness on this day. Every corner celebrates this day differently, but your laddu Gopal Ji needs to be all decked up on this day.
Laddu Gopal Ji's room is decorated with yellow flowers and phool bangla laddu gopal for the festival of Vasant Panchami. The fragrance of mogra elevates the charm of the atmosphere. Yellow colour Laddu Gopal Dress new design should be in Laddu Gopal's Wardrobe for this festival. Laddu Gopal Ji is all dressed in yellow with yellow colour poshak, jewellery, accessories, phool bangla for Laddu Gopal, etc. During Shringar, a small amount of Gulal is sprinkled on the devotees as a symbol of happiness and the upcoming festival of Holika and Holi.

the issue with the ending of ōoku (analysis)
Tumblr media
Recently, I received this reply on my previous analysis regarding Ōoku:
Tumblr media
And I thought this was, in particular, important to brief over + criticism on how poorly written Ōoku was in certain aspects. I replied to the original commenter already, but I’ll be posting my thoughts as a post as well, since I think it’s VERY important to be aware about the issues with the story and it’s impact on Kama as a whole.
In direct response to the reply: “There’s a HUGE difference between people caring about Kama’s trauma versus condoning the fact Pārvatī LITERALLY retraumatized them by a second incineration, let alone the fact the whole reason Ōoku happened in the first place is because Kama was used by the gods and Pārvatī and suffered a whole universe of pain leaving them traumatized beyond belief.
The other participants in Ōoku of course aren’t obligated to help Kama though this still doesn’t excuse the fact they were perfectly okay with letting Pārvatī retraumatize them again— the WHOLE reason they became evil-aligned. It’s legitimately a huge slap in the face because it needlessly retraumatizes an already scarred victim right and is then masked with a shitty “good wins and real love is applicable to everyone but kama!11!!”.
It doesn’t acknowledge their past issues and current internal issues at all that caused all their evil doings in the first place, and this ending BARELY gives leeway for them to heal as is. Of all people, Pārvatī is the one who IS actually obligated to care about the damage she did to Kama, unintentional or not. And in the end, all she gave was a shitty “sorry”, tried to pass her blame onto Indra, and then proceeded to incinerate Kama because there’s apparently no better way of taking them down.
So no, the issue isn’t the fact Kama was defeated, because yes what they did was bad— the issue is the fact HOW they were defeated was horribly disgusting and a huge message of “screw trauma victims for retaliating against the people who caused said trauma”.”
Not touched on in the reply itself, but I also think it is important to point out that even if Ōoku wasn’t just an act of revenge against Pārvatī (as it was against all of humanity for constantly blaming Kamadeva for the failures of love), Kama STILL had the right to retaliate after all they endured— and yeah, how they retaliated was bad, but how does is that any different from what Pārvatī did to them AGAIN, let alone how all the bystanders reacted? And at the very least, Kama trying to drown the universe with their love had the motive as a solution for them constantly getting blamed for failures of love— what excuse does Pārvatī have for SPECIFICALLY choosing to incinerate them again, an experience she KNEW was so painful and what made them so resentful in the first place?? How does incinerating them a second time fix any of the ongoing issues Kama had that led them up to this point??
It doesn’t. If not, it absolutely made their issues worse— Kama was straight up intending to commit suicide before Kiara plucked them, and as said by themself— they “always end up the victim”. NOTHING in Ōoku was fixed, and the only thing that was gained was the ending, where Kiara sends Kama to heal.
To me, Ōoku reads exactly as “we will reveal all the trauma a victim went through and proceed to worsen said trauma without fixing anything”, as well as a “let’s teach the lesson of love to kama by worsening their trauma”. It’s insensitive and poorly written, and even if you don’t like Kama, Ōoku overall still has a pretty poor message no matter how intricate it was.

Kamadeva from Hindu mythology.
Kamadeva was married to Ratī, the daughter of Daksha, created from his sweat. The goddess Vasanta (spring), who also accompanies Kamadeva, emerges from a sigh of frustration. Kama often takes part in Puranic battles with his troops of soldiers.
The story of the birth of Kamadeva has several variants in different Puranas. In the version of Mahabharata, a Prajapati named Dharma is born from the right breast of Brahma and begets three sons, Sama, Kama and Harsa. In some versions Kamadeva arises from the mind of the creator god, Brahma. Kamadeva is sometimes portrayed as being at the service of Indra: one of his names is "obedient to Indra". His consort Rati, whose very essence is desire, carries a discus and a lotus, and her arms are likened with lotus-stalks.
One of the principal myths regarding Kama is that of his incineration by Shiva.
In the narrative, Indra and the gods are suffering at the hands of the demon Tarakasura who cannot be defeated except by Shiva's son. Brahma advises that Parvati should do sacred pooja with lord Shiva, since their offspring would be able to defeat Taraka. Indra assigns Kamadeva to break Shiva's meditation. To create a congenial atmosphere, Kamadeva creates an untimely spring. He evades Shiva's guard, Nandin, by taking the form of the fragrant southern breeze, and enters Shiva's abode.
After he awakens Shiva with a flower arrow, Shiva, furious, opens his third eye, which incinerates Madana instantaneously and he is turned into ash. However, Shiva observes Parvati and asks her how he can help her. She enjoins him to resuscitate Madana, and Shiva agrees to let Madana live but in a disembodied form; hence Kamadeva is also called Ananga (an- = without; anga = body, "bodiless").
The spirit of love embodied by Kama is now disseminated across the cosmos: afflicting humanity with the creation of a different atmosphere.

A friend showed me that one reddit screenshot about how kama isn't going to love Shirou and asked me to explain/what it meant. I did my best to explain and even brought up Parvati and how she's basically just Sakura but I feel like I didn't do a good job.
Then I remembered you had a few good post explaining it pretty well but I'm having trouble finding them. Do you have links to some of those post or would you be willing to give a sort of brief explanation if that's no trouble? Thanks in advance! Love your content! 💕
hi 💗!!!!!! tysm for the message!! also no problem!!
here's 2 answers for u, use the one u feel will convince ur friend the most:
1) LORE ANSWER: the pseudo-servant system is inherently rooted in fanservice despite the arguments the game gives, so i understand the confusion. the thing is that even if it's a face you recognize, it's not the same character and certainly not the same person inside no matter how similar you think they are (other example: eresh that looks like rin, but very much is her own person despite the similarities because rin never had lil yandere-ish tendencies. eresh's are justified bc she's been alone for so long which is faithful to her irl lore. as usual, it's in the details) and the game acknowledges this fact clearly in waver's interlude.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
kamadeva is the indian male god of love and he was attracted to sakura's negative energy because they are both similar (sakura has powerful magic abilities and also had grudges, just like kamadeva does in nasuverse) kama has a voiceline stating this fact. (2nd ascension holy grail line) so basically, kama is not sakura lorewise, because the soul inside the body is solely kamadeva, the indian male god of love (with the demon mara bc they merged together to become beast III/L. kama's profile also states that they both share a 6:4 ratio inside the vessel). kamadeva never knew shirou because the god is only borrowing sakura's body, thus they simply don't know eachother and have no relationship whatsoever.
2) CAPITALIST ANSWER: fgo self insert fanservice whale game my waifu emo bikini armor sakuraface make money big tits genderbend mommy milkers. hope this helps !

Virah is such a strong thing. It crushes you when it strikes. It dances between being an intense pain, leaving invisible bleeding gashes on your heart, and a slow throbbing pain which lets you live your life yet never really live it. And sometimes it simply numbs you.
Painful as it, it is also beautiful. True love cannot exist without virah....even if it's for a short while. Virah is the testimony of how love can continue to thrive through the storms of time, pain, tears. It is a testimony of how a tiny wildflower of hope can grow through that one little crack in the concrete wall.
Such a thing virah is that it even struck the greatest of the Gods. Shiva, when he lost Sati, Radha-Krishna, Vishnu when Lakshmi left Vaikunth, Rati when Kamadev was burnt to ashes and Ram and Sita on being separated.
The beauty of virah lies in how it can be celebrated. The poetry, the songs that virah can weave are such beautiful celebrations of this feeling.
To me virah is a matter of pride..... pride on how true my love is and how strong is it's power. The resilience of a love which won't die.
