Anime references I’ve been tracking during the Olympics.
With photo proof that I could find.
An Italian track runner did Luffy’s 5 gear laugh right before his race. After getting bronze (I believe it was bronze) he was carrying around the Jolly Roger instead of the Italian flag wearing a straw hat. The day he got his medal he also did the 4th gear pose before his race. Also he DID come back for his next race with bleached hair I assume it was to embody 5th gear. He also explains one piece lore to teh woman interviewing him. I love this guy.
An American track runner did Gojo’s limitless finger thing before a race then after winning did the Kamehameha
British the British track team also did Gojo’s limitless sign after getting gold.
The French male fencing team did the Kamehameha when they got gold
An American Weightlifter did a Luffys 4 gear pose from One Piece.
When the Japanese Volleyball team won they played the Haikyu!! opening. Also the teams pick their history song so they picked that.
One of the Brazilian Volleyball players was just straight out there doing the fireball jutsu
A Japanese track runner was powering up dbz style before his run.
Another Japanese tracker runner did Johnathan’s pose from Jojo while introduced.
A Japanese Shooter just cosplayer a Jojo character
In the track stadium they played the Ultra Instinct theme from Dragon Ball.
The French men’s fencing team all did the Kamehameha

I’d love to hear more about your thoughts on JJK. Admittedly, I’m not well versed in shonen, so I never even considered that it was trying to subvert the genre.
P.S. Thank you for the consistently thoughtful takes and hot ass 😘
Ooooo boy I hope you’re ready for a whole ass essay 😎😎😎
Shonen as a genre has changed over time as any art form does, but it is still mired in tropes that can be traced back to the classics. The shonen genre is thus named bc its target demographic is boys to young men, for our discussion we’ll say teenage boys. While it obviously has big appeal for other demographics, it is mainly designed to both appeal AND communicate life lessons to that crowd of impressionable kids.
Because of this dual function you get this really odd genre full of super powerful special boys who love their friends but have no qualms about slaughtering their enemies. They typically espouse lessons about the merits of hard work, sticking to your beliefs ((so long as your beliefs are beneficial to society at large)), of goodness and friendship triumphing over evil. Look no further than DBZ and Naruto which can broadly be divided into Battle Arcs and Training Arcs, upping the ante for our special boy main protagonists until we literally have them fighting gods as the logical extreme of continuous escalation.
The Standard™ Shonen formula has a boy main protagonist who’s got some sort of motivation that is so ideologically pure that he’s basically impossible to defeat. Goku loves to fight, Naruto wants to be hokage, Tanjiro wants to cure his sister and slayer all the demons, etc. He forms/joins a band of merry outcasts with their own tragic backstories and sets out to defeat whatever villain appears for that arc. If they win, arc is over move onto training arc, if they lose, they train, fight and win, then train some more. The fun of the genre comes from the colorful side characters, and the little twists that come with each battle system, which brings us to Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.
At the time JJBA was being published, the big influence on manga was big beefy male led 80s action movies and Fist of the North Star, a manga about a beefy martial artist named Kenshiro going around beating baddies in a post apocalyptic world. Battle systems in Shonen were usually incredibly soft, most tied to physical combat enhanced by some poorly defined life force energy that could be called upon to even out fights and give big climactic finishes, like Ki from dragon ball and their iconic kamehamehas. Even JJBA starts off this way, with our beefy boys learning Hamon/Ripple and duking it out with vampires, til my man Hirohiko Araki was like “mmmm this is kind of limiting. Time to Change Everything~” and he came up with the concept of Stands, incredibly limited psychic/magic abilities that manifest as furries or sexy robots or a Lego version of the White House (?). You can see this idea really grow and expand within the part it’s introduced, going from “fire furry” and “robot knight with sword” to “guy whose stand turns into a ball that immediately erases anything it runs into but he can’t really see what he’s attacking since he has to be inside his stand in order for it to work also his name is Vanilla Ice and he’s a vampire in a thong.”
You can FEEL the impact this had even to this day. Stands became Jutsus in Naruto, quirks in MHA, Nen in HxH, Cursed Techniques in JJK. And part of what made it fun was that it added strategy to the mix! Str8 physical fights are hard to strategize bc it’s basically just a numbers game, right? Like bc his power level is over 9000, it’s going to be a tough time until some plot contrivance and/or training occurs to drive *my* power level over 9000. But now there is an additional layer of *how* these powers interact.
My ability is to blow bubbles and his ability is to turn a single person who comes into contact with bodily fluids into a mindless zombie? Create bubble shields so they can’t splash blood on you. My ability is to fold anything into origami and if you touch the origami you begin to see one object as something else and his ability is an automatic tracking stand that hunts me down by creating face shredding tornados when I breathe? Make a city bus look like my dad ((part 8 is fucking nuts)).
As you can tell, JJBA really burst open the dam on creativity, but as per the examples I’ve given they can often feel very… silly and contrived. The Serious Anime Fan™ will complain and say those fights are full of asspulls, which they are, but that’s very much part of the fun of the series. BUT because diversity is the spice of life, you also get artists who are less interested in adhering to the Rule of Cool and more interested in making things explicitly “logical” which is how we get Hunter x Hunter.
While JJBA dabbles in using stands for characterization, HxH goes HARD into it. Nen abilities are ((usually)) manifestation of their user’s idea of power, creating a direct link between who that person is and what they can do as a result. This is balanced by people having innate Nen types which means the kinds of abilities they can use are limited, though there are rules restrictions and exceptions to this as well. We know all of this bc mangaka Togashi literally gives a college level lecture on Nen in the story, describing how it manifests, how it works, what it can and can’t do, and how individual rules can supersede the basic set of rules and the rules for doing that. I call this style Erudite Shonen, bc bitches be TALKING. In erudite Shonen, powers usually fall on the complex side, even Bungee Gum, which has the properties of both rubber and gum, can be used in insane ways like ricocheting bullets, gluing minors together, and/or cheesing a game of dodgeball and it’s all both shown AND told.
Now where does JJK fall into all this? Listifying the common Shonen tropes we have A Special Boy main protagonist with a pure motive, a crew, goodness triumphing over evil, prioritizing bonds and community over selfish gain, and the winning power of hard work.
Early JJK fits the mold pretty well. Yuji Itadori starts off the series special, with superhuman fitness before he ingests sukuna’s finger at which point he becomes a Naruto analog, where he is strong because he has a powerful spirit trapped inside him. He has the rather off kilter but still acceptable goal of “dying a proper death”. His squad of mentor Gojo, Fushiguro, and Kugisaki is established by episode 3. The villains are cursed spirits who want to eradicate humanity, the good guys are the jujutsu sorcerers who say “no u” to that. Yuji wants to gain power to protect others instead of just becoming powerful himself. And there’s a training arc! Sure, it happens after Yuji gets his heart ripped out, but he’s not even dead that long. Even the powers in early JJK present themselves as pretty simple, Fushiguro does shadow summoning, Kugisaki does hammer and nail resonance, panda, Inumaki does cursed speech.
It wears its darkness on its sleeve however, presenting Junpei as a potential future team member only to shockingly kill him. The whole star plasma vessel incident casts an unflattering light on Jujutsu society. But none of that COMPARES to the shitshow that happens in Shibuya, where JJK finally shows its real hand.
Over the course of the Shibuya arc, we watch our protagonist mount an offense against the villains that have been building themselves up over the course of the show, sacrificing so so much just to ultimately… lose. The Shibuya arc subverts not just idiosyncratic plot beats but story telling traditions as well. “The strongest” loses, multiple fan favorite characters are either taken out of commission or outright killed, the story progression slams the fast forward button as Yuji goes from having ingested 4 out of 20 fingers to 15/20 resulting in mass civilian casualties because his version of the 9 tailed fox is an actual monster, and ((meta-narratively)) worst of all, Yuji doesn’t even get to defeat his arch-rival, Mahito. Instead Mahito is unceremoniously absorbed by other big bad Geto/Kenjaku. It’s supremely unsatisfying and the weight of the tragedy is so immense you wonder how our heroes are gonna come back from this.
And thus begins the “deconstruction” phase of JJK. Cuz they just… don’t. As dark as Shibuya got, a standard Shonen would then go on to give the heroes a big fat W, some sort of come back after all that. But not JJK! Bc JJK is subversive 😏 this means the fact that the story is super unsatisfying is like, the point mannnn. This isn’t the worst thing that can happen. Chainsawman is also a story of major L’s and minor W’s and it’s my #1 favorite modern manga series. The difference is in intent, however. Chainsawman works as well as it does bc at its core, it loves Denji. He REALLY goes through the ringer, but it’s all in service of understanding what life is like for someone trapped on the hedonic treadmill and how one can ((attempt anyways)) to break out of it.
And then there’s JJK. It truly feels like the manga is designed to tear Yuji’s self sacrificial mindset to shreds for the sake of making him suffer and for the reader to feel bad for ever feeling like good has to triumph over evil. The real problem is, it feels as if the series is bending over backwards to make this shit happen.
Part of the change over is what was a previously simple-ish battle system goes full Erudite Shonen. There were hints that cursed energy could get more complicated, what with domain completion competition and guaranteed hits and simple domains and that one guys FPS ability I can’t explain. But we go FULL HxH level afterwards. All of a sudden oxygen delivery to the brain becomes important to cursed technique, there’s domain range and boundary fidelity and incomplete domain properties, disruption of somatic components becomes a factor, and… it honestly feels like utter nonsense at times.
Complexity isn’t bad, like I mentioned I LOVE HxH and could probably explain the chrollo-hisoka fight if you gave me a few hours to study, but I could not tell you all the new rules for cursed energy that seem just kind of invented on the spot in random chapters during this back half of JJK. Bc they involve concepts never really mentioned before, it feels like an asspull, like this was something made up to force the situation at hand. Thing is, more of those situations only benefit the villains. You get shit like a character winning a battle at the end of one chapter and then starting the next one to find they were killed off screen moments later, actually. It’s just like yeah it’s subversive, but the reason stories aren’t told like this is bc this shit sucks lmao. I think out of all the plans the heroes make like only a handful of them are actually successful, and even then they get so unwound by the next step in the plan that they may as well have not happened. It doesn’t help that the abilities are so complicated now you’ll get a chapter dedicated to explaining what one guy can do just to have him wiped off the face of the earth the next one.
So the crew is gone, our special boy is actually the most disempowered guy ever except for the fact that he can’t be killed for some reason, the good guys are NOT doing a great job standing up to evil since like 86% of their plans fail or have bad results, a gag character wins one of the most important fights in the story and it’s unironically the best thing JJK has done in a while, and it’s all just a very confusing slog to read. This is the danger of writing subversion for the sake of subversion with intent for contempt, kids 😮‍💨
Granted we aren’t at the end of the story yet so maybe I’ll be wrong and there’ll be like a reset button that fixes everything (( which would also suck )), but yeah. JJK wants what HxH did in the chimera ant arc but forgot that that story was possible bc it was fundamentally about humanity and love, not just the parts about how people suck and goodness can fail.
If you made it this far congratulations you’re entitled to one big kissy on ur forehead from me and barnaby 😚😚😚

Giorno Giovanna vs Son Goku
Intro:
I just got done watching Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. As someone who grew up on Dragon Ball, and have been insanely obsessed with it pretty much my whole life, I started to wonder, can Giorno beat Goku? Well, I tried to watch a video on it, but the video was very drawn out, and it felt like they were leaving a lot of things about Giorno out while trying to wank Goku as much as possible, so I decided to try to think this through on my own. I’m not completely confident in my knowledge of Giorno’s abilities considering GER (Gold Experience Requiem) is a little confusing, but I am very confident in my Dragon Ball knowledge since I’ve seen all the series at least 4 times, I’ve read the manga, and dedicated years of my life to reading and watching things about it. Anyway, enough of that, here’s my argument.
Arguement:
To start this off Goku can’t do anything to Giorno, because Giorno can just be like no thanks fam, and revert to 0 making anything Goku did just straight up not happen. For those of you saying, “But Goku is faster than Giorno”, GER’s activation is instantaneous. GER reverted Diavolo’s actions to 0 in a world where there was NO TIME. Time was completely erased. Goku doesn’t have any kind of time ability, so no matter how fast he is there’s always at least a small portion of time that he has to take in order to do anything. Even with instant transmission, he still needs to raise his fingers to his forehead to actually utilize it. The only thing that I’m hung up on in this battle is if Giorno has anything that can actually hurt Goku, because as we know Goku is very durable. Things like guns, knives, animals that Giorno could make, etc won’t do shit. So, are Giorno’s punches actually powerful enough to beat Goku? I don’t know, but there is one thing I saw that I think grants Giorno the ability to land a critical hit on Goku, and that’s that energy blast looking thing he used on Diavolo when he first got requiem. I don’t know what it’s called, but it was a golden beam of light that pierced Diavolo’s hand like it was nothing. It reminded me a lot of the Ki blasts we see used throughout the Dragon Ball series. We’ve seen Goku pierced by ki blasts many times, so we know it could pierce his skin. Giorno isn’t like a Dragon Ball character in the sense that he doesn’t really screw around. He gets the job done as soon as possible. So with all that in mind, Giorno could use GER to undo anything Goku does, and then he could use that ki blast like attack to pierce Goku’s heart, therefore killing him.
Edit:
So while I was at work, I was thinking about something I should’ve brought up. Assuming Goku has ultra instinct, he could easily dodge Giorno’s attack. However, the problem with ulta instinct and mastered ultra instinct is that Goku can’t use it for very long since it uses so much energy. While Goku is using UI or MUI Giorno probably won’t be able to attack, but he can still make it so anything Goku does is ineffective using revert to zero. Eventually Goku will run out of energy and come out of ultra instinct, and when he does, he’ll be a lot slower and have less energy making it so Giorno can get a hit in. So either way, I still think Giorno would win.
Edit #2: I just remembered Giorno’s animals and plants deflect any attack you make on them back at the person who hurt them. If Goku were to for instance, try to use a Kamehameha on Giorno, Giorno could make an animal or tree and use it as a shield and then Goku would receive the damage from that Kamehameha wave.

So um… what is Kars was in DBZ? Would he just be like the strongest thing in the universe or would he be weak enough to get yeeted into space by someone like yamcha?
Okay so
Power scales in dbz and jojos are WILDLY different.
If I were to put a hamon user onto a dbz scale, they'd be closer to the power of a well trained normal martial artist in universe if not a Minor Ki User - Ki and Hamon both are above all forms of Breath with Ki focused on the stomach and Hamon focused in the lungs. Yes this means that if Jonathan switched channels he could probably bust out a mean Kamehameha but that's not the question at hand.
Now from my memory, Ultimate Kars was using hamon equivalent to about the same as the sun, which is pretty impressive for an earthling using basically a healing art for dps. So I'd say that other than his stupid regeneration, compared to the dragon ball villain pantheon, I'd put him at about a Demon King Piccolo +.
His lack of energy moves outside of contact blows and his limited defenses and speed put him below Raditz by a far bit but his rapid regeneration and his shape changing would make him quite the pain in the ass to fight if you were not a well trained fighter with an energy move capable of either launching him to space or to reduce him to nothing.

Stephen King's frightening boogeyman, Pennywise the Clown, has been preying on those with coulrophobia (fear of clowns) for the last 35 years. First introduced in the 1986 novel, It, portrayed by Tim Curry in the 1990 miniseries and Bill Skarsgard in the recent two-part remake, Pennywise is a shapeshifting ghoul with immense supernatural powers.
RELATED: 10 Pieces Of Fan Art Inspired By Stephen King Movies
In addition to changing form, Pennywise's powers include telepathy, telekinesis, invisibility, psionics, weather control, teleportation, superhuman strength, speed, and durability, and the ability to conjure fear-inducing illusions. Here are the most formidable anime characters who could best Pennywise in a fight.
10 Isaac Netero - Hunter X Hunter
Tumblr media
Despite his aging appearance, the former Chairman of the Hunter Association, Isaac Netero, is the most powerful character in all of Hunter X Hunter. With unfathomable strength that makes him nearly impervious, Isaac would use his immense speed, lightning-quick reflexes, and expert hand-to-hand combat to defeat Pennywise.
In addition to super stamina, agility, durability, and endurance, Isaac has a genius IQ and the ability to manipulate Nen, a parapsychological aura that he could use to counter Pennywise's illusions.
9 Jotaro Kujo - Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
Tumblr media
As one of the mightiest anime characters of all time, Jotaro Kujo would easily defeat Pennywise with his indefensible Star Platinum standability. When using Star Platinum, Jotaro can freeze time and attack his enemies with devastating blows both from within and outside of the time stoppage.
RELATED: It: 5 Reasons Why Tim Curry's Pennywise Was Iconic (& 5 Why Bill Slarsgard's Was Nightmare Fuel)
With immense knowledge and intelligence, Jotaro could also outwit Pennywise by tricking and bluffing his way out of harm. Pennywise preys on fear, but Jotaro would be able to sense that and counter the clown's biggest strength with his unmatched psychological warfare.
8 Kageyama Shigeo - Mob Psycho 100
Tumblr media
Also known as Mob, Kageyama Shigeo is the single-most omnipotent esper in the entire series. He would make an ideal match with Pennywise because he could use his immense psychic powers to neutralize the killer clown's trademark fear-mongering.
Moreover, Mob has the mental strength to kill an enemy with a single thought. This unparalleled power would prevent Pennywise from using fear to create illusions in Mob's mind and render him ineffective as a result. With the ability to astrally project and enter the minds of his enemies, Mob could defeat Pennywise without lifting a single finger.
7 Alucard - Hellsing Ultimate
Tumblr media
Considered the most destructive weapon in the Hellsing Corporation, Alucard is an omnipotent, immortal manifestation of Dracula. Since he cannot be killed, he would destroy Pennywise with this wide array of supernatural skills.
RELATED: 10 Great Vampire Movies That Have Nothing To Do With Bram Stoker
The mightiest vampire alive has superhuman strength, speed, reflexes, endurance, and the ability to regenerate instantly, walk through solid objects, morph into a dark reddish mist to attack his enemies, consume and manipulate blood, absorb souls and channel their energy, and shapeshift into any object of his desire. He also possesses telepathy, telekinesis, hypnosis, and the ability to control the weather and defy gravity.
6 Eren Yeager - Attack On Titan
Tumblr media
The main protagonist of Attack on Titan, Eren Yeager would make easy work of Pennywise with his unique skillset and superior fighting acumen. In addition to superhuman strength and speed, Eren can heal rapidly and regenerate body parts instantly.
But the main reason Eren would defeat Pennywise is his superior shapeshifting abilities. Eren can not only transform into a Titan 15-meters tall, but he also controls the Founding Titan power, which allows him to command an army of 50-foot-tall Titans to attack his enemies. Even if that fails to work, Eren can wield the mighty War Hammer Titan.
5 Aang - Avatar: The Last Airbender
Tumblr media
As one of the rare few Avatars who can bend all five powerful elements - air, earth, energy, fire, and water - Aang would be a mighty foe for Pennywise to defeat. No matter where Pennywise chooses to attack the reincarnated spirit, Aang could counter by expertly harnessing the almighty natural forces.
RELATED: Avatar: The Last Airbender: 10 Greatest Betrayals
Aang can also communicate with his past lives in order to gain advice and seek guidance to help him conquer his enemies. In addition to expert combat skills, Aang can also use his trademark glider staff to fend off assailants.
4 Inuyasha - Inuyasha
Tumblr media
Living as a half-blooded warrior devoted to slaying demons, the extremely powerful Inuyasha would wield a slew of supernatural skills to take Pennywise down in short order.
Translated as "Dog Demon," Inuyasha is a near-indestructible force who can fly, time travel, heal rapidly, wield razor-sharp claws, turn his blood into hardened projectiles, and detect Pennywise's presence from a great distance. However, Inuyasha's greatest strength comes from his fireproof Robe of the Fire Rat, and his signature five-foot-long Tessaiga yokai sword, which can absorb demonic energy and use it against them.
3 Naruto Uzumaki - Naruto
Tumblr media
One of the most celebrated anime characters of all time, Naruto Uzumaki would undoubtedly defeat Pennywise if the two crossed paths. The beloved ninja warrior can use such martial arts as ninjutsu and senjutsu, the former of which includes his signature Shadow Clone Technique.
RELATED: Naruto: The Main Characters Ranked By Fighting Ability
The technique allows Naruto to create an army of shadow clones that he can use to fight his enemies. Naruto also has immense chakra powers that enable him to enter Sixth Paths Sage Mode and control the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox, which grants him unparalleled fighting powers.
2 Son Goku - Dragon Ball Super
Tumblr media
Considered the most powerful warrior in the multiverse, Son Goku would handily defeat Pennywise in a tussle. Whether using his Rock, Scissors n' Paper technique, trademark blue-energy blasting Kamehameha move, Spirit Bomb, Dragon Fist, or Evil Contaminant Wave, Goku's supernatural powers exponentially outweigh Pennywise's.
Goku can also use Instant Transmission skills to detect ki from long distances and teleport to any destination. When that doesn't work, he can defeat Pennywise by tapping into his new Ultra Instinct power, which makes him unbeatable.
1 Saitama - One-Punch Man
Tumblr media
Like his namesake suggests, Saitama aka One-Punch Man would take Pennywise out with a single death blow. As the single most powerful anime character of all time, he would ensure Pennywise never made it out of the first round.
In addition to his devastatingly fatal right hand, Saitama spent three years honing his indestructible physique. As such, he can sustain any strike without feeling much damage. Moreover, Saitama is aware that he is the strongest fighter around. Since Pennywise preys on fear, Saitama would have no reason to feel terrified.

So I love the new Overwatch healer Moira..
1. She runs like Naruto
2. Basically uses a Kamehameha wave
3. Poses like JoJo
So you know.. I drew her as a nerd. It was necessary.

Well, this is going to be interesting.
-I fail to see how adding structure would be “bashing the writers.” and frankly I’m shocked you think these ideas are so worse off.
For reference and context, this is what they said:
Everytime someone on Tumblr writes a post about how they would have fixed RWBY volume 4 or 3 or whatever I just think “Holy shit, thank god we didn’t get that, it’s way worse”.
I mean maybe some of the ideas are better than what the writers decided to do, but I didn’t stumble upon any of these in any of those posts yet.
I really hate how everyone is bashing on the writers and then claiming they could have made up a better plot in five minutes when clearly… no. You can’t.
See the problem here: The OP never mentioned a specific point of criticism so where does this talk about structure come from? Unless, he believes that everything that the rwde tag says is correct which is the only way this makes sense and in that case, I need only point out Sturgen’s Law (AKA 90% of stuff is shit) to disprove him.
As fort the structure argument itself, I have never seen anyone argue about the story structure except that more needs to be done and in that case, it ruins the purpose of Volume 4 being a breather season dedicated to character and the world, not the plot. So it actually would damage the show, especially since RWBy has a very limited amount of time.
-The ideas of those who state that season ½ should have been more focused on character establishment, and interaction then moving on to chracter growth and development. Instead of season one being mostly jaune arc , If could be shortened to 2-3 episodes and focus on more of our cast.
Again, this is out of context and shouldn’t be here on the very basis alone that they are talking about Volumes 3 and 4, not 1 and 2. And even then, there was a lot of character interaction (Ruby and Yang, Ruby and Weiss, Weiss and Blake, Yang and Blake, Ruby and Jaune, Jaune and Pyrrha, Ren and Nora and Ruby and Penny in Volume 1 with Yang and Blake, Team RWBY and Team JNPR overall interactions and Penny and Ruby in Volume 20 and if you couldn’t tell what these characters are despite the show being very direct about showing us then you may need some glasses. (Joke)
Especially since the only arguments I’ve heard around character interaction is basically waste time on more interactions between Ren, Nora and pyrrha considering how little time we get every Volume as well as the fact that Volume 4 had it’s own conflict for Ren and Nora which just causes everything to pile up.
-Nora’s outline popping out episode one.
Not a writing complaint and you people think that a head writer has the time to seek out a minimal complaint around a different department while writing for another show and mentoring someone on writing yet another show. Still not valid anyway,
-A better establishment on dust and semblance.
The suggestions I’ve heard around Sembelnce and Dust is to ask menial and worthless details that normally people let go. Especially since you yourself recommended they use Stands from JoJo when I can ask questions like “How do Stands exist out of spiritual energy? How do they manifest? Why do they manifest? How does an abstract concept like mental or spiritual energy interact with the real world? Why do non Stand users ave no ability to see Stands? ect.” and I know they’ll never be answered because they are nitpicks and unimportant, evident about how you yourself never question this.
-Rather than having a scene were they talk about faunus vaguely mention the war, say racism is bad (obviously) and tell us faunus can see in the dark, maybe the faunus WOR should go in that episode? That way it seems more like a lesson.
You yourself have advocated fro WOR to be scrapped altogether so where would that go again? Also, by getting that out of the way in Volume 1, they can go ahead and go intoi more details in Volume 4. If they didn’t then that video would be bogged down by this stuff. Plus they were in a classroom so that makes sense: they are getting a lesson as well.
-Weiss’s escape could have been much smoother if she just made glyphs and walked out the window.
Semblances cost Aura to use and thus using it like that would leave her with very little to use should she get caught, which is easy considering the fact that her father is filthy rich and has ordered his employees to not let her go. Or would you remove that limit on Semblances and thus make them OP and have the character have no reason to lose?
-Also weiss still need to apologize for her racism, and we need a better establishment of her summoning as she just kinda learns to off screen which is not how you tell a story.
Except for the fact that she was learning how to summon by WInter in Volume 3 and could have just be training to make a complete summon, sort of like how Goku would train to use a full power Kamehameha?
And she does so indirectly by agreeing to bury the hatchet with Blake. And just as well, Blake treated Weiss like she was a mindless schnee as well so shouldn’t Blake apologixe as well? And at that point, it doesn’t do much.
-Making the white fang pure antagonist was a bad idea especiallu since their the minority fighting for racial equality so many irl minorities can relate and when you make them the badguys you alienate that side of the fandom.
Except that a few minorities in the fandom have said that the White Fang aren’t offensive and it has been noted that their radicalism is a very good representation of an oppressed group going too far (like BlackLivesMatter). Also, that promotes the idea that all minority fighting groups are automatically and universally right even though that would isolate the people who have been attacked by people who have been oppressed themselves by these groups and promotes a Black and White morality.
-Ruby/penny/pyhrra’s friendships were never built up on, heck ruby and pyrrha barely spoke so losing them so soon not only makes it seem odd for ruby’s character but the audience whom have/nor weren’t given a real connection to her.
You take that out of context, ignoring the fact that she saw her sister be arrested, Penny die, Roman die, Yang maimed and THEN Pyrrha die. You act as though this doesn’t compound on a person and if you do, well stay away from depressed people.
-The grimm breach: team cfvy/jnrp come and help easily destroy grimm then glynda seals up the hole.  Cinder calls this a collasal failure that doesn’t add up with the past scene.
Persuvasive speech: Cinder was sowing distrust and discord, using manipulative launguage to sway people’s hearts. Obviously seeing as she lied several other times as well.
Look rwby’s flawed and there are some genuinly great strucutual fixes to the show, throwing a hissy fit over it isn’t gonna clear the stains from thsi diamond, if you don’t agree with it fine but let’s not pretend not a single post here is worse that what I listed.
Fun Fact: Re:RWBY is still going on and is still an o0bjective failure in comparison to RWBY Volume 1. The one time someone tries to do better and they make 70% of amateur writing mistakes, more than RWBY itself did. And most of your points here either don’t apply to what the OP is saying, ignores certain aspects of the show or outright lies to be there. So yes, most RWDE posts are this way.
-I don’t have to be a master chef to tell you food shouldn’t be burnt.
And an amatuer shouldn’t act like they’re netter than the master chef as they scortch water while the master chief makes award winning meals, complains about the dish in ways that are objectively wrong and ignores all criticism themselves.
All I see here is you trying to silence someone for the apparent crime of not thinking rwde isn’t 100% right.
