I wish you would write a fic meme thing with Fae nonsense

I really loved your fae thing so I hope you don’t mind if I do a little drabble with it :3c

His people had many stories about the fae. All of them were next to meaningless now that Kurogane was actually in the fae realm, face to face with actual fae and forced to deal with them and their rules and laws and court by court spats. Still, if it got him home without having to sell his body or soul he was willing to steal a trinket that was already stolen… probably.

He wasn’t going to ask more questions than he needed to. Once he was home none of this was his problem anymore. 

The two fae that are helping him sneak into the Spring Court are stupidly beautiful, almost to the point of distraction. Almost. The men back home had been respectable, plain mostly in looks but strong and witty and with more than enough character to make up for any failings their physique might have. Compared to the fae though? Even the most flawlessly gorgeous human was less than homely.

Kurogane was never one swayed easily by looks, he went so far as to gently pride himself on seeing a person for who they were, not what they looked like, but between Kamui’s sharp eyes and nimble movements though the unruly tree roots and Yue’s flowing moonlight hair and pouting lips well… he was only human after all. 

“The air is warming,” Yue noted, his tone making the otherwise innocuous comment seem like a life or death statement. “We are drawing near the border.”

Snow still covered everything the eye could see, but as they crossed from Winter to Spring Kurogane could see the subtle changes. Budding leaves on trees, just beginning to emerge into life though the waning ice, the quiet drip drip drop of melting icicles in the distance, the sound of bird song that heralds the first southern winds. It was like a storybook from his childhood.

“Keep your wits about you, human,” Kamui said, glittering wings flicking agitatedly behind him. “The Spring Court is not a welcoming place, and it does not take prisoners.”

For a place so entrancing that sure did sound ominous. “Right,” he said at length. “So, what sort of character is the king of this court?”

Both fae pulled similar, disgusted faces, dark expressions that told of things that lived in nightmares. “He’s a foul creature,” Yue said. “He rules the Spring Court with no warmth or light in his heart. He closes his borders to the other Courts and takes joy in violence.”

“He’s a bastard and wretch,” Kamui added with venom. “He likes to cause pain. One day he’ll hurt the wrong person and he’ll be over thrown.”

Kurogane frowned. It sounded like all the other Courts had a bone to pick with this king. He wondered why they didn’t attack and do away with the tyrant and free Spring from his rule if he was causing so much trouble, but before he could ask, Yue put his hand up to halt them. Not far ahead, all but swallowed by cherry blossoms trees in full bloom, was a fortress-like castle. It loomed over the town that sprawled out beneath it like roots from a great tree. 

They had arrived.

I’m gonna go Eagle and Lantis for this because they’re underappreciated.

Lantis stress bakes, and his neighbor who only recently recovered from a major illness mentions offhand that it smells really good. Lantis brings him some since he can’t eat all the stuff he bakes and he doesn’t want it to go to waste (and also his neighbor is really cute and always lights up at the desserts). They finally get to know each other, since before Eagle was mostly in the hospital and Lantis was too quiet and shy (in a way that reads as stoic) for them to get to know each other. Of course they fall in love and move in together and Lantis still bakes but he has to keep Eagle from eating all the ingredients and the uncooked batter first
