It was a simple plan: ask a friend to give me a prompt that wouldn't end up being 10,000 words long for free day because the perfect Kanera moment wasn't jiving for me. The result? A 24,000 word sampling of hurt, comfort, smut, angst, and happy non-canon compliant endings that kind of has a perfect Kanera moment, all separated into their own sections so you, the reader, can choose your own adventure.

Set at the beginning and following through The Protector of Concord Dawn all the way to post-canon, you the awesome fucking reader that you are, will be able to chose from the following:

Option A:

Chapter 1 (rated T with CW): Hurt, No Comfort (PLEASE mind the content warning on this chapter) Chapter 2 (rated T): Comfort Chapter 3 (rated E): Emotional Hurt Comfort/Injury Recovery, Now in Extra Spicy Chapter 4 (rated T): Happy Fix-It Endings

Option B:

You can just throw away all intentions of doing anything productive for the next couple hours and cram all 24,100 words of this accidental bad boy into one rollercoaster ride of pain, grieving Kanan, comfort, sex, snarky doctors, and a big ol' fuck you canon finish.

Kanera Week Day 7: Perfect Kanera Moment/Free Day

I wrote a fic intended for the 2022 kanera week but didn't get it edited in time. Nonetheless, I figured I'd post it! The prompt was "alternate universe", so I wrote about Kanan meeting Hera, the jedi hero of the rebellion. Unfortunately, it happens behind enemy lines, and they have to fight their way out, together.

Anyway, I hope y’all don’t mind me filling @kaneraweek‘s Wednesday prompt (”On A Mission”) a day early, but my life is way too unpredictable to post anything on a timeline these days.  And I plan on needing all of Wednesday to recover from Andor.

Y’all know the drill. It’s explicit. I’m in solitary confinement in horny jail, and my only phone call went to @specseven, who can’t bail me out because she’s in the cell next to me. This fic is explicit.  Mind the tags.

Kanera Week 2022 1 -- AU

Kanera Week!! This is the first prompt, AU.

Word Count: 331

On the 13th anniversary of stopping the Empire at its core, a green Twi’lek wandered through Coruscant. The Empire was stopped the day Sidious announced its formation. 

The green Twi’lek was overwhelmed by the celebrations of the day, she needed a break. 

Hera was her name, already a famous pilot for keeping resurgences of the Empire at bay.

“Done with the party?” Asked a familiar voice behind her, a smirk hinted in his voice. Hera turned around to face him and she couldn’t help but smile. The dark skinned Jedi with green eyes had grown on her over the many years of being together. She didn’t know how to tell him, and she knew she shouldn’t. Jedi weren’t allowed to be in romantic relationships anyway.

“Kanan, you know I can’t deal with all of this! All the drinks, and people, and, and-”

“The inability to have a break?” He finished. Hera smiled and shook her head.

“Yes, the inability to have a break,” She concurred, walking closer to Kanan and resting her forehead on his chest.

“We don’t have to be here, y’know? We can go back to the Ghost and take a chill,” He proposed as he rested his chin on her head. He wrapped his arms around Hera’s waist, and he could feel her melt into him. 

He couldn’t help but smirk.

“Hera,” Kanan paused, “I love you.”

Hera froze in his arms. Did she hear that right?

“I-if you don’t feel the same way that’s fine,” Kanan began to say nervously. Hera let out the breath she didn’t know she was holding.

She quickly leaned up and kissed Kanan. A moment she had been waiting for since Force knows how long.

“We can go to the Ghost,” She whispered with a smile on her face. When her eyes met Kanan’s again, he immediately caught her lips in his. 

The fireworks were going off now, and set an array of colors over their figures.

“I love you too, Kanan.”

Kanera Week Day 2 Prompt: Celebration (@kaneraweek) “A game, Kanan? Seriously?” she asked, waving her hand in the generalized direction of the outpost.

“A game, Hera. Seriously,” he mocked, making the same motion that she had. “You see, Chopper offered–”

“Chopper offered?” she interrupted him before he could even finish his statement.

“Okay, I told Chopper that he could kill some Imps if he did me a favor. So he’s on the other side of the encampment with some holoprojections loaded up for distractions. You and I? We’re going to compare our relatively traumatic childhoods. Winner gets to shoot a stormie, loser takes a shot,” Kanan explained with that kiss me or kill me grin that he always wore.

Hera pondered it for a moment. She’d just wished for something to shoot at and yeah maybe part of his life had sucked but a great big part of that life was also spent in Coruscant in a giant Temple where he never wanted for anything. The worst that could happen was that he’d be drunk in an hour and she would have rid the galaxy of a dozen or so stormtroopers. 

Good enough for her.

The dreams are so real.

It isn’t until she feels the rough stubble against her shoulder, the soft lips behind her ear to draw her from her sadness that she considers that maybe he’s really there. She shakes in his arms anyway. Something still isn’t right.

The rumble of his voice that she can feel in her chest makes her grab the hand tightly and the fingers weave with hers.

They’re real, he’s real, they’re okay.

Promt : Kanan and Hera go to bed together after a long day.

Hera practically collapses on the bunk next to Kanan, fully dressed, and groans softly. She’s answered with a chuckle and rewarded with more room.

It’s not often that she’s willing to let anybody know that she’s reached that point of exhaustion, even Kanan.

It’s Hera’s job to make sure that everybody else is taken care of; she makes sure there’s enough junk food for Ezra, enough paint for Sabine, enough meat for Zeb, maintenance cycles for Chopper. She makes doubly sure that there’s enough time that she can reassure Kanan that what he’s doing for Ezra is right and that he’s doing it right. Add a rebellion in desperate need of resources, her crew and capabilities, mix well and what’s left is a grumpy and exhausted Twi’lek.

Because I feel like this is something that I never see mentioned or appreciated enough; can we just discuss the forehead kiss that obviously happens here? He's all nuzzled against her forehead and you see him pull back for just a second and then he cuddles her again? Yeah, I know. I'm a desperate Kanera fan looking for all the affection I can get where I can get it. But let's all just admire the forehead kiss that doesn't get enough attention.
