I was looking back at Ch. 95 where Hori tries to help Wakamatsu stop sparkling (apparently his attractiveness is problematic because he’s so gullible and will be taken advantage of). The best parts for me were the Horikashi parts, even though Kashima doesn’t technically appear.
First, when a senior girl comes in to talk about the gentlemanly guy, she keeps throwing in that he’s not as great as Kashima, to appease Hori.
When Hori goes to see this gentleman with his friend, his friend thinks that Hori actually is worried about Kashima’s reputation, and tries to get Hori to calm down over how different Wakamatsu is by saying Kashima won’t lose. So obviously everyone in his class knows he’s obsessed with Kashima. This also reminds me of the omake when Kashima went to his classroom dressed up “as a girl” and everyone figured it out right away. (My headcanon is that Hori recruited a lot of his classmates into the drama club—his friend in Ch. 95 shows up later in the flashback to Hori’s 1st year performance.)
Lastly, when Hori’s telling Wakamatsu to text Seo to get Wakamatsu stressed out and less sparkly, Hori says that Kashima tells him everything (and his friend thinks to himself that Wakamatsu is jealous since Kashima is texting Hori nonstop).
Anyway, this makes me think, again, of the time in Ch. 87 when Hori dressed Kashima up all feminine and they went to her classroom. Obviously her classmates recognize her right away, but there’s also the fact that Kashima’s classmate knows that Kashima’s face is Hori’s favorite, so Kashima’s classmates are well aware of Hori’s obsession as well (and considering how much Kashima talks about Hori, they must know about her obsession as well). Hori must visit her classroom on a regular enough basis for them to recognize him.
This reminds me of two instances when someone thinks Hori’s going to be jealous about Kashima. Once was in Ch. 57 when Kashima was pretending to be Mikoshiba’s girlfriend and Hori got all intense. The kid (I think he’s the same one who made the comment about Kashima’s face being Hori’s favorite in Ch. 87) gets scared for a second, thinking that Hori is jealous (but it turns out Hori’s just mad that Kashima is half-asssing her acting). The other one was when Kashima gets dressed up and Hori gets all intense about it. Mikoshiba thinks Hori is jealous, but Hori’s just upset that Kashima is dressed up badly (the wig is the wrong size).
Anyway, just think how insufferable Horikashi would be if they actually got together. Kashima is already pretty clinging with Hori. He’s usually the one getting annoyed at her for various reasons. They could probably continue their semi-violent, bickering relationship a la Nodame Cantabile, but if Hori actually started acting soft towards Kashima they would be one of those annoying couples who are always staring into each others’ eyes before making out without regard to the people around them.

My Trans-Lesbian-Awakening Characters lol
Haruka Tenoh (Sailor Moon)
Tumblr media
I believe Haruka was my first introduction to a lesbian and gender nonconforming (gnc) character! Discovering she was a girl along with Usagi and Minako blew my mind. The idea of a masc presenting girl was a revelation and I also found the fact other girls were attracted to her to be enviable, even when I watched the English version where her queerness was erased.
Trixie Tang (The Fairly Odd Parents)
Tumblr media
The episode "The Boy Who Would Be Queen" was cathartic for young me. Although the episode was about overcoming gender stereotypes, Trixie's story felt relatable from a trans perspective. Her male persona outside of school and her interests in doing "boy stuff" but feeling pressured to maintain a feminine image for social acceptance resonated with me deeply. It's a shame we never got to see this side of Trixie outside the one episode.
Kaoru Matsubara (Powerpuff Girls Z)
Tumblr media
I remember her introduction was her dodging a flock of fan girls on her skateboard. I was immediately pleased that the anime version of my favourite Powerpuff girl was that of a womanizing gender-bending skater girl lol. I felt annoyed along with her that she was forced to wear a skirt in her magical girl form.
Yui Goido (The World God Only Knows)
Tumblr media
Even with her out-of-nowhere appearance in the second season, I was immediately enthralled by her princely demeanor and the way she casually blurred gender roles. I had to read her arc in the manga that was tragically skipped over and it screamed trans. Yui's conflict was her being forced to be traditionally feminine. Her body swapping and getting to live as a boy seemed to have given her gender euphoria that when she returned to her body, she started wearing the boys' school uniform, changed her hair to make it more androgynous, and started using "boku" to refer to herself (which is a masculine pronoun). Her personality also becomes a lot more confident, it's like watching a trans masc person finally be able to be themselves! The show may not appeal to me now but Yui was a big comfort character.
Mettaton (Undertale)
Tumblr media
Mettaton's unique and subtle trans story felt so palpable to me that it made me resonate strongly with his character. When I learnt about his backstory, I felt genuine sympathy for him and his cousins. I love his charisma and how much queer energy he exudes!
Pearl (Steven Universe)
Tumblr media
Pearl will always be a deeply important character to me for how much she contributed to my queer actualization. I think it's because I grew up with her as the cartoon series ran throughout my entire teenhood that she has been the most pivotal character for me. Getting to see this character who epitomized lesbianism and growth felt integral to my understanding of the queer community and myself.
Special mentions of just my overall queer comfort characters lol:
Haruhi Fujioka (Ouran High School Host Club), Yuu Kashima (Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun), Double Trouble (She-Ra and The Princesses of Power), Kou Seiya (Sailor Moon), Carmen Sandiego (2019 version), Ryuko Matoi (Kill La Kill), Frankie Stein (Monster High), Marceline (Adventure Time)

Do you have any fem sengen headcanons 👀
Hullo there!
To be honest, I don’t think I have ever given them much thought 🤔 I usually tend to imagine fem sengen more or less the same as canon sengen (or my hc’d canon sengen if that makes any sense 😂). However, if I give it some thought, there might be some little differences (depending on how different their reality is from ours and their canon).
Separately
Senku
I wouldn’t be surprised if fem Senku would have been more frequently underestimated than “canon Senku”. However, she would be quick to shut everyone’s mouth as soon as she gets the chance to prove just how smart and capable she is. Since she went to the same school all her life, she probably doesn’t need to constantly prove herself, they all know who Senku Ishigami is, but if she has to go somewhere else (say going to Africa to research Ebola), she’s quick to build a reputation. It’s not that she cares much about that, she simply wants to make science unbothered.
The main critique she would have to face is her lack of manners and how “unlady-like” she acts. Even if she behaves the same as the canon Senku, the expectations are different and that, added to her lack of care about her appearance, would probably lead to her hearing comments such as “what a waste of a cute face”. She doesn’t care about this either, or at least not usually. She might have had a moment of self-doubt at some point of her life. Two if we count her “she likes me, she likes me not?” thoughts once she realizes she might have (potentially, maybe) developed feelings for Gen.
Gen
She probably had a harder start in her career as she had to ensure her place as a magician/mentalist instead of getting treated as a magician assistant (this idea is based on something I heard -can’t remember where, maybe Lucifer- and a quick search for “sexism in the magician community” on Google 😂).
She also probably, probably, recurs a lot more to the manipulation tactic of “playing dumb” and “acting all sweet and innocent” (similar to what Amaryllis does). She doesn’t have to like it, but she knows it gets the job done. In the long run, she uses this technique less though, as most people already know who she is and how scary she can actually be.
There is one thing that might have counted as a previous HC I had but I completely forgot about it until now which is fem Gen being like Haruka from Sailor Moon or Kashima from Gekkan Shōjo Nozaki-kun. I like the versatility canon Gen has and I suppose that would be the equivalent for fem Gen.
Together
Again, everything is pretty much the same 😅
Despite the initial doubts Senku might have had, she eventually concludes that she can use her brain to make her way to Gen’s heart (as if she hasn’t already), but still gets embarrassed the first time Gen genuinely calls her “pretty” or “cute” (she might have said it teasingly before, so it was easier to dismiss, not that it makes her words any less truth).
Gen's “charm technique”, Senku originally finds it irritating, not because she buys the act but because she thinks Gen is actually really capable and doesn’t need to play dumb to get what he wants. Eventually, she learns that, much like Gen, she doesn’t have to like it to recognize its effectiveness. At the end of the day that is what really matters, right?
Probably will continue thinking about this as I sleep, but that’s all I got for now.
Thank you for the ask! It was fun 💚💜

ᴛʜᴇ ɢʜᴏᴜʟɪꜱʜ ᴍʏᴛʜ ᴏꜰ ᴛᴇᴋᴇ-ᴛᴇᴋᴇ: ᴊᴀᴘᴀɴ’ꜱ ᴏɴʀʏŌ ᴡʜᴏ ᴇᴄʜᴏᴇꜱ ᴠᴇɴɢᴇᴀɴᴄᴇ
Tumblr media
When we step into the domain of Japan, we can experience how modernity aligns with ancient cultures. It is what makes Japan a vibrant and colorful city with the most jaw-dropping landscapes along with the rich history that follows this country. But what we fail to see is the eerie folklores and gruesome urban legends that lie buried beneath the art of Japan. If we delve deeper, we can uncover that these legends are the primal fear of the locals, and perhaps some tourists. These tales are whispered down from generations to generations to ignite the flame of fear which spreads like a wildfire among the society.
So join me as we venture through the story of Teke-Teke, a vengeful spirit who haunts the streets of Japan hoping to seize her thirst for revenge on those who had wronged her.
The legend of Teke-Teke has lots of variations but commonly she was once a young woman. One variation of this legend happened a few years after World War 2. It is the story of an office woman from Muroran, Hokkaido named Kashima Reiko who was abused and beaten horribly by a group of military men before they had left her to perish. Desperate for help, she called out yet her calls were not heard. So she took the drastic measure to crawl and find her savior - only for her to fall onto a railway track before a train sliced her into two, separating her upper half and lower half. The other adaptation of this legend begins with a young girl who was mistreated by her new classmates and pushed onto a railway track, and before she could escape the oncoming train; her body was severed at the waist.
The actual horrifying element of this legend is that Teke-Teke’s spirit was not able to rest due to the hate and ill-treatment that she had received. Therefore, she transformed to an onryo so that she could get her fair-share of revenge, although in an unfashioned manner.
Across Japan, Teke-Teke is presented as a young woman with long black hair who appears to not have a lower half. Instead of fingernails, she has sharp claws which allows her to drag her mutilated body. Her name derives from the sound she makes while crawling, which obviously is “Teke-Teke”. It is said that she wanders around holding a sharp object which seems similar to a scythe.
People have rumored that Teke-Teke usually lurks in deserted urban areas or in quiet train stations at night. Once she has spotted her potential victim, she charges at them at an alarming speed of 150 km/h with the help of her elbows and claws.
The ghastly part of the story occurs when Teke-Teke does indeed catch her prey. Once caught in her grasp, Teke-Teke will slice her victim in half at the waist, condemning them to the same fate she had once suffered.
If you believe that you might have a chance of surviving Teke-Teke… forget about it. There is no chance. With her speed, she would be able to pounce on you before you even have the time to react. So scratch out ‘surviving Teke-Teke’ from your bucket list.
As with many urban legends, the story of Teke-Teke has several variations, each adding its unique twist to the terrifying tale. In some versions, she asks her victims a riddle before attacking. If they answer incorrectly, she kills them immediately. Additionally, another alteration is included in her motive. Though most say her reason for killings are due to revenge, there are some who say she does not kill as she is wandering around in hopes of finding her legs. There is also another motive, that she kills so that people who bully or abuse others, stop doing so because of the fear evoked by her.
While the legend of Teke-Teke may live on for generations, this blog will not, so let me draw this journey to an end. We know that Teke-Teke is an echo of the urban legends that spreads in Japan, but this legend is more than just a scary, spine-chilling tattle tale. This legend serves as a reminder of the vile consequences of the society’s cruelty and neglect. Furthermore, this legend, like any other urban legends, acts as a portal to the not-so-colorful folktales of Japan as an escape to all the cute, Hayao Miyazaki film-like aesthetic of the country. Now, I believe, is the correct way to part ways, so until next time!
My deepest apologies as I had forgotten to mention earlier that this legend concludes that if you hear the story of Teke-Teke, you are sure to see the ghost of a woman without her legs at night after three days of discovering her tale… Well then, that being said, stay safe, stay cautious, definitely DO NOT go to abandoned areas or train stations and good luck to you in case you do see the onryo.

Title: True Horror
Rating:
Series: Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun
Characters: Nozaki, Chiyo, Waka and Hori
Summary: Nozaki needed to write a vampire story, but he could have never predicted the horror that came with it.
Archive of Our Own
--------------------
“What’s the least messy way to kill a vampire?”
Chiyo paused, blinked and glanced up from the page she was working on. “What?”
Nozaki leaned back in his chair. “Sorry, easiest method to deal with a vampire might be a better way to phrase it.”
It really doesn’t make it less confusing, Chiyo thought.
Waka tilted his head to the side. “Why are you asking about vampires?”
Hori sighed as he crossed his arms. “If this is for a story idea, won’t Ken just reject it?”
Nozaki lifted a finger. “Actually, he requested I use vampires as a prompt.”
“What?” everyone said in perfect unison.
Ken is usually so down to earth, Chiyo asked. Did he finally snap and thought it be easier to let Nozaki cut loose?!
“It’s for a special Halloween issue,” Nozaki continued. “Each of the manga artists got assigned a different type of monster to use as a prompt. Miyako got ‘werewolf’ for example.”
Chiyo frowned. “I’m scared to ask, but is she going to have to draw were-tankuis?”
Nozaki sighed. “I didn’t ask, but I’m the idea is on the table.” He shook his head. “Anyway, I got vampire, and I’m not sure what to do with it.”
“What’s the problem, though?” Waka asked. “Don’t you kill vampires by stabbing them through the heart?”
Hori crossed his arms in thought. “Yeah, but that’s a bit more gory than what Nozaki tends to draw.”
“Exactly. I have never even drawn blood, so I don’t know how to handle this,” Nozaki replied. “I know they can be destroyed by sunlight, but that just feels a bit anti-climatic to me.”
Chiyo brought out her phone and searched. “Let’s see, there’s a lot of vampire lore...Oh!” She held up her phone. “Apparently, you can distract a vampire by throwing objects on the floor in front of them.”
“How is that suppose to stop a vampire?” Waka asked.
“Apparently a vampire will be forced to count them all.”
“So,” Nozaki muttered as he sketched out a drawing. “It would look like this right?”
One panel showed Suzaki throwing beans on the ground with Mamiko behind him.
“Mamiko, run! This will distract him!”
The next panel was a vampire. “No! My one weakness!”
The third panel had the vampire sitting on the ground while yelling “I MUST COUNT!”
The last panel had Suzaki and Mamiko running away while Mamiko cried how smart Suzaki was.
“That seems a bit goofy,” Hori said, quietly.
“Won’t people think it’s another Setsubon story if you use beans?” Chiyo commented.
“Maybe you could add something to it,” Waka stroked his chin, “like maybe the vampire is really clumsy and trips?”
“That could work,” Chiyo replied and clapped her hands. “Oh, and maybe it’s a vampire that doesn’t like to bite people. That way you wouldn’t have to worry drawing that either.”
“Okay, but then how would this vampire get blood to survive?” Hori asked.
“Maybe the main characters hold a blood drive just for him,” Nozaki muttered. “But that’s more of a story for a comedy than a horror story.”
Chiyo rubbed her neck. “To be fair, comedy is more your style than horror anyway.”
“Yeah, we all recall how the last horror story you tried to write went,” Waka added.
“Fair point,” Nozaki replied. “Although, I still think a haunted jam jar has potential.”
It really doesn’t, Chiyo thought and glanced to Hori. “What do you think?”
Hori appeared lost in thought. “Kashima would look great as a vampire.”
“Hori?”
He cleared his throat. “Right, sorry,” he said and turned to Nozaki. “I vote comedy. If the vampire turned out friendly then you wouldn’t have to worry about killing it.”
“Good point,” Nozaki said as he turned back in his seat. “Comedy it is. I just hope the readers like it.”
TWO MONTHS LATER...
When Chiyo walked in the apartment she was instantly concerned.
Nozaki looked haunted as he stared at the pages of the latest issue of monthly girls romance.
“Nozaki?” She asked. “Are you alright?”
He looked up and Chiyo saw how pale he was. “That vampire story was a mistake.”
Oh no! She walked up. “Don’t tell me readers didn’t like it!”
Did they send in hate mail? Was he being harassed about it online?!
Nozaki cringed. “No, worse.”
He flipped the issue for Chiyo to see. “The vampire is ranking higher than Suzaki in the character polls!”
“This vampire is too cute!” read one comment.
“He’s so pathetic I just want to help him!” commented another.
Chiyo blinked and looked up. “Really?”
“I’ve created my own horror story.”
“You and I have different definitions of horror.”
OMAKE
Hori held up the costume. “Kasima, how do you feel about dressing up as a vampire for our next play?”
Kashima gave a thumbs up. “You had me at ‘dressing up’.

This is BL challenge for you (if you choose to accept them).
1.a) Please write your top 3 or top 5 favorite tropes in BL.
b) From each trope, write at least 3 BL that you love.
(Feel free if you want to write the reasons or not of why you love them).
2. a) What is the first BL that make you want to know more about and eventually love BL?
b) What is that one BL that have a special place in your heart (for whatever reason)?
The BL can be in in the form of manga, manhwa, manhua, books, tv series or movies.
Thanks so much if you want to answer this long ask.
Okay, this one feels a bit more like homework. Very minutely in the air of dudebro asking if a girl has ever seen anything other than shojo or something, though I doubt that's where this comes from. Mostly in the sense that I don't think I confidently remember the difference between a trope and a plot device? Let's hope for the best as I certainly never mind length. *gestures vaguely to both solicited and unsolicited rants*
I will include a disclaimer that I don't just read BL? I know that's the subject of the ask and that I definitely pontificate on MLM ships a ton but I won't say that I've read enough stories that didn't, in some way, give me an ick with toxicity, coercion or straight up assault to, in good faith, recommend them. There were probably more tropes I could have listed out but this should suffice. I tried to avoid things I've recommended before but such things can't always be helped.
TROPES (probably?)
Opposites Attract (specifically Sunshine/Grumpy, extrovert/introvert)
Naked Color by Amamiya 🌶️ (manga, complete) - to be fair, considering they are friends with benefits on the front end, it kind of feels more yaoi-territory but at the same time, navigating the awkwardness of a physical relationship when you want more without jeopardizing what you've already got? Valid. There's a few panels that get a bit dicey but, otherwise, you've got self sufficient rich guy x laissez-faire can barely be bothered to care for himself artist.
This Wonderful Season With You by Atsuko Yusen (manga, complete) - wholesome and endearing story of acceptance between a nerd and a former jock with a sprinkle of healing. Love to see it.
Enemies to Lovers (specifically Hero/Villain, Work Adversaries, etc.)
Contradict by Ohshima Kamome 🌶️ (manga, complete) - rivals, seemingly with the same role model, are locked in competition for years and unknowingly making each other better firefighters. Does this sound like anyone else we know? In BL in particular, the way they go from enemies to suddenly sleeping together is always whip lash inducing but here we are.
Ibitsu na Koi no Seesaw Game by Chiaki Kashima 🌶️ (manga, complete) - so this one is on the fence of problematic but, if you commit objectively funny crimes, you should not see jail time. Such is the case in this game of stray cat and mouse between a talented thief and police inspector with a unique arrangement.
Second Chance Romance
Kimi wa Natsu no Naka by Nagisa Furuya (manga, complete) - talk about the long game, this series (and the subsequent continuation) follows two high school students who seemingly share a love of movies. While it creates an impetus to get to know one another, it's not the only thing that bonds them.
There Are Things I Can't Tell You by Edako Mofumofu 🌶️ (manga, complete) - Probably the angstiest piece on the list but overall a tender story of how two childhood friends take the long way round to finally understanding their feelings and one another. Both characters are imperfect despite appearances and I think the care around developing their back stories and the impact it has on their ability to accept love is ultimately what I really like about it. Plus the fact that you can know someone for so long and so intimately and still not understand them.
Stuck Together
Keep Holding On by Kom (manhwa, complete) - okay, kind of a stretch and this more hits unrequited love, friends to lovers, etc. but I suppose when your moms were friends before you were born and you're forced to be friends from toddlers to high school, some aspect of that is "stuck together". One of the characters chalks it up to fate but you can decide.
Fukouchuu no Shiawase by Enzou 🌶️ (manga, complete) - A guy can't be lucky all the time so, when the universe demands balance, it pairs him with the God of Disaster. Somewhat domestic bliss ensues? Honestly, this was just a really funny read. Picture Noragami except Yato's love interest isn't a literal child. Also, take all the angst over his past and identity and shave it down to like.. 1/16th.
Idiot(s) in Love
Kimi ni Koisuru Hazu ga Nai by Shina Suzaka 🌶️ (manga, complete) - Pretty boy otaku with an embarrassing secret gets discovered by a coworker who seemed to be a bit cold toward him initially. Excited to have a friend to share his interest with, he doesn't even see the feelings his new friend so obviously has for him. Or recognize that the shojo romance he's been idealizing is right in front of him.
Sonna Me de Mite Kure by Icchokusen Moukon (manga, complete) - This is what would happen if Tatewaki Kuno from Ranma 1/2 was ever humbled, even once. Popular school president whose inner and outer monologue convinces us he's the shit happens to notice a background character that he becomes increasingly more aware of. Like, it's a BL, sure? But really, it's just silly and a bit over the top which makes it a funny read.
Atarashii Joushi wa Dotennen by Dan Ichikawa (manga, complete) - One, this story is funny even though it's not quite a BL? Like, affection is expressed but not acted on and I really like that this is a story about care or intimacy without being entirely centered around confession, angst, sex, etc. It's not a coming out story, it's just about the working relationships between a pod of dudes that have a silly appreciation for one another. Also, I think this has been recently animated which I'll for sure have to check out as I think I'd only gotten to like chapter 12?
Emotional Scars
Banana Fish by Akimi Yoshida (anime, complete) - Immediately, this is not a BL story and the person who tells you it is hates you and wants you to suffer. There's a laundry list of trigger warnings which, going in, if you think it'll be a silly goofy love story, you will be sorely disappointed and probably traumatized. But, even so, the connection that Ash and Eiji have is and will always be love. Soulmates. Despite everything Ash had been through, the sins he burdened himself with, Eiji never shied away from him and welcomed him with open arms. Despite the overall violence of the show, there was never any present between them which is integral to why I will still stand by the pairing. Additionally, in real life, terrible things happen to people that are outside of their control. There should be love stories that heal/forgive that, too.
NEONSCANDAL LORE
That's actually pretty recently with the Sasaki to Miyano anime which turned into reading the entire manga and, subsequently, opened the floodgates for other stories.
Honorable Mention: When Yuri on Ice crossed from sports anime to BL. You could definitely argue that that was the spark.
Back during my initial anime era, I think there weren't as many BL or MLM stories that were accessible, although a lot of anime wasn't accessible back then. You still had queer characters with Sailor Moon (main and side characters), Fushigi Yugi, Inuyasha (side characters), Ranma 1/2, etc. though I can't say it was always positive. The whole Junjo Romantica universe comes to mind and, I think, was reminiscent of yaoi back then which I wasn't into. BL wasn't really a thing. I think it should also be said that, back then, I also wasn't particularly seeking it out.
Subsequently, I think Sasaki to Miyano has a special place in my heart. Like, the whole conflict of the series is Miyano reconciling his feelings toward a very straightforward Sasaki without the angst of unsupportive or bigoted friends/side characters. Good for them. The whole story was just delicately rendered, I really enjoyed it. I circle back on this idea of engaging with queer content as a means of coming into your own identity (which Sasaki to Miyano demonstrates) because it resonates and the series created the path for that, in a way.

Natsuki: What do you think I made the invisibility suit for..? Natsuki: It's so that we can shake ourselves off a third-rate assassin (like him). The us of right now at least. {Kanji was third-rate assassin but furigana says oyaji = dad} Mafuyu: Huff... You're right. Mafuyu: Huff... Mafuyu: So I don't have to fight anymore, right? Mafuyu: Why am I suddenly feeling sleepy (now)?
Pg.10
Natsuki: Nonetheless, you've done a good job till now. Mafuyu: You're annoying, stupid big bro.... *Shin & Kaji look at the siblings and just smiled softly* *The small bomb has been dislodged from Mafuyu's body successfully* Carolina Reaper: But then... *Kaji suddenly realizes something & he looks alarmed*
Pg.11
Carolina Reaper: Will the bombs implanted in those brats blow up as expected? There's no point if they die while they're far away from the Order, right? Slur: It doesn't matter. What's important is that the explosion takes place in the museum. Carolina Reaper: ? Slur: The bomb has already been modified to ensure that it definitely does its job. I won't let Kashima get in our way.
Pg.12
Kaji, screaming: That bomb is still ticking!! Shin & Natsuki: !? Natsuki (monologue): I'm pretty sure I deactivated it... Kaji (?): Run– Shin (monologue): Mafuyu is in danger...!
Pg.13
*Shin quickly wraps the bomb using his hoodie and then he also takes one of Seba's ice bombs* Shin: I'm borrowing this, Seba! *Shin freezes the whole thing – his hoodie + bomb inside* {The ice bomb helps to freeze the bomb – this helps delay the explosion so Shin can buy some time to plan and make his exit. Great thinking Shin!} Shin (monologue): Those walls lead to the outside of the museum... Natsuki: Hey! What are you trying to– *Shin getting ready to punch through the wall*
Pg.14 & 15 (double spread)
*Shin broke through the wall with his punch and he's outside the building in mid-air right now together with the frozen bomb* *The bomb then explodes mid-air* Civilian: Arrggghhhh!!! Civilian: What the?! Was that an explosion?! Natsuki: SHIN!! *Small panel shows Shin guarding himself with his two arms up, from the explosion. But it's not certain if he makes it alive or not* Editor's note: Shin risked his life, broke the wall and threw the bomb outside!! Is he safe?!
{This week chapter is 15 pages long again.}

The inexperienced magical girl almost didn't finish her sentence before a hand fastened around her neck and was pulled away from the window, Seiko's scythe pulling back ready to decapitate her.
"What are you doing here?" Seiko's voice was cold. "Are you one of them...The corrupted?"
Tumblr media
"Corrupted? No! I am trying to find out what happened to my friend Goldenrod...My mascot said that they saw someone with a sctyhe. That could only mean it was you! Don't you know the rules? No killing other magical girls!" The inexperienced magical girl
"The rules mean nothing, in war they are the first casualty and you mascot are forcing me to save people from their doom!"
Tumblr media
Her grip tightened around the other girl's neck as here eyes bored into her eyes. As with everything she did her face was a blank mask.
"… this action, if carried out will escalate hostilities. Your murders will become a full fledged warzone… we will become unable to prevent human society from noticing… they will retaliate…" The girl said as she gasped for air.
A new voice stepped in.
"Durch die Leidenschaft meiner Seele."
The room around her faded into a very dark blue light, Jitsuko had just appeared. Without saying a word, Seiko tossed the other magical girl into the wall knocking her out.
She moved quickly towards the window and slid it open. The magical girl then leapt from the roof of the old gang hide out to a few meters away from where the Seiko was standing. Jitsuko gave her opponent a blank stare.
However, Jitsuko's was logical and masking emotions. A poker face was always safer than not. She was hear to protect a faye from harm.
Tumblr media
“...I hate to act like a garbage man, but if I have to take out the trash. So be it.” She said. "Let our Scythes clash."
That voice she knew it… Kashima was tossed aside and Seiko turned, a ring of dark energy gathering beneath her feet and she summoned her power. Her heavy scythe whirled as if it was lighter than air before the head was brought down with a thump that sent cracks screaking through the ground like frightened spiders.
Seiko seldom spoke before battle, there was seldom need to. When she appeared everyone knew what it meant and they either fought or fled. Her now impassive face surveyed Jitsuko coldly before her foot was lifted and the scythe swung up to rest against her shoulder and without a work she turned her back on the girl and started walking slowly away. Then she stopped.
"Stay away… or I will kill you…"
She started walking again without looking back.
Tumblr media
“Kill me? If you are trying to make me laugh, then I sorely don’t get your sense of humor.” Jitsuko said.“…It’s my duty to protect the innocent”
She scanned the surroundings. This was a residential area, so no matter what they did someone or something would notice their fight. It was going to be best to make it look like a gas explosion.
Without warning, Jistuko attacked first, hurling black smog balls from her hands. Seiko was in her direct line of sight and couldn’t see the attack spells coming her way. This Reaper was not as effective with speedy foes; it was the one thing Jistuko remembered after studying the aftermath of battles Seiko had against other magical girls. She had her distraction set. Now it was time to set up an attack.
Jitsuko began to alter the spiritual energy around and began to charge at full speed while Seiko was coughing from the vile smelling smog Jitsuko had hurled at her. Now she was in striking range. With an strong thrust forward, her smaller scythe slashed Seiko right in the face and sent the heavier magical girl flying backward….
Seiko flew backwards , just after a somersault landed on her feet, pieces of asphalt skittering across the road as she quickly assessed the situation. The only logical thing, she leaped out of the way of Jiitsuko's next attack, her scythe glowing as it pulled her along and then vaulted over a an alley way fence, leading the other away.
Tumblr media
As Jitsuko followed though she would be met with an impassive face and a scythe already in motion to strike. It was her style to lead her scythe into a trap, disable them with a powerful strike, then finish them off.
“She expects me to follow her lead. No. She’s a master of close range fighting. I'm going to have to smoke her out. I know that she’ll start to strategize for the smog; however, she doesn’t know what other things I’ve been training to do. Let’s try baiting her out with some of Hana's other toys that I borrowed a while back.”
Jitsuko reached behind her back and pulled out what looked like several Magic 8 balls. She hurled them towards Seiko's location. As they reached the ground they exploded, causing thicker gas to drift over the residential area they were about to enter.
Instead of following Seiko directly over the fence, she leapt on to the roof of the house that Seiko was most likely trying to ambush from. Once again, she pulled out two more of Hana's explosives.’ These were a heavier kind. Jitsuko tossed them from the roof, hoping that they might bait Seiko out. As they crashed into the ground, they made a heavy thud.
Seiko knew it was a trap, it had to be, there was a heavy thud as the blow aimed for the pursuer that never came hit the wall of the house, and into this breach int he wall the witch disappeared. The mist would obscure everything, even for her foe so she had to be somewhere where she could see where the witch would emerge, Seiko doubted she was stupid enough to charge into the mist after her.
It came to the right of Jitsuko, the splintering of timbers and shattering of tiles as a scythe and girl came crashing up through the roof, by luck it was the same roof Jitsuko had taken shelter on and with her in sight she aimed and spun before letting go, her weapon sinning through the air like a shot put.
As the foe's scythe tore its way through the roof, splinters cut into Jitsuko's skin. Realizing that her gig was up, Jitsuko aimed for the roof of the next building over. This part of the city was built relatively close together and had very little space between.
Her landing was rough. Jitsuko teared up a little as she landed on her bleeding leg. Having precious little time, she tore a piece of her dress off and made a crude bandage. She forced herself forward. A part of her was glad that being a magical girl meant that she could push herself harder than a human could.
She leapt to the next roof top. This building had a covered porch, so she kneeled on top of it for now. Jitsuko then closed her eyes and summoned her own weapon. Her fiery scythe then appeared in her hand. She wasn’t sure if this tool was going to be enough to stop the foe; however, she had enough of a distance between herself and the Seiko to make use of her actual powers.
Jistuko could easily be simply overwhelmed with physical attacks. Now…She was going to use flame to counter Seiko. If she had to, Jitsuko had all of the elements at her usage.
“Der Brand.” She then said in German.
Tumblr media
Jitsuko was ready for Seiko. If the reaper came charging, she was going to be slashed in half by a wave of fire and steel.
Seiko saw Jitsuko get ready to engage, but Seiko had a few tricks up her sleeve too. She did not rush after her, but instead summoned dark crystals around her, each pointed like a sword and aimed for Seiko. Up until not the only sound from her had been the damage her scythe had been doing, but as she truck the back of each crystal it sounded like thunder, sending the deadly shards towards Seiko before she took off, again not towards Jitsuko but away from her, leaping down from the rooftop and into another apartment complex where she was hidden from view and dashed too, not even bothering to vault the wall but crashing directly through it, scythe first.
Tumblr media
".. Something's not right....Looks like I am going to have waste one of Hana's better toys to play it safe..."
Jitsuko then grabbed another tool of Hana's. This time it looked like a small metal box.
With that the roof top she sat upon turned into a bright light of flame. This was soon followed by a series of explosions caused by the crystals Seiko had summoned. With the added energy, suddenly Jitsuko was being overwhelmed with extra power. She then slammed onto her back.
" Of course. She had to have something I didn't know about."
She then felt a rumble. This wasn't from Seiko. The fire that had started to cause the gang hide out she stood on was to burn as well. Fearing she might have put someone in danger, she quickly glanced down and saw that there was no car. As luck would have it, the mob that owned this building was away..
Jitsuko once again bolted from the building onto other roofs. If one were to see her from the ground, it'd look like there was a figure flying through the night. She made sure she was enough of a distance away before scouting the scene again.
Tumblr media
"...I'll have to dig up more about this foe. Now that I have battled her, I can maybe figure a thing or two about her. Sigh.... I'll have to fix this leg when I get home..I need a break."

Amusing Reread - Romantic Comedy Edition
月刊少女野崎くん Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A very enjoyable read, perhaps it has much bigger portion in comedy than romance but when the romance moment appears it's so adorable, heart flutters 😳🫶 Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun is likely to be the first that pops up in mind when I think which romcom to casually reread. It's very fun to read, they have amusing adorable characters and pairs. From all characters I think I have a soft spot for Waka the most, I'm not sure why though, the most adorable? uwu
My most favorite pair is Seo Yuzuki & Wakamatsu Hirotaka~!! The most interesting, very adorable and hilarious! 🤣😍 I enjoy reading about them a lot. I always get (the most) excited when it's their turn in the story. They always make me laugh and I look forward to their romance development the most among all pairs. When all pairings become couples, it's very likely that Seo & Waka will be the couple who make my heart thrilled and joyfully dance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I also like Mikoshiba Mikoto & Nozaki Mayu interactions a lot, (I guess they will not be a pair .w.) they are cute and amusing. Hori Masayuki & Kashima Yuu pair is charming and delightful. Sakura Chiyo & Nozaki Umetarou (main pairing?) development seems to be the slowest though they are also funny, I wonder how their relationship develops. I also like their side couple, Seo Ryousuke & Miyako Yukari, they are amusing and I'm glad they start dating in recent update~! I'm excited to read more of them. All pairings in Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun are amusing and delightful~
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I wish they would have continued adapting all manga chapters in anime, anime was too short ;-;

Making them a flower crown
Mini scenario: You went in a date at a park, with your beloved, an idea comes to your mind to make their day.
Tumblr media
Warnings: none Genre: fluff
Series: Gakuen Babysitters Words' count: 564
Pairings: Ryuuchi Kashima × GN! Y/n, Keigo Saikawa × GN! Y/n, Yoshihito Usaida × GN! Y/n, Hayato Kamitani × GN! Y/n, Maria Inomata × GN! Y/n
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ryuuchi Kashima
To say he's flustered would be an understatement, he'll get all happy, timid and *insert nervous laughing*.
Will let you put it on his head and won't let it fall for any reason, may even ask you if you know any way to make it survive more time to keep it on his room.
Maybe tries to do one as well, under your teaching, he'll get it done and will get even happier now you two are matching! Lowkey will ask if you teach him to do one more for Kotaro.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Keigo Saikawa
Now, he knows what you're doing the moment he saw you picking that much flowers and a small smile appears ever since.
When you're done with it, he'll let you place it where it belongs and thanks you. Making sure to remark your ability to do this kind of cute little things that make him so happy even if it doesn't really appears like.
Would give you a whole bouquet of your favorite flowers as a thanks later on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yoshihito Usaida
You really caught him by surprise when he felt something being put on his face while he was napping on your lap. Yes, you picked many flowers before you settled down your little picnic, but he never expected a crown made out of them!
But that does not mean he doesn't appreciate it and ask you to help him make one for you too.
With some complications at first, you two finish taking a picture with your lovely crowns made partially by Usaida and mostly by you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hayato Kamitani
His stern glance might put you nervous on the making, but eventually you decided to make a little talk about some random topic while you were still entangling his crown.
When you finish, as you ask him if he wants you to put it on him, he'll simply bow a little as his answer. Careful to do not let it fall or mistreat it.
After sometime you'll notice a conflicted look on his face, with a faint pink on his cheeks, so you asked what's wrong. He plainly confessed he didn't quite understand how to make you one even as he watched the whole process and that there is no shop around that sells one for you.
At this you smile kindly, asking in return if he wants you to teach him.
By the end of the day you both have your crowns on display and maybe some five more you did just because you got excited seeing each other so happy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Maria Inomata
She at first thought you only wanted to make a bouquet, but as you got on the first half of your craft, she got surprised at your skill.
Just as you finished it, she would immediately ask you to place it on and ask how does she look. Blushing shyly when you reply she looks gorgeous.
She'd try and get frustrated as the stems kept on moving and weren't easy to tide at all. You'd firstly help her calm down as you noticed she's nervous under your gaze as well.
After it's over, she'll ask you what your favorite flower is to maybe or maybe not surprise you later on.

Why do I like reading shoujo so much?
My first reaction is to deflect. That’s how society is. Adults write and write sordid stories about teenagers all the time, a la Gossip Girl and Euphoria. Furthermore, we live in a man’s world, and men gobble up stuff which is ostensibly for boys: superheroes and their ilk. But when women fangirl over stuff ostensibly for girls we’re belittled for being juvenile.
Even if it’s not an unusual problem, it still begs the question why. Why is the world so preoccupied with youth to the point that they have characters who are literal minors? I’ve actually read and enjoyed multiple josei works, but they’ve never inspired the type of hyperfixation that shoujo manga has inspired. Josei and seinen are complex and messy. I accept that messiness. But with shoujo like KWMS and GSNK things are simpler. There’s more room to play. The characters, no matter how developed, are still literally undeveloped. This can inspire future fic of what the characters will be like as adults. It also makes them more malleable. High schoolers exist in a liminal space. They can go anywhere, be anything. They have choices and the freedom to take those choices in hand.
Adult manga (not sexually explicit, but dealing with adulthood) is about limits. The characters are getting old. They’re leaving dreams behind. They’re settling in their careers or accepting that their relationships aren’t ideal. They’re compromising—because reality. Besides romance and friends, they also have to deal with a job and taking care of their parents and/or taking care of kids. I love these kinds of stories because they are a mirror of my own life, or things that I can realistically imagine having to deal with.
My high school days are behind me, and I have to say, I didn’t enjoy them that much. The teenage dramas I read about are less a reminder of my high school days than a high school fantasy—one where school is more of a background than a concern and parents hardly even make an appearance.
Contrast this to office worker josei. Even the most sexually explicit manga where you’d think the office space is just a convenient setting always has some office drama which is ultimately about worker competency. Love is Hard for Otaku is mostly about dating and being an otaku, but fitting into office culture and being competent at your job is inseparable part of it as well.
KWMS is actually fairly complex for shoujo. It acknowledges that some students have financial difficulties and it has Misaki compete with Usui academically and studying for college entrance exams is a big plot line, but most of the time she’s more concerned about school council activities in a hyperbolic manner. And despite the series being about the contrast between being a school president and a maid, more of the storylines center on her part-time job at the maid cafe. She enters into a relationship with a rich foreigner with a tragic backstory which causes them to have to endure a long-distance relationship. But somehow they overcome all of that. And Misaki’s family’s dire financial straits get resolved even before she marries into the .01%.
GSNK though? Those kids must all be frickin’ rich. They never seem to have any concerns about having money to go out to a cafe, buy manga, or buy clothes. Kashima is the only one with a job, and she’s probably just working there because the cafe needs staff. There’s maybe one chapter where three not-so-great students try to study together with poor results—but since these students aren’t very academically focused, it’s just played off for laughs. The best student (Kashima) also has some of the least common sense. The one with the actual least common sense (Wakamatsu) is the second best student out of the cast. The only time we’ve seen parents are when it was played for laughs how Nozaki could live away from home because 1) he had his own money and 2) he knew how to cook, though he was lacking in 3) romantic experience.
Shoujo is about the possibility of love, and that when you do fall in love, that it’s going to last a lifetime. It’s about one true pairings.
Josei is about navigating new relationships with the scars of your previous relationships. One of my favorite josei series, Kimi was Petto, is all about that. It’s about the uncertainty that the relationship you’re in is good enough to stand the test of time, the realities of finances, career, social pressure, familial acceptance, and sense of self.
Shoujo hardly ever touches on those topics, preferring to create a love triangle for manufactured conflict. Again, KWMS is a bit of an exception. There’s definitely the love triangle aspect because you need to look at the different possibilities without, like, having had those other possibilities, but it does at least address class differences and different family culture and how that can lead to social pressure for college and career paths (which is why Usui goes to college in the UK and Misaki feels like she needs to get into a more competitive college). In the meantime, Tsubaki-sensei has acknowledged her fans’ with for an endless summer, so that Hori will never graduate and go to college—which is kind of odd, considering that there’s a college so local that they work at the same cafe as Kashima. But still, if Hori were to be a college student, then he wouldn’t haunt the hallways of Roman Academy or be able to interact with Kashima in drama club.
So let’s get to the gist of it. Why do I write smut with high school characters. Well, I love these characters. And they’re in high school. And I’m a sucker for canon. So it makes sense to set these sex scenes in high school. It’s not that I’ve never aged up these characters, but when I do I run into problems, like the fact that Misaki and Usui don’t live in same country. Or that Hori and Kashima are actually dealing with some actual drama about their future careers and how to define a relationship. Or they have kids, which are a huge impediment to having sex.
I recently read about centering lives around friendship instead of romantic relationships, and what it is that creates barriers for friendships, platonic or not. You need to have time and a shared space and touch. Two of the three are really easy to come by in school, where you don’t just spend 8 hours a day kind of goofing off on your parents’ dime, but you also live close together. Not to dismiss the huge pressure some students have to study and get into an elite college, but you do have more free time on your hands as a student, just because you don’t have to spend that time paying bills or cleaning your own house. I really don’t know how Nozaki does it.

One simple fact
Around the time my heart chakra opened. Books and information as well and food and clothes as housing would basically just materialize in front of me inexplicably. I noticed it but just, what would one think? “UH, are you really the ghost of Christmas past? … Really!?”.
I was interested and confused but engaged and shocked I wasn't miserable anymore.
So this is when I just ‘came across’ tibetan diety embodiment meditation and also, well, one thing was this golden quis it deus sculpture and I was like well I’m just sitting here in a dojo with nothing to do - let's try the diety embodiment thing I read. did it like twice or something for 6 minutes in my life.
Well.
Ok that happened like it wasn't a dream and only looking back after 20 years does it have any significance.
The significance is that tibetan diety embodiment is vajrayana Buddhism that is, Buddhism mixed with the indigenous religion on tibet which predated Buddhism, well from further west I suppose.
This went east, picked up the tao, and han war tactics and mixed with well let's call it shugendo in Japan and ended up enshrined at kurama-dera temple. Which we can say was a locus for well aikijujutsu and:
Well maybe kashima-ryu kenjutsu being that the 7 sword schools of Kyoto could have come from 7 students of kiichi hogen. A.k.a. onichii hogen which is probably where sojobo came from.
Now than, kashima ryu, aikijujutsu and ‘shugendo’ is what turned into aikido and there I was just doing that?
Fudo-myo enshrined at kurama-dera is Michael. Ueshiba was doing the wave ON YOUTUBE.
Ya, read the transcript - ueshiba and his deshi signed in blood on kashima-ryu. and even if he didn't you can see the influence evidently in ueshibas technique and that kashima ryu guy.
So you simply can't, and permiacare doesn't, throw that out as 4 sho.
Ok so what? Because that was the very day my heart chakra opened and because that's when I felt these dieties were communicating with me which all wind up being the same diety or principle. Ganesha, Michael, Hermes (at that time). As in, elephant sculptures everywhere and this information appearing on websites and books, premonitions that were relevant and mystical experiences in reality where I attained abilities and healing leading to accomplishments.
My point is, I’m still the same person. I'm not coming out of mania or some grandiose delusion of self identity. I’ve learned something as usual and have an whoa an additional heart chakra and new and totally different outlook wherein my previous model is no longer relevant to me. All of my previous plans ideas and concepts feel no longer relevant. This happens a lot. I can't get myself to purchase a projector because my physical heart chest area cries out ‘no’ - as though it was wrong. And everything else now feels wrong to do as well - well kind of like staying in the nexus. I can't do something against my value system. I can't. I’ll die first. It also feels like a bad investment - this is a bad idea that will be ultimately self-destructive. Can't do it.
Additionally it is a 100% fact that I’ve had near permanent psychosis for my whole life - I thought it was normal. And I can look directly at specific cases of that at every point along the way so I can completely rule out drugs, or stressful events or poisoning or conspiracy or anything and we can see it it my mother and watch it progress and we can see something fucking foul as my mothers father.
Ok so it's very important to keep these things straight and clear. Because we don't and can't know and we have to make tests to see for ourselves if we are to better understand and learn and or something follow?
So, my nascent experience now is like well I’m 100% sure I'm immortal. 2 I don't understand how I can work or manage my affairs and therefore will 100% slowly die of exposure and go insane and that is 100% inhumane. I also want to die because I want to leave the earth. There's nothing for me here. Any life I would have would just be denying the obvious truth in my heart and I would only be pretending and doing what I’m told.
Because of all my experiences it's clear to me that ya, it's all destiny and there's no way to fight it - and that is what's relevant and matters as-in our relationships which I guess is our karma to work out so we can I dunno develop our careers?
So whatever I’m still doing it still makes sense and there's a clear path before me that is legal and I can afford and doesn't go against my values and I want to do it and I intuition and I’m engaged and interested and I like the terms and it's low stress, and I keep 2 masks now just in case.
Still.
It's not a question of life or death. I don't know what's going on. I’ve definitely made the decision to do it - I don't forsee I will get any help from anyone anywhere and would predict I’m headed to El Salvador.
I'm sure it's going to be 100% ok and I don't see any possible tragic outcome here no matter what.
Everything feels the same today, still can read energy, still have a blue heart. I eat once a day, drink water and otherwise sleep on CBD. Occasionally I hang out on a sunny porch.
Now the reason I can't live is because no one can. The nature of the terms of society are the terms of death. They can not be accepted and that is why it's all collapsing.
Ya you get it.
Ya today I felt a person was a cow in their past life, and I could see another person had bowel issues from drinking (not alcoholism).
I'm going to continue doing what seems like what to do. Feeling fine.

in your opinion who's up against who between Order members and Slur's group? do you think Gaku will have a rdmatch with Takamura?
I'm quite certain of Gaku VS Takamura 2.0, thou popular theories are Gaku VS Shin. I think we should get Gaku VS Shin for a bit before Takamura shows up (again since he always seems to be last to come lol) & joins the battle. This way everyone is happy hahah.
But going off my gut feeling i think Sakamoto & co. won't be joining the fight for this arc cuz they'll be busy trying to stop the explosion from happening so Slur's gang will be busy with the ORDER members. But there'll be resistance from ORDER so i think in this arc we'll have 3-way fights!
Anyhow it's been too long since my gut feeling hits bulls eye so i may be wrong altogether. Here's who i think will be pitched against who for the upcoming arc:
Slur VS Nagumo VS Sakamoto
Kumanomi VS Osaragi (+VS Kanaguri?)
Carolina Reaper VS Shishiba VS Amane
Haruma/Gozu/Tenkyu VS Kamihate VS Heisuke
-> Why I think Shishiba may be pitched against Carolina Reaper is cuz Shishi hates spicy food. Kumanomi's name has the bear kanji & Osaragi pictured Sakamoto as teddy bear before lol. My headcanon is thay there should be a sniper too in Slur's group so that person will versus Kamihate & Heisuke.
Need Gozu & Tenkyu to make appearance soon cuz Irdk who'd take them on & it's time we see their designs & feats. If sensei follows the name thingy again, then Tenkyu might be an archer. Also didn't include Kashima cuz i bet he's sitting this one out. I may be mistaken but there's one last ORDER member to be revealed, no?
Would be nice if Mafuyu & Toramaru return to Sakamoto & co. and fight against Slur -i believe Mafuyu would cuz of Natsuki & he's also on pretty good terms w Shin, but Toramaru is a guesswork cuz simp 😂 (i don't blame her!)

Title: Water Gun
Rating: G
Characters: Hori, Kashima, Drama Club
Summer Days
“Alright, here they are,” Hori said as he displayed the table filled with water guns. “Pick which one you want to use for rehearsal.”
Koji, one of the junior members sighed, as he picked up a green plastic one. “We’re really going to use water guns?”
“Well, we can’t use real guns,” Hori said as the rest of the members picked theirs and he snagged a blue  plastic gun. “And will probably help to get into character if you can actually feel being hit by a ‘bullet’.”
“I still think it’s kind of lame-HEY!”
Kimura, another junior member, pulled back her dripping gun as Koji shook the water off his face.
“Sorry, my finger slipped,” she said.
Hori raised an eyebrow, but decided to leave it be as he reached for the script. “Alright, let’s not waste anymore time.” He glanced around and frowned. “Where’s Kashima?”
“She’s not here yet,” one of the other senior members said from the back. “I saw her talking to a group of her fans on the way here.”
Hori rolled his eyes. “I’m giving her five minutes and then I’m fetching her. Now then-”
“Hey!”
Hori sighed and looked up.
Koji was again wiping his face while Kimura grinning like a cat given it’s cream.
His eyes twitched. “Guys, knock it off.”
“It’s not my fault,” Koji snapped and pointed. “Kimura keeps shooting me with the water gun.”
“But it was an accident,” she said in an overly innocent voice and then her eyes sharply narrowed. “Just like it was an ‘accident’ when you stepped on my crown.”
Hori pinched the bridge of his nose. Not this again.
Koji tossed his hands up in the air. ‘For the last time, I said I was sorry!”
“Sorry, doesn’t bring back the week I spent working on that thing!” Kimura snapped back. “Props aren’t easy to make you know.”
Koji glared and then held up the water gun.
“No, don’t-” Hori cried, but it was too late.
Not for Kimura, she ducked, however the club member behind her wasn’t so lucky and got struck in the face.
She yelped in shock and within seconds shot back at Koji. He managed to dodged, leaving the junior club member behind him to get hit.
The boy fumed and raised his own gun.
Hori was about to yell ‘Stop’ except another voice cut him off.
“I’m here,” Kashima cried as she appeared with four of her fangirls. “Sorry, I’m late.”
Time seemed to have slow down.
A shot of water went flying.
The targeted girl ducked.
Kashima was struck in the face.
All of the club members froze as Kashima yelped and wiped the water off her face.
“What the hell guys?!” she called.
No one could answer.
Everyone’s blood ran cold as Kashima’s fans glared down at the club with fury in their eyes.
After that, everything was a blur. Hori remember lots of yelling, a lot of water and a lot of wet clothes afterwords.
Needless to say, water guns were banned from the drama club after that.

🥋 Miyamoto Musashi (宮本 武蔵, c. 1584 – 13 June 1645)
🏯 Miyamoto Musashi was a renowned Japanese swordsman, philosopher, strategist, writer, and rōnin, known for his unique double-bladed swordsmanship and undefeated record in 61 duels. He is considered a Kensei, a sword-saint of Japan, and the founder of the Niten Ichi-ryū, or Nito Ichi-ryū, style of swordsmanship. His final years were spent authoring The Book of Five Rings and Dokkōdō, both of which were given to Terao Magonojō, his most important student, seven days before his death.
Musashi was born in Harima Province, Japan, in 1584, according to Niten Ki, an early biography of Musashi. His father, Shinmen Munisai, was an accomplished martial artist and master of the sword and jutte. Munisai was the son of Hirata Shōgen, a vassal of Shinmen Iga no Kami, the lord of Takayama Castle in the Yoshino district of Mimasaka Province. Hirata was allowed to use the Shinmen name, and Musashi claimed descent from the Fujiwara lineage.
Musashi's eczema developed in his infancy and adversely affected his appearance. Another story claims that he never took a bath because he did not want to be surprised unarmed. Musashi's first successful duel was at the age of 13, against a samurai named Arima Kihei who fought using the Kashima Shintō-ryū style, founded by Tsukahara Bokuden. Musashi defeated Kihei, marking his first victory in a series of 61 duels.
At the age of sixteen, Musashi defeated a powerful adept named Tadashima Akiyama, who came from Tajima Province. At the age of twenty-one, he went up to Kyōtō and fought duels with several adepts of the sword from famous schools, but he never lost. Musashi's dueling prowess made him a legend among samurai, and he became famous throughout Japan.
Musashi's swordsmanship style, Niten Ichi-ryū, was unique in that he used two swords simultaneously, a katana and a wakizashi. This technique, known as nitōjutsu, allowed Musashi to strike his opponent with both swords at the same time, giving him a significant advantage in battle. His style emphasized quick footwork, distancing, and fluidity, making it difficult for his opponents to land a strike.
Musashi's teachings on strategy and philosophy are preserved in his works, The Book of Five Rings and Dokkōdō. The Book of Five Rings primarily deals with the character of his Niten Ichi-ryū school, its practical martial art, and its generic significance. On the other hand, Dokkōdō deals with the ideas that lie behind it, as well as his life's philosophy in a few short aphoristic sentences.
In The Book of Five Rings, Musashi emphasizes the importance of mastering the basics before moving on to more advanced techniques. He advocates for a clear mind, devoid of distractions, and a focus on the present moment. Musashi also stresses the importance of adapting to changing circumstances, using flexibility and improvisation to overcome obstacles.
Dokkōdō, or The Path of Aloneness, is a collection of Musashi's thoughts on life and death. The book contains 21 precepts that cover topics such as self-control, discipline, and detachment. Musashi's philosophy is rooted in Zen Buddhism, and he advocates for a simple, austere lifestyle, free from material possessions and worldly distractions.
