I get not liking a theory, and to an extent yeah you can say fans got behind it(though clearly this theory was a canon plot point) but to say this:

To me is kinda hilarious 😂🤣 to say that the Dabi is Touya Todoroki wasn’t planned and was just “pushed by fans” and that’s why it became canon. Well it feels like you’re watching/reading the manga with your eyes closed because come on now! Like….

It was obviously the direction Horikoshi was going in take with Dabi, and was a clear path from the moment he appeared. Endeavor becomes number one, mysterious man watches him on the street:

Mysterious man joins the L.O.V, refuses to give his true identity and goes by the fake name Dabi.

Dabi has a strong fire power, much stronger than Endeavor’s and happens to burn from too much usage like Enji’s son(who was thought to be dead).

Has the same exact eye colour to Endeavor, and to Shouto’s left eye.

Has very clear strong feelings towards Endeavor, and towards Shouto. Literally targeted the Todoroki family more than once.

There are probably other things I could mention but I think these things clearly show it was an obvious path for Dabi, regardless of if fans got behind it or not! And yeah obviously when it became abundantly clear there was some kind of relation, and history between Dabi and the Todoroki’s. Fans got behind the theory quite fast, and it was one of the strongest theories in MHA but it was definitely a planned twist!

au in which touya ends up having to watch natsuo put his hands all over you because you took something offered to you at a sketchy warehouse party that has you panting and whimpering and burning up and his own hot hands can't provide you any comfort but his little brother's cool-quirked touch can

#touya can't take you to the hospital because you took the pill willingly and he doesn't want you to get in trouble #and he feels so guilty because HE'S the one who brought you to the stupid party anyway #your apartment is too far away and your roommates already think touya's bad news so he doesn't want to give them another reason to hate him #so he drags you back to his house to try and help you ride out the high #and you're kneeling on the floor just inside the door to the todoroki home half-dressed because you keep trying to peel off your clothes #with touya pleading with you in a frantic whisper to just stand up and make the short walk to his bedroom without waking up his siblings #and a bleary eyed natsuo (still up and studying for a test he has the next day) finds you and his brother in the doorway #and natsuo doesn't understand why you're clinging to touya and behaving so strangely #but he does know that you sound pretty when you whimper like that #and that the way that the dim light in the corridor catches in the sheen of sweat on your exposed throat makes his chest feel tight #tw drug use

Todofam enthusiasts we are being fed well this week. Dabi on the front cover of volume 39, todofam on the back cover and todobros in the extras! This truly was my Todoroki academia 😭😭

If this isn't proof enough that their arc isn't over yet and Hori will be giving the todofam arc the closure they deserve idk what is. Each one of them look so beautiful I'm in awe.
