The period that bridged the gap between the Ska Explosion of the late 1980’s & early 1990’s & the Ska/punk Boom of the early 2000’s. After the Ska Explosion bubble had burst & the media buzz around the genre had gone, ska once again became an unmentioned word in the music press. Only this time, unlike after the 2 tone era in the early 80’s, ska didn’t go away. There emerged a bunch of fab new bands who were determined to keep the ska flag flying proudly anyway. Along with some Ska Explosion survivors & some returning 2 tone legends, they forged an exciting new underground scene. Keeping The Faith features 50 of my favourite bands who refused to stop skanking between 1993 & 1999 & helped to build the UK ska scene that still exists today.
