okay but can we talk about the absolutely euphoric emotional payoff when nick finally tells adalind that he loves her? like the fear of never having a chance to say it finally became so real that he got over his fear of actually saying it and making it real. and then he does and it’s just *bites knuckles* so good.

the absolutely missed opportunity to have adalind as a defense attorney for wrongly accused or imprisoned wesen (and the correctly accused ones) and how she could have connected nick to a whole other side of the wesen world that even monroe and rosalee and bud don’t run in and how that keeps some of that hot antagonism alive between nick and adalind because as much as i love him he is a cop and thinks he’s always right about who did what and adalind just always thinks she’s right about everything in general and like they have fantastic little fights over people she’s defending but he’s so proud of her career and the way she defends people and definitely at one point she is defending someone he imprisoned and she gets to question him on the stand and he’s so annoyed at her poking holes in his case but also damn she’s so hot while doing it and they make out immediately afterwards like my god if they’d just done a full season 6 or just one more season, they could have really shown us what their life was going to look like beyond the immediate aftermath of forming a family and how they really, really do work

also also there’s a scene where she’s called to the station to stop an interrogation of one of her clients and she and nick engage in some petty back and forth which is amazing on multiple levels because the client is about to have the whiplash reaction of 1.) finding out the cop questioning them is a grimm and 2.) watching the weird way the lawyer and the grimm are staring at each other like they want to rip each others’ clothes off or kill each other followed swiftly by 3.) the client leaving the station because their lawyer got them off and seeing their lawyer peck a kiss on the cheek of the grimm cop and tell him to pick up more go-go squeeze pouches for kelly (who the fuck is kelly) on the way home

Oooh Grimm!!! I haven’t watched this since it was airing. Okay, with the understanding that I was cooing over Monroe/Rosalee most of the time and that I never saw the last season:

What made you ship it? They’re just so cute together! I wanted these kids to work it out.

What are your favorite things about the ship? I think the actors have good chemistry. Every time they talked in the early seasons I was like “just tell her and then go on monster hunting adventures and double dates with Monroe and Rosalee together!”

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? I wasn’t ever really in fandom spaces for this show so I’m not sure what opinions are unpopular. I hated what they did to Juliette in the show? When she went nonverbal-evil I stopped really caring about her character, and a lot of the show in general. I guess you could say Nick/post-evil Juliette is a no-ship for me, but I don't really remember that part of the show. 😅

Don't Ship It: Nick & Adalind

Why don't you ship it? The actors just didn’t have chemistry. And, in general, by the time the show got here the writing/production choices were bad and I was already checked out (when they killed Kelly in a cut scene, walking into a really obvious trap, I was pretty much done).

What would have made you like it? Usually I am all for banging your archnemesis, so… some better writing/chemistry between the two? In general I didn’t think Adalind was an interesting character until she started the whole banging Nick/having Nick’s baby character reform... thing, and by that point (as already mentioned) I was frustrated with the show and not interested in any character development from her if it came at the expense of characters I liked more.

Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it? I would ship the heck out of this if there was a well written fic that fixed the show's weaknesses. (Which there very well may be. This is not a show I've ever read much fic for.)

11. Something you want to do again next year

Seeing live hockey. I've traveled to Germany at least once in the past few years, and I'd definitely love to go again. I would love to see "my" DEL team play at home sometime if I can make the travel work.

14. Favorite book you read last year

Already answered here. Other honorable mentions would be: Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros, Something Wild & Wonderful by Anita Kelly - and there are many more that I'm not sure if I read this year or last one. Many, many fantasy novels, a lot of them queer. Romance and happiness and intrigue and... This is what having a librarian friend does for you...

19. What're you excited about for next year

Hopefully finally getting out of the job I fucking hate and away from the boss who actively makes me miserable. But also planning to take a trip to London to watch all the theater things with @whatsaboomlakalaka so we can scream at each other in person for once. The big dream would be going to North-America for NHL hockey, but that might be too much before the job thing is resolved.

Alexander (Grimm) - Crossover AU - Chapter 32

For the next few weeks, you spend it with Nick and his family.

After a day or two he’d returned to work, so had Adalind. She’d gladly accepted the offer of you babysitting Kelly. The infant seemed to bring you ease and she didn’t have to worry about paying a babysitter. It was a win-win. 

On days that Nick has off, he spends it showing you the basics. All of his weapons, how to wield them. How to protect yourself. You have to say that when he brought you into the trailer, you never thought that someday you would become a part of that legacy. You’ve never been a fighter. Like your father, your default setting is running away. Especially with how often you piss people off. 

One particular evening you see him searching for a book. You don’t pay much mind to it. You’re still memorizing some of the poisons that go with their chosen weapons. You only turn when you hear him laugh. It seems he found what he was looking for. He dusts off the book and when he opens it, you peek over. Your eyes run over what looks like a map of a family tree. His fingers brush over the names. You don’t miss the fleeting smile he wears when it lands on two names. 

“Your family.” 

He nods, hands moving to the side of the book. There’s an inked pen already sitting there. He turns to you and you raise a brow. He doesn’t say anything, just moves back to the page. He makes a little extension right next to his name, and when you see him scribble, you almost tear up. 

“(Y/N) Jane. Now it’s official. You’re family.” 

He writes a little note next to your name, placing the pen down and you just look back at him. 

“Family.” He repeats. 

You nod, wrapping your hands around his neck and he laughs, returning the embrace as he pats your back. 

You can’t express how much that gesture meant. Nick has done a lot for you. No amount of thanks will be enough, you just hope someday you’ll be able to do just a little to show your gratitude. 

Life goes on.

You’ve gotten used to being in the loft. 

It’s comforting. 

Yet..

You miss Alexander. 

You’ve been trying not to think about it, but it's difficult when everything seems to trigger a memory. Like when you watch movies with Nick and his family. Their laughter at the comedic scenes bring a sad smile. At some point you slip away, moving to your bed. As you get under the covers, your mind can’t help but go back to those memories. 

“Are you saying you can hypnotize anyone?” 

Seated in his office you grin. 

“You sound sacred, is there something you don’t want me to know about you?” You're sitting on his desk with your legs crossed, wiggling your brows playfully. 

He smirks himself. 

“I’d be happy to tell you anything, for the right price of course?” 

His eyes run over your legs appreciatively. The subtle glow behind his eyes always seems to make you tingle in the best way. 

“I-It’s not fair when you do that thing with your eyes.” 

“I’m not sure what you’re talking about.” 

“You know what I mean, the glowing thing with your eyes.”

“I’m at a loss, truly.” 

He stands, and you bite your lip when he walks around the desk, stopping right next to where your legs are dangling off. 

“D-Don’t you have work to finish?” 

“Work can wait.” 

He leans down and you immediately lift your head to meet his kiss. He smiles, picking your right off the desk. Your legs wrap around his waist, arms locking around his neck as you kiss him needily. He holds you to his body, lips just as hurried as your own. 

Your hand slides up the back of his neck, fingers sliding into his hair as you tug. He groans at the action and you’re convinced that you might just melt right there. Neither of you predict the door opening until it does and Benedict comes walking in. You both pull away the second you hear his voice. 

“Alexander, I've just received the…” 

He sputters, cheeks immediately turning red. 

“I-I’m terribly sorry!!” 

He’s out the door before either of you get a word out. The door slams and Alexander just turns back to you. 

“You should stop seducing me at work.” 

“You’re the one who seduced me!!” 

He just grins, leaning in and kissing you again. 

You were naive to just assume days would always be like that. 

You turn over in the bed, pressing your face into the pillow as you cry. 

“Are you sad?” 

Diana’s voice makes you jump. You turn to her, trying to wipe your eyes hurriedly. You straighten, shaking your head. 

“N-No I'm fine. Why aren’t you watching the movie with everyone else?” 

“I wanted to see if you were sad. Mommy says if your friends are sad you should try to look after them.” 

You can’t help but smile at her words. Diana is powerful, so you suppose sometimes you forget that she’s still very much a child. Inquisitive, empathetic. Given what she can see and do, it’s probably not going to do you any good to hide anything from her. In a way you both are the same. You tend to see things that others can’t.

“I am sad, but I don’t think it’s something that you have to worry about.” 

“Are you sure?” 

You nod, rubbing the remnants of your tears on the sleeve of your shirt. She walks over to you, and when she wraps her little arms around your shoulder, you laugh. The clear difference is size makes it impossible for her to reach all the way around your back. You pat hers, hugging back. She pulls away, wearing a smile. 

“Do you feel better?” 

You nod. 

“Much better. Thank you Diana.” 

“You’re welcome. Do you want some ice cream? It always makes me feel better.” 

“I’d like that. Can we eat it together?” 

She nods vigorously. 

“Of course!” 

Before anything else is said she goes running out the room to get the ice-cream. You just smile, until you see two people that look suspiciously like Kelly’s parents lurking in the doorway. 

“Really, are you guys serious?” 

Both Adalind and Nick pull back, sneaking away. You just find yourself laughing.

I have achieved ultimate bingo.

I'm not sure what my favorite movie of the bunch was, but "Nope," "Across the Spider-Verse," "the Black Phone," "Totally Killer," "Words on Bathroom Walls," and "the Batman" are all pretty up there.

I tried to watch a movie every Saturday of this year. I didn't hit them all, but I did manage to watch a whopping 33 movies, exposing myself to stories and genres that I normally wouldn't, and I'm very happy to have gotten that far.

I probably won't watch anywhere near that amount of movies in 2024 (I have other plans for the year that are going to be fairly time consuming), but this was a fun experience.

So I was playing my sims 3 legacy challenge in strangetown and Jenny smith Died

So I was like OH! She's family! Um- Okay... And I checked the family tree... OPHELIA IS A FUCKING ELDER!

anyway that prompted me to take curious family photos before they all died.

Part one - Jenny's Branch

Smith Nigmos

Johnny and Ophelia were highschool sweethearts and spent the years growing old together. In their 28+ years of marriage they managed to concieve three children. Brittney, Bethany, and Monte. \

Brittney has been hopping around from one old man to another for a while, looking for a wealthy husband to possibly take the fortune of, and has finally decided on one, Loki Beaker. A man arrested for the kidnapping and unethical expiramentation of Grimm Spector, an Unidentified Trash man, Polly Smith, Jenny Smith, Johnny Smith, Jill Smith, Kelly Smith, Mercedes Smith, and Tycho Curious. Good thing her father doesn't know!

Monte has been going through a... Phase... where he tries to burn down the house and kill his sister Beth. Maybe it has something to do with his aging parents?

Beth is a pretty normal kid. average grades, no boyfriend but looking for one. Hates her brother. She's her parent's pride and joy.

Smith-Grunt

Jill and Buck have it all. A nice house near town, but not too close, two beautiful little boys (With equally beautiful names), a housecat who is just the right kind of sassy, and quite recently a beautiful wedding.

How will Lorenzo and Marc react when they see their newest sibling, a girl?

How will Jill deal with her mommy dearest's death?

How will Buck treat his recently born brother?

Is the perfect family finally going to crack?

Smith-Jerkey

Kelly was told that nobody would ever love her because of her green skin frequently in highschool, but she proved them wrong.

She fell madly in love with Ellis after highschool and very quickly eloped. She ran away with him to his father's abandoned farm and led a picture perfect life. Cooking, Cleaning, Taking care of her perfect daughters Melody and Bobbie. She really had built the perfect life... With her first cousin.

Yeah... Ellis is her first Cousin. but if that wasn't bad enough, for their entire marriage he's been cheating on her with his second cousin. Doreen.

Wtf.

Smith

Mercedes was born a few weeks after her father died, which of course made her have no father figure for her childhood. She lived very close to her mom for her whole life, completley dependant on her. As she watched her oldest brother Johnny go out and get married and have children, then Jill, then even Kelly she got Jealous and rushed into things.

To call her a single mom would be wrong... Kind of. When she saw how great of a guy Ellis seemed to be she kinda hooked up with his brother Oliver... That was a bit of a mistake. Her mother got very angry with her for getting knocked up by a guy she didn't even know and kicked her out, to raise Raheem all alone.

Mercades wasn't done yet though... No- she wanted the life a smith is promised. Suburban home, tons of kids and a great husband. So she called Oliver back over, and he got her knocked up again

He then proceeded to call her a horrible woman and said he'd never hook up with her again, all but ending their relationship.

sincerely one of my most favorite things this show ever did was bring wu in on the grimm stuff. i loved wu already but my god somehow he gets even funnier after he knows what’s going on. and he’s like...the best cop of them all.

I’m watching Grimm and my biggest complaint 2-and-a-half seasons in is that there is no fucking way word hasn’t gotten out to the Wesen community that 1) there’s a Grimm in Portland 2) that he’s a cop 3) His fucking name. Dozens of Wesen had crossed paths with him and lived to tell the tale and 90% of the survivors know he’s a cop. Even taking into account the ones like Monroe and Bud who are his friends and willing to protect him, the rest of them would have immediately gone home and been like “So! Surprising news! I know that Grimms are real because today I met one. His name is Nick. We’re moving to Philadelphia.”

(Additionally, considering the Eisbiber all know who he is, and that he was trying to/willing to help them and that he’s let Bud live for literal years now, I find it really weird that rumors of a Grimm who protects Wesen hasn’t started spreading like wildfire. He helped the resistance. Why are we 2 and a half years into this and every single Wesen he runs into is still totally shocked that there’s a Grimm in Portland and that he isn’t going to kill them?)

This is one of those shows where I like it enough that I keep watching (mostly in the hopes that it’s gonna get good any minute now) but also it’s pissing me off a lot.

Grimm Finale

I know that the power and/or the ability to binge watch things has taken away the typical separation each episode has on each other. But despite all that, the impact of this entire tv show has not been diminished. It still felt like a magnitude 7.77 earth quake. I was very and still am shook by the entire experience. It wasn’t flawless but nonetheless it is definitely a must watch. I have no words to describe the roller coaster it put me through. Emotional or something else. I have no way of putting it.

Grimm will stay embedded in my mind for I don’t how long. It’s not showing signs of going away. Hyperfixation not so much.

Grimm Fix-It Idea

Because I've been thinking about Grimm lately and I didn't really like the last couple seasons so I thought, hey, why not get a little self-indulgent. It will become very apparent that I am a Nick/Juliette stan. If Nadalind is your cup of tea, that's great. I don't have anything against it, I just never got really invested in it since the show spent a good four seasons building the most badass power couple ever and I'm maybe a little bitter about that.

Also I haven't watched the show in a while and the last two seasons are a little hazy, so (jager)bear with me. Shut up that was a hilarious pun

Spoilers, obviously.

Let's keep everything up until Juliette becomes a hexenbiest. But, uh, instead of going evil because it's "in her nature" she just. Idk, becomes really ruthless. Like, take her regular Juliette traits—loyalty, defensiveness, etc—and dial them up to 11. I mean the finale already gives us a Grimm/hexenbiest power couple, so why can't it be Nick and Juliette? (And while that episode where everyone was in love with everyone else and Hank was really into himself was hilarious, I kept getting pulled out of it because I was just so much more invested in Nick/Juliette than I was in Nick/Adalind.)

Maybe Nick and Juliette still try to get rid of it, but Juliette quickly grows attached to her powers. This would be a great moment for a character beat. Nick could be trying to convince Juliette to turn back human, and Juliette says, "You hated it when you lost your powers, even though I thought it might be good for us. How can you ask me to give up my powers, now that I have them?" It could be a great moment to confront Nick's ego and how he takes Juliette's support for granted. It would also be a really organic way to pivot into Nick supporting his scary hexenbiest girlfriend in her morally dubious endeavours.

I also like the idea of Adalind joining the team, but instead of being totally good maybe she could transition into a Renard-adjacent role. (Speaking of Renard... let's come back to him later.) She's mostly with the gang but is still self-serving enough to be a loose cannon. What made her great was how self-serving and unpredictable she was, so it would make more sense for her to be mostly-good rogue rather than totally good. This would also give space for Renard, whose role Adalind now takes, to transition into a complete good guy. (Sorry, I want Renard to be good, sue me.) Part of what I loved about Adalind's character was how selfish she was, and how that part of her character clashed with her circumstances as a mother. I want to see her struggle between self-preservation and her love for Diana and Kelly.

On that note, maybe Kelly is the reason why she joins the gang in this scenario. In this universe she's not helping them turn Juliette back, but I'd love for them to have a face-off where maybe Juliette warns her not to put Nick in danger or something. I don't know, Bitsie Tulloch hot and deserves to be intimidating. This then serves as a pivot for Adalind to effectively switch sides, maybe realizing that Rosalee is willing to keep her and the baby safe. I really like the idea of naming the baby Kelly, so maybe at this point Adalind isn't sure what to name him and Nick and Juliette are willing to help raise the baby, so they name him Kelly.

Now, Renard. I know he's supposed to be self-serving and very morally dubious, and towards the end he becomes almost an antagonist. I know that. I know. But Sasha Roiz is just so dang charismatic and I can never forget that moment at the end of season 3 (?) where he's desperately putting together the antidote for Nick and trying to get it to him. That was the best Renard and I want him back. If I remember correctly in the later seasons he's sort of working for the royals (not exactly, but something similar that wanted Diana?). Well, what if in this universe he's actually a double agent. In fact, and I just had this idea as I was typing, imagine this: an episode where it seems like Juliette and Renard are working together for the bad guys. This is right after Juliette has revealed herself as a hexenbiest and we're not sure if she's willing to stop. We don't know what's going on, we're wondering if Juliette's turned evil, and in fact she's being referred to as Eve? Curious, very curious. And then at the end of the episode Juliette goes home to Nick, and we realize it's because she's pretending to be Renard's new hexenbiest companion under the alias of Eve (if we want to keep Adalind losing her powers, we can say it's because she's carrying a baby Grimm).

Monroe and Rosalee... can stay. They're perfect and I love them. Let them have their triplets. But I demand onscreen adult triplets in the epilogue alongside Kelly and Diana. It's what we deserve and we were robbed.

We can still have the Black Claw/Hadrian's Wall business, just with no Eve. They still have Trubel, and Nick and Juliette can help out on occasion. If I'm honest I don't really remember how this went in the show, but I feel like it wouldn't change much.

The entire finale... Yeah I'm not even going to touch that.

tldr I want my Nick/Juliette endgame and, more specifically, I want Grimm!Nick x Hexenbiest!Juliette endgame
