Egyptian sky god Horus, who has the head of a Lanner falcon and wears the double crown of a united Egypt. His right eye was the sun or morning star, representing power and quintessence, and his left eye was the moon or evening star, representing healing. Horus was associated with kingship, and pharaohs were considered his manifestation on Earth.

I am Seth, the Red.
I am Seth, great of magic.
I am Seth, lord of the wind.
I am Seth, lord of the storm.
I am Seth, lord of the desert.
I am Seth, the destructive one.
I am Seth, he with the great roar.
I am Seth, before whom the sky shakes.
I am Seth, he who is in the middle of fire.
I am Seth, the lord of power and strength.
I am Seth, he with great power at the tip of the Barque.
I am Seth, and I answered your call.
Were you aware, when you came to me?
Were you aware of what I would bring?
Were you aware that I would stick around?
Were you aware that I would tear your heart out of your broken ribs?
Were you aware that I would stand among the flaming sand as you cried out for help?
Were you aware that I would be there to help you?
Of course you were not.
That’s why I came.
You needed me.
You needed my lessons, the harder the better.
You needed to understand your rage more.
You needed to dance through the storm - no: with the storm.
You needed to find your may among the swirling dust devils and their dervish songs.
You needed to know how much you belong to the red sands, deadly and unforgiving, yet constellated with oases of peace.
And now that we’ve been through all that, tell me: would you really want me to go away?
Yeah. I thought so.
Uhm, yeah, sometimes I write my own devotional bits too. Sometimes someone inspires me and I listen and write. This time, it was Seth. The Red himself. So, a litte bit of devotion for him.

The ankh is a hieroglyphic symbol that stands for the term “life.”
In icongraphy of the Egyptian gods, especially in offering scenes, you see the gods holding an ankh in their right or left hands. This was something that was offered to the gods and sometimes to the pharaoh as well. It was given as a notion to represent the power to sustain life. Ankhs were placed onto sarcophagi to ensure life after death. The ankh is also associated with the sun, perhaps because without it life would cease to exist- A/p/e/p and Isfet would dominate the plains. Along with it being associated with fertility and light.

Hymn to Sekhmet
by Joey Rivers (ascendingaeons)
Tumblr media
O Sekhmet, Great Eye of Ra, the First and the Last Healer and Destroyer, Mother and Daughter You Who accepted the Command of Ra, Your Father To cleanse the Two Lands of Isfet But Your nature was too mighty, Great of Strength as You Are Wanton and unrestrained, You ravaged Earth as a purifying flame And as Ra looked on and saw His Eye, He was stricken with pause By the Will of the Sun, Your Rage was quieted by a crimson brew And into transformative slumber You fell, Great Goddess And from Your great Rage, Het-Heru rose A new Eye was christened, of eros sublime And you, Great Mother, knew the sadness of regret
You, Great Goddess, know the measure of rage unbound And so You Stand, Great Mother of War, in defense and duty Of the Principles and Consequences of Ma’at Your Children are many, Great Lady of Life Diverse in their multitudes, empowered by their tribulation
Yours is the soldier, Your Mighty Sekhem made flesh and bone Entrenched in a maelstrom of fire and blood Returning home to a nation that does not understand him
Yours is the survivor, a living branch of Your burning Will triumphant Endeavoring to rise above the quagmire of loss and agony Through You their struggle is transmuted into the golden light of ka ascendant
Yours is the mother, she who knows sacrifice and sleepless nights A font unyielding of love and pride, of smiles and laughter perfected They who bear the weight of the world so a child can know childhood
Yours is the healer, an alchemist of the ontological persuasion He who is humbled by the frailty beholden to human experience He who ushers Your Sekhem through the riptide of transformative loss
Yours is the artist, through whose passions course Your Divine Fire Who walks the scales of inspiration and madness, knowing Creation unfiltered An alchemist versed in the milieus of perception
For You, Great Goddess, are the very Force of Change You are that which makes men tremble so Such an unnecessary fear, of wisdom and experience untouched Were I You, I would feel such sadness But how You smile, Great One! How You laugh! How You fight! You are not “she who cowers before Apep!” NO! You are the Great Lioness Who rends Chaos asunder! You fight and rage and bite and tear Passion and emotion alive and unrestrained!
You are Love, Great Goddess You are Fear, Great Goddess You are Devotion, Great Goddess You are Loss, Great Goddess You are Health, Great Goddess You are Sickness, Great Goddess This is why I call You the Mother of Life Your Ka is the very essence of experience! Your Sekhem is the very wind of change!
When I first called upon You, timid and unsure, I beheld Your Gaze, a window of fire open before my face And as quickly as You Saw me, You left And again when I called to You with offering of water and bread Exhausted by grief and devotion, tirelessly sung from a caregiver’s heart You came to me and my eyes were opened to You! As I lay without sleep, You stood at my bedside Stroking my back with strong hands of fire Whispering strength and courage into my ear As a sentinel You walked with me, a Mother Lioness guarding Her cub Such loyalty and tenderness You showed And my eyes were forever opened to Your nature
You are the very Force of Creation, the Monad of Being From which stems those primordial principalities Love and Fear, Physis and Logos, Known and Unknown Order and Disorder, Life and Death, Dynamism and Stasis
I offer henu to You, Great Goddess of Creation The endless potentiality and movement of the living cosmos The Fires Divine that Become living sinews and living earth
I offer henu to Your Husband Ptah, the Cosmic Smith Patron of artisans, of those who tirelessly toil In the pursuit of Bringing Into Being but a shard of the Sacred Unmanifest
I offer henu to Your Son, the Beautiful Nefertem The Ageless Lotus that rose from the Benben Stone The First Splendid Light to Shine in the churning Waters of Nun
It was You Who held my right hand as I accepted the mark of a healer And embraced me as a Mother would Her graduating son I offer You my pain, Great Goddess So that You may transmute it into Strength I offer You my fear, Great Goddess So that You may transmute it into Courage I offer You my uncertainty, Great Goddess So that You may transmute it into Wisdom
Into Your Belly I give of myself to unleash my greatest potential To burst from Your Bosom, shining and emboldened For there is nothing that is beyond Your Reach, Great Mother It is for me, now, to See that nothing is beyond my own
Dua Sekhmet! Dua Sekhmet! Dua Sekhmet!

When i was a beginner at witchcraft and paganism back in 2019, witchtok was at its peak popularity.
And i remember seeing those tiktok skits where witches re-tell the messages they got from their deities in an overly simplified way.
Then i was wondering... How the
f🐬ck did that witchtoker's deity just tell them: ,,i want waffle fries!"
Beginner me was so confused 😵‍💫
So what i want to say is:
Don't be fooled. Sometimes witchy influencers (specifically TikTokers) try to oversimplify the messages they get from their deities, in order to fit them in the 15 second video format with a meme audio for comedy.
Don't be insecure if you don't get deep meaningful messages about your gods! ❤️ We are all different. Some of you maaaay get such messages, some may not! That's oki!

Sekhmet is a prominent goddess in ancient Egyptian. She is often depicted as a lioness-headed deity and is associated with war, destruction, healing, and protection. Sekhmet is considered a powerful and fierce goddess who could both cause and prevent epidemics and plagues. She was also seen as a protector of pharaohs and a symbol of their strength in battle. Sekhmet's worship was widespread in ancient Egypt, and she played a significant role in their religious beliefs and practices.
Sekhmet was often invoked or summoned for various reasons, including:
1. **Protection**: Sekhmet was seen as a fierce protector, particularly of the pharaohs and the Egyptian state. She could be called upon to guard against enemies and threats.
2. **Healing**: Paradoxically, Sekhmet was also associated with healing. She had the power to cure illnesses and epidemics, and her wrath could be turned into a force for healing.
3. **Warfare**: Sekhmet's fierce nature made her a symbol of strength in battle. Warriors might invoke her to grant them courage and victory in conflicts.
4. **Crisis Management**: During times of crisis, such as plagues or natural disasters, Sekhmet could be summoned to mitigate the damage or bring an end to the calamity.

May Sekhmet remove all obstacles and destroy harmful influences. My She smite the enemies of Her people, may Her Arrows sharp and swift protect the innocent, the truth, and the way.

The King of Scepters, also known as the King of Wands is a Nisu that leads with ambition, he understands power of will & determination. When he’s balanced he becomes a beacon of inspiration to those around him through his passion but when he’s imbalanced he becomes lustful for power which causes him to become prideful & impulsive. He represents the element of fire which fits his burning desires as fire is the spark of hope that pushes us to tap into our inner power to overcome tough odds. In the image the Nisu of Scepters is standing on top of a structure holding his scepter & looking up at the sky while below him is a sun disk & next to him is Bennu, both key symbols of Afurah’s presence as the sun is the spark of fire that gives all living things the energy to thrive through its divine radiance. Being born under this elemental aspect of the Divine Masculine can be a challenging journey just like the other aspects, this aspect in particular challenges men to control their hunger for power as is can not only burn down everything else around us like a volcano eruption it can also burn us down as men internally like the sun itself going into super nova implosion. A very intricate power gifted to Nisu of Scepters by Atum as they are gifted with the power of Duat the 4th realm, also known as the underworld or netherworld. When a Nisu of Scepters masters self control, he awakens the true potential of his will power & can become an indomitable force of nature.

A’ah, Iah, or Yah was a student of Thoth. Iah became associated with the moon, was a patron of pupils and students, and was the god who created the calendar. In some myths, it is Iah who Thoth bets with to earn the five epagomental days so Nut could have her children- Osiris, Set, Horus, Isis, Nephthys.
Offerings could consist of moonstone, moon imagery, pens and paper, ibis and/or falcon imagery. You can honor him by becoming a student yourself or meditating under the cresent or full moon.
Signs could consist of falcon or ibises- whether the animal is physically present or it is an increase in imagery. Signs could also consist of wanting to learn, wanting to become a student, or a call to research about the moon.
If you want a reading from this god or feel like he’s reaching out to you, I would love to do a reading for you. My etsy shop is SinfullyDivination but you can also access available readings at SinfullyDivination.weebly.com
