SV Star Wars AU where Shen Yuan transmigrates into a proxy for Padme.

I know the Obikin vibes are really strong with Bingqiu, but hear me out:

Shen Qingqiu is the fourteen-year-old(?!?!) King Elect (?!?!?!) of Qing Jing, a planet from the Cang Qiong sector that has been facing issues with the Trade Federation and has petitioned the Jedi Order for help.

"Shen Qingqiu" is also a role played by several similar-looking fourteen-year-old boys, except where Padme and her handmaids were all from more or less the same background, most of the servants conscripted for the Shen Qingqiu role are downtrodden slaves basically cast as expendable bodyguards, whose main advantage in this deal is that after Shen Qingqiu finishes his term as King then they get to go free.

Meaning, Shen Yuan and Shen Jiu are both expendable body doubles for the "real" Shen Qingqiu (in this case, Qiu Jianluo going by his royal name, with the "qiu" being deliberate rather than accidental).

Additional fun possibility: Qiu Jianluo has actually been dead since the trouble with the Trade Federation first escalated, and Shen Yuan and Shen Jiu have basically been Weekend At Bernie's-ing him because there's no time to elect a new king and if the Trade Federation's blockade isn't broken, everyone's immediate prospects are extremely bleak (and the odds of the Shens being sent to some prison camp instead of granted their freedom is very high).

Another additional fun possibility: the Trade Federation didn't actually kill Qiu Jianluo, Shen Jiu did, so not only do they have to maintain the charade, they also have to look for opportunities to drop Qiu Jianluo's corpse down a reactor core or something and make it look like he's died during the conflict in order to prevent any investigations that will look into pesky things like "time of death" or "how many stab wounds there are".

In the midst of all this, of course, there is the main plot of PIDW/SW, wherein Shen Qingqiu was originally one of several antagonists to excessively bully and dismay Jedi prodigy and future Chosen One Luo Binghe, a poor slave boy living on an ice planet and trying to win enough money via dangerous pod races to buy medicine for his dying mother. Featuring also young Jedi knights Liu Qingge and Yue Qi (the latter of whom seems to have some history with Shen Jiu...?), admittedly kickass Sith apprentice Mobei Jun, a certain future Chancellor from the Huan Hua sector, and sentient Sith holocron Meng Mo. And Airplane, probably as an up-and-coming member of the Jedi AgriCorps who basically has Count Dooku's plot duties (turn traitor and get killed) but is somehow also thoroughly entangled with Mobei Jun.

Guide dog/Blind EJ HCs under the cut ^^

Small disclaimer: I am not visually impaired beyond having thick ass glasses,, I tried doing research but EJ is obviously different than a human being with blindness and if I get anything wrong or forget to mention anything, please add on in the comments/reblogs with your own ideas! :]

-> Jack technically can see heat signatures, by clicking his tongue or making any kind of chit chat similar to echolocation.

-> However, seeing pure reds, oranges and blues can be VERY overwhelming, especially in the sunlight. Which is why he hunts in the dark, easier to see the warmth of people.

-> He still wants to function in the daylight, so he has a white cane that he put a plastic chain on for the ☆aesthetic☆

-> He wears glass eyes when outside, which makes him blend in incredibly well especially with his long emo hair.

-> His guide dog is a german shepherd-lab mix, and has enough energy to keep up with him when off-duty, considering Jack's inhuman-ness, while still having the intelligence to relax with him and be in work mode.

-> Feel free to give names for the doggie :3

-> He has a dog AND cane because depending on the day and his needs, sometimes he only has the dog, sometimes only the cane, sometimes both. He doesn't take the dog on missions or hunting for obvious reasons.

-> He has labels and can read braille because he does enjoy cooking meals for himself, and still has some memory left from before his eyes were removed, so he can use a knife and stuff like that with practice. And the labels make him independent, which is the most important part, and make some kickass techwear outfits.

-> Since screens dont have heat signatures to show you what's happening (I assume, I'm not that smart), when the proxies have movie nights, they try to choose movies that Jack had seen in the past, so he can enjoy them, or if it's based off a book, he listens to the audiobook (that's the main way he consumes media, along with music)

-> Despite the blindness, he's actually a great cook. He sometimes needs help from Tim when it comes to certain things, but he can pick seasonings and recipes fairly well. It's a good night when Jack is the one cooking dinner. Obviously, he keeps his human meat separate from animal meat, along with separate pots and pans for his own meals as to not cross contain and make the other proxies sick.

Summarizing your story ask game: Ascendancy is about various characters in a cool world with kickass dragons. The Fates (cool 3 headed dragon) are enemies of Midas (shitty tiny cobra dragon) and both the Fates and Midas can do magic to people to make them proxies in a silly battle. Other gods are always turf-warring, often by doing badass giant dragon fights. Then there is the biggest and most convoluted family tree known to man, and in that family tree is a special little boy called Chien. Also. Talisum is a little dragon guy with THE BIGGEST EARS.

a beast kickass mother unleashed - first of all, i'm not calling her a beast, that seems rude. but i wanted to select this option because just knowing how she did everything to protect pavetta and ciri, i think this is really where her 'lioness' moniker shines. i mean, regarding emhyr, if it were not for her who knows what would have happened to pavetta and ciri, and sooner! one of the worst things a parent can do is be careless about the safety of their child... i adore and respect that calanthe guarded them from evil, even when the evil was in the house:

the fandom is so mean smh - or, alternatively phrased, unfortunately, our apartment's wall is right up against that of the netflix fandom's. but the book fandom also doesn't treat her well, particularly on reddit i've read some nasty comments about her with armchair military direction, essentially saying that they could have done a better job at defending cintra... guys. it's a story, and in this story the fairytale land is trampled by the big evil empire - no matter how good of a queen or military strategist calanthe ever was, no matter how good of defense cintra had, the massacre of cintra was going to happen because its what the plot demanded. i also think it's inaccurate to lambast calanthe for the nilfgaardian invasion, because not only are the nilfgaardians depicted as some kind of medieval-esque fantasy blitzkrieg, in these circumstances it's actually depicted that calanthe did a great and heroic job defending cintra. compare and contrast with the other northern monarchs during time of contempt! foltest, hem hem!

that's a solid design right there - "Calanthe adjusted the narrow golden circlet on her curled ash-gray hair (...)" "Calanthe, her fingers tapping an emerald necklace, the smallest stone of which was the size of a bumblebee (...)" i adore her design, it's so wonderfully fantastical, which adds to the entire fairytale atmosphere of "a question of price" and cintra in general. and i also appreciate how it is mentioned that she gained weight in her grief following pavetta's death. i also really love the imagery of her in geralt's brokilonian vision: "The woman is wearing a silvery suit of armour, bloody, dented and punctured by the points of pikes or halberds. if anything happens to them i will cry - i guess, "when things happened to them i cried," the massacre of cintra especially told through geralt's vision in "sword of destiny" and dandelion's account in "something more" are crushing, and especially taking into account the end of calanthe's part in "something more" where she tells geralt that she feels it will be the last time they see each other. there was so much vision, foreshadowing, and premonition around her death that it's like a wave of dark molasses... it inches closer and closer, as a reader you're entirely powerless. and i believe calanthe herself felt this too, but refused to live any different way because she would not abandon her country and people.

Part 1/? (1940-1941)

Did you know the Lex Luthor we know and love today has changed wildly over the years? He looked extremely different from the suave, Machiavellian villain we know today, clad in green suits and authoritarianism.

Back, in his extremely "humble" (cough, cough egotistical) origin, Luthor (not Alexander Luthor, just Luthor) made his first appearance in Action Comics #23 "Europe At War (Part II)" (1940) as a puppet master organizing a proxy war between unspecified European Countries so he can take over the ashes. He was ginger, hyperintelligent and preferred a baggy muumuu to anything else more dignified.

He managed to actually a score a temporary hit against Superman- keyword: Temporary. However, his dignity was only skin deep because he'll flee to save his own skin in the snap of one's fingers.

His next appearance is in Superman #4 "Superman vs. Luthor" (1940), clad in a spiffy purple suit, ginger hair and also trees? He had the ability to transmit his face...he never uses it again.

He does still have that recognizable respect-hate relationship with the Spandex'd Buffguy. His drip also improved with a kickass bomber jacket.

Later on in the same issue- "Luthor's Undersea City" he has apparently built a secret layer in a glass-domed city on Atlantis. He also wears an absolutely hideous bodysuit showing off his emaciated physique.

In Superman #5 "Luthor's Incense Menace" (1940) he appears in a spiffy suit with gray hair and sees straight through Superman's disguise.

Superman #10 "The Invisible Luthor" (1941) Ah, now this bitch is more iconic. He's bald and wears...a weird frilly neckpiece with a bodysuit?

In Superman #12 "The Beasts of Luthor" (1941) we probably get the most recognizable Luthor design so far- he's buffer, bald and wearing green- but the outfit is like...a jacket? It looks like a labcoat mixed with a jumpsuit.

In Superman #13 "The Machinations of the Light!" (1941) he wears an actually pretty dop disguise, but he's still wearing a bowtie on a labcoat- which is certainly a choice of all time.
