pulps law is that whenever i get insane enough about something, i will inevitably attempt to make a persona 5 au, regardless of whether or not i am successful at it.

#pulp speaks #anyways guys youre never going to guess what au ive been thinking of lately .#i know the correct way to go about this is make sidestep the main character but you see #i will not be doing that. and actually in fact i will not be following the storyline of persona 5 in the slightest. because lol #but morgana exists in this au purely because i dont think the others would survive without him explaining what the metaverse is 💀#the rangers are a team of detective for the public sector in this au #and dr mortum is an unassuming everyday scientist that should not peak the rangers interest in any way. at all #in the video game that exists in my head the player can pick between playing julia or ricardo #it doesnt change the storyline that much but it does make the character relationships funky so #in my head chen is best friends with julia and argent is best friends with ricardo #chen and ortega stumble into the metaverse together so if you pick julia its two best friends in a life or death situation #but if you pick ricardo its your sisters best friend+kinda your boss in a life or death situation which personally i find extremely funny #regardless of which ortega you play with the other one doesnt know about the metaverse until id say like. the end of the first palace? beca #use thats when they start getting suspicious #and because this is ortega they follow them and find out about the metaverse that way #i dont think they become a phantom thief but i think they do end up covering the others asses irl #dr mortum still isnt actually a doctor but i think theyre the one providing medicine to them at the start of the game #theyre extremely wary of the rangers at the start and ortega can barely convince them to sell them things which they still charge-#-extremely high over. i think the turning point comes when they discover the metaverse because holy fuck they are So excited about it #both because of the implications and what the metaverse could be used For #chen is not thrilled about letting them know this but theyre kind of their supplier so its not like he can argue #i think mortum joins the phantom thieves eventually but as a navi #obviously its in their best interest to provide everything for free now that theyre part of the team but they still have to order supplies-#-so i think the way it works out in game is that theres certain days supplies can be ordered and you have to pay for it but the items can b #-picked up at any day of the week #but also i have no idea how that would work practically (its all in my head anyway so it doesnt actually matter but yk)#theres still more thoughts about this but im ✨running out of tags✨ and also i cannot organize my thoughts enough to explain it #im not main tagging this its going to be my silly self indulgent au for eternity ok

#The Poisons We Drink #aroaessidhe 2023 reads #this is…….a lot of cool ideas but also so many elements and high stakes that i kinda lost track of them #the pacing is weird. the worldbuilding is random?#why is brewing SO overpowered & risky for her but the other powers seem to have pretty normal low-scale risks?#it’s definitely ambitious and has some cool ideas and also some great characters just. didn’t execute as well as I’d like #as much as we’re told the main threat is the government trying to put through a Registration Act #most of the actual antagonism we see is from other Witchers?#like the systemic discrimination got a bit lost in the witcher family drama and murder politics #important things to say about oppression and police violence but like....idk #she has this ‘deviation’- essentially evil sentient magic inside her head (and you KNOW I love that trope)#but it’s barely explained and very underutilised? other than helping her get out of bad situations you could take it out & would barely #change anything #also it’s explained at the start that she’s an empath but other than the very occasional mention I kept forgetting #will also note that I bumped this up my tbr because I saw the author talking/promoting it as the MCs sister being aroace but no mention #maybe it’ll come up in a sequel (there weren’t really any places where it would have made sense to bring it up here) but idk #(just the way the author was asking for advice on how to write an ace character and stuff you’d assume that they’d….put that in the book?)#not really a critique of the book itself but anyway. maybe i am cool and fun to be around. i feel like people dont like me but ive hardly been around anyone in so long so i have no proof of that.

#the bin #there have been some people who seemed to wanna be friends. i wish it couldve happened.#there was one of my sisters old coworkers who said they wanted to be friends. i really wanted to get to know them and hangout but i didnt #have tbeir contact info and my sister kept randomly having falling outs with them bc shes the worst #they stopped wanting to be around my sister. apparently they still wanted to be my friend but i never got her contact info #she seemed so cool. she showed me her los and monster high collection one of the few times we hung out. i wish we coulda watched #barbie movies together or smth. but no.#how do you meet people? where do you meet people who like the some kinda stuff you do? is it all just luck based?#ive been thinking music shows might be a good idea to try n meet people. that seems to be where a lot of people meet their cool alt friends #i wish i wasnt so lost on how social stuff works. others seem to just make friends wherever. but whenever i talk to people it ends quickly #how do you turn an acquaintance into a friend? some people will meet somone once in a circumstance where theyd never run into them again #and theyll become friends. how do they do that? i know its not luck. how do people have conversations in ways that lead to that?#how do you even learn you have these common interests or that you just like their personality? i hardly know what to talk about that isnt #immediately relevant. i do pretty well socially in work settings bc i can make some casual conversation but its all pretty enpty #i feel so awful every second of the day. nothing distracts me from it. i just wanna talk to someone. watch a show with someone #hold soneones hand. not be alone all the time.#i miss telling jokes. its like such a big part of me and how i interact with people. i have bareky gotten to joke around with anyone in #months. i think that especially is crushing me honestly #i just. i feel SO BAD. every day feels so long and horrible. its only one more month and then things will change at least somewhat but #everyday is so hard to get through. every hour feels like forever. i hate it. i can do anything to feel better #i feel empty of everything besides horrible feelings

that SPN post + me flipping through a collection of story ideas has ne thinking of that time I looked at SPN and went "alright, if I wanted an Egyptian-American take on some of this, what would that be"

#cipher talk #I'm reluctant to talk about story ideas before actually having shared actual writing on them but man #This would be good I just kinda feel like I need more research/possibly a cowriter because of what one of my character concepts has implied #The idea is basically that there's a guy who handles monsters who has custody of his teen sister that's possessed by a zar spirit #And he can't help her because the way his father taught them to handle monsters is through violence not negotiation #And because they're in diaspora he can't find a zar congregation anyway and they're too poor to seek one out in Egypt #And while working he gets saved by a random guy he recognizes as taking odd jobs in the area #Who it turns out is the angel responsible for the indunation of the Nile in Egypt and is this weird half dead state because of the #Aswan Dam and left because he couldn't bear living in Egypt like that #I call him the angel-ghost and it's like #The process leading up to the Indunation still happens its just the last part that's weird #Like a record that gets stuck and skips right before the chorus in a song

But because I can, I'm gonna talk about my original universes and the little of story that they have

I have basically 3:

"Selestia"

Magical world, inspired by space. 3 kingdoms/planets (sun, moon and stars) LOTS of characters

I have the characters and a little idea of the world building but besides that.

"Gray & Gold"

Fantasy Universe™. Probably the easiest to make a webcomic or something but I'm not a writer so I don't really have a plot besides the characters backstories. Honestly the difficult part is writing the rivals to besties idea I have in my mind for de MCs

"ParaNormal"

Not the real name. I just don't have one.

It's the biggest because it's just Normal World + Monsters and stuff. Very urban fantasy and I just put most of my characters here so it's kinda bangue in plot and Worldbuilding

Example:

Ex-Monster Hunter Vampire Dad, his Vampire Daughter, his Assassin (or smth) Friend

Goth lil witch and her friend who's the town ghost, but Gothy doesn't know

Underground mafia monsters, they're a throuple

3 guys. Living in a 'abandoned' house, probably gonna become a poly couple. One of them is a monster probably. Very Slice of life

Girl who's entering witchcraft because her sibling just die and is now a ghost with memory loss. They live in the same 'abandoned' house as the last three.

Demon Girl and her witch Wife who now run a coffee shop after having a enemies to lovers/monster hunter X monster past

A demon obcessed with the human world , her cousin, her friend/love interest. Getting to know the world. Demon 1 also a fan of Demon Girl™ of the last point

And now things complicate because I just have ideas that would kinda mean that I have to separate the last 2 points from the rest of this universe + 2 new characters

A investigator who ends up summoning Demon 1 by accident in the middle of the investigation, and ends up with a crush on her?

Mafia demon lady in the real world, probably the cause for the investigation in the first place. Very much Big Mama form rottmnt vibes

Sigh. I wish I was a writer, or that things would just appear from my mind into the paper/computer screen. But oh well

more abt my au

I always thought it was interesting how Sabrina usually has really accurate insight into the cases they’re solving—unless her biases get in the way. I decided to make that more of an actual trait/recurring theme in my au by having her have at least one completely-out-there theory that’s obviously formed by whatever biases she’s clinging to at the time, before she lets them go and actually solves it. I thought I’d share the current working ideas for what those would be for the first seven books. They give kinda rough hints about other changes I’ve made.

Book 1: Granny Relda and Mr. Canis took them in and are lying to them about weird, impossible things because they’re using them for an unethical method acting experiment. They’re part of a fantasy movie/tv series, and trying to convince the girls it’s real so they can film genuine reactions from them. The family photos and evidence are all clever fakes, the strange stuff that happens is special effects, and the weird people are actors. (I think this works well because it gets rid of the ableist justification and explains more about who Sabrina is— it makes more sense than Granny being “crazy”, and shows that Sabrina expects adults to use them. It’s also a reference to the fact the Sisters Grimm was originally an idea for a tv show).

Book 2: Snow White committed the murders with the help of animal friends, Disney princess style. (This one is literally just because Snow is the only known Everafter at the school in this version of events. Wendell and his dad aren’t revealed until later).

Book 3: Granny Relda and Mr. Canis faked his death solely to teach Sabrina a lesson. (Which means it’s their fault she feels awful, she doesn’t actually need to feel guilty about anything she said to him, and she does not need to learn a lesson).

Book 4: Cobweb killed Oberon because he’s in love with Titania, and wanted to help her. The rest of the group actually agrees with this one. After they learn a bit more, they change it to “Titania killed Oberon and framed Cobweb because she found out about their secret relationship.” (There’s actually truth in both theories—they come to the wrong conclusion because they assume certain truths can’t be true at the same time).

Book 5: Charming was disappeared by the Scarlet Hand as part of a cover-up, and the weird stuff happening is to distract them from that. (This one makes more sense than the truth).

Book 6: The rest of the family secretly wants Mr. Canis to die because they care more about the “greater good“ than saving a member of their family.

Book 7: Daphne and Puck are actually secretly married in the future, and they’re trying to hide it from her because they’re afraid she’ll murder them.

#sorry about the tonal whiplash between the last two lmao #There is a reason for it. There are some hints #I think the way she’s kinda just framed as a bad person near the end of the series is limited #so I decided to focus on her unique traits #including:#‘I’ll save people no matter how anyone feels about it’ and ’i don’t care if my denial makes sense as long as I don’t have to face the truth #I’m happy to chat about it if anyone’s curious #or your ideas if you have any! #i’m so devastated for such. selfish reasons #i looked forward to celebrating festa with everyone so much #but instead i’m grieving a sibling and it feels wrong to engage with anything #even though i know it’s okay to do so if i want to #it’d definitely help take my mind off things i guess #but it’s kinda like that thing of ‘how/why would you be celebrating a boybands anniversary when your sister has just died’#and that’s what holds me back #i’ll never get this day back but i’ll also never get my sister back either so it’s just like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#i think i’m in the anger phase first #at the universe for timing it this way #for letting such a shitty thing happen right before a day i was supposed to be really happy and festive #i appreciate the messages some of you have sent me #trust me they’ve been helpful #also maybe this is corny to mention but i really do believe bts shows up for me exactly when i need them most #and yesterday while i was at home waiting for confirmation of my sister passing is when jungkook went live on weverse #when that notif popped up i was also laying in bed and i felt so comforted by his presence in that moment #it was like he was just Being there for me even tho he was just trying to go to sleep #but he provided me with a distraction even if it was just briefly and i’m never gonna forget that #he was like an angel to me in that moment and he didn’t even know #he just wanted company and he has no idea how much i needed him in that moment #i’d never felt lonelier or out of the loop while than during those hours and him going live for a bit felt like i was being looked after #the official time they called her death was about 15 or so minutes after his live turned was off #so i just appreciate being distracted during the time leading up to then #maybe that’s all super silly and parasocial but god! can anyone blame me #i’m just seeking comfort anyway i can at this point and bts always always always delivers #that’s why i’m so sad to be missing out on so much today #anyway this is way too long and i am just waiting for that performance to come out #i miss them and i miss everyone
