~🦩🦩🦩~
“Another simple mission too much for you, Y/N?”
Doffy ducked a bit as he sauntered into the room, his voice making your enemy freeze with her sea prism stone blade to your throat.
“Young mast–”
Your target smirked at you, pressing the tip of the blade into your flesh, just enough to cut your words.
“Are you good and scared,” she taunted, ignoring the powerful man at her back.
Is she fucking stupid? She has to know who he is.
Doffy grinned as he moved closer, until you saw yourself reflected in his sunglasses over your enemy’s head. Neither of the menacing figures before you moved or spoke for a moment, leaving your mind in chaos.
I failed him again. He’s not helping me. Why would he? I’m worthless.
The woman chuckled, showing no fear as the future king of the pirates towered over her. Until his large hand fisted her hair, lifting her until her toes barely touched the ground. A shocked cry left her lips, her satisfied smirk torn away as she struggled to free herself.
“You really can’t do anything on your own, can you?”
Humiliation poured over you, making you wish that the blade had cut you deeper. The prick of blood on your throat wasn’t nearly enough to drown your shame.
The woman laughed, even as she struggled in Doffy’s grasp. She choked on that laughter as the blade in her hand flew toward her own neck, tugged by invisible strings.
“Wait, you said–”
Those frantic eyes had tried to look toward the young master, but her words ended as a flood of red left her throat. Doffy laughed, watching your wide eyes while the woman thrashed. The blade clattered to the floor as a rain of bright, hot blood fell upon it. He took a step toward you, letting all that cherry red cascade down your chest as you stared into the woman’s dying eyes.
She reached for you, dragging her nails across your throat.
“You’re really gonna let this trash disrespect our family? Disrespect me,” Doffy questioned, as bile rose in your throat.
“N-No, I’m sorry young–”
“Finish it. Pick up the knife, and gut her.”
The woman was still struggling, still fighting, but you knew it wouldn’t be long.
I have to prove myself.
You couldn’t move.
“Do it, Y/N,” Doffy threatened, his voice low as he shoved her closer. That hot blood poured over your face as he lifted her higher.
You fell to your knees, somehow finding the blade through the red that had covered your eyes, spitting it out of your mouth as you used the wall to stand back up.
“There you go. Prove you can do something right, Y/N.”
Blinking through the blood, you held the blade to the woman’s stomach, throwing up before you could pierce her flesh.
Doffy dropped that lightly twitching body as you started to retch, stepping back to watch you cover your enemy in your own pathetic disgrace.
Choking on sobs as your stomach emptied over the nearly dead form, you tried to wipe and hide your face. There was no way to hide from Doffy, his manic grin looming near as he crouched beside you.
“Such a pathetic sight. To think that a member of my family could fail me like this,” he tutted, ripping your heart to shreds.
“I’m so sorry, young master, I–”
Your fingers slipped in the blood and sick on the floor as you tried to push yourself up, until your body moved on its own.
No. Not on its own.
Doffy moved it, his fingers extending as he controlled you. A disgusting marionette, dripping with the evidence of shame.
“So disappointing.”
The young master’s voice weighed you down, even as he held your body up. He directed your movements, forcing you to walk as though you were proud of the sticky failure on your skin.
I’m nothing. I don’t deserve to live. I don’t deserve his love.
~🦩🦩🦩~
“Y/N, hey, you’re okay–”
“I couldn’t do it, I’m too weak. I’m so sorry, young–”
Nausea tore through you, the fight to keep from being sick bringing you into the present. Into the mist. Law’s soothing voice was too full of concern, and you hated taking down your camouflage. Hated letting him see how weak you were.
“Y/N, can I check your–”
Law’s fingers were on you as soon as you nodded, slipping along the cold sweat that coated your skin as he checked your temperature and pulse.
“I’m fine,” you lied, your voice hoarse as if you had been sick.
His hands guided your trembling body as you sat up, your eyes caught on your own misty fingers.
Pathetic.
“Do you… wanna talk about it?”
A sharp laugh escaped you, flooding you with guilt. An apology died in your throat as you rubbed your hands over your arms, sliding through that layer of sweat.
“Can I take a shower?”
~
The “Surgeon of Death” waited outside the bathroom for you. You thought he was trying to help you feel safe by not letting anyone else in, until you remembered the concern, the pity on his face.
He’s making sure I don’t hurt myself.
You couldn’t meet his eyes as he tried to speak to you on the way to the galley, but a tiny smile broke through your heavy shame from Law’s poor attempt at small talk.
“Good morning, Y/N!” Penguin’s voice was too loud as he leaned close to grab breakfast at the counter. The stuffed penguin on his hat bobbed toward you while he spoke.
“Morning,” you greeted, with far less enthusiasm, only to be met with a small orchestra of cheerful voices calling to you, and their captain.
“Hope you didn’t mind the captain on your floor last night. He used to snore like a–”
“Penguin,” Law commanded, voice low as he gripped his crew mate’s wrist.
The man's friendly clap on your back had made your shoulders tense up, your jaw clenching as Doffy’s voice boomed through your mind.
‘Only I’m allowed to touch my little doll,’ Doffy rasped, pinching your thighs almost too hard as you sat in his lap. You tried not to stare at the blood spreading across the marble floor. ‘I don’t like to share.’
“Sure, sorry captain, sorry Y/N…” Penguin took a step back, dipping his head at Law’s frown.
“It’s okay,” you breathed, your lying smile forming so easily on your face before he led you to a table in the corner, away from his happy crew.
I’m like mist, sucking the joy and beauty out of a sunny place.
“Why don’t we skip the interview today,” Law suggested, tapping his pretty fingers on the table.
“But, don’t you nee–”
“I need you to be okay,” he interrupted, reaching those fingers to touch your wrist gently, barely, before pulling away. “Besides, I have something else in mind.”
Moving through the metal halls felt like a dream, like you’d get lost, and keep walking for years before you woke up. Until he spun the wheel to open a heavy door, leading you into the largest room you’d seen on this underwater ship.
“How nostalgic,” you teased, nodding your head toward the wall of weapons in what was clearly a training room.
“It’s been a while since you kicked my ass,” he said with a laugh, and you chewed your lip to fight your cheesy smile. He moved down the wall, pulling two daggers free before facing you. “Catch.”
“Wait,” you cried out, ready to move or mist away, but your body acted on its own. You caught the blade he’d thrown your way, gripping it as you smiled to yourself.
“I see you haven’t lost your reflexes,” he hummed, facing off with you.
“What if I had,” you scolded, your free hand on your hip.
“I knew it couldn’t hurt you. But your enemies might not,” he mused. “Why didn’t you strike? I gave you an opening.”
“What are you–” you laughed, shaking your head at him. “I’m not a fighter anymore. Besides, I don’t want to be mauled by a bear when your crew finds out I tried to attack you.”
His scowl was so sharp, you almost missed his movement. The second blade flew toward you, spinning clear with the ringing of metal as you blocked it with the first dagger.
“What the fuck, Law?”
He ignored you as he pulled a sword from the wall, striding your way with death in his eyes. Your body slid into a stance it hadn’t felt in years, and you gritted your teeth. Barely escaping Law’s attack, you used the dagger to deflect his blade as you rolled away.
“Why are–”
His sword came down over your head, and you misted out of reach, your breath heavy as anger and fear started to build.
“Law! Why–”
“Why do you keep saying you’re weak?”
You froze, unable to move as he plunged his sword through your chest, meeting nothing but mist.
“What happened to the girl that could kick my ass? Until I’d get her back, of course,” he grinned, offering his hand to help you up. Still frozen, you watched him sigh, dropping the sword as he sat down beside you.
“Why do you keep saying that you’re weak,” he repeated softly, his gaze stripping you to the bone.
“Because I am weak.”
The words held nothing but truth, a truth you’d long since accepted.
“Don’t be stupid,” he reprimanded, the insult bringing your eyes to his with a bit of shock and annoyance.
“Is that my doctor’s orders,” you growled, anger showing through your mask for the first time in ages. Pulling your knees up to your chest, you dug your nails into your shins, the comfort of the mild pain helping you stay grounded.
“Yes,” he deadpanned, your lips parting as you glared. He didn’t drop that judgemental look on his face, and it was too fucking much.
You hid the need to squirm by standing, picking up the weapons to hang back on the wall. The weight of a useless life pushed your shoulders down, until a tattooed hand touched yours, taking one of the daggers from you while you stared at the floor.
“When we were kids, you were just as strong of a fighter as I was. I don’t understand how that could change, Y/N,” he recalled, voice soft as he touched your chin. His eyes searched yours, as if you were a puzzle he couldn’t solve.
“I know you’re fierce. Pretty sure I’ve still got a few scars from you,” he laughed, that gentle sound making your eyes drift closed, a bittersweet smile on your lips.
“I’m not fierce,” you confessed, shivering as your skin burned where his fingers still held your chin. “I couldn’t keep up. My powers are so... I kept failing, just like they said I would.”
“Don’t be an idiot.”
You almost gaped at him again, but his hand on your chin kept your jaw from dropping. Pulling away, you crossed your arms, that irritation growing.
“Your bedside manner is shit, you know that?”
“We’re not in bed right now,” he countered, his confident voice cut short by his own awkward cough as he continued. “You know what I mean.”
“No, I don’t. I’m not a fighter anymore, Law. I can help you with my memories, you don’t need to do all of this.” He ignored your movements as you gestured to the wall of weapons, falling back into that frown he’s so good at.
“Get over it.”
“Excuse me?”
He thrust the handle of the dagger into your palm, leaning close.
“Everyone has to pull their weight on this ship. You’re gonna shadow the crew until we find a job that suits you. You’re gonna sit with me for interviews. And you’re gonna train, just like everyone else,” he commanded, your breath catching as you felt the authority pouring off of him. His fingers were still wrapped around yours, pressing the handle of the blade into your skin.
“Do you under–”
Law grunted with more surprise than pain as your other fist connected with his face. He took a step back, scalding eyes raking over you while he rubbed his jaw, but you cut him off before he could speak.
“Gotcha, with a capital ‘G,” you declared, moving your arms with the dagger to create a poor image of the letter ‘G.’
Everything else faded from your mind as Law started to laugh, holding himself up with his hands on his knees. You couldn’t help but join him, some good childhood memories finally filling the air between you.
“Does he still do that,” he asked, still breathless as he fought the laughter.
“Lau G won’t stop doing that until he’s dead and gone.”
He leaned against the wall of weapons, shaking his head as he pulled up ancient memories.
“That old man trained both of us, Y/N. You were neck and neck with me, even though I’d never admit it back then.”
Your face grew hot, hopefully masked by the wheezing laughter you were still recovering from. But shame quickly followed the pride from his praise, so you turned away to stretch, avoiding his discerning eyes.
“Let’s start with hand to hand,” he ordered softly. You let him take the blade from you, meeting him on the mats in the center of the large, echoey room. Bouncing on your heels, you fought to keep yourself in the present.
‘Can’t take care of a single mission. I’ve never had such a failure in my family before. What should I do with you?’
‘So misty, so flimsy! You’ll never be as strong as us. I bet the young master will throw you out soon.’
‘Why don’t you just focus on being pretty, dear. I heard the young master say that’s all you’re good for.’
“I won’t go easy on you," Law's threat broke through your foggy mind. He smirked, taunting you with a tilt to his head. “Kick my ass.”
Falling into a stance without a thought, you tried to be here, to be nothing but this. You couldn’t make the first move, getting annoyed as Law feinted, tapping you here or there until you finally fought back.
There he was. That silly, angry boy with that wicked smirk. The smirk that you needed to kick off that pretty face. Two years of rivalry, two years of tiny, vicious preteens sparring daily, came flooding back as the sounds filled the training room. The sounds of fists and shins connecting with bodies, breaths and grunts, snarky remarks and laughter.
It felt like no time had passed.
Until you noticed that thought, and shame hit you just before Law tackled you, taking your breath as he rode your body to the ground.
Coming back to yourself too late, he had you pinned, unable to work your arms or legs to get out of his grasp.
“I know you can do better than that,” he teased, his black hair caught in the sweat on his forehead as he stared down at you.
“Go fuck yourself,” you breathed, still winded with his weight on your body.
“With a capital ‘G,” he smirked, too much satisfaction on his face. He laughed as you squirmed harder, trying to free a hand to punch him with.
Now you were satisfied, hearing him grunt as he struggled to keep you in place. You freed one arm, but before you could make contact, Law changed position. He caught your wrist, his breathing ragged as his face hovered even closer to yours.
The air was different, shivers running through you as your bodies relaxed into each other. The struggle halted as you felt his breath on your lips.
His eyes were wide as he took you in, his brows creasing just a bit. Your chest warmed at the memory of a childhood crush, and a quick peck of a kiss before he disappeared. That sweet memory fell apart when he pulled himself off of you, a slight frown on his lips before he turned away.
Oh.
“That’s, uh,” he started, walking away as he avoided your gaze, “that’s enough for today. Let’s get cleaned up, and I’ll get your schedule for tomorrow. Good work, today.”
You held up a polite smile as sharp blades of ice seemed to carve into your empty chest. Wanting Law to kiss you seemed ridiculous. Selfish. You hadn’t realized that your stupid, absent heart was so delusional. And now you knew exactly why you shouldn’t think about him that way.
He’s disgusted by me. I’ll always be tainted. Ruined. I’m lucky he hasn’t put me out of my misery yet. Why would Law want to touch trash like me?
The thoughts crashed into you, and the moment wouldn’t stop replaying. The press of him, his amber eyes, the sweat and breath mixing between you.
And that frown as he pulled away.
It played on a loop as you walked through the submarine, repeating through another shower, a nearly silent lunch in the galley, and the tour. Law guided you with a hand drawn map, labeled with the various stations, and the crew members you’d be shadowing. A detailed weekly schedule filled the back of the paper, and you let out a quiet laugh at his attention to detail.
“Do you have any questions?”
“No, teacher,” you teased, breathing deep when he finally looked at you again.
“It’s captain,” he corrected as he pointed to the schedule. “You’ll be with Ikkaku tomorrow morning, then if you’re up for it, I'd like to do another interview.”
“Aye aye, captain.”
Just a twitch of his lips this time, but it was a relief. Until he left you in the galley with the crew, excusing himself to complete some “captain’s duties.”
He doesn’t even want to eat with me now. I probably make him sick.
“Hi, Y/N, you can sit with me! You know, if you want to…” Bepo trailed off, flipping from excited to glum in seconds.
“Thank you, Bepo,” you agreed, donning your cheerful voice as you sat across from him.
“Hey, I’m sorry about earlier,” Penguin said as he sat beside you, still too close for comfort after years of Doffy’s rules. “The captain’s the only one that taught us any manners, but I guess I still need some practice.”
“It’s al–”
“Give her some space, you’re being a creep,” Shachi cut in, sitting across from Penguin as he pointed a fork his way.
“I’m not a creep, you jerk–”
“The captain said to behave ourselves,” Bepo scolded, and you found a real smile on your lips as you saw the concern on his cute, furry face.
“Hey, you’re with me tomorrow, right?”
Ikkaku waved over the bear's shoulder, her dark brown curls making her instantly recognizable. You confirmed with a nod while the three boys at the table kept bickering.
“Let’s go talk about it.”
Arguments and insults floated through the air, and you were grateful for the rescue as you joined the only other non-man on the ship. She smirked as she nodded her head toward her crew mates.
“Don’t mind the dumbasses, they’re harmless.”
“Thanks,” you laughed, your appetite returning as you watched Ikkaku take a large bite, rolling her eyes at Bepo’s table.
Comfortable quiet sat with you, and you finally felt a moment of ease in your new world. Even with Law, you felt this energy of holding yourself up, of presenting yourself how you wanted him to see you. But this relaxed woman seemed friendly as she dug into her meal, without the pressure of a smile. She didn’t watch you, or force you into small talk, even when you followed her out of the galley to point out where you’d be working in the morning.
“I’m ‘Weps,’ so I’ll be showing you how to spot and kill enemies. Hopefully we’ll always be bored,” she huffed, pointing vaguely toward her station before guiding you back to the barracks.
“That’s you, right,” she asked, tapping on your door. “I’ll yell when it’s time to go.”
“Thank you,” you squeaked, staring for a moment as she turned away.
That small metal room seemed to amplify your worst thoughts, your loneliness echoing through the air like some torturous bell. You wished you had some sort of drug to knock yourself out. Instead, you curled on your side, trying not to think about how Law had cared enough to sleep on your floor last night, but could barely look at you after your near touch earlier.
~🦩🦩🦩~
“Don’t get all misty-eyed. That man should have known better than to touch my pretty doll,” Doffy declared, crouching down to press his palm into the sticky red puddle.
The blood of an unlucky man. A friendly man that tried to help you stay balanced while you walked down a flight of stairs in too-high heels.
“No one else will ever touch you,” Doffy breathed, pressing his bloody palm to your chest. He licked his lips as he dragged his fingers higher, painting your skin.
Doffy loves me. He’ll be King. Kings have to do this. They have to enforce their–
Your deep breaths and calming thoughts halted as his sticky hand gripped your face, digging into your cheeks to tilt your face up to his.
No more misty eyes.
You felt pride for your lack of tears, and for the smile he gave before he smoothed the hair from your face.
“You’re so pretty when you listen to me,” he praised, his grin deepening when he heard your pleased hum. “You know I’ll have to kill you too, right? You're my doll now. Letting someone touch you with their grubby fingers, and defile my toy sounds like another failure, huh, misty eyes?”
A soft noise escaped your lips as you struggled to be strong for him.
“Well,” he seethed, the veins in his forehead bulging as he shook your face in his bloody grip, “does my pretty doll have anything to say?”
“I-I’m yours, Doffy,” you promised, keeping your eyes dry as your body went loose, leaning into his hold.
“My body belongs to you, young mast– Doffy. I’d rather die than let someone defile your property.”
A bruising kiss took your breath, and you whined for him as he laid you on the marble floor. That spill of red beside you had finally stopped flowing.
“Don’t forget that, Y/N. I’m the only one that gets to defile my pretty doll. My disgusting, little toy. No one would want to touch you anyway. Not if they knew what you let me do to you.”
Doffy laughed as he proved it to you.
And you kept your eyes dry.
~🦩🦩🦩~
Last night, your mind had chosen memories over dreams. The lights and sounds of the sonar were lovely, yet too soothing, and Ikkaku caught you shaking yourself as you held in a yawn.
“Come on,” she ordered as she pushed you out of the weapons room, leading you through the halls. You pressed your fingers into your brow, trying to alleviate some of the pressure, not realizing where she was taking you until she called through a familiar door.
“Captain, I need to report a crew member who’s unfit for duty.”
“Wait, what,” you cried out, cutting off your own yawn as she rolled her eyes at you.
Law opened the door, his eyes narrowing on you before he looked at her.
“What’s your report?”
“Y/N was doing well with sonar, but she's clearly sleep deprived. There's no yawning at my weapons station, Captain.”
Ikkaku softened her report by flashing you a tiny smile, but your shoulders slumped in embarrassment.
“Thank you for the report,” Law cleared his throat, avoiding your eyes as he focused on her. “We’ll try again tomorrow. You’re dismissed, Ikkaku.”
She patted your back as she passed, her gesture of comfort lost as your body tensed at the touch.
With a shaky breath, you turned to him, staring at his tattooed arms that flexed as they crossed below his chest.
I didn’t mind when he touched me.
That thought was bittersweet, the bitter turning to bile when you remembered him pulling away.
“Come in,” he gestured into the office, and you stepped back into your memories. A shrine to Doffy, even if it was built of hate.
“How much sleep did you get last night,” he spoke like a doctor, scrutinizing every movement as you sat down across his desk.
“How would I know? There’s no clock in there.”
Somehow, his frown deepened, and you let out a heavy sigh.
“Did you sleep at all?”
The touch of warmth in his voice filled the cold room, but you didn’t want it. You couldn’t truly have it. So you let the truth ring through your mind as you lied again.
All I am is the broken toy of the man he despises.
“I’m sorry. I’ll be okay.”
Your eyes slid away, seeing nothing as you pretended to be fine. Yet, you blinked slowly when he stood, his chair scraping along the floor before he came to kneel beside you.
Time seemed fuzzy, but after a while you heard his voice, low and steady.
“I’m sorry, Y/N. I shouldn’t have left you alone.”
Too tired and stuck for anything except for the faint quivering of your bottom lip, you stayed silent.
“Is it…” he cleared his throat, flexing his hands before he went on. “Is it alright if I hug you?”
“Hey, hey, it’s okay,” he tried to cover his worry in a soothing tone as tears and small choked sounds left your throat. “We don’t need to–”
“Please.”
That tiny, pathetic word left your lips, and you felt sick for asking for anything. Sick for forcing him to take care of you.
But you didn’t fight as he pulled the chair out, as he knelt to the side of your knees, as he touched long fingers to your cheek.
“Is it alright if I hug you,” he asked again in a whisper. You were too weak to protect him from you, nodding slowly until you felt more of his touch.
He pulled you gently forward, your arms limp as he wrapped his around your waist, letting your head rest on his shoulder.
“You’re okay,” he soothed, sliding a palm between your shoulder blades. “You’re gonna be okay.”
Denials and arguments struggled to leave your lips, anger and fear fighting for control.
But you were so tired.
And Law felt so warm, so solid, his smell familiar, yet new. He squeezed you tighter as your breath sped up, holding you still, until you held him too.
He didn’t let go as you dripped hot tears onto his neck. He didn’t let go when you clung to him, digging your fingers into his arms and shoulders. He didn’t let go as your cries flipped from silent to pleading, as you begged for his forgiveness, or choked over the fears and shame you carried.
Through every round of emotions, you would return to guilt and disgust.
“I’m sorry, Law, I’m sick. You shouldn't be... I’m sorry you have to touch me.”
“Why are you saying that,” he nearly growled, holding your head against him to keep you from leaving his grasp.
You had no idea how long you’d made him care for you, how many tears you’d let stain his shirt. But however long it had been, you were finally able to speak some of it clearly.
“You hate him,” you said, your feeble voice breaking between your haggard breaths, “and I’m his… I’m broken. I’m disgust–”
“Shut up.”
A surprised yelp stopped your words, the force of his grip catching your breath.
Law’s fingers dug into your skin as he pressed you against him, almost to the point of pain, and your mind froze as you waited for him.
“There’s nothing wrong with you,” he declared, forcing the words through his teeth. “I don’t give a shit about what he did to you. I don’t care what he made you do. It wasn’t your fault, you hear me?”
There was anger in his words, but you knew it wasn’t for you. Still, you were stunned, feeling his heavy breaths beating against your chest.
“I’m sorry, Y/N,” he breathed, his voice cracking as he buried his face into your neck before pulling away. It was almost painful losing his warmth against you, but he took your hands in his. He seemed to be having more trouble meeting eyes than you were, and you started sinking into the chair while he cleared his throat a few times.
“When I found out that you’d… That he’d… I should have saved you, Y/N. But I decided not to care about you so I could focus on my mission. I let him–”
“Stop,” you cried out, shaking your head against the guilt in his voice. “I wouldn’t have come with you before. I don’t even know when things started to change. But I would have betrayed you. I wanted to be… I’m glad you didn’t find me sooner, Law. I just wish–”
You cut yourself off, melting into his golden eyes. A stolen moment of peace amidst the guilt and pain.
“What do you wish,” he asked, rubbing his thumbs over the back of your hands.
“... I don't think broken people get wishes.”
He gave a jaded laugh before standing, leaning against the desk while he rubbed his knees.
“Will it help you sleep if I stay on your floor tonight?”
You smirked at his soft words, looking from his knees up to his face before responding.
“I don’t know, old man. I don’t think it’ll be good for your joints.” The look on his face was perfect, and a real laugh left your raw throat, shaking your tired body.
“We’re the same age,” he countered, eyes wide with that manic grin, “and disrespecting your captain is a punishable offense.”
“I see how it is,” you teased, lightly poking his side. “Still can’t come up with a good comeback, so you threaten me with violence? Looks like you haven’t changed a bit, you– Law!”
He’d grabbed your wrist before going to his knees again, those pretty fingers searching your ribs for the perfect spot. You writhed and laughed, and failed to fight him off as he tickled you, the way he used to when he couldn’t outsmart you.
“Law, you–”
“Fuck, sorry. I shouldn’t have…”
Law pressed himself against the desk, still on his knees with his hands held up, his eyes wide and worried as he looked at you.
You cracked up, true, heavy laughter, until his lips curled into that evil little smirk. But you beat him to it, sliding to the ground to get him back, tickling and getting a good squirm out of him before you both attacked.
He growled as he laughed, grappling you to the side of the chair until he had you pinned to the ground again. Neither of you could tickle the other as you fought for control or freedom. His cheeks were flushed as he laughed in your face, giving you a snarky, “nuh uh,” when you failed to break loose.
His tongue pressed between his teeth as he gloated, that cocky grin fading as you melted into each other again.
“I–I’m sorry,” he sighed, shifting his weight to leave.
“Don’t be sorry,” you demanded, breathless, and aching for him to stay. “I want…”
You closed your eyes, guilt and shame sliding into your lungs again.
His weight shifted, settling back where he was before. You bit your lip when you saw him staring at your mouth, and heat filled your body as you became hyper aware of every detail of his gorgeous face.
“You want,” he rasped as he met your eyes, concern still pouring from his own.
Your words were choked by all those shitty feelings and doubts.
“It’s okay, Y/N.”
His gentle voice eased the tension in your body, and you were grateful that he hadn’t moved. That he still touched you.
He was still touching you even though you were broken.
“I want you to kiss me.”
~🖤🖤🖤~
You’d ordered the stupid boy to kiss you, your arms crossed as you tried to act like you didn’t care. He’d lost the bet, and had to do whatever you asked.
“Ew, gross! I’m not doing that.”
Law stuck his tongue out, pretending to be sick.
“You lost the bet,” you scolded, punching his shoulder. “Want me to tell everyone you’re an oathbreaker?”
“Why do you wanna kiss me anyway? I’m sick,” he questioned, a hint of hurt in his voice as he gestured to the pale spots on his face.
“I don’t care if you’re sick. I like you how you are.” The confession slipped out, and heat rushed to your face as you clamped your hands over your mouth.
“You like me,” he taunted, smirking as he poked your burning cheek. “Ha, you’re such a girl.”
“Am not,” you yelled, your hands going misty with embarrassment.
“So, all I gotta do is kiss you, and we’ll be square?”
You nodded quickly, not sure if you should trust him.
“Fine,” he complained, leaning in.
You didn’t know what the big deal was about kissing. His lips were cold and scratchy when he pressed them against yours for a few seconds, then he scowled at you as he pulled away.
“That was dumb,” he deadpanned, poking your side.
“You’re dumb!”
He stuck his tongue out at you, and you chased Law down until he swore to never tell a soul.
~🖤🖤🖤~
“Ew, gross,” Law grinned, your mouth falling open in shock.
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me,” he teased, moving his smug face closer to yours. “Kissing you sounds gross.”
“You fucking ass,” you seethed, struggling to get out of his grapple so you could punch him. “I can’t believe–”
He let out a needy sound as he crashed his lips onto yours, and you moaned against him. Your back arched when he released his hold on your arms to cradle your face.
A sob of relief escaped you, and you felt like you’d lost your mind, your hands clawing at his back to pull him closer.
“I’m sorry, Y/N,” he breathed, pressing his forehead against yours. “I should–”
“No more ‘sorry's,” you ordered, “I just want you to kiss me.”
Law chuckled, his voice coming back in a wicked rasp.
“Ew, gross.”

Likes, comments, and reblogs bring me much ✨dopamine✨ thank you so much!
a/n: Sorry about the gruesome, but I hope you enjoyed the wholesome Law with his childhood sweetheart. I adore this man 🥰
Note for the timeline: The childhood flashback occurred shortly before Cora took Law away, so both the reader and Law had known each other over 2 years, and were both between 12-13 yrs old. At the present time in the story, both the reader and Law are around 25 years old.

Hey, A YouTuber Put Together Trade Codes For SV
Uhhhh...  Austin John Play I guess?  IDK, it was being shared on Twitter is where I saw it lol.  Seems like the same was done for BDSP?
Basically, you enter the 8-digit code and hope to get matched with somebody who’s got the opposite offering, the 8-digit code is the same for both X for Y and Y for X so you might end up with X for X happening or Y for Y--if so just quit out and try again.  The codes are for starters, version exclusives, and Ditto to try and swap for the Masuda Method (again, just quit out if the summary of the other Ditto says it’s the same language as yours).  (Video describing this is at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqeuYcwF1xU)
Images and text version of what’s in the images are both below the cut for length, also be advised the second image (and thus text summary) contains name spoilers for certain endgame Pokemon but does not show their images.
updated to include both DLC code lists.
Updated again to include different codes I've found in use--I would assume the community in general decided to change how they were formatted to account for all the Pokémon added in the DLC and for ease of numbering. This does, however, mean that some codes are a crapshoot between "are you getting a partner using the original lists or the newer lists which assigns different pokemon to the same codes previously passed around".
To make use of these codes, enter the 8 digits as your Link Code. Keep in mind that, aside from trade evolutions, these generally are "any pokemon of this evolutionary line" so you might see somebody offering an evolved version rather than the basic pokemon.

TW // GERMAN PEOPLE .
.
.
.
. Okay so the Lingering Echoes event is finished, I cleared all the medals, trimmed one included, so now here are my thoughts on it. For ease of comprehension i'll be using the worm rating, courtesy of my shroomfie @newenglandofficial. PLEASE MIND THE SPOILERS
Tumblr media
STORY (6.5/7 worms ) :
The story is pretty neat, all in all. It has the benefit of being self-contained in a very digestable setting, the nomadic city of Vysenheim, in Leithanien (Arknight's bastardised mix of Austria-Hungary and Germany). While there are no grand stakes like in the Abyssal Hunter storyline (will the fish women ever remember the fourth member of their lesbian polycule ?), I was quite invested in the Witch King lorecrumbs we got, and the spooky wooky conspiration to bring him back to life. Now let's now take a look at it through its most important prism, the characters. For the sake of the three people who'll read this, I will try and keep the events as accurate as possible.
All of them are fairly likable and bounce off fairly well of each other, with Ebenholz, the caprinae (goat people) main character of this event and banner poster-boy, being a tragic figure, not because he's obviously a massive homosexual, mind you, but because he's Austrian, a condition which unfortunately carries many incurable symptoms such as playing the violin, being an aristocrat, having weak little wrists, throwing tantrums in music shops and sleeping in the same bed as your best friend who happens to be a very distant relative. As you can see, he's clearly the highlight of this event. His quest for purpose is a pleasure to follow : after being baited into leaving his aristocratic crackden by the vulpo (wolf people) local ruler who's so hot my friends brain malfunctionned when I first showed him her sprite, he meets his soulmate, Kreide, a young caprinae coming to Vysenheim to cure his grandfather, who's currently suffering from the onset of magical rock cancer.
Tumblr media
Following their encounter, the two newfound comrades then decide to apply for the traditional austrian coming-of-age rite, which involves playing music in an orchestra, since two spots are now open after the previous musicians got fed to Das Kindershredder in typical german fashion. The Concertmaster, Czerny, pictured below, rejects them at first, but the two manage to earn his respect after a fortunate encounter between them, Czerny, and my favorite AoE sidehoe, Hibiscus. The latter almost gets mobbed by a bunch of angry people manifesting the most popular teutonic characteristic, racism, but after the incident gets defused the whole gang meets at Czerny's place so that Hibiscus can casually give found poisoning to all of them by, I shit you not, cooking them healthy food, which bursts Czerny's ulcer, whose proud european organism can only run on fat Sauerkraut.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, soon after this merry and jolly reunion, the infected of the Afterglow (the local ghetto for rock cancer patients) start experiencing a worsening of their medical conditions. This is in fact caused by Kreide's twink aura, which is strong enough to cause the organism of every straight person in a five kilometer radius to spontaneously collapse, and even causes an invasion of toxic slugs from the sewers.
The gang then discovers that Ebenholz's and Kreide's entire existence are in fact fabricated : both of them are direct descendants of the dead Witch-King, and got kidnapped as kids so that his Loyalists, called the Remnants, could implant a symphony inside of them, which could then be used to resurrect him (think Horcruxes in harry potter basically). The new rulers of Leithanien, the Twin-Empresses (they're ugly sorry), find them, and, having mercy on them, decide to give one a fake identity as a random noble in bumfuck-nowhere (that's Ebenholz), and give one to a secret agent meant to keep an eye on him (Kreide).
Gertrude, Czerny's bitter ex and the lady who invited Ebenholz' here in the first place, whose dad was a Witch King loyalist, plans to turn the Geneva convention into a checklist by triggering this symphony, thus attracting the attention of the Twin Empresses' on the Remnants and taking her revenge on them ? I think that was her plan roughly lol I skipped that part.
Ebenholz then has a wizard duel with her in the street, dispels her hyperborean cloning powers, and then beats. Absolutely nothing happens though because she's the local ruler and instead she's gently taken away by the local glowie, some Perro (dog people) fuck named Biegler, who sjould clearly marry me.
Tumblr media
During the fatidic day of the concert, after learning of his blood relationship with Kreide, and unable to face the potential prospect of their future gay babies morphing into Habsburgs through the sheer power of germanic incest, Ebenholz is thus forced to put down his malewife to save the city.
Tumblr media
Kreide dies in Ebenholz' after gently caressing his face and telling to live, breaking the soft little heart of Ebenholz, who also has part of the Witch King's consciousness and voice inside of his brain, and decides to go to Rhodes Island after ditching his noble status.
GAMEPLAY (5/7 worms) :
It was pretty okay, I experienced the event in the best way possible, aka not reading the tutorial stages and assuming everybody not inside of their weird flux jizz would fucking die. As it turns out it's not the case it just gives you an SP regen debuff and the ennemies gimmicks now hit you harder. Also Kreide's (whose Witch-King infused form is the final boss) essentially kills himself during the final stage so that was fine.
BANNER (7/7 worms) :
I tried to convinced myself that I would NOT roll Ebenholz, with Pozyomka and Gavial (forma del ungabunga) approaching, but I caved in instantly when I heard his sweet little german lines telling me that he would, in fact, do fucking nothing as my assistant. Yas king slay give us fucking nothing.
Gameplay wise, I wish his S2 did NOT have the shift effect, since it tends to pull ennemies into the rest of the mines and fucking waste all of them for one ennemy. His S3 is gimmicky as fuck but would be broken if Hypergryph decided to let him stack his auto-attacks during his S3. All in all he's my adopted son and I love him.
Stay tuned for more objectively right review of other events, it was a pleasure writing that one !

Thoughts on JJK chapter 218 (spoiler)
The little flashback we got from Yorozu tells me that we'll see bigger flashbacks and maybe even an entire arc about the Heian sorcerers
I was a little taken aback by Sukuna having tamed Megumi's shikigami offscreen, but it helps to keep the fast pace and high energy of the manga going
Tumblr media
I was not surprised by the deer shikigami having healing powers. I theorized about that exact shikigami with that power before but in my head Megumi's looks like this
Tumblr media
It's a good thing that the problem that Mai had with her CT (high CE consumption) was a problem for Yorozu too
Yorozu's fight with Sukuna is basically over because she seems to have reached her zenith this chapter regardless of her last love attack
The high emphasis that is put on love in this mini arc will probably reflect in the love that Tsumiki and Megumi have for each other. I'm still of the opinion that Tsumiki will regain control of her body
The King of Curses, everyone
Tumblr media
Let's be real, the only love Sukuna knows is the one he feels when he looks at his own face (and Megumi's)
I have a theory that Megumi might turn into a curse like Sukuna and Naoya, together with a poll for everyone who's interested
Why does Sukuna feel the need to reverse his hand signs? Is it because he has another dominant hand or because he's a bitch
Tumblr media
I wonder what Mahoraga's wheel will actually do for him, he hasn't used it (as far as we know) this chapter. And remember, the strongest 10 Shadows user who fought against the six-eyes to a draw hadn't tamed Mahoraga. So Sukuna is and has always been on another level compared to every other character in the series
On that note, Sukuna knows that the gang has the backend of the prism realm in their possession but it doesn't look like he told Kenjaku about it. I'm sure that Sukuna is the number 1 fan of getting Gojo out of the prism realm so he can fight against him. Something that Kenjaku desperately tried to avoid.

One Piece Chapter 1077 - Initial Thoughts
Tumblr media
Well we are back, the breaks always feel longer every time we get through them
But we have more Among Us to get through, so let's see what twists Oda offers today
Spoilers for the Chapter, Support the Official Release Also
Back in the present for the cover story with Judge and Caesar deciding that Vegapunk is to blame for their troubles
Sentomaru's trying to evacuate the island, telling the people that Ohara may happen to them
Funny flashback Aokiji face though
The shaky alliance are still fighting off the Seraphim, who keep getting up from the combo attacks
Zoro finally clicks on to the fact that the Seraphim look like King, prompting Shaka to confirm that the Seraphim have Lunarian properties
Did we know that it was Punk Hazard they were testing on them? I mean it makes sense given the DF but still
We get the gag of Zoro listing the clear telltale signs of a Lunarian though, but at least they know how to fight them now
Shaka meanwhile suddenly has a clue where the Stella body may be
And back to Nami, turns out she was being attacked by S-Shark
Unnecessary ass shot though
Seems like S-Shark has been busy, beheading Brook and beating down Edison, which only allows Nami to convince herself against her instincts to not hurt a child
The thunderbolt seems to hit hard, but S-Shark sank into the ground to flank Nami
Brook was about to make the save but then Sanji charged in, triggered of course by her scream last chapter
Although Sanji hit S-Shark hard it is worth reminding that the fire is still on its back when he hit them, but I can already tell that twitter's gonna zero in on it
WAIT! SANJI'S TWIRLY BROW CHANGED SIDES AGAIN!! I wonder if that means he's gonna tap into Vinsmoke powers again, maybe he has an anger shift?
With Team Lilith, Lilith manages to deter S-Snake with the Bubble gun
Turns out the Bubble Gun has the same effect as Sea Prism, and Sea Prism still works on Seraphim because of the Green Blood
Lilith's lil pose as Usopp and Pythagoras cheer for her XD
Franky uses the bubble to properly subdue S-Snake, but falls prey to the Seraphim's crocodile tears
Hit with a Perfume Femur, Franky is partially stoned, while Usopp and Lilith get fully stoned by being hit with her cutesy act and DF
Is this the thing I read Usopp would 'never do'? Honestly I thought it was something more dramatic than being caught in the DF powers
I wonder if Franky got fully stoned in transition, but since we know through Boa vs Blackbeard that only the user can undo the Stoning it's worrying for us right now
I do at least hope that Franky (and Usopp and Lilith but not as much of a priority) get unstoned given how an arc about Vegapunk always felt like it was gonna be Franky Season
The place the Stella is being kept is called a 'Devil Fruit Laboratory'
Shaka does arrive there to surprise, so I guess it wasn't him after all
Vegapunk Stella though asks who Shaka came with, leading to gunfire
Shot through the head, I doubt Shaka's getting up from that
'Ktok' is a unique sfx for walking isn't it? I feel like we've heard it before
Okay so RIP Shaka guys
All the Ohara information stored in his brain is now spilling on the floor, that's gonna sting for Robin, though the info should still be in Elbaf.
This was a good chapter to go back to, of course people will be upset that we didn't go back to Shanks but come on you had to have seen that coming? I do feel like while it makes sense for Sanji to jump in to rescue Nami that it still diminishes Brook being there, they split into groups for a reason after all. Also this means that Stussy and Jinbe were left out.
We have all the Seraphim accounted for though, only Pythagoras and maybe Franky are still active around S-Snake, but it was a shame to see Lilith and Usopp shafted even if it's temporarily. Key note though that Seraphim have the same DF weakness, could use those Sea Prism cuffs Lucci and Kaku had on some of them.
Sentomaru evacuating the island is important too, 100 Warships, an Admiral and a Gorosei are on the way, so it'll definitely be worse than Ohara, Egghead is gonna turn into a Warzone.
As for our ktok, it sounds metallic, but Vegapunk didn't recognize them from afar, so still hard to say, but we might get the reveal next week.

The Path of Blood and Smoke
Tumblr media
While minding your business in London, you are hunted down by an enigmatic Tomb Colonist. He claims you are part of a bigger prophecy and enlists your help to save the world from a malicious ritual conducted by a surviving sect of the Third City. As you travel to the northernmost corners of the Tomb Colonies, a bloodstained tale about betrayal unfolds.
My Rating: ★★★★☆ Community rating: none yet A gripping, gloomy, self-contained ES with a charming travel companion and an ending that left me thinking about it long after it was over. Main Focus: Third City, God Eaters Secondary Focus: Tomb Colonies
Spoiler Free
Opening
Who should play it? How does it begin? Will my character feel out of place?
You are approached by someone who reveals to you that you are the center of an ancient prophecy. Why? Who knows. But the fate of the world depends on your sudden role as the Chosen One. So you decide to investigate, if for nothing else than curiosity’s sake.
This has to be one of the best openings to an ES I’ve ever seen. Every character, no matter the background, will have the same, bewildered reaction. This isn’t like so many other ES, where you wonder why your character would ever engage in this story.
Spoiler-Free Review
I had quite a lot of fun with this ES, despite its gloomy nature and lack of humor. It’s medium length, and I played it comfortably with two candles without running out of actions.
“The Path of Blood and Smoke” delves deep into the human-sacrifice culture of the Third City. Betrayal is the central theme of this ES and it pulls through the entire ES beautifully. Every choice you make asks “do you trust this man or not?” Every possible ending draws hugely on the theme as well.
From a lore-standpoint, it doesn’t disappoint either. The backstory of the God Eaters is never explained, but one gets a very good grasp on the kind of fear they ruled with. Since I recently played Haunted By Stairs, it felt great to meet the priest-kings again.
This ES is suited for characters from all walks of life who don’t mind a little violence. Especially SMEN-players and historically inclined characters will have a blast here. However, if you don’t like blood or are looking for a happy ending, you’d be well advised to skip this for a while.
The writing is solid and easy to follow, but never gets too abstract. Mechanically, the ES is structured very linearly (you follow a road most of the time), but I didn’t feel like it took away from the experience. Every step came with a broad variety of choices, so I was never forced to do something out of character. It also kept up the tension and excitement, and I was looking forward to every next step.
This is an all around very good ES, and if the Third City is something that interests you, it’s a must-play. You get a good amount of content for your Fate, and a charming story as well.
Additional Thoughts (Full Spoilers)
The entire ES is a tug-of-war between trust and betrayal, and in the vein of the God Eater’s backstabbing nature, trust won’t be rewarded here. There is no feel-good ending to this one.
However, I liked how, regardless of your decisions, you always have access to three options to resolve it: The moral high ground, the morally neutral one and the violent one. Their difficulty varies depending on the choices ahead, but it doesn’t lock the player into something they’re uncomfortable with.
And every single ending comes with layers upon layers of betrayal. There is a karmic justice at work here which plays out slightly differently in every ending, and I love it. It’s like a prism of betrayal. Needless to say, the endings are my personal highlight, and I could fill a whole other blog-post just ranting about them.
Depending on the choice at the finale (and if you succeed or not), the God Eaters have been strengthened or weakened, which is rather huge in the grand scheme of things. Although, as with any ES, London won’t change much. We’re only just left with the knowledge of what we did and that somewhere, far up in the North, old schemes are set into motion.
The only downside to the ending in my opinion is that it comes rather abruptly. It moves us from a menace-area right back to our lodgings, with no time to pick up the pieces. I personally would have loved to wake up at the site of the climax and have to stumble back myself. That way, the high tension and emotion would have cooled off more naturally.
Aside from the ending, my other highlight was the Lace-Wrapped Emissary. He is the only character in this ES, and therefore gets a lot of attention. The author does a great job in setting him up as his own person – he is a bit socially awkward, tries (and fails) to cover up his own nervousness, and is in over his head himself. Yes, he’s a backstabbing bastard, but a very likeable one. A problematic fave. Though I understand everybody who wanted to inflict untold harm on him the second they met.
The ES does him a bit dirty by making him sus from the very beginning. Yes, it plays into the theme of trust vs betrayal, but the twist would have been more potent if I hadn’t distrusted him right from the beginning.
Community opinion seems to be overall good. The only points of critique are the ending, that doesn’t impact London, the fact that we are randomly chosen and the soft railroading.
Though, especially to the second point, I have to counter that us being lied to and picked at seemingly random plays into the betrayal, too. After all, the God Eaters don’t need someone special. They just need their prey to struggle.

Some minor Spoilers for Mislaid in Parts Half-Known and possibly previous books
Ok, so I've finished Mislaid in Parts Half-Known and after a few days to chew, I have so thoughts.
What the fuck is going on in Prism!?
Like, the doors are an outside factor. No world controls them and Antsy considers them an sorting system for the worlds, give people the opportunity to find a place that suits them better then and world they were born in. (see. the boy who disappeared from Confection)
This doesn't always work out, because losing your conviction and being unable to choose leaves you stuck in your birth world and because the worlds and the people in them have their own laws, bias, and desires that the doors don't care about/understand (see. Lundy, the Queen of Cakes, the false headmaster) but that is the intent.
But is the implication here that Prism is opening doors intentionally to take girls? Antsy describes the door to Prism found in Kade's attic as predatory.
Or do doors open for children who would be happy in Prism and the fairies are idk killing the boys or smth? The hunting party encountered in Mislaid implies that they can just detect a door opening and go to collect whoever falls out of them.
The way Antsy described Seraphina's world also seemed to imply that they were somehow opening doors and targeting specific individuals. Which is not outside possibility. Jack proves that in books 1 and 5, and Rini in book 3.
Everything I'm getting from this latest entry is either the faeries of Prism intentionally kidnapped Kade by sending a door to him, OR he was legitimately meant to find happiness in Prism.
But if the latter was true, I don't think the fairies were supposed to be the ones to find him. He described going into the goblin woods because he found them calming. Still rainbow and color changing, but slower and more gradual about it. The goblin(s) who speak to Sumi refer to him as their Prince and appear to have always had only the highest respect for him. And Kade talks about the Goblin King as the first adult/adultish figure to have allowed him to be himself and exist without expectations. Possibly still the only adult other than Eleanor, who herself was still expecting Kade to be a nonsense traveler at first.
So what I'm saying is,
Did the fairies steal Kade from Earth, from the Goblins, and what the fuck is happening in Prism!?!?!?

If Disgaea Characters Had Arcana Part 4
Tumblr media
((This is the last part of this multipart topic at least until Disgaea 7 comes out this October. As always watch the previous parts first, beware of spoilers, blah blah blah. Let's get it on.
Tumblr media
Zed fits the Hermit Arcana with ease. Ever since he became a zombie it's mainly been just him, Bieko, and Cerberus as literally everyone else he ever knew ever stays away from him or picks on him on a regular basis. He's pretty much used to being alone for the most part, which is one of the reasons he had such a hard time opening up to his teammates. He had no desire to get involved with any of them until Cerberus pretty much pointed out that the Super Reincarnation spell is hinting that he needs them around.
Tumblr media
Bieko is another easy case as she gets the Devil Arcana. She was basically trapped in an uncontrollable rampage as a God of Destruction and watched herself kill Zed over and over and over again until he finally managed to save her until Misual transformed her again. At that second time, she managed to put her foot down and finally take control of the situation and revert back on her own.
Tumblr media
Archiba- I mean, Misedor could be the Emperor Arcana as he is a King and does show some authority, granted it's not on the same level as other characters in this series, but I think the Magician Arcana suits him more as his journey is realizing his own personal dream of becoming a great hero one day. And let's be honest, literally using money to fight in battles is a unique way to go about doing that.
Tumblr media
In my opinion, there is no one that fits the Lovers Arcana in the series so far better than Melodia. To say that her love life was in jeopardy would be an understatement. Her whole journey is her having a love life that's in crossroads as she sent out all of her suitors to fight and die against the God of Destruction so she can have a happy ending until Zed came along.
Tumblr media
And yes, Dark Pit from Kid Icarus being one of those suitors is still my personal Headcanon. I don't care if they're completely different games, this idea is funny to me.
Tumblr media
I almost don't want to give Piyori the Justice Arcana out of spite due to how often she uses that word in the game. I really like Piyori, don't get me wrong, but Justice is not a word that's endearing enough to repeat like "plip" or "dood". But, at the end of the day, this arcana does fit her as it's about cause and effect. Piyori was so focused on how to honor her late older brother and boost the ratings of the Prism Rangers show that she practically almost abandoned the fundamentals of being a hero. It wasn't until she returned to the show that she realized she was going down the wrong path, especially after the leader of the show's villain group pointed it out to her. I can also hear arguments for the Chariot or Sun Arcana given her positive attitude.
Tumblr media
Majolene would be the Hierophant as she's a teacher, potentially the oldest in the group, and despite being grumpy especially after becoming a magical girl on accident, she's the wisest and the biggest rule follower. Actually now that I think about it, this whole cast is probably the easiest to pick out Arcana for out of the whole series thus far for me.
Tumblr media
Overlord Ivar is a much better candidate for the Emperor Arcana than Misedor. Yes, he is a lot more friendly and approachable compared to other overlords in this series, he is more authoritative than Misedor and works hard to look after his kingdom and subjects. Hell, he literally cut ties with Misual after finding out he's been experimenting on his loyal subjects behind his back and even seemingly killed him.
Tumblr media
Speaking of Misual, he is Death. Not only has he argued multiple times how pointless it is to go against destiny, that everything is set in stone no matter how hard you try, but his main goal in the game is to destroy all of existence after Releiza's death.
Tumblr media
Speaking of Releiza, even though we don't see that much of her, I'm willing to put her down as Priestess due to kind and gentle nature. Now let's go over some characters I either missed or deemed worthy enough for at least somewhat of a mention before we end this thing off.
Tumblr media
I'm not sure why I didn't bother to give an Arcana to Archangel Vulcanus from Disgaea 1, especially since even though he's not the final boss he is the actual main villain of the story. Perhaps I found it weird to do so at the time since he shares the same name as Tatsuya's Suou's Persona even though they're not the same, or the fact that I already gave the judgement Arcana to Lamington. For now considering that a good portion of Disgaea 1's story was him manipulating things from behind the scenes like Flonn'e missing Pendant, the arrival of the Defenders of Earth, the EDF's invasion of the Netherworld knowing full well that both sides might end up taking each other out, and outing Flonne as a traitor to Celestia, I'm willing to give him the Jester Arcana, which is the reverse Fool. I mean, that's literally Adachi's role in Persona 4, pulling the strings and tricking almost everyone and being the exact opposite of Yu Narukami.
Tumblr media
Now granted Pleinair doesn't really have that much of a personality as she's almost practically a mute but given how she's been casually going around everywhere and spreading her influence as a netherworld idol across different worlds and even different timelines (unless if she's just some sort of immortal demon girl), I'm willing to give her the World Arcana if not Universe. Kinda helps that she looks like the Persona 3 male protagonist as a demon girl.
Tumblr media
You already know I had to bring up this guy at some point. The Director in Disgaea 2 is one of Axel's most loyal companions as he stuck by him even after a big controversial stunt that costed him his fame, even though for some reason NIS won't have him cameo in future titles. Yes, Evil Ranger Pink has pretty much cemented herself as Axel's sidekick, but Director's the one that's been doing his absolute hardest to keep Axel on track as has been with him through thick and thin up until that point. As such, I'm going to give him the Hierophant Arcana.
Tumblr media
Might as well include Adell's parents while I'm at it. Starting with his foster mother, she gets the Empress Arcana with ease. She definitely wears the pants in the family, you get to see more of her compassionate side as the story progresses and most magic users, including summoners like her are pretty in tune with nature. If that last part isn't convincing enough for you, remember, she is a farmer.
Tumblr media
As for the foster father, he's a bit tricky. Despite his cautious and awkward nature, he's very experienced with battlefield tactics, weaponry, and Veldime's history. One could argue that part of the reason why Adell is more strategic than he leads on is because he learned potential strategies from his foster dad. Pretty much think of Otacon from Metal Gear, but instead of a crippled scientist, he's a cursed demon farmer. I might either give him the Star Arcana or have him switch with Taro and take Temperance instead.
Tumblr media
As for Shura and Selion, and yes that's what they actually look like according to the Disgaea 2 Manga, these two get the Devil Arcana easily. They were literally trapped under the Fake Zenon's control to do his bidding until Adell and co helped them rest in peace. Can't exactly feel anymore hopeless and powerless than that.
Tumblr media
Tyrant Baal is an interesting case. He's an ancient, all powerful overlord that seeps through all of the Disgaea games fighting the main characters. And I say ancient because he has been around even long before the events of Disgaea 5, which take place over 7000 years before Disgaea Hour of Darkness. And despite that, there isn't that much overall about him that's known aside from the fact that's an amalgamation of various evil souls fused into one, he's responsible for the Death of Overlord Krichevskoy, and he plans to one day take over the NIS verse with his collective army of prinnies and various other demons he has taken under his command. Technically the World Arcana doesn't have a reverse role, but I'm willing to give it to Baal anyway.
Tumblr media
Finally, Kyoko and Asuka pretty much play the exact same role in the story as Raspberyl's most loyal companions. These two follow her through thick and thin because they wish to pay her back for saving their lives in the past (if I recall correctly, Raspberyl saved Kyoko from some sort of attack and healed Asuka who was fighting a battle with cancer). As such I think it would be fitting to give them the Hierophant Arcana, similarly to the old couple social link in Persona 3.
And that pretty much covers it. Well for now at least in terms of Disgaea. Like I said, I'll probably revisit this once Disgaea 7 comes out later on. Next time, I will go over Shantae characters so look forward to that. If there are any other titles you want to me to do this for, let me know. As always, take care and thanks for reading.))

Sometimes I wonder how widely believed the old 'Futari wa Pretty Cure was supposed to be 26 episodes' rumor actually is tbh. Like obviously I've seen it passed around by several people in the fandom, but IDK how widespread it is.
Basically if you're not familiar with this rumor, it claims that Futari wa Pretty Cure was originally planned to run for just 26 episodes but then it got extended because of its popularity and this is used to explain why (MINOR SPOILERS FOR FUTARI WA PRETTY CURE) the Pretty Cure manage to gather all the Prism Stones, defeat all the villains, and even (seemingly) have their final confrontation with the Evil King, as well as the rather...weak nature of the second half of the series.
And sure, it seemingly makes sense, right? Why else would the main plotline be solved by the 26th episode if that wasn't meant to be the finale?
Problem is: it's just not true. According to this interview with Takashi Washio (basically the creator of the entire franchise tbh), the Futari wa was always planned to air for a whole year - they just thought people would get bored with the story if it ran for the whole year, so they decided to have it be resolved in the first half of the season in order to keep the pace up (and then they'd figure out what they'd do after once they got to that point, so you could still say the second half wasn't fully planned out - it just wasn't because the show got extended)
Also, as someone recently pointed out on the Precure subreddit, even without the confirmation that the first season was always meant to run for a year, the rumor that it was supposed to be 26 episodes doesn't make any logical sense. All the previous series that aired in Precure's timeslot (the Ojamajo Doremi series and Ashita no Nadja) all aired over the course of a year, so why would this new series be planned to air for only half of that time? Plus, if Futari wa had only been planned to air for 26 episodes, Toei would've been working on whatever show would replace it in the timeslot and you can't imagine they'd have been cool with scrapping all the work done on this hypothetical show just because the show they were currently airing was popular and they wanted to let it run longer.
So yeah tl;dr any rumors that Futari wa Pretty Cure was supposed to be 26 episodes but had its episode count extended because of its popularity are false, the show was always meant to run for a year from the start

Can you have dreams when you're constantly being watched?
Tumblr media
Be honest, you probably have changed what you wanted to do with your life at least once, right? With so many options, it's hard to choose--and that's okay!
The System doesn't give you that choice, that's why it sucks.
SPOILER: As this is a voidblog, I'll just be running straight through my points and that will include everything I've ever watched in this franchise, be forewarned in case you want to go in blind.
WARNING, this will be very long. Unhelpful TLDR at the end.
I HATE THE SYSTEM SO BAD. And that's a good thing
"The System", aka, the source of all problems in this series, is referred to as more of a concept. A set of "premade" rules in the world behind the magical closet door that keeps everyone in check. There has never really been much of a face or name to "The System", and the only other people who really understand "The System" are, to put it short, robots that the system created for the main characters to have rivals.
Until you get to King of Prism(watched from start to end :/). Through all the chaos, 5 second arcs and more references than I'd ever need in my life, the introduction of that season's secret villain FINALLY put some more context behind it all. Episode 10 lays it out pretty easily. "The System" is comprised of multiple faceless pillars that secure the common typing we see in the show. As King of Prism is a more matured, version of the main Pretty Rhythm line, we can simply match up the the colors of "The System" to prism stones.
Yellow - Feminine
Green - Ethnic
Purple - Cool
Blue - Pop
Pink - Lovely
Red - Lovely #2
Prism stones are, as simplified as I can describe them without being long winded; heart-shaped crystals the characters in the Pretty Rhythm line use to store different types of clothes. Certain characters, as they grow, get to using one main color, with the main character, "Character A", ultimately getting to use another, secret, white color that represents a higher state of being, kinda.
Getting back on track, in episode 10 of King of Prism(KoP), we delve into one of the character's, Louis' backstory and it's finally revealed that he is an artificial human repurposed to bring the "brilliance" of the Prism stage to the world. That's a lot after the last post, I know.
Now this episode is a HUGE lore drop, I can't stress this enough. The part of Pretty Rhythm King of Prism branches off of, PR;Rainbow Live, is very tame when it came to any type of lore. It really followed the rest of the series, "Character A" Naru Ayase, a 14-year-old girl needs to find an afterschool job as a requirement for school, falls head and heart first into the role of being an idol, and with her spirit, she becomes one quite easily! Insert Rinne, lost amnesiac princess from another world along with "Character B" and "Character C" appreciate Naru's friendship and shenanigans ensue.
But it shouldn't have been this way. But it was going to happen anyway.
Call me a pessimist, and yeah, I should've just sat back and enjoyed the cute dresses and music but episode 10 of KoP was my Pandora's box. That episode showed that not only was everything the main characters of this franchise went through planned by a higher power, but that even the friends these girls made were hand crafted to make them better and harvest their data. Voice, moves, mannerisms, all of it.
In episode 10 of KoP, we see 2 artificial robots be made as a part of a whole, complex story arc. These robots are seen as base models and their names are Rinne and Shine. Although they're supposed to be these great vessels to help the world fall into order, we see that once Shine falls out of line and "The System" starts losing hold of him, he's put of for immediate deletion but ultimately sealed away. Throughout the ordeal, "The System" has 0 type of care or respect for either of them (something you'd expect from most magical girl anime) and putting the burden of keeping the idol world they created alive. Rinne, Louis and Shine are ultimately nothing more than plot points to watch the world and have the world watch them.
Now, everything I stated above rolls into KoP plot, what does it have to do with the rest??
Using the logic set that all worlds are connected by "The System", the kid's show made s e n s e. Stuff that could be waved away with weird anime logic made more sense to me, and actually helped me find darker subplot that reached over even when the series changed names Pretty Rhythm -> Pripara -> Kiratto Pri-Chan.
The show followed the same plotline. Indecisive (and young. Yes this is important) "Character A" finds the world of idols, strives to become one of the best through both hiding secrets and rigorous training. "Character A" finds an unlikely support network to go through said training with and becomes the best! Always! Inspiring more and more young people to both watch them and give it a try themselves. Its standard AND a blueprint. The "Character A" will almost always hold some type of "positive" influence whenever the next season and iteration happen; almost like a cameo without being really seen.
Plots became bigger, every "Character A" seemed more and more like victims(in a sense), and after they stopped producing KoP in translated anime form, it felt like "The System" fell into the background. A force that was there, but never heard from. And honestly, I brushed it off, too. I watched just because I loved watching for so long. Nostalgia and all that.
Until we get to my favorite character Luluna ☆
TLDR; Omnipotent magic slabs secretly watch over children to fund the biggest MLM in the universe(s).
-20wips
(I use that term "mature" cautiously. There are about 10 adult characters in the entire franchise, no character is actually mature and there's no way to put that series (KoP) into words compared to the main.)

Flower Girl
Tumblr media
Name: Pero Ophiin (She/Her)
Race: Wood Half-Elf
Class: Druid (Circle of the Land)
Background: Outlander
WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD!
Hey yo! It's been a minute since I updated this blog. As I mentioned before on my other blogs, my computer was dealing with an issue where the drivers were not updating properly. Not wanting to put further strain on my computer by continuously playing BG3, I decided to put this game down until I, one, got a separate work computer, and two, got my baby sent to the computer doctors. This, of course, caused me to spring two other game logging blogs related to Pathfinder: Kingmaker & Pillars of Eternity.
(You can find the blogs here and if you know my main blog, you can find them newly pinned there as well:
https://www.tumblr.com/blog/we-c0uld-be-kings
https://www.tumblr.com/blog/thewatcherprevails)
But now that we're back in town, let's wrap back around to seeing how Pero is faring on her side of the world! Last we saw her, she fucked everything up at Last Light Inn by failing to save Isobel, got soft locked out of Halsin's quest all because I missed ONE FUCKING DOOR, was able to release and ally with Dame & Jaheira, and marched to Moonrise Towers to defeat Ketheric Thorm. But good lord, the many bodies that were left behind. Because Last Light fell, many of the Tiefling NPCs died, Isobel was mind controlled to fight by her father's side, with no choice to reverse the effects, the Harpers got bodied. All in all, we are pressed for allies at the moment.
Made even worse, the Shadow Curse still plagues the land, leaving Pero with a bitter taste in her mouth as the crew moves on to Baldur's Gate with the land demolished by the hungering shadows. Also, we didn't get to recruit Halsin because I MISSED ONE FUCKING DOOR!
On the road to Baldur's Gate, Pero talks with Wyll about how and why he got into his pact with Mizora. He explains his situation during the time of the Rise of Tiamat event. How he was swayed to fight an impossible battle, but was granted power by Mizora in exchange to save Baldur's Gate. But this resulted in him being banished by his father. When Pero asked if he missed his father, Wyll expressed that he did, harboring no ill will towards his dad since, at that time, Wyll was forbidden to truly speak of his pact.
As for Karlach, Pero is growing increasingly worried. With Dammon dead, thanks to the situation back at the Last Light Inn, Karlach is now out of a reliable source of mechanical help for her infernal heart. Pero is fearful of losing anyone else close to her, so searching for a solution to that heart is top priority for Pero. Pero and Gale also have a pseudo cute moment together as Gale expresses how he is amazed and curious about how the Chosen Three (Gortash, Orin, and Ketheric) were able to find a powerful artifact that still held copious amounts of netherese. He believes there might be some magical scholars in Baldur's Gate who might still hold some ancient knowledge and text about such magic that might help us determine how they got such an item and how to potentially control it.
As for Astarion, Pero does not hide that she doesn't think it right for Astarion to go ahead with ascending himself. Not that Pero isn't sympathetic to his reasons why, but Raphael CLEARLY stated that not only was this ritual absolutely diabolical, but it required souls to complete the spell. Which means, people will have to be sacrificed to ascend one individual. Pero still agrees to help Astarion stop Cazador, but she will promise nothing else.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As the crew were turning in for the night, Pero and the gang get overwhelmed by the voice of the Elder Brain, the Absolute, commanding their army forward to Baldur's Gate. Not only that, but some Githyanki warriors decided to hop into our camp and attack us. After narrowly escaping them, we enter the Astral Prism and discover the truth about our Guardian. The Guardian is actually a Mindflayer! One who calls themselves, The Emperor. Despite Pero's distrust of the creature, she fought alongside with them to contain another peculiar Gith that's trapped within the prism.
The Emperor goes on to explain their story, how they were not always a Mindflayer and stumbled upon Moonrise Towers to search for treasure. But what they found instead was a Mindflayer parasite in their head and being under the control of the Absolute. But they broke their hive mind state and left that lifestyle to peruse a path of their own once again. They were able to keep a stable and private life, but then Gortash found them and dragged them back to the Absolute.
What released The Emperor from this mental bounds was the discovery of the Astral Prism and learning of Orpheus, the lost Githyanki prince who has true control over the Mindflayer parasite and halting the effects of ceremorphosis. With this in mind, even if Pero doesn't like the idea of siding with The Emperor, she has no choice as it is clear that whatever their motives are, it's keeping her and the gang from truly transforming into thralls, or worse yet, Mindflayers.
When given the choice to evolve, Pero willfully refused, but the Emperor asked that she keep the starving larvae; confident that she will come around to wanting to enhance herself further with her tadpole powers. After that, the crew returned back to the Material Realm to finally get some shut eye.
In the morning, Pero decided to make a change!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thanks to the previous update where we can now change our characters appearance throughout the game, I decided to change Pero's hair and face a bit to include scars and a new cut! Unfortunately, there's not a lot of braid styles in the game, so I stuck with a "shadowheart-esque" type updo. But I think it works for Pero here since it's showing her transition from a sweet, inexperience young girl to becoming a determined hero and adventurer. Months of experience riddling her once unmarred face. Now, I'll go into what we discovered and experienced while we were in Rivington in a separate post, but I'll leave this post on a more sweeter note.
As we're entering this new location, we are immediately approached by a heterochromatic child named Yenna and her cat, Grub. Yenna asks if they saw their mother by any chance as the young girl was informed that their mother was off to find food, but she hasn't returned. All around us in this area, there are clear signs of refugees, other than the Tieflings from Elturel, who fled to Baldur's Gate due to the coming army of the Absolute.
Out of kindness, Pero was able to produce some berries to allow Yenna to eat. The young girl happily thanks us and rushes away with their cat Grub. But don't worry, we'll see the young girl again pretty soon.

Y’know I always thought it was kinda odd that the one girl who liked Alexander’s show became a Shin fan in the end, but actually, after revisiting this topic for the first time since SSS maybe it was some kind of weird forshadowing hahah...
