The Court of Deepfrost Citadel
"Announcing the King and Queen-"
Cleo glared at the herald. "King, if you don't mind."
The herald bowed. "Yes, of course, your majesty. I'm so sorry."
"You're just lucky I didn't kill you for your insolence, but you're not my herald so you get to live for now. Continue," Cleo said.
The herald gathered himself. "Announcing the Kings of Hermitcraftia! King Rentheking, and King ZombieCleo!"
"Better," Cleo muttered as they took Ren's arm and headed into the throne room.
Deepfrost Citadel was a cold kingdom in the north ruled over by Queen Pearlescent Moon, who challenged anyone to tackle her dungeon, which was said to be filled with dangerous creatures, but also rich rewards for anyone who got out. It wasn't a kingdom the Kings of Hermitcraftia travelled to often, but when needs must, well. Here they were.
Queen Pearl sat on a throne made out of blackstone and warped wood. Magnificent stained glass sat behind her, depicting her wearing her crown as she traversed a part of the dungeon. Two ravagers sat at her side, which she reached over to pet every now and then. Before the throne, three knights in netherite: the middle bore gold trim, the one to their left wore iron, and the third wore copper. Sharp icicles lined the throne room, and crowned the throne itself, causing the temperature in there to feel rather colder. Ren brought his fur-lined cloak tighter around him, hoping to be home soon.
King Ren and King Cleo got no further than the knights, their spears barring them from continuing.
"Well, well, what brings you two to the Citadel?" Pearl said, eyeing them with a smug interest.
Ren went to charge forward, but Cleo stopped him, holding him back. "My dear King Ren is, shall we say, Concerned about the number of our citizens who have come here and have since gone missing. We'd like to know if you know anything about that, Your Majesty."
Pearl sat back and waved off the guards, who retreated to the base of the throne, still eyeing them with caution. "What, do your own citizens not have their own free will to come challenge my dungeon? If they fail, that's not my fault. Though they have been feeding my ravagers well, haven't they, Nugget?"
The ravager on Pearl's left made what sounded like a noise of contentment as she stroked its head gently.
"I think you just need to train your citizens better so they can withstand the dangers of the dungeon. Then maybe you wouldn't be so mad at them losing all the time," Pearl said.
Ren growled. "You give us back our-"
Cleo clamped a hand over his mouth. "Stop making it worse!" she hissed. She turned back to Pearl. "Of course, our citizens are free to do whatever they please, though if this is simply an act to wittle down our forces before invasion, well-"
Pearl laughed. "Oh, no, this is just for fun! Everyone comes to try their hand at the dungeon! But what of you both? Would you dare to run it? Or would you sacrifice your own before daring to put yourselves in danger?"
Cleo had to grab Ren and shove him back. "Alright, I see what's going on. We're leaving, okay? Just- try to send them back if they fail. We have families here who need to grieve."
"Well, I can't make any promises, but I'll try. I really will. Maybe one day you'll brave the dungeon for yourselves, hmm? But maybe not. You'd never beat me in there. So perhaps it's wise you return to Hermitcraftia. These games are not for you. Champions, see them out."
Cleo turned her back on the Queen, wondering how they were going to calm Ren down. The poor dog had been so anxious about his citizens - their citizens - going to die here and, well. Something had to be done. And so it had been done. Would it result in anything changing? Well, only time would tell.

"White," Legatus Caekrius Gaius said, voice low as if he were whispering of taboo curses, as if the very discussion of the topic at hand would bear it down upon them, "is a color of war for the northern rebels. It is easy to see in the shadow of their gods, those damned trees. If you see it, do not think it a motion of surrender. It simply means their forces are prepared for bloodshed."
*taps mic* anyone here, uh, remember the kingdoms au stuff? No? Not many? OK, OK. That's fine. Have this anyway. She lives in my head rent free along with the rest of her universe <3

"While the kingdom of Equestria has a more diverse population than most others, it is known as the home of three races in particular..."
Did someone order uhhhhhhhhh fantasy world AU? I've been bouncing this idea around in my head for a while now, and I finally got around to drawing it. More info below the cut!
"...First are the Earthkin. Characterized by their short tails, varied markings, and stocky bodies, Earthkin are the most abundant of the three races, with many villages and settlements being entirely devoid of any other kind of Equestrian. It is often believed that they are unable to use magic, save for the abilities all Equestrians gain from their Cutie Marks, however more recent studies have suggested that while they cannot actively wield magical energies, they may posses passive abilities beyond what would normally be physically possible.
"Next are the Pegasi. They tend to be of average height, and can be easily distinguished by their wings, tailfeathers, and sharp talons. Every pegasus has the ability to concentrate energy around their bodies, extending their wings and tailfeathers, allowing for flight. However, this ability is not instinctual and requires time and training to be able to use properly. They mainly reside in their cities in the clouds, managing weather and the transportation of goods, but recently many Pegasi have broken tradition and begun immigrating to the lands below, starting new lives among the other races.
"And last but certainly not least are the Unicorns. They stand at an average of six and a half feet, with long tails and horns at the tops of their heads. These horns are able to channel magical energy, granting Unicorns the ability to use a variety of spells. Unlike Pegasi, who need to cultivate their powers to use them, Unicorns are able to use magic at birth, and need to practice in order to control this magic. While seemingly the most powerful of the three, however, Unicorns are also the most vulnerable. As, unlike the other two races, it is entirely possible for a Unicorn to completely lose their abilities if their horns are broken..."

Maybe Tubbo could have been a salesman / merchant type that convinced Foolish to let him be his right handed man and Foolish agreed because ehh why not, sure, for fun! I feel like Foolishs kingdom would function less strictly than the others, he dies things that are even considered bizarre or strange for royalty to be doing like accepting Tubbo because he liked the guts Tubbo had, making chaotic choices against kingdom but claiming neutrality among the others. I see it as a kingdom that parties often but it's still a beautiful and incredibly decorated one that awes people when they come in, having a golden/slivery color palette? Maybe Foolosh was royalty because his family had founded the kingdom long ago with some capybaras, or rumors has it. The symbol animal is capybaras or dragons, if you want to stick more with the medieval theme, I'm just trying to think of suggestions.
Maybe Foolishs kingdom and the demon kingdom have a history of arguing/bickering, just never getting along. So then the parents of those kingdoms (and Foolish/Bads) would constantly set up playdates for their princes in hope that if they were exposed to each other early then they would be the ones to break the cycle. Or! You could have it so that their kingdoms naturally get along, if you find that funnier, so the parents made them playdates because they assumed that it would continue their kingdoms tradition of friendship.
Maybe Tina was a maid in Bads kingdom but she was still a kid so she, foolish and Bad hung out together. But when she got older, she began disliking the demon kingdom and moved to Foolishs kingdom instead - even though shes a demon, she wants to start new somewhere else - I assume that she hung out with foolish whenever he was at the demon kingdom as kids but she never got to go to his while Bad did. Sometimes she visits the demon kingdom because it was still her home.
i think im keeping tina as part of the demon kingdom, shes too good as part of it to move somewhere else and i restructured the whole deal with the fobo area with a friend LOL. it's got some ideas cooking. but tubbo and foolish definitely have an interesting. deal to them both.

Hermitcraft/Life Series Kingdoms AU Magic System!
I said I would explain the magic system and that I shall do!
Basics
Magic flows through the lands, but only those who study it (and Sorcerers, who are born knowing it) can harness it
Magic can cause all sorts of things to happen, and some types are more powerful than others. Many students will specialise in one or two types of magic in order to stay in control
There are plenty of universities specialising in different magics, and some professors / experts will take apprentices
Magic can take over a person’s body and mind if it is left unchecked. This happens to sorcerers a lot, and is called ‘Mage Sickness’. More on this here!
Mage Sickness and corruption appears on the body physically, and has the nickname 'Sculk'.
Some entities feed on Magic, draining the energy from their victims
Souls, which everyone has, contain a huge amount of magic, making them particularly appealing to demons and other creatures that eat magic / life energy
Life energy = soul magic, stored both in the soul itself and the physical body
If someone loses their soul, they can become corrupted in some way, or die
Types of Magic
Technological Magic: similar to electricity, this magic allows the educated user to invent new technologies, and it is known as the least ‘magical’ form of magic, as it relies on the physical presence of mechanical parts to function
Life Magic: this magic focuses on healing and nature, often used in hospitals. These magic users create many potions to heal people, as well as channelling their own life energy to heal others or to grow plants
Mind Magic: associated with illusions and mind control, this magic is highly controversial, as it can be used to access another person’s memories, thoughts, and internal identity.
Animagic: the use of magic to talk to, create, control, or transform animals. These magic users tend to be Hybrids, as it comes easily to them, but not all are.
Construction/Destruction Magic: everything from conjuring a rabbit out of a hat to destroying a house, this type of magic steals from the user’s energy, exhausting them more depending on the size of a task.
Divination: magic users with the ability to see into the future and tell of potential events to come, usually with a vagueness that keeps the future open to manipulation. These magic users are often part of travelling groups, using their magic for commercial purposes.
Astrology: magic harnessed from the positioning of the stars, planets, moons, and the ocean, growing stronger when these elements align rightly. Usually used in conjunction with other types of magic, as it is more a power source than function.
Potion Magic: the use of magic to enhance potions made from select magical ingredients.
Alchemy: the manipulation of precious metals for magical purpose. These mages often seek the cure for ageing or death, believing the answer to be held within the earth’s natural resources.
Spirit Magic: magic used to talk to the dead. Whether this magic conjures a true spirit or simply a convincing illusion (as a type of mind magic) is hotly debated.
Ritual Magic: magic which gains power from specific rituals such as chants, sacrifices, or burning candles. Seen as rather tacky by other magic users, as it can be learned by beginners very quickly.
Soul Magic: an illegal form of magic used by demons which can manipulate someone’s soul. The other participant has to be technically ‘willing’, so demons will often use deals and contracts to acquire the soul.
Necromancy: the lowest form of dark magic, used to bring the dead back to life. This magic is illegal, and is not taught at universities. It is the magic which corrupts the fastest.
