Im watching Komi Cant Communicate

The representation of queer people in the anime is better than average. Im particularly intrigued by the genderfluid character Osana Najimi.

Najimi is the social glue of the show, and orchestrates all the non-school sanctioned gatherings. She knows everyone. So his social role is one of high esteem.

Najimi doesnt show romantic interest in any of the characters, but the guys express interest in him. In sleepovers, Najimi sleeps with the girls, but in situations of communal bathing, she bathes alone. I find this demarcation of roles interesting, its nice to see Any positive take on trans youth.

There are a couple of situations i can remember where the girls were a little sus of his presence in their spaces, but the prevailing sentiment I see from all the classmates is friendly. At no point are they ever hostile to her, nor do they even really question the shifting nature of his presentation.

Its a good show.

Genuinely how do anime-onlys of literally any series do it. Whenever I get obsessed with a show and I KNOW there's more, I have to immediately go and devour the manga. Your guys' patience is something else.

I love when a show uses its own theme song inside the show, like the characters use it as their ringtone or they whistle it or something :3
