DIALOGUE #1:

곧 여름 휴가인데 휴가 때 뭘 할 거예요?

The summer vacation is coming soon; what would you like to do during the vacation?

국내 여행을 하고 싶은데 좋은 곳을 알아요?

I want to travel around the country; do you know a good place to go?

저는 작년에 제주도에서 자전거로 여행을 했어요. 경치가 아름다웠어요.

I travelled around in Jeju Island by bicycle last year. The scenery was beautiful.

저는 차로만 여행을 해 봤는데 자전거 여행도 좋을것 같아요.

I travelled around only by car, but it would be good to travel around by bicycle.

(으)로 - describe the tool or method used (by/with/to/using)

만 - only

아/어해 보다 - to talk about experience

ㄹ/을 것 같다 - I think that,.. It seems like,.. (about future situation)

혼자 여행을 한 적이 있어요?

Have you travelled alone before?

아니요, 혼자 여행을 한 적이 없어요. 서연 씨는요?

No, I have not travelled alone before. How about you Ms. Seoyon?

저는 혼자 여행을 자주 해요. 혼자 여행하면 마음대로 구경하고 쉴 수 있어서 좋아요.

I travel alone frequently. It's nice to be able to look around and take a rest at my disposal if I travel alone.

Retro Korea Kitchen Set and Door for The Sims 2

These are 4to2 conversions from KKB (Kitchen - Door), low poly. 10 colors for the kitchen counter and cabinet and 17 for the door. The set includes: - a 3 tile kitchen counter with a slot for food prep/sink and two slots for deco purpose (you can put a omsp on them to prepare food too if you want, the second one is ideal for the stove), - a 3 tile kitchen cabinet (3 deco slots on it, on the shelf where I put the juice can to let you see), - a functional stove (can be used to fry and bake too), - a deco tableware shelf, - a functional door (that's medium poly).

Past tense 과거 시제

You’ll get the rule, examples and practices to do

Polite form: Verb stem +았/었/였+어요

Very polite: Verb stem +았/었/였+습니다

Casual: Verb stem +았/었/였+어

Verb stem : verb - 다

★필요하다: To need 필요하

★내리다 : To get off 내리

★(잠을) 자다 : To sleep 잠을 자

★결혼하다: To get married 렬혼하

★보이다: To be seen, to be visible 보이

★바꾸다 : To change 바꾸

★놀다: To play, to hang out 놀 … 등

~If the verb stem's last vowel is ㅏ or ㅗ : then 았어(요) is used

Examples (예문) :

★만나다 ( to meet)=>만나 만났어요

저는 지난 주말에 친구를 만났어요 I met my friend last weekend

★가다 (to go)=> 가 갔어요

저는 카페에 갔어요 I went to the café

★오다 (to come)=> 오 왔어요

집에 왔어요 I came home

~If the verb stem's last vowel is Not ㅏor ㅗ: then 었어(요) is used

Examples (예문) :

★주다 (to give)=>주 줬어요

아빠가 저한테 선물을 줬어요 My dad gave me a gift/ a present

★마시다 (to drink)=> 마시 마셨어요 (마시+었어=마셨어 )

커피를 마셨어요 I drank coffee

★먹다(to eat) => 먹 먹었어요

★웃다 (to smile, to laugh ) => 웃 웃었어요

★보이다 (to be seen, be visible ) =>보이 보였어요

~If the verb stem ends with 하 you add 였어요 (하+였어요 =했어요) To put it simply 하changes to 해

Examples (예문) :

★사랑하다 (to love)=> 사랑하 사랑했어요

저는 너를 사랑했어요 I loved you

★요리하다 (to cook) => 요리하 요리했어요

저는 점심을 요리했어요 I cooked lunch

★공부하다 (to study)=> 공부하 공부했어요

하루종일 한국어를 공부했어요 I studied korean all day

~So how can we turn the past tense to formal?

Verb stem +았/었/였+습니다 Instead of 어요, (Verb stem +았/었/였+어요) we replace it with 습니다

★필요하다: To need 필요했습니다

★내리다 : To get off 내렸습니다

★잠을 자다 : To sleep 잠을 잤습니다

★결혼하다: To get married 렬혼했습니다

★보이다: To be seen, to be visible 보였습니다

★바꾸다 : To change 바꿨습니다

★놀다: To play, to hang out 놀았습니다

⟢ highlight of the hour: my dearest [19/21] ⟣

it's simple

v big news for annoying people called rusquared. so the song that was my most played in 2023 has a DUET VERSION NOW. fuck.

context: the song is sung in both korean & japanese, as a love letter to a lover on the other side of the ocean. it is assumed the lover speaks japanese and the singer korean, so she translates every line of her letter as she sings it to them.

so a duet, featuring a japanese singer, is just putting it in a whole different meaning. its a conversation now, not just a wistful song sung at the ocean's edge. at the end, the japanese singer sings in korean and the korean singer in japanese. they don't sound natural. they're singing words of love that they're not fluent in, but understand intimately.

the lyrics, to anyone interested (amateur translation i did w/ google's help):
