WOWWW....that Rue x Hob scene during the masquerade ball got me major effed up. I had to pause and gasp after every word Brennan spoke, holy shit. I just haaad to redraw it and I only hope I captured even just a fraction of the tension (and to be quite frank, eroticism) of the scene.

The Hob/Rue romance is just if those two core parts of Mr. Darcy were courting each other. Hob is the whole “I’m tall and have anxiety+ someone who I’m trying to protect” Thing

and Rue is “I’m in love with you, I’m going to write dramatically about it, but oh god shit fuck society god wait give me the letter no one can know oh shit was it hold on no wait-”

since my klimt rendition of these two is now outdated due to episode four I decided to make another battlemaster of ceremonies work, this time with rue in their beautiful true form!!! the meeting on the turret stairs is so so beautiful and suits them quite well I think. thank you for all the love on my previous the kiss fanart, this community is so lovely <3

My stance in episode 1 was that Andhera and KP definitely fucked in the battle we heard about where KP has his blade to Andhera's neck and didn't land the killing blow, but I'm older now. I've learned and now in episode 2 we learn that in the present Andhera is a kid barely keeping it together in a stressful Regency environment with all these expectations weighing them down and I doubt it was any better in the past. I can imagine Andhera, Prince of the Unseelie Court, having been only trained in showy and theatrical use of his weapons be expected to lead(or at least join) the Unseelie forces against the Goblins and as Prince, Pride of the Unseelie, face off against the Goblins' best warrior, Captain K.P. Hob and of course, get bested by a seasoned fighter. And as Captain Hob had the prince of his enemy at his mercy, I think he saw some of Andhera's true character and it reminded Hob of himself. Both are the opposite of their courts respected values. Andhera is kind and sweet in a court of darkness and coldness. Hob is loyal and honorable in a court of chaos and untrustworthyness.

I have decided that their past is not one of former lovers but of kinship and maybe a mentor-student relationship as KP takes Andhera under his wing. Based on the clip of episode 3 we saw, Andhera will be expected to duel Theodore as challenged, find himself in way over his head and KP will take his place.
