Hella Tired In The Morning?
You guys. I was going to do a masterlist of websites a lot time ago but totally forgot about it (something you’ll have to get used to *abnoxious laughing*) I’ll get it done, I promise! In the meantime, I felt like I’ve been struggling with the problem of feeling absolutely exhausted the next morning. I mean, no, I haven’t been getting enough sleep because I’ve been studying a lot. (Also, I don’t recommend this and I’m trying to stop because no matter how successful you want to be, you also need lots and lots of sleep, so by all means please take care of yourself !!)
1). Drink water.
Drinking water first thing in the morning has so many benefits (!!). It boosts your metabolism, helps you flush out toxins, helps power your brain - really good before school, obvioiusly - and also wakes you up in the morning. I typically drink 2-3 glasses before I leave for school. Don’t have time? Drink one glass with breakfast and at least you’re somewhat hydrated. Seriously. Just do et!
2). Do a little exercise.
I think we all know how great exercising is good for you. It helps boost your metabolism in the morning and does a great job at waking you up in the morning. You don’t have to shoot for a solid hour (or even 20 minutes) of exercise. Just do a few jumping jacks or sit-ups. Anything will help.
3). caffeine is p gr8.
Go drink some coffee or something. If you don’t like coffee, tea is still an awesome way to boost your body up.
4). Don’t stick to a morning routine.
Morning routines are fantastic. Any routines are fantastic. But if you’re tired, routines can seem more monotonous and may not help your “sleepy” situation. Try to do something a little out of your norm. Fix a new meal or do something out of order. A little change might perk up your attitude and keep you on your feet.
5). Get pumped up!!
There’s nothing better than getting ready in the morning and listening to some of those sick beats to get you motivated. I typically stick to hard classic rock or top 40, but anything that gets you moving works!
6). Shower.
Personally, I’m a night shower-er so showering in the morning is rare for me. I do shower in the mornings, however, if I need to wake up in the morning. Just don’t get the water too warm. You’ll end up falling asleep, not that I’m speaking from experience, of course.
7). Eat a big breakfast.
Eating breakfast starts your metabolism up. It also can help get your brain started, making you more alert. Plus, breakfast is important so you should defs do it anyway.
8). If at all possible, sleep a little later.
For some people, this is impossible, or it makes the problem worse. Still, I typically am able to, if I know I’m going to pull a late-nighter, put out exactly what I need for the next morning to get ready. That so I can sleep during that extra time that on a normal day I’d be stressing out about what to wear.
9). Dress up a little.
Going to school in sweatpants and a hoodie is fab. Like, trust me, it’s the best. And I’m all for wearing whatever you want. But if you have only gotten four hours of sleep the night before, comfy clothes are just going to make you feel relaxed and you might be extra tempted to fall asleep during class. Trust me, it sucks.

What I absolutely love seeing in the studyblr community is everyone referring to each other by name. Knowing each other’s name, whether it’s a nickname or a pseudonym, makes me feel like everyone here is so important. I feel important, even if I’m not being the one talked to. Someone took the time to learn my name, that a piece of who I am is with them, cheering me on. That, being referred to by name, such a simple act, makes me want to continue in this community and succeed. It has been the factor that has made me feel most welcome - and would like to thank you 💕

It's only Wednesday and this week has been the toughest so far. I'm struggling, but it's ok. I'm 6 weeks into the semester and I think the days are telling me there's not enough time in them to get everything I need done. I'm getting there, though.
Also, wish me luck on this anatomy exam I have today. I'm going to need it.

The Handmaid’s Tale - K’s  review
I feel super super bad for reading and reviewing this so late. After over two weeks, I finally finished the novel two nights ago.
I think one reason that it took me so long to read this book was due to Atwood’s unique writing style. At first, it threw me off quite a bit. I found myself highly confused for the first part of the book and had to turn back and re-read a little, for fear that I had missed something. Fortunately, once I got about halfway into it, I got much more engaged.
I absolutely loved the characterization and development of the characters in this novel! Especially Moira. I was absolutely living for that woman. As for Offred, her character’s attitude towards everything was also pretty intriguing. I loved how with the more stories she told, the more she wanted to go against the system. At least, that’s how I found it. Also, rebellious Offred gave me life.
Nick was one of my favorites, too. My theory is that he had more feelings for Offred than he let her know. (You know, like when he acted really upset when taking Offred the Commander to the club? Jealous much?)  But, he was kind of in a bad place because of her being a handmaid. I kind of squealed in finding out that they kept seeing each other. Still, I wonder if Nick could be trusted? I’m not too sure that he was an Eye because he would have turned her in earlier (wishful thinking), but what if he was trying to get as much information as possible from her before doing so. Then, when Serena found out about Offred and the Commander, he just decided to go ahead and turn her in.
On the ending: I loved the cliffhanger at the end. I was a little unsettled by it at first because I still want answers! But I also really liked it in a way, because it was kind of an ending that my eighth-grade English teacher would make my class write an alternate ending to. I find myself still frustrated at it, but I can come to peace with it because I feel like it feeds into Offred’s uncertainty about the other aspects of her life, too: her daughter and Luke, Nick, or Ofglen (a character whom I also loved), etc.
OK so despite the hype in this review, I must say that the plot was quite anti-climatic. I did enjoy the story. However, I got towards the end and almost caught myself wondering if I wasted a good two weeks of time on a book that didn’t benefit me much. I guess I have a lot of mixed feelings about this book. While I loved the characters and story, I felt as if the society was unrealistic and I found it hard to accept. Also, the writing style as mentioned before. Although I loved the story, I find a few things that were a little off.
Added thought: I loved the Jezebel’s part in this novel. I felt as if it was making a statement regarding idealized standards placed on women. Like, women are to be quiet and their purpose is to only reproduce BUT an exception is allowed if it benefits us. I thought it kind of subtly touched on the hypocrisy/double standards placed on women, which was kind of interesting.
