Record of Isekai
Crossovers are going to be the death of me. Not many things make me feel the same as pairing two universes that mingle well (and sometimes that don’t) and seeing something wonderful come out of it.
But how about 10+ series? Following the Record of Ragnarok formula is possible, and I need people talking about this.
Summary
Existence was made up by several universes, endless worlds connected with each other. Normally independent from each other, one day, the divinity of each world came together and decided the fate of those that are transported and reborn to new worlds: Erasure. Yet thanks to a certain Valkyrie, they would get a fighting chance! Thirteen against thirteen, in a battle called Ragnarok! Gods, divine and similar would face the mortals in one against one duels! Will the divine get what they want or will the mortals defy fate itself?
Review
First and foremost, aside from being a crossover fan, I must admit that I really like the isekai genre. A fat chunk of it is trash, don’t get me wrong. But we don’t always need a gourmet dish to satiate our hunger. Sometimes the shitty burger with more grease than actual nutritious content is just the thing we’re craving.
But I digress. Why am I talking about Record of Isekai?
Well, obviously because it’s fun. It’s well-written. There’s obviously a lot of thought going into each fight, but most importantly it doesn’t suffer from the same problem that the canon RoR suffers.
If you read Record of Isekai, it’s probably because you liked RoR and at least know some of the fighters that are going to be on the human side. Characters like the isekai quartet, Rudeus Greyrat, and Cid Kagenou have all been gathered to fight for the right to jump between worlds and to continue existing no matter what the gods say. And that’s perfect for the story that this fanfic is trying to tell.
We know these character, or at least have an idea of who they are. The story doesn’t dwell too much in their backstories because of this, and the pacing doesn’t suffer as result. Furthermore, the gods that fight are also from other series that people can recognize and be surprised by. And as result, each outcome is all the more impactful. You cheer for these guys to win, even if you don’t like their series, because the gods they’re pinned against really test their might. The OP pls nerf factor of isekai MCs is effectively nullified as they enter the arena. The bleakness feels even worse because you know most of those characters could probably fight toe to toe with RoR gods.
So if you like the premise or isekai or crossovers, go give this story a shot. You can find it on Space Battles and AO3. I won’t say anything else because it could spoil the battles. I’ll only tag with the series I remember seeing.
And don’t forget to support the author, if you want. It’s a great story and I honestly don’t want it to get dropped. Hope this post helps spread the word!

Fiction Breaker: Beyond Reality
read it on AO3 at https://archiveofourown.org/works/50886295 by RTOmega Purple hair, Purple eyes. Diva, a simple game character suddenly finds herself in reality. No longer bound by simple code, but having the potential to unlock much more. This is the story of Diva Celestive, once an all-powerful game character in the rim, now a person able to do much much more! -------------------- Diva is an OC created by me, I use the same character in all my Rimworld playthroughs so I decided why not make her interact with even more fiction? The characters from other-verses may act or seem out of norm, but hey, this is just a fanfic. Most dietys will know or atleast have heard of other dietys. All verses can crossover, but I will try to make it atleast reasonable. So, Hat Kid talking with Ladybug? Rimuru arguing with Aqua? Cup Head vs Tanya? Luz interacting with Powerpuff Girls? Perhaps, perhaps not. (All Diva art was generated by AI) (PS, this story was originaly called 'Diva, the Celestive' but Fiction Breaker sounds so amazing that I just had to change it!) (This story will be a total random crossover, so I will add more and more verses as I write. There are a few main plot points I decided but mostly other stuff are things I write on a whim.) Words: 15215, Chapters: 6/?, Language: English Fandoms: Ominoverse, RimWorld (Video Game), 転生したらスライムだった件 - 伏瀬 | Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken | That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime - Fuse, Undertale (Video Game), 蜘蛛ですが なにか? | Kumo desu ga Nani ka | So I'm a Spider So What? - Okina Baba, 魔王学院の不適合者 | Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha | The Misfit of Demon King Academy (Anime), この素晴らしい世界に祝福を! | KonoSuba: God's Blessing on this Wonderful World! - All Media Types, No Game No Life - Kamiya Yuu, Portal (Video Game), Half-Life (Video Games), A Hat in Time (Video Game) Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: Graphic Depictions Of Violence Categories: Gen Characters: Diva Celestive (OC), Omino (OC), Zen (OC), GLaDOS (Portal), Rimuru Tempest, Hat Kid (A Hat In Time), Undertale Player, Kumoko (So I'm a Spider So What?), Shiraori | Shiro, Anos Voldigoad, Eris (KonoSuba), Tet (No Game No Life) Additional Tags: Crossover, Crossovers & Fandom Fusions, Game: Rimworld: Biotech DLC read it on AO3 at https://archiveofourown.org/works/50886295

Web novel appreciation post
I consider myself a anime otaku and I like to watch anime, read manga, share anime memes, talk about anime with my friends, and I like to spend a lot of my money on anime related stuff, but on the last 8 years I have read more web novels than I have watched anime, at the moment I am writing this I have 9 tabs open on my browser with web novels that I refresh everyday to read the latest translated chapter, because I fell in love with this media and I want to use this opportunity to talk about it.
I have lived on the outskirts of Santiago since 2011, so I spend and have spent a lot of my time on public transport, 3-4 hours a day and sometimes even more, and I have found that for me what works the best to pass time is music and whatever web novel I am currently reading, I fell less observed than when I’m reading a manga or watching an anime, it does not use as much battery on my phone and I am not doing anything illegal because web novels are free and accessible to everyone on the internet; at the beginning I only read on my commute to school, but after a while (and when I found web novels I liked a lot) I started reading at home at the hours I used to watch anime, to the point that right now although I want to watch some of the anime adaptations of the light novel adaptations of the web novels that I have read (Like Mushoku Tensei, Tate no Yuusha, Kumo Desu ga nani ka?, and others) I end up reading another web novel instead.
If you like watching anime I really recommend to start reading web novels (A good place to begin looking for them is novelupdates.com, it is kind of the myanimelist of light and web novels) because they in some way written as if they were an anime, in the sense that you can see in your head the scenes described by the author, and a lot of the tropes that are common in anime are also common in web novels, and if you do not want to limit yourself to japanese media I also recommend some of the Korean novels (Regressed Demon lord is kind, Trash of the Count’s family, The legendary Moonlight sculptor, Overgeared, The Second coming of Gluttony, and others) but due to the theme of the class I am going to talk about the japanese ones.
Just like fanfics and other self-published unedited web media, there are a lot of amateur works, badly written and poorly paced novels, but you can also find the raw uncensored work (in the sense of not trying to appeal to specific audiences and the restrictions of publishing companies) of excellent beginner authors, so to get into this world I recommend starting with the most popular web novels and then delving deeper into the more unknown ones, note of advice to avoid unnecessary suffering, check the chapter release frequency because there are some web novels that are translated daily and others that are translated once a month.
So as a sort of summary/review and to get people interested I am going to talk about the web novel that was adapted to manga in 2019 “Rebuild World”. The novel takes place in a post-apocalyptic future where the technology of that world reached the point where people if they wanted to could upload themselves to robotic bodies identical to human ones; knives could cut through thick cement walls; normal looking clothes could deflect bullets and people were able to create robots and AIs for any kind of work, but by the time the story takes place that was a thing of the past, no one know exactly what happened but the apocalyptic event was a long time ago and humanity now lives in a few cities and outposts in wastelands filled with ruins that used to be the cities of the “Old World”, fighting against synthetic monsters armed to the teeth (sometimes literally) produced in AI controlled factories, to collect Old world artifacts that cannot be produced with the current technology to keep surviving, the people that venture out to the wastelands are called Hunters and they sort of work like your typical “Adventurer’s guild”.
In this world there is an orphan boy called Akira (I think I see a reference here) who lives in the slums of one of these cities, after obtaining a gun he goes unprepared to the wastelands where he finds a naked woman standing calmly in the middle of the ruins as if nothing could harm her and after that meeting Akira’s life changes forever.
The world and characters of this novel are well defined and the relationship between them and the main character are excellently fleshed out to the point where it comes across as a believable world, the fight scenes kind of remind me of a mix between Mad Max: Fury Road and Blade Runner; sometimes they are action packed, filled with explosions and bullets flying everywhere with some other crazy stuff and other times they are one on one fights with clever use of the environment and technology with a little bit of psychological warfare. There are wholesome moments that still remind you that Akira is just a boy interacting with other people but at the same time you see this ruthless kid hardened by what he has lived through and how this is reflected on his environment and relationships and how he responds to certain events, where he gets close to people but never close enough and always living on edge, never letting things unfinished due to his broken personality and carefulness. Akira is a character with lots of flaws but thanks to this he offers an interesting perspective on an uncommon type of main character, and once I get up to date with the latest translated chapter I plan to read the manga and I hope that someday I will get to watch an anime adaptation of this work.

So, I started reading @loekas 's "A Dragon's Choice" fanfic several months ago and felt inspired to make up a human (kind of? I really wanted him to still have some of his draconic characteristics) form for Araba )

... Also a bit of an unrelated question - does Kumoko know what vore is? And if she does is she dealt psychic damage whenever she remembers what it is while Araba carries her in his mouth? 🧍‍♂️
LMAO! Ngl, I've thought about that question myself. The story kind of demands it 😈 My answer: Kumoko doesn't actually know about it. Because otherwise she'd NEVER be ok with her Archnemesis' favorite tactic to keep her safe. However, just because Kumoko doesn't know about it right now, doesn't mean she can't learn later...
