what's your favorite beverage and does it change seasonally? I adore PSLs and have been thinking of getting into iced coffee with other flavors so I can have it outside of the fall

My favorite beverage will ALWAYS be Dr. Pepper

But since I can only have one every blue moon, I also enjoy sweet tea and sprite (no caffeine version)

I love pumpkin spice drinks, but it's hard to find non-coffee versions lol I'm really not a fan of coffee. I do love the vanilla bean Frappuccino from Starbucks and the oreo or strawberry slush from Kung Fu Tea. Honey milk tea or chocolate milk tea with Boba are also amazing 👏

currently working as an environmental tech! erm daily i am acid washing glassware and other lab things. i will be on a boat doing sampling soon though so i am looking forward to it

planning to do an msc this fall but i haven't actually set anything in motion yet.....

yes bc you have to if you drive in hong kong. drive through parking spots are a fantasy there

a job you had that would surprise people?

went up to arctic and lived on military base for 4 months doing environment stuff and it was very cool esp the polar night

do you think aliens are real?

statistically they probably are maybe? idk i'd have to see the science but right now i'd say no.

can you drive a manual car?

no.....that sounds scary.......

same as spinecorset i do not generally do guilty pleasures but probably like. eating a big bowl of creamy pasta then watching a film or tv show while pleasantly sleepy in a food coma

no because parents would skin me and also because i love going to onsens too much. i would get a little peregrine falcon somewhere if i could. and also something silly and food-related like a sweet potato or a vitasoy carton

favourite colour?

depends on the situation as i love many colours!! blue or purple but i'm picky about shades (e.g. i have a strong dislike for intl klein blue...reminds me too much of blue screen of death)

favourite type of music?

my spotify likes are a huge mix but i'd say hozier/the crane wives/folk songs/songs w narratives in general/cantopop (70s to 2010s)/melancholy opening/closing themes of cdramas/dramatic fight background music

do you like puzzles?

am a hater because 1. i have no patience, 2. i am bad at it and it requires sitting still and 3. have too many hobbies i would rather be doing

any phobias?

spiders, worms, centipedes (<- pretty standard boring normie ones sorry) but it's to the point where if there's a photograph or realistic drawing in a book i can't open said book

favourite childhood sport?

badminton but not competitive and tbh i really only enjoy it more now as an adult. tbh snowboarding is my eternal favourite even though it's been a few years + snow presence is getting worse

both but not at the same time (don't understand appeal of yinyeung), i LOVE milk tea (hk, thai, malay esp 3-layer tea) and tbh i put a lot of sugar/condensed milk...i also do like coffee (caramel latte w whipped cream and syrup). anyway i love hot sweet drinks in general

first thing you wanted to be growing up?

vet bc i like animals but thankfully i moved past it (i genuinely think becoming a vet is more difficult than becoming a dr. also the mental toll is extreme)

The slush, which was tropical passionfruit-flavored along with a layer of blue milk to evoke the Minions' iconic overalls, came in a special Minions-themed cup.

Comfort drink(s): I like to have a coffee because it tastes good, but I don't tolerate caffeine well so it often makes me explode right after. Herbal teas. Regular/black tea with milk and honey.

Comfort movie(s): Kung Fu Panda, maybe? I don't watch it often, but it has that effect. Uhh, last year at one point I kept rewatching the first 8 minutes of Bungo Stray Dogs: DEAD APPLE. ...OH yeah! The other answer could be End of Evangelion. I have issues, dw about it.

Comfort show(s): Bungo Stray Dogs Wan! The problem is I don't watch it often enough! There should be more here, but I haven't been watching a lot of stuff lately... it's hard to motivate myself to do so.

Comfort clothing: A big, heavy wool jumper my mum made for me. I like it because it has weight to it.

There’s that quote “I do not have a dream job. I do not dream of labor.” Honestly I kindof feel that although some houses look very nice, if you spend much time thinking about them you are shallow and should find a more interesting ambition. My actual dream would be to be in a situation where I didn’t have to think about houses...

sungodsevenoclock​’s answer to this question noted that people’s dream homes are influenced by their childhood environments. In fact, while I was traveling this summer I had a look at the place where I grew up as a kid: a city block of terraced houses and low-rise apartment buildings surrounding a pedestrian environment with patios and shared green spaces. And I was all “oh wow, this is really nice, an ideal environment to raise children in”.    

I genuinely think it feels extremely nice and cozy. It’s very Christopher Alexander-ish: a mixture of passages at different scales; transitions from shared pathways to private patios; things fitting together unevenly (gyō); living plants shaping the passages and blocking sightlines; pitched roofs.  

This all just makes me more sour on the concept of houses, and about being physically embodied at all. Like, these are not even my opinions, arrived at through conscious deliberation, it’s something I was imprinted on like a duck.

quilt - how do you take your tea (or coffee)?

We usually make a big pot of green tea in the morning to drink during the day, so that’s the most by volume, but I also like black tea with lots of milk and sugar. And of course bubble tea (my favorite chain is Kung Fu Tea).

does the alley serve any coffee drinks? no but based purely on aesthetic, it’s definitely a type of place i could see him going to. the music is always good and actually played at a normal volume, people are usually there to work or are generally pretty quiet, and there’s the tiniest amount of sunlight possible

i can see both him and narancia liking kung fu tea and coco. mostly because they’re affordable and have pretty normal options, but are generally more interesting than chatime. but i think narancia would gravitate more towards kung fu tea and mista towards coco since king fu tea focuses more on fruit based drinks and mista would probably think it’s less worth it than a milk tea

okay so i may or may not be biased because this is the drink that i usually order

but i feel like out of the entire gang, fugo and bucciarati are probably the most familiar

and we know fugo has taste because he likes strawberry shortcake, so why not a drink that’s basically liquid strawberry?

he definitely has very bougie preferences, probably likes herbal or “healthy” toppings like bucciarati

only difference being he tends to go for strawberry flavours instead of actual tea

despite his preferences, he’s probably tried every drink out there for research purposes

probably has a spreadsheet with different stores, their drinks, and ratings for things like their atmosphere, customer service, drink to topping ratio, etc

all in all, the most seasoned boba enjoyer

as the only store that sells this drink (and also my personal favourite), i think that his favourite would be shuyi tealicious. it has a lot of drinks and toppings that are hard to find outside of taiwan and has a very curated feel to it that i think fugo would enjoy. the store’s aesthetic is also bright and minimalistic, so it’s the perfect place to study

genuinely enjoys and appreciates bubble tea though

he’s probably really into the customization aspect of it and how the combinations are basically endless

i genuinely don’t think he’s ever out the straw in correctly in his life

has probably accidentally stabbed the straw in through the bottom

as i mentioned before, i think kung fu tea would fit his vibes. they have a lot of promotions, fruit flavoured drinks, and also a yakut line. i think out of the entire group he’d also be the most into drinks with honey in them instead of sugar (idk why but hey to each their own)

i don’t see her experimenting that often, like once she’s found a drink that fits her aesthetic that’s it
