kunimi akira,

it starts with the revelation that you hooked up with iwaizumi hajime during your trip in california years back, where you met up with your old senpai for old time’s sakes and had. . . fun.

kunimi, your darling boyfriend of four years, raises an eyebrow but his expression remains flat as everyone across the table— a little seijoh reunion brought on by oikawa senpai coming back after so many years since he’s moved to argentina — explodes in guffaws and shocked calls for shots! shots!, and makki-senpai’s particular love shots! love shots! and back to kindaichi, red-cheeked, more wasted than he thinks he is, and not so subtly nudging his friend with did you know? bro? omg?

“you guys are fucking exhausting,” hajime-senpai says after smacking makki on the back of his head. but his cheeks are tint pink and oikawa senpai is poking at them until he swatted the other man away. he meets your eyes briefly and you only sigh. “it’s been years since that happened. before you, akira.”

“of course it was.” you don’t mean to snap at your senpai, but adding to the fact was like poking on a bleeding wound. you turn to your boyfriend, pouting. “please don’t be weird.”

he continues to raise his eyebrow. akira is always so hard to read when he’s drunk. he is so quiet and you could never read what’s on his mind. “i’m not being weird.”

“did you know?” kindaichi whispers again. you throw him a death glare, willing him to become tiny and drown in his shot of vodka he was supposed to take out of a now forgotten drinking game.

“ok, but that’s not the question that’s in all our minds.” oikawa senpai rests a shoulder on makki senpai’s head. which normally would result in a heavy swat, but your other senpai is grinning at you two; his friend and his kouhai with a drunk, half lidded gaze. smirk growing when his eyes flicker to kunimi. kunimi’s eyes narrow at the slightest and the thudding in your heart is so loud, you wonder if you throw something— anything at him in the array of spent food — would calm it down.

“who’s the best sex you’ve ever had?”

everyone’s entire body seize up, the question settling into drunk addled brains, before it explodes. iwaizumi senpai is trying to reach oikawa to strangle him, yeet him, all of the above, makki senpai is laughing whilst watari senpai is trying to shut him up but his eyes are wide too, issei senpai and yahaba senpai are filming everything, and kindaichi is mooning over your boyfriend’s reaction with blinks and wide eyes.

you slam the shot glass down. the room quiets.

“one, that was inappropriate.” you jut a finger at him, devil may care with the status quo. “i will smack you when you least expect it, senpai. before you leave the country again.”

oikawa grins, settling down. “fair.”

“and the best sex—”

“you don’t—” iwaizumi tries to interject but your eyes are on your boyfriend.

“— is aki. sorry senpai. he knows how to make me scream.”

the room quiets. . . before it explodes again, and you didn’t care that everyone is now cajoling iwaizumi senpai; your eyes are on your boyfriend with kindaichi patting him on the head as if ‘good job, man’.

you sidle up next to him, shoving kindaichi into the raucous laughter and snuggling into his shoulder.

“scream, huh?” kunimi whispers against the shell of your ear, laughing lightly. meanly. “i think you’re one letter too long.”

you grin, blushing. “mmh. that too.”

sugawara kōshi,

it was a stupid game.

everyone knew it, you knew it, your mother’s father probably knew it. but reunions are only as fun as the drinking games they bleed out of the drunk and the compromised inhibition.

“y/n!” you didn’t like the evil gleam in your darling lover’s eyes. you adore him so much, but the man is an absolute menace when he’s drunk. no man left unhurt, no stone left unturned.

you sigh at the bottle pointing your way, leaning against a sleepy asahi and meeting your lover’s grin with a small smile of your own. the night is slowing down, everyone knows that, at this point it was just letting the hyperactive ones and gremlins to tire themselves out.

this vacation reunion of sorts was a respite from the daily grind and to look back into the years you guys spent together in those short few years in high school. a cabin was rented, a lake and fireflies in the summer, and barbecue grilled and overflowing with alcohol and memories.

“yes, my love?”

noya blusters forward, blinking and grinning. “truth or de-hic! dare!”

“truth, and move— you’re dipping your fingers into the sauce.”

“oh s-sorry!”

you wrinkle your nose at him. “you’re going to smell like vinegar tonight, go wash up.”

“’aight! i’ll be taking asa-hic!hi with me!” as he wrangles his favourite person, you’re left with suga and a passed out bundle of former first years in the corner, complaining about the busted aircon in their room and are sprawled across the open lanai.

as the drag and pull of noya and asahi slowly disappear, you take another barbecue piece, now cold more than anything, swipe it with some sauce and pop it in your mouth happily.

“you didn’t answer,” suga pipes, sprawling his legs underneath him, stomach and elbows down, and palms on his chin as he blinks at you prettily.

“answer what?”

“truth or dare.”

you sigh. “koshi.”

“pretty please?” he blinks at you again.

“alright, i’ll bite. uh, i’m too lazy to move now and frankly too tipsy to, so truth.”

“am i the best sex you’ve ever had?”

it was, quite frankly, the worst time to try and drink soda. you splutter and choke, your nasal cavity and throat burning from the carbon, as you blink wildly. like a picture through an old film, you hilariously watch as your boyfriend rise up, panicked, and hold out a glass of water whilst smacking your back.

“what kind—” you breathe,”— of question was that, dumbass?”

he pouts, offering the water again as he start to rub soothing circles on your back. “a curious one? are you not going to answer? will you jump into the lake then?”

“jump?”

“that’s the dare.”

“you’re awful.”

“the more you don’t tell me, the more—” you kiss him to shut him up, fisting his shirt to bring him closer and tangling into his taste and tongue until a sigh leaves his lips, damn near cross eyed when you both pull away. you laugh.

“you tell me, hm?” you smirk. “i think you can answer that question well yourself.”

akaashi keiji,

one day. just one day you were going to kill konoha akinori.

“so? y/n? care to share your thoughts?”

alright, so today might just actually be the day.

it was the first time you and keiji were inviting people into your new home; struggle with finding the perfect place to build a life together, then moving, then getting excited with new furniture and pinterest board ideas— the day was finally here where he invites some of his former high school friends who were free.

but several bottles of wine had been opened, light oohs and ahhs of conversations have been turned to playful banter about the past and future, and as you all moved into the patio where you bragged about keiji’s newly planted little herb garden— banter became competitive.

“ya.” komi shoves him, hard. but even tatsuki’s a little red and konoha’s a gremlin when he’s drunk.

“it’s not like that!” bokuto’s furiously blushing, from the wine or the topic, no one knows because he can’t even look at you in the eye anymore and your keiji— darling future everything you’ve ever wanted — is currently silent, eyebrows raised with a pointed lip.

“it was never like that, you—” you glare at konoha who hic!ed in response. “i’m going to kill you.”

keiji laughs it off, patting your arm. “it’s okay.”

“mhm, are you sure?”

he takes your hand in his, smile soft. “of course.”

but akaashi was an overthinker. he lives in his head, and with the spirit of alcohol and the day coming to a close— a time when you both prepare for bed, a special hour that only the two of you get to see; born from intimacy and years together — he rolls over to you once all the lights are gone, eyes adjusting the sudden darkness, before you hear him quietly murmur—

“is bokuto the best sex you’ve ever had?”

what comes out of you is a frakenstein twist of a sigh and a laugh, turning your body to find him in the etched in the darkness. your hands come forward, by muscle memory, tracing his eyebrows, his nose, the curve of his soft lips.

“you’re so silly, keiji.”

“i know it doesn’t matter. just. you can tell me.”

“i can and i will,” you hum, craning your head and kissing his lips. “you’re the best. what kou and i had was a first time experience— we were both virgins trying to find our rhythms and it did not go as well as it could.”

“really?”

“mh. lukewarm, if you can believe it?”

he laughs against your neck, pulling you close. “this is the weirdest thing to be jealous of,” he murmurs against your skin.

“it is.” you kiss his head. “but i adore you regardless.”

lev haiba,

“kuroo senpai sucks.”

you snort at his huffy entrance, smirking as you finish the tasting the dinner you had been preparing. “welcome home to you as well.”

“oh.” his face changes for a second from that huffy frown to a softer smile at you, pushing back his silver hair, wet that it is, and dropping his bag to get to you. “hi, sorry. i’m home.” he wraps his arms around you and nestles his chin on your shoulder with a little pout.

you laugh. “again, welcome home. when did you meet kuroo senpai?”

“at break. at the photoshoot site.” his arms around you tighten. “he came in when i was having coffee.”

“isn’t it nice to see an old face?”

“sure, until he wonderfully reminded me that you two went out right after high school.”

you freeze slightly before you turn off the stove, turning around to rest your arms around his neck, humming at his expression. lev was always so pretty right after photoshoots; he’s scrubbed off makeup and hair product, skin glowing with the remnants of eyeliner still on line of his eyes, lips a little red from the wash, and skin— as a model, he had such glassy, smooth skin — a little red from the day’s work.

“and that got you pouting?”

he juts out his lips for emphasis, eyes darkening at the reminder. “no, it’s when he wondered who do you think’s better.”

“better?”

his chin is dipped, lashes long as he gives you a look. “better lover, babe.”

you snort. “you fell for that?”

“babe,” he whines, knocking his forehead against yours as you giggle. “so?”

“so what?”

“so who is it?”

you lean back, brushing your lips against his nose. “kuroo and i went out for a month.”

he pouts. “and?”

you sigh. “you are, haiba, the better lover. happy?”

the question feels redundant in how easy his entire demeanour and expression changes from one seemingly stupid confession— especially when he peppers your face in kisses until you complain and push him away by his very strong pecs.

until he swipes you off your feet and straight into a princess carry.

“haiba! what’re you doing, stupid!”

“ah,” he nips at your bottom lip, eyes narrowed with a smirk. “your better lover is about to make you happy.”
