ROUND 1A, MATCH 3 OUT OF 16
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Monster Stats & Propaganda Under the Cut:
Silent Magician is used by Yugi Mutou. Its stats are the following:
Attribute: LIGHT
Level: 4
Type: SPELLCASTER / EFFECT
Effect Type: SUMMONING CONDITION, CONTINUOUS, QUICK, TRIGGER
Effect (according to the anime): "Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned (from your hand) by Tributing 1 Spellcaster-Type monster, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. This card gains 500 ATK for each card in your hand. Once per turn, during either player's turn, when a Spell Card is activated: You can negate the activation. If this card is destroyed by battle, or if this card in its owner's control is destroyed by an opponent's card effect: You can Special Summon 1 "Silent Magician" monster from your hand or Deck, except "Silent Magician", ignoring its Summoning conditions."
ATK: / DEF: 1000 / 1000
Propaganda:
Shes slay, she showed up for season 5 and helped win those duels for Yugi while he was separated from Yami. She faced so many aces (dark magician, dark magician girl, SLIFER THE SKY DRAGON) and she helped Yugi define himself as his own person in front of all his friends. Also she's a very cool metaphor for Yugi's growth throughout the series. Also also she's married to silent swordsman and has a daughter, silent paladin. Silent Magician is very beautiful in all her card art and is one of the few monsters to have different colors in the anime/manga and tcg/ocg. Also also, her hip windows are neuron activating.
The Kuriboh brothers are not one card, but five, all used by Yugi Mutou/Yami Yugi. They are Kuriboh, Kuribah, Kuribeh, Kuribee, and Kuriboo. I combined them into one entry so the Kuriboh Archetype didn't entirely take over a corner of the bracket, but also because they were mostly used as one monster by Yami.
Kuriboh's stats are already listed in this poll.
Kuribah: (Purple One)
Attribute: DARK
Level: 1
Type: FIEND / EFFECT
Effect Type: IGNITION
Effect (according to the anime): "You can remove from play 1 "Kuribeh", "Kuribee", "Kuriboh", "Kuriboo", and this card you control to Special Summon 1 "Kuribabylon" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard."
ATK: / DEF: 300 / 200
Kuribeh: (Teal One)
Attribute: DARK
Level: 1
Type: FIEND / EFFECT
Effect Type: IGNITION / CONTINUOUS
Effect (according to the anime): "You can remove from play 1 "Kuribah", "Kuribee", "Kuriboh", "Kuriboo" and this card you control to Special Summon 1 "Kuribandit" from your hand or Deck. This card cannot be Tributed for a Tribute Summon."
ATK: / DEF: 300 / 200
Kuribee: (Pink One)
Attribute: DARK
Level: 1
Type: FIEND / EFFECT
Effect Type: TRIGGER/ CONTINUOUS
Effect (according to the anime): "When a face-up "Kuribah", "Kuribeh", "Kuribee", "Kuriboh" or "Kuriboo" you control is selected as an attack target, you can negate that attack. This card cannot be Tributed for a Tribute Summon."
ATK: / DEF: 300 / 200
Kuriboo: (White One)
Attribute: DARK
Level: 1
Type: FIEND / EFFECT
Effect Type: IGNITION / CONTINUOUS
Effect (according to the anime): "You can discard 1 Trap Card to select 1 face-up monster your opponent controls. That monster loses 1500 ATK until the End Phase. This card cannot be Tributed for a Tribute Summon."
ATK: / DEF: 300 / 200
Propaganda:
They are literally the cutest!!!!!!!!!!!! So colorful, so cute, so iconic.... the best thing that season 4 gave us.

The terrains the game
Agridulce. My home.
From Migo Island to Apost. 90 miles of adventure.
And we were going to race it.
Me and Mario had to race today to see how it would go down.
We started at the water tower (or as close as we can get to the water tower, with it still being repaired) in Apost, pass through the convention center in CaleMic, set up a marker at the Welcome sign in Afarr near the GolfMast Place, and finally reach the finish line at Jumpy's Sweetes, in San Bonita.
It started off pretty well.
I managed to out run Mario at the beginning it was pretty simple.
We set up checkpoints and traditional platforming structures as well some safety.
I passed my dad's work and said hi. Kind of wish I didn't because that made Mario zoom right past me.
The next checkpoint we had to reach was the convention center.
There were a couple power up stations for both of us to use. The person in first could use a Kuribos Shoe, and the second person could use a blue shell (arguably not a power up.)
I was still in second place at that time.
So I ended up getting the blue shell.
I decided to wait until towards the end so I could try and maximize how I was going to do this.
There was this annoying section where we have to run through the mall in order to get to The welcome sigh.
I feel like I would waste too much time going over it so the best way to do it was going through.
Maybe I should have gone, through the top of the mall. Considering Mario fell through the skylight, it could have been a bit easier to lose him with a dive followed by tuck and roll technique.
After reaching the welcome sign, we had to travel through the sewers in order to get to San Bonito.
That's pretty annoying considering the ones in Agridulce aren't spacious.
After scrambling to San Bonito, we were in the final leg.
We dashed past the church, the laundromats and the former Garth memorial (there was this whole thing where people set up in an Ofrenda for me when I went missing).
Just before we made it to Jumpy's,I had pulled out my blue shell and decided to use it.
(the blue I'm talking about is a spiky one with wings, not the blue shell apparel).
I threw it.
Mario actually stops to tie his boot.
And before I could notice.
The shell hit me instead.
Mario Won.
Sigh.
I ordered some funnel cake while I was getting patched up. Since I didn't have my clutch, i sustained damage like a normal person.
Mario wanted to talk to me.
Mario: Hey. You did great out there. You really gave me for my money.
Garth: well you ended up keeping it. I know I should have done a spin jump at the highway overpass. The truck carrying Cacti was obvious.
Mario: Yeah maybe, I should have noticed and done that as well.
Garth: yeah maybe.
Mario: the race wasn't the point. The point of doing this was to get me used to Agridulce. And for you to show how far you've come.
Garth: Technically, I'm back where i started.
Mario: What I'm trying to say is that you've grown a lot. you're obviously getting better. I know one day you won't just meet my level (your platforming like I was when Bowser took over peach's castle and had me jump in those paintings for pizzas sake) but even surpass it.
Garth:... I think I feel a bit better. At least emotionally speaking, that shell hit hurt like Dickens.
I ate my funnel cake and decided to call it a day.
Now I'm going to go lay down with an ice pack on my back.
Garth signing off.

I tried to re-interpret/recreate some scenes from Yugioh DM: fan art series
Tumblr media
#2. Episode 175 - a pinch of cuteness won't hurt you
The second duel between Atem and Rafael is one of my favorite duels that have ever aired. I have so many things to say and have more pieces to draw about their exchange of dialogue. I'll get back to this story later.
This duel takes place between two of the most serious characters in the series. Absolutely no joking around-- except for a moment of cuteness overloading when Kuriboh Brothers cheerfully bounce around in the Seal of Orichalcos...😂😂 This scene gives a breather for the audience with a grin on their lips appreciating the cute furballs. I love it when renouned Yugioh animation directors, including Kenichi Hara who was responsible for this episode, add pleasant jokes like this at their discretion :))

I head canon Kaiba liking cheap supermarket vanilla ice cream because it’s the kind of ice cream his father used to bring home after work on Friday nights.
We had a discussion in the Dark Pride of Dimensions discord (an 18+ prideshipping server) about ice cream canons – those low stakes head canons that you absolutely swear by.
For me, other ice cream head canons include:
Kaiba refers to Mokuba as my vice president as a term of endearment.
Mokuba designed the construction hat BEWD icon.  Kaiba thinks it isn’t majestic enough for a BEWD but is proud of Mokuba for out-maneuvering him to have it declared one of the official mascots. Kaiba is secretly thrilled when it becomes one of their best-selling plushies.
Neither Kaiba brother has any idea what a bedtime is.  Mokuba just falls asleep wherever and Kaiba picks him up and carries him to bed.
Kaiba hates Swords of Revealing Lights because it makes him feel trapped and helpless.  He hates Kuriboh because every time he sees that shaggy hair it reminds him of Mokuba and he feels an impulse to protect it, then he feels manipulated which makes him want to blast it because something that weak deserves to be blasted (and yes, this is contradictory).
Kaiba loves baseball – it’s the most individualistic team sport in existence with a working definition of perfection.  Subsidiary baseball head canons: Kaiba bought his hometown team, the Domino Dragons, just so he could replace their too-cuddly mascot with a more ferociously appropriate dragon.
In some duel monsters alternative universe Kaiser Seahorse and Lord of Dragons are besties and competitive drinking buddies.
On an angsty note (because where would a list of ice cream canons be without some angst?) Kaiba sees Saggi the Dark Clown as a twisted reflection of himself as the weak, helpless creature he was under Gozaburo and he uses Saggi to carry his Crush Card as an unconscious metaphor for his designing weapons for Gozaburo's Kaiba Corporation.

As I get back into Yugioh while also watching one piece an idea won’t leave my mind.
What if after Bond Beyond Time, Yusei goes to take Jaden back to his time. They leave Yugi and head to drop Jaden off. But the Crimson Dragon doesn’t stop at Jaden’s time. Instead taking both of them to Yusei’s time.
Yusei feels awful. He was suppose to bring Jaden back to his time, but he messed up. He has no idea how the Crimson Dragon brought him back and forward in time other than it did. It called to him and he listened. He can’t do it on command. It’s not his fault but he feels like it is.
Jaden is a little freaked out. But weirder things have happened to him. So he reassures Yusei that it’s alright. Maybe he was brought here for a reason. Maybe once that reason is done he will be able to go home. He’ll figure it out.
And Yusei stops his over thinking dead in its tracks because, “what do you mean you’ll figure it out? We’re in this together. You’re not alone.” And Jaden, who is so deeply traumatized by the dark world and is still pushing everyone away, is a little overwhelmed.
His friends always leave it up to him to solve the problems. Jesse always helped, as did Jim and Axel, but for the most part Jaden is left to solve everything. Yusei barely knows him and is already offering so much. A place to stay, help getting home, it’s more than Jaden feels he deserves.
Especially when they meet up with the other Signers. Once Yusei introduces them all and explains what happened, they are all instantly on board with helping Jaden find away home. And it’s been a while since Jaden’s been surrounded with this much support.
So he stays with them for a while. After all he is there for a reason….
But he bonds with the Signers.
He helps Akiza with her powers. She already has a strong grasp on how to use them but being around Jaden makes her more comfortable using them. She’s always felt like a monster and being around the other Signers has helped a lot, but being around Jaden, who has such a good grasp on his powers that he can actually teach her things while also making her feel normal is awesome. The two become very close with Jaden taking on an older brother role for her. (At first he was ready for this to be like Cyrus and Hassleberry, but there isn’t the same level of hero worship. Yes Akiza looks up to him but she treats him as an equal. She really values her friends and being seen as normal so she doesn’t treat him like a savior and it’s really nice for Jaden. For both of them)
Luna and Jaden also have a close relationship as he is the first person she’s met who can see spirits as well. Wing Kuriboh and Kuribon are constantly playing. He’s able to teach her how to reach the spirit world safely and be more comfortable with her powers. She not only Aliza’s level of mastery but she has raw power and she’s very lucky Jaden came along when he did to help her master them.
Leo is much the same but also so different. Jaden is really confused when everyone is telling him about being Signers. He understand the idea, he can see the power. But he’s confused why everyone is acting like Leo doesn’t have powers, he can see the kids aura and it’s got the same crimson tint that every other signer has. But Leo is also bursting at the seems with power, he just can’t access it. And he tells them that. Leo is pumped. He’s a Signer to! Are you sure? This is awesome! Jaden is very clear that Leo’s powers are blocked but unblocking them at all at once could hurt the kid so they will have to do it carefully and slowly, with Jaden helping him master his new powers before they unseal anymore. It’s a slow process and exhausting for both. But Leo is pumped. Jaden is his third favorite person ever!! (1st being Luna, and 2nd going to Yusei)
Needless to say the twins adore him and look up to him as an older brother just like they do with the rest of the signers.
Crow and Jack respect him as a duelist and are glad he can help the others with their powers. Crow brings out Jaden’s goofier side as the two joke around. Jack reminds him so much of Zane and Chazz and yet at the same time he’s so different.
Jaden really admires Yusei, Jack, and Crow’s strong bond and brotherhood.
Jaden and Jack to but heads because of Carly. Jaden meets Carly and instantly recognizes her power and talent and tries to help her. At first she hesitates because she doesn’t like her powers. Plus this is Jack’s friend and Jack has been avoiding her and she just doesn’t know why. But slowly she starts coming around. Her and Jaden get along well and she starts helping out team 5D’s with the WRPG.
Jack though thinks that if Carly is around him she might remember her time as a Dark Signer and he doesn’t want that. He doesn’t want her to hurt. He also doesn’t want her in danger and the WRPG has become dangerous. He snaps at Jaden over it, as it’s easier to blame Jaden than talk to Carly about all this. Jaden doesn’t know about Carly being a Dark Signer and the two argue. He thinks Carly is a great addition to their team, and she deserves to learn how to control her powers, Jack just wants her safe.
Eventually Jack and Carly talk and he gets his head out of his butt. He and Jaden talk it out later.
Yusei and Jaden become best friends (you could see it as Starshipping if you want but I’ll probably keep it platonic) Yusei is a calm stable presence that Jaden has needed for a while. He’s a pillar of strength when everything seems to be going crazy. On the reverse Jaden is a sources of strength of Yusei. He’s so out of his depths with all the magic stuff that comes easy to Jaden. It’s nice to have an expert with them. All Yusei wants is to keep his friends safe, but he never has to worry about Jaden, he does anyway, but Jaden always comes through, he’s become a pillar for Yusei as well. Someone to lean on.
I’d probably change the villains of WRPG or maybe this takes place before the WRPG. Because I want Sayer/Divine and the Arcadia Movement to be the main problem. (I read that they were suppose to be the main villains of Yugioh 5D season 2 but because of Carly’s voice actors involvement with a real life cult the story line was scrapped and Carly’s role was reduced. I want to work with the cult so I’m working with the cult)
But anyway. Jaden is starting to feel at home here. He still needs to go back, rainbow dragon is burning in his deck box. He needs to return to his time, needs to return Jesse’s family to him (my spiritshipping heart) but he also loves his new friends.
And this is where one piece comes in because it’s time for Water 7/Enies Lobby.
Jaden is taking the twins out one day. Maybe they got out of school and they are waiting for the rest of the crew to show up. But the twins run an head and as Jaden goes to catch up, someone bumps into him and whispers in his ear. “Welcome Supreme King.”
Jaden freezes.
How could anyone here in this world, in this time, know that name. He turns on his heel and sees the stranger waiting for him. They have a cloak hood pulled over their head so he can’t see who this is. But they beckon him to follow, he’s not going to until they make a threatening gesture towards the twins, who’s excited voices are getting farther and farther from Jaden.
So Jaden follows. If they are going to have it out he doesn’t want the twins in the cross fire. But they’re not fighting. In fact Jaden is ambushed by Sayer/Divine who tells Jaden they know exactly who he is. That he’s going to help them with creating an army of Physic Duelist and help them attach the City. Jaden laughs and is ready to fight, until they threat his new friends. After all “you already murdered one friend group. Do you really want to be responsible for the death of another?”
The reminder of his friend’s deaths in the Dark World rattles Jaden. Enough that he’s willing to make a deal. He’ll help Sayer/Divine. As long as Team 5Ds is untouchable. Sayer/Divine can’t go after them.
It’s a deal.
So Jaden ‘Betrays’ Team 5Ds there are hurt feelings all around. “How could this happen? Why would Jaden betray them? It doesn’t make any sense.
So they start digging, and find out that Sayer/Divine is going to use Jaden’s power as a batter for his Physic duelist when they attack the city. But that still doesn’t explain why Jaden betrayed them.
Maybe Misty shows up and reveals Sayer/Divines plot
Maybe Carly figures it out. Maybe Sayer attacks her because ‘she’s not technically a member of 5Ds and Jaden protected her. She is present for their little back in forth argument. Because Jaden says she’s untouchable because of their deal and Sayer/Divine want to kill Carly because she knows to much now. But he has to fold because he want to keep Jaden under his thumb, so the solution was kidnap her but Jaden resist that to long enough for Jack to show up and get Carly out. (At this point he thinks Jaden is a traitor who is trying to hurt Carly so he attacks Jaden and Sayer/Divine.
Or maybe Jesse shows up in this time period. He went to the Spirit world looking for Jaden and Rainbow dragon and got dragged forward in time. He hears everything and explains Jaden’s history in the Dark world. While he wasn’t there to see it he got all the details from talking to the Gx crew and Jaden/Jaden’s spirits.
I think a combination of idea two and three are best. (I want Jesse to show up.)
Now that they know that Jaden has sacrificed himself to keep them safe, they won’t stop till he’s back safe with them. It’s a race to Jaden now. Can they get to him before Sayer/Divine’s plan is complete and he drains Jaden’s power/life.
Jaden deserves friends who would fight from him. Plus him get his own “I want to live.” Moment like Robin in Enies Lobby is very important to me.
Sorry if this sounds insane. It’s been bouncing around in my head for a week and needed out.

Jaden for the ask game?
MY DEAR DEAR FRIEND JADEN YUKI
Why I like them/why I don’t: he's such a good character, man 😭 like what an introduction to the ygo spinoff grand lineup of characters. he's funny and charming and nuanced and so infectiously charismatic both in and out of universe i just have to love him. people tend to completely ignore his character growth in season 4 to keep him Sad Sad Turbo Depressed Forever which is such a shame, jay having to be reminded to not lose his sense of fun and passion for what he loves, something that's been so crucial to him for like half the series, is one of my favorite parts about him! he's just a fun character to watch and root for, truly one of the best yutags imho
What I like about their appearance: I love that in the grand roster of insane yugioh hair jaden rolls up and he's just. brunette. double brunette. it's delightful. kuriboh-head.
Do I prefer their dub names or original names? i have endless respect for judai as a name but he is forever going to first and foremost be jaden to me im afraid. i look at him and im just like "goddamn that is the Guy Named Jaden" ever. his impact on tboys named jaden.... unmatche
OTP: said it when i talked about aster but heroshipping numero uno <3 sooo so dear to me. i like chazz/jaden a lot too but i need there to be some catastrophe and divorce in there.
NOTP: talked already about how im not huge on the romantic jaden/yubel read, but im also not very big on jaden/syrus.... i know sometimes "uhm these characters are sibling coded" can be a bit of an asspull but this time thats like. The Text. they came like that. there is a very deliberate parallel between zane and jaden and how syrus looks up to them (and gets hurt by them.) jaden: "syrus needs his big brother" zane, dying: "he's got one" DUB LINES OF ALL TIME FOR ME. sy has two big brothers and it rules. anyway
OT3: i like the potential of jaden/chazz/jesse, i think that's a fun one.
Favourite card they use: Flame Wingman is just so fucking cool I love its tail and its color palette and its Very Genderful Implications. Also a big fan of Neo Spacian Dark Panther...all of the neo spacians are hysterical i love them
Favourite moment they were in: I FORGOT TO ANSWER THIS ONE FOR SOME REASON?!?!? god. he has a lot of great moments but my fav is the season 1 finale when duels zane. it's just such a good duel
Least favourite moment: guhhhh i have a lot of issues with the way jaden is handled in season 3 so i wont go off too much but im just not a terribly big fan of some of the elements of his personality that kind of got rather haphazardly sacrificed to make A Lot of Of All That function in the narrative (and kind of not spectacularly well.) ho hum.
Something I associate with them: Eevees, fat orange cats, and this genre of post

What if for the prompt kaijou with 45 or 40? Dealers choice. Maybe for 40 kaiba dresses up as kaibaman for mokuba or xyz reason & he’s really nice to jou through the anonymity of his costume? 🤔
From Put That Guy in a Situation(TM) Ask Game
Read the previous prompt fill for 45 here
40. Identity reveal/major secret revealed
---
One day, Seto would wring Pegasus's lily white neck. Not today, but someday. And soon.
Tribute, his ass. There was no reason for Pegasus to make such a card other than to make him a laughingstock. He even named it after Kaiba.
Kaibaman.
What a ridiculous "monster" design. From the helmet to the flowing brown locks to the mockery of his trademark coat. Kaiba didn't even wear that coat anymore. He constantly reinvented his look to keep his image from going stale. Yet that was still the one most people remembered and would remember, thanks to Pegasus memorializing it in card form.
Mokuba loved it, though. And as much as Kaiba loved his little brother, he sometimes despaired over his lack of taste. Being fourteen only excused him up to a certain point.
It was also because of his love for his brother that he suffered his current indignity—traipsing around his amusement park dressed as one of his least favorite monsters, Kuriboh included.
For KaibaLand's third anniversary, the company had organized a slew of events in the week leading up to the event, including special shows, limited edition merchandise sold only on park grounds, and a mini tournament. All in the name of drumming up attendance. And it worked like a charm.
Tickets sold out weeks in advance. Day after day, they hit the attendance limit. Security caught their fair share of stragglers trying to sneak in through the side entrances. Products flew off the gift store shelves. They could barely keep them stocked day-to-day.
But it was difficult to bask in the resounding success in his current state. Between the helmet and the meter-long wig, Kaiba perspired as he'd never before in his life. The costume's state-of-the-art fabric could only wick so much sweat. In addition to impeding his peripheral vision, the helmet roasted him. But if he removed it for even a nanosecond, he'd be besieged.
That was because of another of Mokuba's bright ideas—a scavenger hunt. He insisted that guests who weren't Duelists (and Kaiba scarcely believed such people could exist) should have a chance to win prizes, too. Thus, the boy had put together an elaborate list of two hundred items, each worth various amounts of points. At the top, with the possibility of netting the player with almost fifty points, was a photo with Kaiba taken on the day of the anniversary.
But Mokuba was as devious as he was clever. Simply because Kaiba had to be out and about for the game to be fair, it didn't mean Mokuba had to make it easy for them.
Hence, the costume. Literally having him hide in plain sight.
Countless guests had approached him for pictures thus far, but he doubted a single one of them would submit it as part of the scavenger hunt. To them, he was one of the park's many character actors.
It was the perfect disguise for surveying the park in relative peace. Kaibaman the Duel Monsters drew less attention from the crowds than Kaiba Seto. So he could go wherever he pleased without being mobbed.
But he was reaching his limit. He needed to find somewhere secluded and shaded to cool off before heat exhaustion claimed him. That wouldn't be easy, given how crowded it was.
He found one eventually. An oasis of calm among the hustle and bustle. Or it could've been if there weren't already people there—a couple plainly in the middle of a quarrel. That alone should've sent Kaiba speedwalking in the opposite direction.
Except he knew the couple.
Well, he knew one of them. Jounouchi Katsuya remained a bit of a thorn in his side to this day. The boyfriend, though? Kaiba wouldn't have known if he wasn't dating Jounouchi. At least Jounouchi regularly made it to the podium in Duel Monsters tournaments. What's-his-name barely broke the top ten in rankings.
Kaiba hated to say it, but Jounouchi could do better than that loser.
"C'mon, babe, you're blowing this out of proportion," What's-His-Name wheedled as he clung to Jounouchi's elbow.
"Leggo. Don't you 'babe' me. I know what I saw," snarled Jounouchi with clenched fists.
Kaiba wondered if Jounouchi might hit the other man.
What's-His-Name didn't know when to cut his losses, though. "She was hitting on me! I swear!"
"You had your hand in her back pocket."
The loser broke into a cold sweat. Perhaps he didn't expect Jounouchi to be so blunt about the matter, especially in public. Just goes to show how little he understood Jounouchi, then. He switched tactics, instead. "You can't blame me. I mean, you saw how smoking hot she was. Tell me you wouldn't cop a feel if she offered. You swing both ways too."
Without warning, Jounouchi lurched forward, putting him intimately face-to-face with the man. Their roles reversed in a flash; What's-His-Name tried to jerk back, but Jounouchi had captured his wrists.
Jounouchi's gaze was equally steely as he spoke. "No, because being bi doesn't mean being a lying cheat. That's all on you."
To say What's-His-Name was shaken was an understatement. He looked ready to shit himself.
"I'm sorry. It'll never happen again. Gimme another chance, Katsuya—"
Something inside Kaiba recoiled upon hearing Jounouchi's given name. Was he that serious with the loser?
Jounouchi dropped his wrists. "No. We're done. Lose my number."
What's-His-Name really had no self-respect. Or brains. He reached for Jounouchi again despite everything about Jounouchi's body language screamed "DO NOT TOUCH." Kaiba could see it already. The inevitable right hook, the blood, and the screeching, then the many headaches that ensued after a public altercation.
He cleared his throat, and the two other men froze. Slowly, their heads turned, and they both gawked at Kaiba. At his costume.
Fighting the embarrassment brewing under his collar, he pitched his voice lower when he said, "That's enough. He's made his position clear."
Suddenly, Kaiba was immensely grateful for his helmet. It would hide a multitude of sins.
What's-His-Name's gaze flitted back and forth between Jounouchi and Kaiba. Perhaps he had been willing to grovel like a worm, just not in the presence of a third party.
"I'll call you later," he muttered before fleeing the scene.
"Don't bother. I'm blocking ya," Jounouchi called after him. Then, straightening to his full height, which was still shorter than Kaiba, he jutted out his chin and said, "Thanks, but I had that handled."
"I know," Kaiba replied. "It wasn't for your sake. I was saving the idiot from the broken nose he was talking himself into."
He hadn't intervened out of the goodness of his heart. No, the only media circus worse than the one where Jounouchi went public dating another man would be a knock-down, drag-out breakup fight of the same relationship on KaibaLand property. That was something Kaiba wanted to avert at all costs.
Jounouchi blinked. Once. Twice. He threw his head back and laughed, wrapping his arms around his waist while his entire body heaved from it. It was Kaiba's turn to stare. Maybe the breakup hit Jounouchi harder than expected. He was laughing like a loon, with tears now streaming down his cheeks.
Should Kaiba say something?
Should he leave him alone?
To his relief, both the laughter and the tears soon subsided. Jounouchi slumped and perched himself on a low garden wall. While wiping the moisture from his eyes, he patted the empty spot next to him. For a long awkward second, Kaiba debated the wisdom of taking such an invitation. In the end, the shade convinced him and he took a seat, back ramrod straight, beside Jounouchi.
Jounouchi kicked his legs forward, scuffing the sole of his sneakers against the concrete. "Betcha wondering why I was with that bozo."
Kaiba nodded before he could stop himself.
"I mean, it wasn't all bad. We had a lotta fun in the beginning. We saw each other almost every day. Went out together all the time."
Kaiba was aware. For weeks without end, new photos of Jounouchi and his beau surfaced daily in the tabloids and gossip sites.
Jounouchi continued, "Sometimes it felt like he was showing me off. Which was probably the first warning sign now that I think about it. We were out in public all the time, but we barely spent any time where it was just the two of us except for— Never mind, you don't need to know that part."
Heat gathered under Kaiba's tall collar. He silently thanked Jounouchi for his rare discretion.
"But at the time? I gotta admit. It was nice. It felt good to be wanted like that."
Jounouchi finally looked his way. The helmet's limited field of vision ensured he couldn't see much of anything other than Jounouchi's resigned expression. Not unless he turned his head away. That seemed rude even to Kaiba's limited social graces.
Kaiba cleared his throat. "It doesn't give him the right to treat you like that, especially after you came out for him."
"What? Nah! Please! That was the press blowing shit out of proportion. I've been telling 'em I ain't straight forever. They just didn't believe me until they saw me with a man with their own damn eyes. Dunno if they thought it was a publicity stunt or something, but it's not like I was hiding it." Jounouchi rolled his eyes, then shook his head. "It's so hard to find guys to date."
Kaiba caught himself before he nodded.
"I mean, don't get me wrong, this sucks. Breaking up sucks. But I ain't heartbroken about it. I just wish it hadn't turned out like this. I know it sounds insane, but shit like this makes me feel like I'll never be good enough." Jounouchi slumped forward to assume a rather defeated posture. His bangs fell over his eyes, obscuring them. He didn't move for several moments, leading Kaiba to wonder if he was crying for real despite his insistence he wasn't heartbroken. A deep sigh heaved out of the man. "Anyway, sorry for dumping all that on you, man—"
Kaiba cut him off. "You'll find someone better."
Jounouchi shot up. He gawked at Kaiba with wide eyes. "Ya think?"
"He was beneath you. His best tournament ranking was thirteen." Disdain seeped into Kaiba's tone. "And that's when he breaks the top twenty."
Jounouchi's shoulders shook as he bit his bottom lip. It took him a beat to recompose himself. "God, of course, that's the part you're most outraged about."
Was Kaiba supposed to be offended? Jounouchi made it sound like he was the ridiculous one here. He left it alone, though. Jounouchi was laughing again. It was a vast improvement over the gloom that previously wreathed him.
"Well, I actually feel tons better now." Jounouchi flashed a lopsided grin. The idiot always looked better with a smile, no matter how vapid. "So thanks for that, Kaiba."
He stiffened. Not Kaibaman. Just Kaiba. "Excuse me?"
Jounouchi tipped the helmet back to unveil Kaiba's stunned face. "Your Christian Bale Batman impression could use some work."
Heat engulfed Kaiba from head to toe. The glaring afternoon sun may not be to blame. He groped for something to say. Anything. But Jounouchi caught him red-handed. What could he possibly say to justify himself?
Jounouchi let go. The helmet slipped back into place, obscuring the top half of Kaiba's face once more. Through the lenses, Kaiba watched him intently as the man stood and stretched, extending both arms to the sky.
"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone"—Jounouchi glanced back and winked—"it's you in the costume."

Tada! Background may not be the best, but fudge it we ball
First of all: Aww.
Second of all: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! MY BOY! RYOKEN'S BABY! MY BABY! OUR BABY! HE IS SO CUTE! THE BABY OF ALL TIME! OH MY FREAKING GOODNESS HE IS SO ADORABLE!
He is the cousin of the Kuriboh family because he doesn't have all of that fur or wings, but still they love him. He is so cute. I want to pet him. Ryoken can steal your son for a moment?
The idea of this monster going around Ryoken while he is trying to make an important speech is so cute and hilarious. Have you seen a video of a cat or dog interrupting a very important online meeting? That is his energy up to 11. He needs to be petted to survive. He can only survive for 2 minutes without getting a pat. Ryoken can not even be mad at him because that is his son. Technically his brother
Thunder, I love this so much. He is so cute, oh my freaking gosh.

Just Saw the Yugi vs Grandpa Duel
So now we know what Dan and Wayne recorded a little more than a month ago! My thoughts on the duel as one who doesn't really know how to play the card game itself:
Solomon's Millennium cards were a pretty cool theme for his deck
BRO USING AN EXODIA FORM AGAINST HIS GRANDSON- (Kaiba was probably laughing wherever he was during this)
The reminiscing AUGHH 😭
The Yugi internal thought moments with Dan just standing there silent made me laugh a little bit.
Yugi and his goddamn Kuriboh wall got me, just the script duelist spreading a whole deck-worth of cute fluffballs out on the mat sent me.
The callbacks to the series in this duel-
Yugi dueling on his own yet showing a little of Atem's cockiness made me weep. Little baby boy's grown up and his brother would be proud.
The Kuribohs being swept away made me sad. Poor fluffies :(
HEART OF THE CARDS, HEART OF THE CARDS-
Gandora!!! :D
The effects and their activation methods are so confusing to me.
Grandpa's optimism is so sweet.
YUGI GOT EXODIA'D (Kaiba HAS to be wearing a shit-eating grin right now. Although knowing Kaiba he'd just be mad it wasn't him to beat Yugi.)
Aww, he gave his grandson a new Dark Magician before he left :3

Kuriboo
I know the point of the Kuriboh brothers was to use all five vowels for Kuriboh monsters, but they made a really great design choice for the U representative, Kuriboo. I think it's pretty obvious, but it's the white coloration of his fur. He's a little ghost looking guy with "boo" built right into his name! Perfection. I'd also like to say I love the background for this guy; I have no idea what's happening with the shapes in it, but it matches really well with Kuriboo himself.
Rating: 10/10

The start screen for Duel Monsters Racing loads. Seto selects "Start" and then on the next screen he selects the option for a group race.
"Hey!" Seto exclaims, but you're focused on selecting your vehicle as quickly as possible. You confirm the Blue Eyes White Dragon as your car and turn to the Kaiba brothers with a smirk. Mokuba selects his own car and tosses a controller back into Seto's lab.
"You're both cheaters," Kaiba says.
"We got to the cars first. Don't be a baby." Mokuba holds up his hand, and you give him a high-five.
Kaiba looks over at you and his eyes lower to your controller. You move it behind your body. "You can't be the Blue Eyes every single time!" Then you smirk. "Kuriboh is still available."
