I was today years old when I found out that Diderot from ‘La gabbianella e il gatto’ (Lucky and Zorba) has the same voice actor as Schmendrick in the Italian dub of TLU.

There are two songs from the italian animated movie "Lucky and Zorba" (La gabbianella e il gatto) that always, ALWAYS make me cry. While the final song, "I can fly" (so volare) does get a stronger reaction from me, I always founf Kengah's song in the beginning the most heartwrenching. The dreams of a dying mother who regrets not being able to see her child grow up, and having to trust a stranger to be able and raise it.

apparently google says its called "lucky and zorba" in english but i know it as "la gabbianella e il gatto", aka "the little seagull and the cat", and it's about a group of cats adopting a baby seagull after her dying mother made them promise they'd make her learn to fly. the little seagull however grows up thinking she's a cat too.

it's very sweet and makes me cry a lot. try to find a way to watch it

Pallino ♡ He's a character of the italian animated movie "La gabbianella e il gatto" (inspired by Sepúlveda's novel), a classic from my childhood! I remember it was pretty popular during my elementary school era, I used to love it... it's a very sweet and moving movie!

I'm glad you liked them! I had fun, in spite of so many illustrations in such a short time, and I'm happy it shows. :)

Adopting Fluffy? That is something Aisling would do, yes. Will look for other harpies so she can live the life she was meant to, of course, but in the meanwhile she'll do her damn best to give her the best life she can and lots of love.

It'll be a set of trials and errors, particularly at first: she loves animal but never took care of any bird beside leaving scraps of food for them to eat. And of course she has no idea how to teach her to fly, but she and Dorian will get to work to find a way to ease her in, and soon enough the project will spread and involve everyone in Skyhold (hiding morsels of food so she learns how to hunt, giving her treats... She will be a very spoiled harpy.)

Flying will be a grand experiment involving a proportioned rollercoaster, five force spells for a very controlled whirlwind ("Come on Solas the doors and windows are closed your notes are safe to fly around. But Fluffy is floating, look! :D" *Solas is too tired to disapprove*), and a bunjee jumping station. They will manage. Not in the way everyone would think they will and most likely there was a quicker way, like letting nature do its job. But it would have been half the fun, wouldn't it?

If she'll choose to go back and live with the other harpies, Fluffy will be ready to do so. Will she be considered a weird harpy by all the others? No doubt, but she can hunt and fly and find water. It's good enough even if she complains that no one is giving her cake. And even if she doesn't fetch, but dodges.

(this was so cute a scenario! Thank you for suggesting it. :D Also now I'm remembering that movie and book and crying. It's a good cry tho, I do love Sepúlveda.)

Silvano Mezzatesta is an animator who has worked on such titles as Lupo Albert, Cocco Bill, Monster Allergy, La freccia azzurra, Lucky and Zorba (La gabbianella e il gatto), Aida of the Trees, Opopomoz, and even a few things at Rainbow.

"…the origin of the Winx is a clerical one…. […] the character designer was so convinced of the validity of his designs that they annoyed the entire Marche region and found, thanks in part to Iginio Straffi, the support of the curia, obtained funding, and made the characters expendable in merchandising. The Winx are what they are because of the Loreto curia, although they eventually disassociated themselves because of the clothing. The Winx were to be exploited to do sunday school catechism and things like that."

Straffi accepted but turned it into a school, wanted to include things like a pink bunny (which would relate back to Winx), cinepanettone jokes (translator's note: cinepanettoni are terrible christmas comedy movies in Italy aimed at boomers)"

-apparently the prop and environment studies for that film were very serious and professional, the animation team was not experienced so Mezzatesta and his team jumped through hoops to make the storyboards as complete as possible to make things easy for the animators-

"…in the end Straffi put his own spin on it, inserting things like Timo's horse farting, and the U.S. network that had financed the project demanded that specific elements be added for their market, like these three brats inserted as comic relief characters.
