In Breakable Heaven CH1
It's @ladrienjune yall!
And I know what you're all thinking
Tumblr media
But I finally wrote something! One chapter of a thing. For now, but more will be coming, I promise! As I mentioned previously, I am moving for the next couple weeks, but I will hopefully have some down time to write here and there. I also still need to plan the ending for this fic, but shhhhh that's future Cat's problem ;) Anywho, here's the beginning of a Ladrien secret-dating adventure. Enjoy~
This chapter covers days 6, 7, and 8 (social media, jealousy, and biggest fan respectively).
Read on AO3
Rating: G
Summary:
When Adrien wins a contest on the Ladyblog, he catches the attention of Ladybug herself and scores more than just an opportunity to hang out with her. Caught in a fever dream high, the two lovebirds try to navigate their budding relationship away from the public eye and find that keeping secrets is a lot harder than they anticipated. Devils roll the dice, angels roll their eyes, what doesn't kill them makes them want each other more, and they'll do whatever it takes to stay in breakable heaven.
Chapter 1
“You Play Stupid Games, You Win Stupid Prizes”
“Alright, Bugheads, now onto the big announcement! With summer holidays coming up, I thought it would be a fun time to host a little contest, and ask the question: How well you know our resident superheroine? I’ve created a quiz that only the most die-hard fans will be able to pass because the stakes on this one are high. The person with the highest score will get to spend an afternoon with Ladybug! And don’t worry, this was approved by the head bug herself! Details for entry are listed below. Best of luck to all of you, and don’t forget to stay connected!”  Alya’s cheery lilt ended on Adrien’s computer screen, and he leaned back in his chair.
“A whole afternoon with Ladybug?” He swooned.
“What’s the big deal? You already spend every afternoon with her.” Plagg hovered over Adrien’s head with a wedge of cheese.
“Yeah, when we’re fighting bad guys,” Adrien said pointedly. “She never wants to spend time with me outside of work. This could be my chance to finally see a movie with her.”
“What’s the appeal of seeing a movie anyway? You just sit next to each other in silence for several hours. The only plus is the buttery popcorn with its salty, crunchy, oily goodness...” Plagg shoved the cheese into his mouth and chewed thoughtfully for a moment. “On second thought, why don’t you and I go see a movie? I’m much better company.”
Adrien rolled his eyes and clicked the leaderboard in the comments of Alya’s post. Someone had already gotten a decently high score on the quiz, only a few points away from perfect. A few scrolls down, the same username popped up again, and Adrien’s grip tightened on his mouse.
ladybugsfuturebf: Good luck beating my score! Only Ladybug herself could score higher. Can’t wait to spend one-on-one time with her on our date!
“Who does this guy think he is? A date? Ladybug’s future boyfriend? Before me?” Adrien scoffed.
“Need I remind you, the contest is to win a chance to hang out with her, not date her,” Plagg said.
What kind of flowers do you think she likes? Oh, wait! I already answered that on the quiz! She’s gonna be so impressed she’ll forget all about Chat Noir.
Adrien’s teeth ground together. There was no way such a boastful, arrogant person was in the lead. And forget about him? Please, he was Ladybug’s best friend! No one knew her better than him. He could ace that quiz in no time.
“What are you doing?” Plagg sighed as Adrien clicked the entry form.
“Oh, come on, Plagg. I can’t let that guy win! If anyone is going to win a date with Ladybug, it’s me! I know her better than anyone,” Adrien said.
Plagg floated down in front of his face. “And you don’t think it’s going to be a problem if you get a perfect score? Let’s just broadcast to the world that you’re Chat Noir!”
“I’m not that dense, Plagg.” Adrien waved him out of the way. “I’ll sign up with a fake email and username. No one will ever know Adrien Agreste won.”
Pursing his lips, he tapped the keys of his keyboard in thought on the account creation screen. He needed something inconspicuous, but not too mysterious. Something that wouldn’t be surprising when Chat Noir revealed himself as the winner, but also, not something that would be a dead giveaway that it was him. He didn’t want Ladybug to disqualify him for cheating. Besides, he wasn’t really cheating. There were no rules that her best friend and partner couldn’t enter…
He’d keep it simple but on brand — thecatsmeow had a nice ring to it, and it was surprisingly not taken. Now that his account was squared away, he just had to pass the quiz. 40 questions? Piece of cake.
What is Ladybug’s favorite color? Easy, pink.
Favorite musical artist? Jagged Stone.
Eye color?
It was almost sad how easy the questions were, and before he knew it, he’d finished. Adrien sat back as the site tabulated his score, and Plagg came to a rest on the top of his chair. A perfect score flashed on the screen, and Adrien shot up with a whoop.
“Yes! Take that ladybugsfuturebf!” he cheered.
“Don’t you think Ladybug is going to be mad when she finds out you won?” Plagg asked.
“Oh, come on. If anything, this just proves how much I pay attention. She’ll be impressed that I know her so well,” he said. At Plagg’s skeptical expression, Adrien sat back down. “And she’s not going to have a choice because I won fair and square.”
“You’re delusional.” Plagg floated off.
Adrien shrugged it off, smiling at his username at the top of the leaderboard. He was finally going to get that movie date with Ladybug! Nothing was going to sour his mood.
***
The next day, Adrien arrived at school as usual, shutting the door to his silver town car without a second thought. After winning the date with Ladybug, he was on cloud nine, imaging how romantic it would be in the dark theater. Maybe he’d pick a horror movie and hold her when she got scared. Oh! And their hands could brush as they both reached for popcorn at the same time! Entering the contest was the best idea he’d ever had.
“There’s no way it’s not him. Chat Noir totally won the contest,” Alya said as he entered the classroom.
Adrien stopped in his tracks. Okay, maybe not his best idea, but it was fine because he used a fake account. There was no way they traced it back to him.
None of them paid him any mind as he took his seat beside Nino, who was tapping his chin in thought.
“But why would Chat Noir need to enter a contest to spend time with Ladybug. He spends like the most time with her out of everyone,” Nino said.
“It’s so obvious. He’s been trying to get her to go to the movies with him for like ever, and now she has to say yes,” Alya said.
“Shouldn’t that be against the rules or something?” Marinette asked. “I mean, they spend so much time together, of course he’d know all the answers.”
“I’m willing to allow it because I think it’s really funny, and I don’t mind being Chat Noir’s wing woman.” She shrugged.
“Alya!” Marinette gasped.
“What? I want them to get together. Sue me.” Alya giggled.
“Hey, didn’t all the contestants have to have valid accounts to enter? What’s the name on the email address for the username that won?” Nino asked.
Adrien stiffened.
“Way ahead of you,” Alya said. “I looked right after the results posted, but the email is registered to an obvious alias, which further proves that it’s Chat Noir. He wouldn’t use his real name. He may not always look it, but he’s a smart cat.”
He wasn’t sure if he should be offended by that statement or not.
“Dang, would have been cool if we learned who he was,” Nino said.
Adrien breathed a sigh of relief when they let it drop. Everything was fine, and Alya wasn’t going to disqualify him. He could already taste the popcorn!
“Ya know,” it was Max who spoke up, having stopped midway up the stairs to his desk upon overhearing their conversation, “if you’re interested in knowing who the account really belongs to, I can track the IP address.”
Adrien’s heart shot up to his throat.
“Wait, for real?” Alya perked up.
“That would be totally awesome!” Nino added.
Maybe it would be fine. His father paid for crazy firewalls to protect his design secrets. No way anyone could get through them… Right?
“I recently upgraded Markov’s tracking capacity. I can crack a low-grade military firewall and find an address with pin-point accuracy,” Max said.
Most of the time, Adrien was amazed at Max’s genius, but today he was terrified of it. Plagg was right, entering the quiz was a surefire way to get him caught!
“Guys, that’s an invasion of privacy! Besides, don’t you think it will be dangerous if it is Chat Noir? I mean, exposing his identity will lead Hawkmoth right to his door. You’re practically handing him his Miraculous,” Marinette, his sweet pig-tailed savior, said.
Adrien cleared his throat and turned around, “Yeah, Marinette’s right. I think it will cause more trouble than it’s worth.” For him specifically.
“Chill out, I’m not going to post it online or anything. I just think if we knew who he was we could help him. I can be the girl on the ground, and I can also give him tips to fix his pitiful attempts at flirting with Ladybug,” Alya said.
Pitiful! Oh, she was definitely getting snubbed next time she asked for an interview.
“Alya, it’s dangerous and wrong. Even if he entered the contest for selfish reasons, that doesn’t mean you can invade his privacy like that.” Marinette chided. “Promise me you won’t look into it. It would put all of you and him in danger.”
Alya pursed her lips, exchanging glances with Max and Nino before slumping in her seat.
“Fine, I won’t look into it,” she said.
“Good,” Marinette said as Mlle. Bustier entered and called for everyone to find their seats.
Adrien turned back around, breathing out a ragged sigh. That was close, but it had all worked out in the end. He’d have to stop by the bakery later and buy a caseload of chouquettes to thank Marinette. Her level-head really saved his hide.
As the day wore on, Adrien pushed the morning’s conversation from his mind, though he had a feeling Plagg would give him an earful about it later. It would all be worth it when he and Ladybug finally went on their date. Could he get cherry blossoms this time of year? They were just barely out of season, but he could probably pull a few strings.
He pulled out his phone to check as he entered the library, and he’d almost found a promising listing when he rounded the corner and found Alya and Max crowded around a laptop at a table. Ducking back behind the bookshelf, he strained his ears to listen.
“His firewall is surprisingly good, it may take me a while to crack,” Max was saying.
“But you can definitely get around it?” Alya asked.
“Of course, what do you take me for?” Max scoffed.
They were going through with it after all! Adrien’s heart sped up, his palms growing shaky and sweaty. He should go over to their table and call them out for going back on their word, but would it be suspicious if he got onto them? Why would he be so bent on keeping Chat Noir’s identity secret unless he was Chat Noir? This was bad! What should he do?
Adrien bolted from the library, peering out over the railing at the courtyard below. Marinette was sketching quietly on a bench, and he raced to her side. She looked up at him with wide eyes, recoiling back with a nervous smile, probably in response to how desperate and deranged he looked, but there was no time to worry about that.
“Marinette, we have to stop Alya and Max. They’re in the library trying to crack Chat Noir’s firewall right now!” He panted.
“What?” She abandoned her sketchbook on the bench and took the lead back up the stairs to the library.
She burst through the doors and stormed over to their table, and Adrien did his best to look supportive but not too panicked. Alya winced when she saw them, and Marinette placed her hands on her hips.
“So, you were just going to go behind my back and do it anyways?” She scoffed.
“I’m sorry, girl! But think of how much good we could do if we could team up and help him!” Alya said.
“Think of how much danger you’re putting yourselves in! If Hawkmoth finds out you know his identity, he’ll come after you and your families. What if one of you gets akumatized? You could get hurt. Chat Noir could get hurt or worse!” Marinette said.
“She’s right. You guys shouldn’t go through with this,” Adrien added.
“I’m almost through the firewall,” Max said.
“Call it off, Max!” Marinette ordered.
“Keep going! We’re so close!” Alya pleaded. She turned to Marinette and pressed her palms together. “Look, I know it’s risky, but what if we can help take down Hawkmoth? That’s worth the risk, right?”
“It’s not our job! We don’t have superpowers, and it can put us and the people we love in danger!” Marinette placed her hands on Alya’s shoulders. “Please, stop.”
“Girl, I know you’re scared for me, but I promise I’ll be careful. ‘All that’s necessary for the triumph of evil-”
“That doesn’t apply here!” Marinette shook her head.
“I made it through the firewall!” Max said. “A few more seconds, and I can tell you exactly where he lives.”
Marinette and Alya were at a stand-off, and every clack of Max’s keyboard was a nail in Adrien’s coffin. He didn’t have a choice, but if they were going to find out it was him, he was going to do whatever it took to convince them he wasn’t Chat Noir. He just hoped Ladybug didn’t think he was a total freak afterward.
“It’s me!” He blurted. When Marinette and Alya turned to him with quirked brows, he let out a sigh. “I’m the one who won the contest. I’m thecatsmeow.”
Max’s keyboard went silent, and he turned the screen to face them where Adrien’s home address was flashing. “He’s telling the truth.”
“Whoa, so you’re Chat Noir?” Alya grinned.
“No!” Adrien held up cautioning hands. “I’m just, uhh, I didn’t want my father to know I entered, so I used a fake profile. There’s no way he would have let me go if he knew about it.”
“Why didn’t you say anything sooner?” Marinette asked.
Adrien rubbed the back of his neck and averted his gaze. “I guess I was just embarrassed. I didn’t want any of you to think less of me.”
“I don’t think less of you!” Marinette assured him. “I-I mean, you won the contest fair and square, and you had every right to enter.”
Alya’s eyes narrowed, and Adrien shrank under her gaze.
“I’m still not entirely convinced. Ladybug and I made some of those questions crazy specific. How would you know she doesn’t like anchovies on her pizza, or that she likes lemon in her tea?” Alya crossed her arms over her chest.
“I… have a lot of money and free time.” He shrugged. “I got a bunch of drone cameras and spy equipment, and I watch her and Chat Noir all the time.” When everyone stared at him with wide eyes, he quickly added, “Not in a creepy way! I just admire her.”
“…You don’t know her identity, do you?” Marinette asked.
“No, of course not! I’d never do something like that.” Adrien shook his head. “I’m just…her biggest fan.”
Alya looked him up and down, her skeptical expression giving way to a smile. “You could have just said something. I mean, you know how freak-crazy I am about all of this. I would have understood.”
“I’m sorry. I’m just used to keeping a lot of my interests a secret because I have my father’s brand to consider — and my father to consider. If he knew what I was doing, he’d put an end to it immediately.” Adrien traced his thumb over his ring behind his back.
“Well, you don’t have to worry about us. Your secret’s safe.” Alya placed a hand on his shoulder with a wink. “Though, I may need to borrow your drone from time to time as payment.”
“Alya,” Marinette said in a warning tone.
“We’ll discuss the details later,” she said. “And if you ever want to talk Ladybug, I’m always here.”
“Thanks.” He smiled, letting his shoulders relax.
“Though, I am still a bit confused on your logic. I mean, you won the contest, so you were going to have to reveal it was you eventually to claim your prize. What was your plan there?” Alya quirked a brow.
“Uhh, wear a disguise?” Adrien said with a wince.
Alya threw her head back with a laugh. “Well, congrats on winning. I’ll pass the message on to Ladybug that you’re the winner, and we’ll arrange your prize soon.”
“Thanks,” Adrien said.
When the bell rang, Alya and Max packed up, and Adrien breathed a sigh of relief as they headed to their next class. That was way too close, but somehow, he’d managed to convince them. Plagg was going to scold him later.
Marinette fell into step beside him, tugging at her blazer.
“Um, congrats on winning,” she said. “I-I think it’s a good thing you won instead of some weirdo. I mean, if I was Ladybug, I’d be happy you won because it means we’d get to spend time together, and who wouldn’t want to spend time with you?”
Adrien smiled at her. “Thanks. I’m looking forward to hanging out with her. I admire her a lot,” he said. “And thanks for your help earlier.”
“N-n- Mmmhmm.” Marinette nodded.
She fell back to link up with Alya, and Adrien bit back a smile. It wasn’t exactly what he’d planned, but he still got to spend time with Ladybug either way. And who knew? Maybe there would be advantages to her going with Adrien Agreste instead of Chat Noir. At least this way, she couldn’t scold him. Besides, it didn’t matter to him which side she fell in love with, so long as it was him. He couldn’t wait for their date!

a concept: ladrien but its with the same dynamics that everyone likes to use for marichat
adrien is practicing his piano piece and ladybug just fell off the rock climbing wall.
adrien is doing his chinese homework and ladybug is playing videogames on his TV.
Everytime she wins a game online she gets a forehead kiss. (also she wears a headset and cue "why does ur voice sound so familiar" "im ladybug" "liar")
Adrien comes home from a long photo shoot at night and hes exhausted, Ladybug shows up out of the blue to hang out with snacks (because she knows) and they end up cuddling and she accidentally stays over who knows-
(and yes they're in soft pining mode and they hang out all the time)

Hawkmoth Defeated
Welcome back to another chapter of Ladrien June :). I hope you guys like it! Also, did you guys see the spoilers todayyyy!! I’m sooo excited for s5 hehhe!
AO3
Adrien collapsed into her arms bonelessly. Ladybug’s eyes widened as she caught him, whispering as many assurances in his ear as she could. She had taken him outside of the mansion, not wanting him to see the hidden chamber the police were currently searching or his father. Slowly, she rubbed his back, hoping that she’d be able to provide some comfort.
They had won. Or, it should have felt like they won. But, right now, winning was the furthest thing from her mind. In defeating Hawkmoth, they had revealed an ugly truth. All this time it had been Gabriel Agreste. Her partner’s father.
That was another thing Ladybug was still having trouble wrapping her head around. Adrien Agreste had been her partner this whole time. He had detransformed after Gabriel’s reveal, begging his father to tell him why.
She couldn’t stop the small shudder from hitting her body. She couldn’t even begin to imagine what he must be feeling. Knowing that it was his father all this time.
Clenching her eyes shut, Ladybug tightened her grip around him. Desperately, she wished that she could fix this. That she could make everything better. If only her Lucky Charm could make this whole thing go away.
“I-I don’t know what to do, Ladybug,” Adrien whispered into her arms, sinking even further into her.
Her heart broke at his words. She didn’t know what to do either. But there had to be something... anything to help Adrien.
Darting her gaze around, determination flooded through her. “Do you want to get out of here?” Ladybug whispered back, her fingers already reaching for her yo-yo.
He leaned back, staring back at her with a pair of wounded green eyes. “Y-you don’t think we have to stay b-because of...,” Adrien stuttered, gesturing around them.
“No, I don’t, Adrien.” She shook her head. “We beat him. It’s up to the police from here. And I don’t think you should have to see this.”
“T-then please,” he pleaded, sinking back into her arms. “Get me out of here.”
Twirling her yo-yo, Ladybug tugged him closer to her. With one last glance at their surroundings, she sent them flying up into the air. There was only one destination in her mind. She was going to take him to the one place that they both had good memories of. The top of the Eiffel Tower.
She swung the both of them to their patrol spot, her eyes softening as she spotted the pack of cards that they had left here. Setting him down on the ground, Ladybug moved to step out of his embrace when she felt Adrien embrace her harder.
“Thank you, Ladybug,” he murmured, keeping his face buried in her shoulder. “I-I just... thank you.”
Her heart stuttered in her chest as her gaze softened. “Of course, Adrien. This is the absolute least that I could do. I just wish that I could do more.”
Adrien chuckled weakly, leaning his head back to look at her. “Trust me, Ladybug. Right now, this is more than enough.”
Even in a situation like this, he was still the kindest boy that she had ever met. It wasn’t even a surprise that she had fallen for him twice. Both as Adrien and Chat Noir. But now wasn’t the time to think about her feelings. Right now she had to focus on just helping and comforting him like he had done so often for her in the past.
“Do you want to just sit and talk?” Ladybug gestured down to their usual spot with a soft smile on her face.
Adrien nodded his head, already moving to sit down. “Do you think we could play a game of cards, too? That always helps to distract me.”
“Of course, Adrien.” She sat down across from him, picking up the deck that they had left up here. Her breath caught in her throat as the setting sun lit up his face, making him look even more handsome. Shaking her head, Ladybug quickly dealt the cards out as a way to distract herself too.
They sat there for a while, playing a few rounds of different card games to take both of their minds off of the day’s events. It was nice and she even managed to get Adrien to laugh a few times. Hearing him laugh gave her hope. She just needed to keep him laughing and as happy as possible.
Examining the cards in front of her, she debated on asking him whether or not he had any Kings when she heard Adrien speak up, “You know, we don’t have to worry about akumatizations anymore.”
Ladybug blinked up at him before a warm smile spread across her face. “Isn’t that the greatest news?”
He hummed, nodding his head. After a few more moments, he gave her a hesitant smile. “I-it also means that we don’t have to worry about getting akumatized anymore. S-so if you wanted to tell me o-or share your identity, whenever you’re ready to, of course you can!”
Her eyes widened in shock. She had been so focused on getting Adrien out of where they were that she had completely forgotten about her promise. That they would be able to learn their identities as soon as Hawkmoth was defeated.
Ladybug almost slapped a hand to her forehead at how she missed it. Especially with Adrien sitting in front of her. Standing up, she rushed out, “I-I’m so sorry, Adrien! I completely forgot about secret identities honestly. B-but I am ready to share... if that’s what you want?”
“It’s all I’ve ever wanted.” He stood up slowly, giving her a small smile.
She breathed out a sigh, trying to calm herself down. She really was ready though. Had been ready for a while now, to be completely honest. Quietly, she murmured, “Spots off.”
The pink magic fell around her and soon Marinette was left standing in Ladybug’s place. She gave him a small smile and a wave. “H-hello, Adrien.”
He didn’t say anything. He just stood there, gaping at her in surprise. She shifted uncomfortably, wondering if maybe she shouldn’t have been ready. Suddenly, though, she was wrapped up in a tight hug, her breath whooshing out of her in surprise.
“I’m so glad it’s you, Marinette,” Adrien whispered in her arms.
Her gaze softened before her eyes fluttered shut. With those words, she brought her arms up and hugged him back just as tightly. She’d sit with him here all night if he asked her to. Right now, she needed to keep her focus on the boy she loved. They would get through this... together. Just like always.

The secret I know
Ladynoir, Adrianette, Ladrien, Marichat
Part 1
“I love Chat Noir.”
She didn’t even mean to say it out loud. It was just a natural conclusion of the stream of thoughts and feelings, that haunted Marinette in the last weeks. Maybe months.
She didn’t know when and how exactly it happened. Probably it was inevitable. When that strong and kind person stays close to you as long as Chat did. When his warm and protective nature is so obvious. When his brave and fearless habits are so irresistible. When he declares his love to you and calls you the lady of his dreams...
“I knew there was something different in the way you were with Adrien last time.” Alya nodded with an understanding smile. “Like really. From the moment I’ve got to know your identity, I was expecting one of my ships to sail any moment!”
“I mean. It feels so natural. I can’t even remember the moment when it wasn’t there.” Marinette sighed. “With him I feel safe, even fighting for my life. He knows all my weaknesses and is still there for me. And he loves me.” She looked at her friend with eyes full of tears. “And I didn’t believe he could love me without knowing who I am, but his mask didn’t stop me either.”
“Hey-hey.” Alya patted her on the shoulder. “This is good news, girl. You both deserve it, you know?”
“We can’t be together though.” Marinette was looking through the window with unseeing gaze now. “I can’t even tell him, because of how dangerous it would be...”
“Why would it be dangerous?” Alya turned Marinette’s head to face her again. “He loves you and it only helps him to fight for you better. Why do you think it should be different for you?”
“That’s exactly the point, Alya.” Marinette sighed again. “He fights for me. I fight for the city.” She shook her head. “The moment I let my feelings take a hold of me during a fight, I’ll forget about people. I’ll only think about his safety. And Shadow Moth will win.”
“I don’t think it’s all so one-sided.” Alya offered. “He is a part of the city. Of the people.” She hugged her friend tight. “Just give yourself some time to process it. You just realized your feelings, right? I’m sure it can’t be a bad thing. It’ll only make you stronger, once you’re ready to fully accept them.”
“I don’t know, Alya. I don’t feel like lying to myself about my feelings, but Chat... He doesn’t know about the bad things that may happen... And then there’s Adrien. I feel more like a friend to him right now, but I’d prefer to be completely over him before even thinking of starting something with the most important person in my life...”
“As much as I love our Sunshine-boy and all, let’s be real: Chat is much better fit for you. Adrien is too nice, too soft to handle you.”
“I don’t know. I still think Adrien is perfect. But now I can see Chat is perfect too...” Marinette’s eyes lit up with adoration. “His sense of humor, his courage, he is able to give me a hope in the darkest moments. He never stops believing. In me. And in us too... I think, at some point I just believed in it as well...”
“You guys are so sweet.” Alya rolled dreamy eyes. “I mean, like Adrinette is nice and all, but Ladynoir... it’s deep, it’s hot, it’s powerful. I can feel the energy of your bond so vivid, like you two are just meant to be.”
Marinette sighed for a hundred time that day.
“Let’s go back to school.” She called. “The lunch is nearly over.”
*
Adrien was upset.
Instead of being transformed and getting ready for the fight within the first sounds of the akuma alarm, he was following his classmate in his civilian form.
Marinette, smart and caring, the class president, of all people, should have known to stay far from the danger, instead of getting closer to where an akumatised villain was tearing the walls apart.
Maybe Alya convinced her to get some footage for the Ladyblog? But where was the crazy journalist herself then? And no, Marinette was first to trying and convince her friend to abandoned the dangerous path...
Adrien’s train of thought was suddenly cut off when he turned the corner after following Marinette and instead saw Ladybug (LADYBUG!!) zipping up the building at the end of the ally.
Adrien stopped.
For the first few moments his brain refused functioning.
He stared blandly at the end of the alley, from which his fighting partner had just zipped to the roof.
Exact sciences have always been close to Adrien. And yet, the task his brain was trying to solve at the moment did not give in to him.
Task conditions: One cute classmate, let’s call her M, enters the alley with a dead end, and one superhero, let’s call her L, leaves the ally after a few seconds after that.
Question: what is the likelihood of character M and character L to be the same character?
Note: cute? Since when did he think Marinette was cute?
Answer:
The loud sound of crashing walls brought Adrien from his thoughts, or rather, the absence of them.
“Akuma!” He exclaimed, in attempt to wake himself up from what ever state the last few minutes brought him. “Plagg, claws out!”
*
“Chat!” Her yoyo were already rubbed around his body, and Ladybug pulled her partner fast from the akuma’s attack. “What is wrong with you today?!” She cried at him, when she caught him and put at his feet.
But there were no usual anger in her voice. All Chat Noir could hear was concern and care. Was she always soft and deep like this? Or does he feel it only now that he knows it’s the sweet Marinette who wears the mask?
“I uh...” Chat Noir felt his cheeks warming. “I was distracted... Sorry, LB.” He swallowed, preparing to hear the lecture about being concentrated while on duty.
But it didn’t follow.
Instead, Ladybug’s face softened even more. She placed her palm on his shoulder in support and nodded.
“It’s ok, Chat.” She gave him a short encouraging smile. “We all have our moments. Just stay behind me until you’re able to collect yourself.”
And Ladybug zipped away toward the akuma, leaving Chat Noir even more confused and blushed under his mask.

Adrien knew it was Marinette. Common sense was that if she had all the miraculous on, she’d probably have the fox. She would’ve gotten away with it, but Chat Noir could clearly the difference. After the Volpina scandal he’d noticed how flat the illusions could look, so when the tiny Multimouse seemed just a bit lackluster, he simply connected the dots.
Still, she’d put so much effort into the whole thing, so who was he to ruin it for her? He’d simply play along.
Ever since he found out Ladybug’s identity, he tried to get closer to Marinette, but she always seemed to be uncomfortable around Adrien. It disappointed him, but he understood. Adrien came with high expectations, while Chat Noir was free of these standards.
He’d visit Marinette as Chat Noir every chance he got. At first, he was worried Ladybug might reprimand him, but Marinette seemed to enjoy the company.
Unlike Ladybug, sometimes Marinette would entertain Chat’s antics (probably because they weren’t in the middle of battling an akuma.)
They’d play video games, watch anime on her terrace, and eat goodies he wasn’t allowed at home. He considered her his best friend, in and out of the suit.
Unfortunately, he let this slip while hanging out with Alya, Nino and Marinette.
“Surely your friend Marinette will help you with the notes you missed.” Alya said, raising her eyebrows and directing a look towards Marinette.
“You mean best friend Marinette.” Adrien replied lightheartedly.
Marinette turned bright red, while Nino gasped in offense.
“Well who am I then? I thought you and I were closer!” Nino pouted.
“I- uh,” Adrien was at a loss, before deciding to play it off. “I can have more than one best friend Nino don’t get too jealous.” He laughed.
Marinette was still red as she handed Adrien her notes to take a picture of. They were all in the park after school, as they did sometimes when Adrien’s schedule would allow it.
Alya whispered something into Marinette’s ear that made her blush harder. Adrien couldn’t help but notice how cute she looked. He couldn’t believe the girl that threw herself at akumas with no fear could hardly look him in the eye without stuttering. He couldn’t help but tease her.
“Everything ok Marinette?” He leaned closer and put his hand on her forehead. She froze and looked up, cross eyed at his hand. “You look like you’re heating up.”
She practically fell backwards trying to scoot away from his hand. “Yeah yeah! You feel great.” She said in a daze. “I mean I feel great!”
Adrien let out a laugh, and everyone joined in. Marinette even seemed to giggle a little. Adrien took that as a win.
————————————
He kept up this rouse for months, visiting her at nights after patrols or whenever he missed her. As he did this, he began to fall in love with her as Marinette. It wasn’t all at once though. At first when he’d discovered her identity he had trouble seeing the two as one person. But as he spent more time with Marinette he could see all of Ladybug’s characteristics in her, and in turn, Marinette characteristics in Ladybug.
Anytime Ladybug would doubt her plans, she’d get the same face Marinette would make when she proposed something to Adrien. The determination Marinette had when it came to her friends was the same attitude Ladybug had toward all Parisians.
And with that Adrien was hopelessly in love with her. Still, there was Luka.
She mentioned there was an other guy as Ladybug, and before he knew who she was he assumed she and Luka already had a thing. Before, he could accept this, but after knowing everything it hurt a little more.
He put this all aside though, because Marinette was his friend and partner first (and romantic interest second.)
But as he got lost in her eyes one night while talking and sharing snacks he had to ask, had to hope maybe he was wrong.
“So I hear a certain boy has caught your heart Marinette, care to share?” He asked casually, looking away after a particularly vulnerable moment.
“Yeah he has.” Marinette said with a sigh as she started off into the distance, lovestruck.
Adrien couldn’t help but feel disappointed. “What’s he like?”
“God Chat, he’s just perfect. He cares so much about everyone, and despite everything the world had thrown at him, he’s still so kind.” Marinette gushed.
Adrien had heard about how Luka’s father had abandoned him and Juleka when they were younger. He knew how it felt to feel like there was a piece of your family missing, but not ever knowing them must be unbearable. He could tell Marinette thought the world of Luka.
“How do you feel about Ladybug?” Marinette ventured.
Adrien laughed, knowing who she was, it was funny when Marinette asked about herself. She did it often, as though she couldn’t believe anyone could think so highly of her.
“Well, what can I say that isn’t already obvious? She’s determined, kind, funny, and a bit of a klutz.”
Marinette pouted. “No one calls Ladybug a klutz.”
“Well no one else spends as much time with her as I do. At least in costume anyway.”
Marinette begrudgingly agreed.
“Although she could entertain my amazing puns.” Chat teased.
Marinette laughed. “In your dreams kitty.”
If Chat hadn’t already known she was Ladybug, the way she delivered that line would’ve gave it away. There was a certain fondness to it that only his partner could use with him.
————————————
At some point after Marinette became the guardian, something changed.
They communicated if he could come over by her leaving out a cup of milk or her sitting outside around 9. Lately that came less and less.
Ladybug started to miss more and more patrols. She said she was busy, and with the way Marinette no longer had time to hang out with her friends he could tell that was true.
He tried to distract himself and change targets, but that blew up in his face. Kagami was starting to believe his excuses less and less. It was no suprise when she broke off whatever they had.
What was surprising however, was when he heard from Nino, who heard from Alya, who heard from Juleka, that Marinette and Luka had broken up.
She was always tired, and this was evident through her red eyes with dark bags beneath them. Adrien felt so helpless. He wasn’t sure how he could help without telling her what he knew.
He started with little things, like giving her notes she missed without her asking, letting her know it was really okay if she had to miss a patrol here and there, and leaving her little treats on her terrace to find whenever she went up.
One night as he passed by her room to leave a gift, he found the trapdoor cracked open and could hear her crying in her bed. He could hear the kwamis trying to comfort her, but it wasn’t working.
He made a show of dropping down so she’d have time to hide the kwamis before he knocked on the edge of the open trapdoor.
“You ok Marinette?”
When she lifted the trapdoor fully open a minute later he could tell she had tried to make herself look better. Her eyes looked freshly wiped and she had a forced smile on her face.
“Hey Chat. I’m fine just a little busy. Sorry we haven’t hung out in a while.”
Chat could still hear the sobs in his head that had been coming from her not even 5 minutes ago.
He threw his arms around her and she pulled herself into the ledge before crumbling into him.
She sobbed so hard, he was worried she’d break.
They stayed like that for at least half an hour. Chat rubbed her back and whispered affirmations into her ear.
“Shhh, it’ll be okay. You’re okay. You’re doing great.”
He didn’t know how she hadn’t been akumatized, but with him there, there was no way he’d let that happen.
When she finally calmed down, she pulled from him to look him in the eyes.
Her eyes were puffy and red from crying, there was a bit of snot coming from her nose. Still, she looked beautiful in the moonlight.
“I’m sorry Chat. Sometimes it’s just too hard to hold it in.” She said with a hiccup.
Chat pulled her back in. “Everyone needs to let it out every once in a while Marinette. There’s nothing to be sorry for, I’m just glad you chose me to be here for you. Do you wanna talk about it?”
Marinette shook her head. Chat sighed. He wouldn’t push her to say anything, no matter how much he wished she’d tell him.
“What can I do?” He asked.
“Stay with me until I fall asleep?” She whispered into his shoulder.
Chat nodded and she got up and climbed into her bed. Chat followed and left the trapdoor open.
There he laid, her head on his chest until her breathing evened out. He really didn’t want to leave. She was so warm and vulnerable. He was so in love with her.
But he knew he couldn’t stay, so ever so reluctantly, he lifted her from him softly and he left.
————————————
The next day when he saw her, he could see for the first time in what felt like forever she looked like she got some rest.
He ran up to her and hugged her tightly. She stiffened before relaxing into his touch.
“Marinette, I know if I ask you’re gonna tell me you’re okay, but I want you to know I can tell you aren’t. I’m here for you. We’re all here for you. Please don’t push us away.” He said into her hair. It smelled like strawberries and sweets, like always. It was comforting.
“O-okay.” She stuttered out. “Thank you Adrien.” She said softly. He felt her hold on a little tighter.
End Notes- Feel free to send in prompts! Also I wanna write more reveals where only one of them knows so look out for that. Reply your favorite part and leave a like and reblog if you liked this it makes my day ;)

Ladynoir July Day 8 - Admiration
This story is part 5 of a series: a sequel to my Marinette March, Adrinette April, Marichat May, and Ladrien June stories; I highly recommend reading those first.
You can also read this story on AO3: Hurricane
---
“It feels different when it’s me, but I guess you have a point,” Adrien said reluctantly. He still blamed himself for not noticing sooner, but he could see what Trixx meant and it was hard to argue against. There was no way he would’ve blamed Marinette if their situations were reversed.
Although Adrien couldn’t ever imagine kindly Tom Dupain becoming Hawkmoth, so that was a bit of a moot point.
“What am I going to do about my parents, Trixx?” he asked. “My dad is a supervillain. If Ladybug and I win against my mom, then he’s going to stay dead. How are we going to explain to people that my mom showed up overnight at the same that my dad ‘went missing’?” He couldn’t help using air quotes around those last two words.
Trixx looked troubled by that. “I don’t know… but that’s not really your problem, is it? Wouldn’t that be something your mom would have to explain away?”
“Yeah, I guess.” Adrien sighed. He was a little worried that Émilie’s way of handling things might turn out to be just as illegal as Gabriel’s methods. What would he do if Émilie tried to run away in the middle of the night? He couldn’t leave Paris. He couldn’t leave Ladybug or Plagg.
“Things will work themselves out,” Trixx said encouragingly. “Step one is to get the miraculous away from your mom, right?”
“Right. At least they have to wait a month before they make a wish,” Adrien said, a little relieved by that – until he caught sight of the way Trixx was frowning.
“Who told you that?” Trixx asked.
“My mom did,” Adrien said.
He suddenly realized that he and Marinette had just accepted what Émilie had said as the truth. Well, Adrien didn’t know enough about the miraculous to be able to contest something like that. But Marinette had seemed to accept it at face value too, so he’d assumed that meant Émilie was telling them the truth. Seized by a sudden horror, he sat up straight.
“Wait. Was she lying to us?” he demanded.
Trixx’s frown deepened. “The finer details of how Plagg’s and Tikki’s powers work was never made clear to us kwamis,” he admitted. “I only know what I’ve been able to overhear from the guardians.”
Adrien was pretty sure that kwami weren’t supposed to be eavesdropping, but he didn’t even care about that right now. “Trixx, is that not true? Do you really have to wait a month between wishes?”
“Under certain circumstances, yes. But there are ways to dramatically speed up the process. They were written in the miraculous grimoire,” Trixx explained.
“The grimoire was with my father,” Adrien realized with a fresh jolt of horror, remembering that day that he had taken it from the safe. No wonder Gabriel had been so incredibly angry about its disappearance. And no wonder Marinette had been the one to return it! He understood now that she had probably taken the book to Master Fu.
“He wouldn’t know how to read it. The grimoire is encrypted with a code that only the guardian knows,” Trixx said reassuringly.
“Unless he figured out a way,” Adrien said grimly. He wouldn’t put anything past Gabriel Agreste at this point.
“He couldn’t have,” Trixx said, but with considerably less certainty.
The two of them looked at each other.
“Oh boy,” Adrien said. “Ladybug and I really need to get a move on. If my father unlocked the secrets of the grimoire, then Nathalie definitely knows about them. And if Nathalie knows, that means my mom knows. I’m sure she wouldn’t hesitate to do whatever was necessary to speed up the process.”
Had it been any other situation, he might have felt some admiration for his parents. They were determined enough to do whatever needed to be done when it came to getting what they wanted. But right now? That sort of attitude was just awful. Inadvertently, images of Émilie sacrificing someone to speed up the wish process flashed through his mind and he shuddered.
He hoped that wasn’t the case.
“I would say that some haste is wise,” Trixx said worriedly.
“Okay then.” Adrien reached into his pocket and yanked out the box. This time, he opened up the top of it without hesitation and picked up the ring. He slid it onto his finger, just as he had that fateful first day – but this time, he was prepared for the flash of green light that slowly coalesced into a familiar face.
“Hi, I’m Plagg! Got any cheese?”

100 Ways to say I Love You Chapter 92
I want you to have this (Ladrien)
AO3
Consciousness returned slowly to Adrien. Blinking the sleep from his eyes, he turned his head instinctively to the side, seeking out Ladybug but finding only empty space, though it was still warm, the impression of her body imprinted into the bed.
Rising up on his elbows, he squinted in the darkness, searching the room for her. “My lady?” His voice was rough, thick with sleep and he coughed, clearing his throat.
“I’m here, Adrien.”
He turned towards the sound of her voice, finding her sitting at the very edge of the bed, sheets pooling around her waist. Her fingers moved rapidly, braiding her hair. The moonlight filtering in through a gap in the curtains outlined her in burning silver, casting her in a pale, otherworldly glow.
His breath caught at the sight of her. He had never seen a more beautiful creature. Nor would he ever.
Throwing back the blankets, he crawled across the bed on his knees, wrapping an arm around her waist and pressing a kiss to the back of her shoulder. Ladybug's breath hitched at his touch and he smiled against her skin, trailing more kisses along the curve of her shoulder, traveling up her neck until he reached her ear, murmuring “what are you thinking about?”
Instead of responding, she turned in his arms, burying her face in his chest and almost pushing him onto his back with the force of the movement. He steadied them, tightening his arms around her, wincing slightly as the embroidery on Ladybug’s mask scratched at his skin.
For a long moment, they stayed like that, unmoving until eventually, she pulled away, looking up at him tearfully. Worry spiked in his gut. “What is it, my darling?” he brushed the hair from her face, placing a kiss to her brow.
Drawing back further—though making sure not to leave the circle of his arms—Ladybug tugged harshly at the ribbon she’d threaded through her plait, her dark hair cascading around her face past her shoulders in soft waves.
(Adrien had often thought that when God had made her, He must have plucked the deepest colour of the night sky for her hair. For if her skin was moonlight, then her hair was the midnight sky.)
His fingers itched to run through it, to feel the strands slide over his hand like silk, but he resisted the urge, watching curiously as Ladybug wrapped her hair ribbon around his wrist, tying it with shaking hands.
“I want you to have this,” she said, her voice wobbling “to remember me by.”
Ice flooded through his veins at her words and suddenly, their bed did not seem so warm anymore. “No—”
Their time was limited of course. It always was. But it was a fact that went unacknowledged within these four walls, when they left all worldly affairs at the door.
“You know I cannot stay—”
“Then I will come with you!” He stood abruptly, shrugging on his shirt and striding across the room, barely even noticing the freezing flagstones beneath his feet. Wrenching open the door to his wardrobe, Adrien pulled out a satchel, stuffing as many clothes as he could into it.
“You can’t—” Lighting the candelabra by their bed, Ladybug hurried after him, but he paid her no mind, already counting coins and pouring them into a leather purse.
“This should be enough,” he muttered under his breath “but just in case…” grabbing another purse, he filled it with more coins, pushing it to the bottom of his satchel.
“Adrien, you cannot come with me, and you know why.”
“I can, and I will.” He turned to her, eyes blazing “for too long I have been relegated to the sidelines. It is time that I fight by your side!”
Not for the first time, Adrien cursed the circumstances of his birth that had made him into a prince. A prince who could do nothing while his people revolted, fighting against the corruption of his father and getting cut down in ruthless retaliation.
One day, the person cut down might be Ladybug.
He could not allow it.
“Why must you be so stubborn?!” Ladybug cried, grabbing him by the arms and stopping him in his tracks.
“Because I lo—” he broke off, looking away quickly, the words stuck in his throat.
Ladybug stared. Slowly, she cupped his head, fingers sliding to the back of his neck and guiding him to face her.
“I know,” she whispered. “I know.” She repeated, forcing him to meet her gaze. “I feel the same.”
“My lady…”
“But we cannot let our feelings cloud our judgement. When all this is over, you are to sit the throne. And for that you must remain safe. We cannot lose you—not if we want to win.”
“And I cannot lose you ,” he breathed, cupping her face. She turned her head, taking ahold of his wrist to keep it in place, pressing a soft kiss to his palm.
“I will return,” she vowed. Her eyes glowed in the candlelight, her expression earnest. “I promise you. Make sure that you will be here to meet me.”
“I—”
Swallowing roughly, Adrien squeezed his eyes shut for a moment before slumping, nodding in resignation. His heart ached in his chest but he knew the truth of her words. They owed it to their people to do right by them.
But that didn’t mean they could not enjoy their last few hours together.
Tracing Ladybug’s features with the back of his hand, Adrien’s eye caught the ribbon that was tied to his wrist, the deep red standing out starkly against his skin. He knew now that he would not remove it until he saw her safe again, held her in his arms, kissed her and made sure she was unharmed.
But it gave him an idea.
Bringing his hands to Ladybug’s waist, he dipped his head low, capturing her mouth in a kiss. Her hands flew to his shoulders, holding on tightly as their lips moved against each other, his tongue sweeping into her mouth tangling with hers and eliciting a moan from deep within her throat.
Pulling back slightly, he peppered kisses along her jaw, walking them backwards towards the bed, gently laying her atop the mattress.
“Adrien…” she murmured. With her hair splayed out on the pillow, her blue eyes almost luminous behind her mask as she stared up at him, her lips swollen and cheeks flushed, Adrien thought that she had never looked so beautiful. Or less real.
“Well then,” he hovered over her, stroking her cheek before kissing her again. And again. And again. “I think I ought to give you something to remember me by as well.”

Fanfic 2020 in Review
I got tagged by @kasienda @noirshitsuji and @marvelousmsmol and I am tagging whoever wants to play!
1) List of fics completed this year in the order they were finished:
*filters own works to complete and updated in 2020*
1 - 20 of 57 Works by AlexSeanchai
nope. *adds filter to include only works of at least 1000 words*
unless otherwise indicated, these are all Miraculous Ladybug:
“don’t bake it lying down”, post-reveal Marichat vs Felix Graham de Vanily
“veracity”, canon divergence from “Ladybug” featuring Mister Bug and Verity Queen (so also Marichat, I guess)
“(no request is too extreme, if) your heart is in your dream”, in which Hawkmoth wins, for the thirty seconds or so before Emilie saves Ladybug and Chat Noir’s lives
“tell me you love me and make me believe it”, in which trans girl Chatonne Noire ropes Ladybug into helping plan her civilian self’s escape slash social transition
“kingmaker, oathbreaker”, in which Hawkmoth wins and Emilie watches her son remove himself from the family
“stay and let me watch you break it down” (Twelve Dancing Princesses), a modern setting
“set a course for winds of fortune”, in which trans girl Chatonne Noire has already escaped and Gabriel and Nathalie are trying to bring Gabriel’s son home
“we ground love in a hopeless place”, in which post-reveal Marinette’s attempt to remain resolutely not in love with her partner dissolves like sugar in coffee when they start a pun war
“ring the bells that still can ring”, in which Alya is deeply confused about why Adrien and Marinette are planning a wedding when last night both were single
“burning wishes at both ends (the cold wind and long loud wail remix)”, in which Gabriel made a monkey’s paw wish and Emilie makes another
“words cannot espresso”, in which Marinette’s OC roommate is justifiably worried for Marinette’s safety, and meanwhile Adrien takes care of Marinette
“the compromise of truth” (the chronologically second-earliest part posted to date of nine lives, snake’s eyes), in which Adrien tells his friends how he won some freedom and respect from his father
“At The Present Time”, the Ladrien/Ladynoir marriage proposal follow-up to @art-deco-shrimp‘s  “Your Presents Required”
“j'ai rêvé (so I don't have to dream alone)”, in which the events of canon must just have been a series of dream sequences, Marinette and Adrien both think, until they both arrive at Chloe’s Halloween masquerade dressed as themselves from the dreams
2) Number of words written:
ahahaha no. I am not counting all my scattered fic drafts and trying to figure out what I did and didn’t write in 2020. I refuse.
AO3 says I posted 162K in 2020. it is counting all of keeps you guessing (like any real love), which (a) I started posting in 2019 (b) is co-written by @galahadwilder; it is counting all of my meta snippets collection, much of which was written in 2019; it is counting the Vimeo passwords for my vids. but I probably cleared 150K by a safe margin.
3) Your most popular fic:
“veracity” has a four-digit kudos count, wow, when’d that happen? this is also the 2020 work with the most hits and the most bookmarks, but “tell me you love me” has four-thirds as many comments as its nearest competitor.
4) Your personal fav:
“cannot break us, not with a thousand swords”, no question about it. this is the one in which Ladybug proposes marriage to Chat Noir via Princess Bride meme on Tumblr. (if you intend to download the work or otherwise to consume it with creator style off, you want the accessible version instead of the primary version.)
5) Your fav scene:
aaaaaaaaa
—okay so this is cheating and I know it, since Uncertain Humors (the one where Marinette/Adrien is both Orpheus/Eurydice and Theseus/Ariadne) is nowhere near finished, never mind posted (maybe I'll get “Sanguine” done to post on my birthday?)
but it is still my favorite of the year. as you might guess from that description of the story, this scene has content notes for character death:
Hell is a maze. Marinette walks.
This acrid passage has little to see but damp stone, seeming blood-stained in the dim carmine light. At about the height of her heart, the faintly glowing thread cuts through the not-clammy air; it ought to be pulsing at the same rate as the heart it's bound to. She might be able to see her own reflection if she looked down at the open sewage pipe, or at one of the puddles that now and again she splashes through, dampening the canvas of her shoes. She might see reflected what's behind her.
She remembers Mme. Mendeleiev lecturing on human physiology. In healthy humans old enough to have learned how, urination is a voluntary action: one may not know which muscles one tenses and relaxes in order to do so, and probably isn't paying attention to those details when one is doing, but one has conscious control over whether one does. Usually. Stress and anxiety mean some people are unable to relax the relevant sphincter muscle and others are unable to stop themselves. It's voluntary for cats, too: it's one way they mark their territories. Cat-boys have other ways.
There is a moment in every human life when all one's muscles relax at once. Some Parisians have had several such moments.
The thread is braided with itself around her left fourth finger, rows of tiny red half-hitch knots, and falls loosely over the back of her hand to loop twice around her wrist. She holds it wrapped between the fingers of her right hand to keep it at a constant tension, as though knitting with this insubstantial thread, so fragile for something two (two dozen, two million) lives hang from—too thin to sew with, no thicker than one strand of his hair. As she walks, she winds it around and around and around her wrist.
Between her ring finger and her right hand, it loops twice.
Marinette's shoe lands in a puddle she didn't see. The rainwater splashes soundlessly onto her bare ankle and on the stone.
(With cat-like tread, upon our prey we steal— It's a very loud song.)
She walks on.
6) A fic or scene that challenged you:
where the firelight fades, no contest. this is the second story I’ve ever been able to stick with more than a couple hundred words past the 20K mark, but it’s easily the twentieth novel-length I’ve begun. (though also, you know that kedreeva post? well, 90K later, I’m less than 15K from completing this 10K fic! I think.) and I have been learning so much about long-form fiction.
there has also been a lot of weeping and tearing my hair. case in point: I just trashed the chapter 15 draft because I figured out the reason it wasn’t going anywhere! I can probably keep the first few hundred words of that draft without any editing, and another few hundred with some revision...
7) A line of writing you’re proud of:
from “j'ai rêvé (so I don't have to dream alone)”:
Everything about their partnership is fragments of sentences in the dream diary Adrien writes in ultraviolet pen. Disjointed flickers of thought even when examined under the black light he hides in the snack cabinet under packets of Super Yoyo sandwich cookies and bags of cheesy Monster Munch potato chips and boxes of petit écolier butter cookies (chocolat noir)—none of which explains the gym-socks smell. All fleeting incoherent flashes, invisible between the mundane lines of La Modification shelved at his bedside between Leroux and Dumas. None of it is solid. Adrien has more proof his room's haunted.
okay let me break this down for you!
* Adrien started a dream diary to make sense of the memories
* in invisible ink, in a book that (according to Wikipedia) is thematically appropriate and won’t (if Gabriel sees it) look like anything other than Adrien developing an interest in French literature
* shelved between Phantom of the Opera and The Three Musketeers
* look I didn’t come up with the name “black light”
* or “chocolat noir” for what English speakers call “dark chocolate”, or “petit écolier” (that is, “little schoolboy”) for that sort of butter cookie
* also not my fault that “chocolat noir” sounds remarkably like “Chat Noir”, which, attentive readers may have noticed, is not a name that appears in the story after the header and before Miraculous Cure
* I found the website of a store in Boston, Massachusetts that caters to French expats, and the yo-yo cookies and the monster chips were right there in the photos, y’all
* the snack stash and the black light live in the cabinet where, in canon, the Camembert lives; yes, that cheese smells in the real world like gym socks
* this story’s akuma was not able to affect anything but squishy human memory: nobody affected remembers anything about Ladybug or Chat Noir or Hawkmoth, not in any solid way, not even when they read news articles about the subject, and this includes Marinette and Adrien not being able to see or hear or remember their own kwamis—but you know what Adrien’s Insta post about his poltergeist and Adrien’s Insta post with the floating sock don’t show and don’t explicitly refer to?
* I love this paragraph so much (my housemates may have been lovingly mocking me over it)
8) A comment that touched you:
there are people (y’all know who you are) who said y’all are studying my style. I ded of blush.
9) Something that inspired your writing:
by volume of fic drafts that can be blamed on any particular person, the winner is probably @norakwami
10) Your proudest accomplishment (that one scene; finally finishing that one fic; posting your first fic; etc):
so that longest-story-ever-written record I set in 2007 with the 89.5K story that, till where the firelight fades, was the only story I’d gotten much past 20K?
I broke that fucking record!
and then I deleted the draft of firelight chapter 15 😭
11) Do you have any writing goals for the next year?
I’m starting work on a fantasy novel, a Sleeping Beauty retelling in which I explore (among other things) the economic consequences of the king’s ordering all the spinning wheels burned, and I want to make significant progress on that. and I want to not make my hands any worse; I kind of need those!
(breaking news alert: bodies fucking suck. so does giving yourself repetitive stress injuries in doing one and a half to two people’s worth of work for an organization that was never ever going to pay you more than one person’s worth of pay.)

Okay, okay, okay, so I have this concept for Ladrien June (prompts are done, calendar is in the works!) and I haven't written for a theme month in forever, but the idea made me laugh a little when I was planning LJ, and I've been fleshing it out. Issue is, at present, I don't have an ending planned for it, and I ran out of prompts in the month (I'm combining multiple prompts per chapter to tell one story rather than one off drabbles), so I was thinking I could possibly extend it into LN July and morph it into a Ladrien/LN concept on the back end. But I'm torn bc it relies on prompts I haven't seen yet and don't know if they'll fit the story. So, my question is, I guess, would you guys be interested in the fic even if it doesn't have an ending yet and may go on hiatus until I figure that out at the end of June? Or should I just shelf the idea until I figure out the ending?
For a little context other than just "ladrien" the fic is Ladrien secret dating. Adrien enters a "how well do you know ladybug contest" on the ladyblog to win an afternoon with her (intending to go as Chat Noir), but accidentally jeopardizes his identity, so in digging his way out of it, Adrien tells everyone he's just Ladybug's number 1 fan, which naturally gets Marinette like 👀 and anyway, they start dating in secret (as ladrien), and I'm debating including a reveal at the end of the Ladrien June portion that could then lend to LN for July, but idk I still don't know where to go with this story outside of what I have. 🤔 I want it to stay kind of lighthearted and cracky but still sweet and emotional because every other fic in my repertoire rn is heavy angst and very involved. I dunno. Give me your thoughts.

Ladrien is mostly cute & fluffy ✨
Back at it with another analysis! Ladrien is ranked as my third favorite ship in the love square. There’s a lot of cuteness involved, but of course, like every other ship, it has its cons.
How it started
I tried searching for the first Ladrien moment in the series - it was hard. I would say their first big interaction was in The Mime when he pulls up in his car, and him and Ladybug just stare lovingly into each other’s eyes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I feel like this scene explains the ship pretty well: they stare at each other a lot and can’t form proper sentences because they like each other so much.
Lots of cute, fluffy scenes
When these two meet, it’s usually when an akumatized villain was interacting with Adrien before they got akumatized. So, he ends up in danger and of course Ladybug is the first to swoop in and save the precious boy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Adrien is involved, she’ll always ask Cat Noir if Adrien is okay, did he bring him to safety. Of course he is and Cat has to lie through his teeth relating to his whereabouts.
I also loved how she was able to carry him in Riposte and Style Queen- Ladybug has that bit of super strength. Even just them blushing is super adorable. We’re here for some wholesome Ladrien moments.
Tumblr media
They like each other a lot and it shows.
They could easily get together
Everyone knows Adrien/Cat Noir likes Ladybug, Ladybug/Marinette likes Adrien. It’s canon.
You could lock superhero Ladybug and regular ol Adrien in a room together. Either they won’t talk at all, OR a love confession happens and BOOM they’re a couple.
There are chances it could work...but also chances it couldn’t.
Adrien is a *little* obsessed with Ladybug
Although he’s not NEARLY as obsessive as Marinette, Adrien also has a collection of Ladybug pics he keeps on his phone. Adrien can also be seen reading the LadyBlog a few times, just desperate to get information on her true identity.
Tumblr media
He also wrote her that sappy love poem in Dark Cupid and has hopes that the response he got back is from Ladybug.
Tumblr media
He daydreams about her when he’s alone in his room - he likes to think of ways to get her. But it’s cute how in Glaciator he was just happy she wants to be his friend and is hopeful she’ll eventually become something more.
Thomas Astruc actually made some good points on this ship
As he does, Thomas likes to shut down the ships. Ladrien’s downfall started in Desperada.
Going to back to one of the key points I made in my Marichat analysis, they are their most comfortable, raw selves as Marinette and Cat Noir. Also referring to my analysis of Adrien vs Cat Noir, he is either pushed to keep up a facade or he just doesn’t think he’ll be liked for his true self. He wanted to have a double life the second he met Plagg. Meanwhile, Marinette is more comfortable in her own skin. She didn’t originally want to be Ladybug, she hides a lot of her true personality from Cat Noir, and it gets really hard for her to stay strong. Keep all this in mind when reading my recap below.
In this episode, Ladybug let her emotions for Adrien take over her judgment and she first picks Adrien over Luka to give the snake miraculous to. Of course, Adrien’s judgment is also clouded because it’s the “love of his life” Ladybug, he hopes she loves him as Adrien, and he drops his cat miraculous.
Tumblr media
This obviously goes poorly because Ladybug says in front of Adrien that Cat Noir isn’t that important (Adrien feels hurt), and trusts Aspik to help her defeat Desperada. Adrien isn’t good with the snake miraculous, keeps failing, and finally gives up the miraculous, since he’s best as Cat Noir.
Tumblr media
During the time he was Aspik, he put himself at a disadvantage because he kept trying to win Ladybug over in the process. He’d pull romantic gestures, try confessing, etc. and it still didn’t work in his favor. Ladybug kept getting hit by Desperada because of his distractions!
While I don’t fully like Thomas’s plotline, I agree with the point he was trying to make about Ladrien. Adrien isn’t letting his true personality shine and he needs to understand that Ladybug should wholeheartedly like him for who he is all around.
Luckily, at the end of this episode as well as in the NY special, she realized Cat Noir is her best match (as a partner) and she’s best with him by her side (LadyNoir coming through!)
The same thing about Ladybug not liking Adrien’s raw personality can be said in Chat Blanc. When Adrien sees Ladybug flying through his room and figures out she’s Marinette, he thinks it’s okay for him to know her identity without telling her his. Which, as Plagg tells him, doesn’t make for a healthy relationship. It’s dangerous. (I agree with that.) Ladybug needs to be comfortable sharing her identity with him and know he’s Cat Noir.
Tumblr media
Then, he confesses to Marinette right after, which is iffy because there’s a couple speculations that can be made about that.
One idea is that Adrien’s right - he does realize he’s had feelings for Marinette all this time too. The other is that he THINKS he likes Marinette just because he now knows she’s Ladybug, not that he is actually romantically attracted to her personality. He needs to be sure he likes her for her REAL personality.
Final Thoughts
Here’s the tldr:
1. This couple could easily start without issues, and progress well if they open up to each other about their true personalities. But it won’t work if they kept dating as Ladybug and Adrien.
2. It’s cute, but they need to like each other for who they truly are.
3. Just enjoy the cute, fluffy moments. It hasn’t progressed anywhere (at least not yet) but it has potential to.

3: flowers (ladrien)
AO3
The florist closes in ten, Adrien’s just under twelve minutes away and the Gorilla is currently doing 112 kmh through the bustling streets of Paris to get him there before the store locks.
Stupid, stupid, stupid, he thinks to himself, window rolled down and his head sticking out the window a bit unsafely.
The Gorilla glances at him through the rear-view mirror and grunts.
Adrien knows he means business from the tone of it and settles into cushioned seat of the Mercedes-Benz. He rests his folded arms over the soft flap of the window, chin atop them.
Paris flutters by in its pristine glory, shops upon shops, bakeries upon bakeries, people upon people. Lots of people that Adrien studies casually as he taps his fingers idly against the warm metal of the car.
An orange-pink sky is slowly being tinkered away by midnight blue, a waning crescent tickling the edges of the sun out of view. Lingering remnants of summer and warm fill the air, clinging to his skin, his face, the interior leather seats, even the flaps on the window.
17:55 the clock reads, tick tick tick edging into Adrien’s anxiety like a knife.
He knows the Gorilla can’t drive faster. He understands that it’s his fault for taking his sweet time dressing and undressing in different outfits. Plagg reminds him of it with a small snicker that’s not heard to his bodyguard.
Max has told him time and time again that statistically speaking, the better chance he has of woo’ing a potential partner is to show he cares. Now he wonders whether his messily slicked-back hair, white button-up tucked into navy shorts and birkenstocks is overkill.
Too late to go back and change, so Adrien rolls with it, plucking a loose strand of hair off his forehead before leaving it with a pout. ‘No matter how much gel I put in it, that piece always lets gravity win.”
His comment pulls an unusual grin out of the Gorilla.
17:59 and the Gorilla is skidding to a stop, Adrien hauling his ass out of the car and into the aesthetically-pleasing flower shop. Flowers upon flowers, beautifully-colored ones that are vibrant against the shops dark paneling fill his vision.
It’s overwhelming and his brain hurts from overstimulation.
An elder florist dressed in a light and airy skirt turns the corner and shocks Adrien enough for him to nearly fall over, steadying himself on the counter closest to him. It’s filled with bright colored peonies and hydrangeas he almost knocks off, fumbling to catch the beautifully arranged assortments.
“You look lost,” the florist quips with a hint of amusement on her otherwise stoic face.
“I am in desperate need of help,” Adrien replies, eyes wide as he scans the excessive amount of flowers and arrangements and it’s all too much oh my god.
Said florist tilts her head to the side, tapping a patient foot on the ground. “Are you looking to send threatening flowers? Because that’s not really my thing,” she pauses, leaning in with twinkling eyes. “If you pay me a little extra, though…”
“No, oh god no, it’s just—It’s a special day for this girl I really care about and I want to show her how much I care, if that makes sense.” Shuffingly awkwardly in place, Adrien’s hands twist into one another to stop himself from touching his neck. “I don’t want to go overboard either, even though I think she deserves every flower in this shop.”
“If you’re not careful enough, you might accidentally send her threatening flowers with that mindset,” Agnés—her name tag reads as she approaches him—tells him with slanted eyebrows. “Alright, lover boy. I’ve got you covered.”
Please still be here, please still be here, please—
Oh dieu merci, Adrien thinks as he slows his breathing from running across the Champ de Mars. Decorations scatter around the vicinity, Ladybug and Chat Noir themed merchandise lining the park in mobile kiosks. Balloons with their faces being held by small, crying children with overjoyous parents.
Heroes’ Day is a time of celebration, filled with joy and love and happiness that warms Adrien to the brim. Him and Ladybug, plus all of the temporary miraculous holders, share in festivities that reminds the population of Paris that their savours are still human, like them.
The extra time spent with Ladybug each year is an added bonus.
Adrien left the celebrations a little early to find the Gorilla, grab his flower for Ladybug, and take off into a sprint across the grassed field behind tour Eiffel to catch her before she left.
Ladybug rounds the corner after signing a civilian’s signature book, clearly ready to leave, when Adrien calls her name loud enough for her to hear him. “Ladybug!”
They practically bump into each other as they both try to round the corner synchronously. Ladybug’s eyes widen as she takes note of him and his trajectory, digging her feet into the ground to stop the seemingly inevitable crash.
It doesn’t happen.
Before either of them can ram into one another, Adrien’s free hand lands on Ladybug’s shoulder and halts their movements, warmth flooding to his cheeks.
His hands burn, his cheeks burn, his whole body burns now that he’s here.
‘Adrien Agreste?” Her voice is stricken and slightly shrill, so unlike the Ladybug he knows and has come to love that he almost—keyword being almost—laughs.
“H-Hi Ladybug,” he says, dumbly, cursing himself for acting so starstruck around her. Get ahold of yourself, idiot, this is your partner for crying-out-loud!
“Hello,” she replies a bit unsurely, her own cheeks matching her suit color. “Is everything okay?”
No. You’re too pretty for me to think clearly. “Yes. I have something for you,” Adrien spits out, cringing internally at how blunt he is sometimes. “I wanted to get you something for Heroes’ Day—”
A smile grows on her face, a slow rise akin to a blooming flower. “That’s so sweet, Adrien! You really didn’t have to!”
Shrugging his shoulders, the hand behind his back appears in front of him, showcasing his flower for her to see.
It’s a red hibiscus with coral undertones, so vibrant in color it rivals that of her suit. The flower is encased in a small paper cup with intertwining colorful designs on it, soil and all. “I didn’t want to buy a pot for it because I wanted you to find one that suited your room, or something,” he trails off dumbly at the expression on her face, slightly panicking. “If you don’t like it, I can always get you another? I mean, the florist I went to doesn’t open until tomorrow, but—”
“—Adrien,” Ladybug interrupts, her hand finding his bicep with a pretty smile on her face that has Adrien’s stomach soaring. “Please, it’s perfect. Don’t you take this flower away from me.”
Adrien chokes at her words, eyes dipping to glance at her hand before they raise to meet hers, except—
She’s leaning in.
Time stops. Adrien’s lucky his grip on the cup is tight as Ladybug’s soft, plump lips graze his cheek. Her lips touch the corner of his mouth and it sends shocks through his body as she takes the paper cup from him. “Thank you. This is one of the nicest gifts anyone’s ever gotten me.”
“Am I dead?” His brain-to-mouth filter is gone, eyes widening in mortification at her giggle—the cutest giggle he’s ever heard.
“Not yet, no,” Ladybug tells him through her quiet laughs, blinking up at him through her eyelashes. “As much as I would love to stay and chat—”
Heh. Chat.
“—I must be going now. Thank you again for the flower, Adrien. It’s really lovely.”
With a surge of confidence and determination, Adrien gently grabs one of Ladybug’s gloved hands in his. Lips graze over the top of her hand, across the ridge of her knuckle and the dip where her fingers meet her hand. “Get home safe,” he whispers, smiling stupidly at her.
“I—I,” Ladybug stutters, her eyes wide and mouth ajar. “I’ve gotta go,” she squeaks out, quickly but carefully ripping her hand out of his and yo-yo’ing away.
“You two are disgusting,” Plagg grumbles in Adrien’s shirt pocket, face-palming with his tiny hands.
(Later on, Marinette buys a pot and decorates it with her paints and keeps the flower tucked away in Tikki’s garden so it lives longer).
((Tikki tells her to google the flower and Marinette has a near stroke when she realizes the symbolizing behind Adrien giving it to her)).
(((Ladybug shows up at Adrien’s house and kisses those same words into his mouth, forehead, and cheeks until he believes her))).

The day that changed everything
MLB fanfiction.
Ladrien, Marichat, Ladynoir, Adrianette
Part 20. Old habits
The lights from the lanterns flew up over the lake and exploded, scattering endless clusters of sparks like fireworks, illuminating the lake and the sky above it.
Now this was a Disney fairy tale becoming alive...
But something wasn’t right here. Ladybug saw the lanterns up close while launching them on the water. They weren’t fireworks. And if she was mistaking, why didn’t she hear any sound of explosion then?
“Mirage...” She whispered to herself. And turned to Chat Noir, who was now siting next to her enjoining the view. “Is this an illusion?” She asked.
He smiled, not turning his eyes from the sky. “It doesn't hurt to have a Ladynoir shipper with some special powers on your side.”
After a little silence Chat turned to her, peering into her face with some emotion Ladybug couldn’t really name. Expectation? Anticipation?
“Am I... winning so far?” He asked.
“Winning?” Ladybug was confused.
“In comparison with your other dates.” He explained.
“Is that your goal?” She felt a slight prick of pain in her chest. “Winning ‘best-date’ competition?”
“My goal is winning my lady’s heart.” Chat Noir’s tone was so serious, Ladybug felt her muscles going limp and a shiver running down her spine.
She was grateful to be sitting, unsure of being able to hold her body otherwise.
Was this really happening? Did he mean what he said? Chat wouldn’t play with her feelings like this, would he? And it wasn’t just a flirt of some sort. His face was calm and earnest.
“You would win it even by bringing pizza and sitting with me on my kitchen again.” Ladybug whispered, being afraid her voice would otherwise tremble.
Chat’s eyes opened wider and his lips parted. He was looking at her as if he didn't believe he heard her right. He exhaled slowly and licked his lips. His face softened, gentle smile touched his mouth.
“Then I wouldn’t be able to see the reflection of all those lights in your beautiful eyes, would I?” He said with a soft voice.
Ladybug’s chest fluttered and her heart ran faster. He was so close now. So close in her life again, so close in her mind, so close to her body, sitting here, looking in her eyes, breathing the same air with her again...
She looked at his lips still slightly open and back in his eyes. She saw he caught her eye and she knew they think the same now: it was a kissing moment. His lips moved and Ladybug thought she saw Chat moving closer to her, but his movement was cut short. He swallowed and looked away, his eyes narrowed.
Ladybug was staring at him. Speechless. Was it only in her head? Did she misinterpret the moment? Or he just never meant for them to kiss at the first place? What the ‘winning heat’ thing means then? Just to make her fall in love with him more, then she already has? Why?
No, he wouldn’t. He said he came back to stay. They would have been partners again. He wouldn’t take her on a date, the date like THIS, just... for nothing to fallow...
But he hesitated. May be... maybe she worries for nothing? Maybe Chat isn’t ready yet? Maybe he just needs more time? Maybe she needs more time as well?
“Are you hungry?” Chat Noir asked, voice coming through her thoughts like from a different planet.
Ladybug shook her doubts away, coming back to Earth, and smiled.
“Yeas, what are we having?”
**
“I love you, Marinette.” This was first thing Adrien Agrest said, when she opened the door on the knock next morning.
“Excuse me?” Marinette blinked at him, trying to understand if she woke up enough yet to hear well.
“I love you.” Adrien repeated in a tone like he was saying ‘good morning’. “Can I come in?”
“Uh..” That was not how she’d expected her morning to go. “Sure?” Marinette made a step back, letting him pass.
Marinette closed the door and turn around to face Adrien. He was just standing there, looking at her, like he was expecting for something. Her answer?
“I...” Marinette was trying to find her words with no much luck... Talk about ladybugs here. “I’m sorry Adrien, I’m in love with Chat Noir.” Why did she say this to him? She could just say something like ‘I love someone else’, or even ‘I don’t love you’...
Well, he knew she was Ladybug, and it was quite strait forward to come to her and just tell her he’d loved her, so, there. She can be strait too, it’s called honesty, duh..
“You... are?” Adrien was looking at her... amazed?
“Yes. I am.” What is even happening here? “You have to understand, Adrien, you are really important to me. I was in love with you for a long time, but... when I lost him... I understood how much he meant to me. And... I can’t... I know he might never forgive me for what I did, when.. your father was... uh... But I can’t be with someone else, even with you. I really love him. I’m sorry.” Story of her life in just few words. She sighed.
“I wasn’t sure you loved... him... that way.” Adrien said for some reason. Well. This wasn’t the reaction she’d expected.
“You thought I loved him?” How? she thought. “And you came and confessed to me anyway?”
“I think he already did. Forgive you, that is.” Adrien said. Did he just ignored her question?
“Why do you think so?” Adrien Agreste can speak from behave of Chat Noir? When did this happened? “Did he tell you something when he showed you your mother?”
“He didn’t show me my mother.”
“He didn’t? But I thought...” Didn’t Chat tell her so? Was she confusing something? Marinette couldn’t remember the exact words Chat Noir used, when he told her about it. “How did you know then?”
Adrien made a step toward her and placed his hands on her shoulders. “I’m not sure you’re ready to hear the answer on this question, Marinette.”
Electricity ran through her body as Marinette remembered Chat Noir telling her the exact same words, when she asked him, why Shadowmoth told him about his wife. She was distracted then, and didn’t pay much attention to it. But now...
It was the same expression. The same voice. The same... How didn’t she recognize it sooner?
Marinette was looking at Adrien with her eyes wide opened, while hundreds of thoughts ran through her head. But all this typhoon could be said in just one short sentence, Marinette wasn’t sure she was ready to admit to herself: Adrien was Chat Noir.
“It... it can’t be...” she said in a weak voice.
“Only if you don’t want it to be.” Adrien just said.
Marinette looked down on her shoulder where his right hand stayed. She raised her left hand and touched the ring on his finger instinctively.
“I love you, Marinette.” Adrien said again. And it wouldn’t make any sense at this point after telling her twice already. If only he didn’t mean one thing. He was talking as Chat Noir now. Chat Noir loved her. He loved her back.
“Chat...” Tears overshadowed her eyes. She couldn’t believe something that was more then obvious now.
Adrien moved closer and took her in his arms so gently, as if she was wrapped in a soft duvet.
“I’m sorry, m’Lady. For everything.” He whispered. “Please forgive me.”
She was just shaking in his arms, tires rolling down her face. Forgive? Him? Who suffered more then anyone in whole this life-story.
“Chat...” She whispered, swallowing her tears. “I love you... I love you so much... Adrien... my dear Chat Noir. I love you so, so much.”
He was holding her like this, until her breathing calm down and she was able to open her eyes and look at him again.
Adrien was looking at her with soft tender smile on his face.
“Is there enough love sparkles in my eyes, my lady?” He asked, referring to her answer on Nadja’s show.
She smiled. She only now started to realize her partner was with her all this time. On the show, and on the dates. No wonder he could read her like an open book. No wonder their thoughts coincided, as she was thinking about him the whole time!
“Enough for me.” She replied, plasing her palm on his cheek. “Are you ready to have ‘a silent promise of endless love’ then?”
Adrien’s eyes flashed with joy. “You remembered?” He asked, smiling like a boy, who just got an ice-cream.
“Old habits die hard.” Marinette said, smiling back.
“I don’t think I want them to die at all.” Adrien said, and finally kissed her.

@alwaysinstoryland i hope you like this little ladrien drabble
1: Small kisses littered across the other’s face
It’s one of those rare lazy afternoons. Everything is hushed, sleepy and slow like he’s cradled in a lullaby. Or maybe it’s just her presence that helps him to relax. Every breath she takes is a whispered caress on his skin. Her heartbeat drums against his back, beating and beating that she’s here. That she’s not going anywhere.
He’d stay entwined with her forever if she’d let him.
She runs her fingers through his hair, gloved in red and spotted black. She loves to mess up his hair.
“Hey,” she murmurs.
He keeps his eyes shut, half because he’s too tired to open them and half because he’s curious to see what she’ll do.
“Adrien.”
His eyelashes flutter and he tries to keep his breathing steady.
She shifts on the sofa, snatching the warmth from his back. It’s almost enough to make him give in and pull her back down. Almost.
“I know you’re awake.”
His lips twitch, though he quickly smooths his expression again.
“Fine.” Her lips brush his cheek, then up to his temple. “If that’s how you want to play it.”
His heart flutters faster, tugged along by her voice and scent just as much as the silky touch of her lips. She kisses his forehead, his eyebrow, his nose, all teasingly light. Not once does she go near his lips. It becomes a game to see how long he can last. Of course she wins.
“Ladybug.” His voice is husky from tiredness and his bottom lip juts into a pout.
She laughs and leans down, meeting his gaze as she trails her finger along his lips. “Not pretending to be asleep now, hrm?”
He kisses her fingertip and then leans up to kiss her. They fall back against the sofa, lazy and entwined like old threads comfortable together. Just the way he likes it.

Just a short lil chapter today!! I hope you guys likee itt!! Post-relationship Ladrien is one of my favesss hehe <3. Lemme know what you think :)
AO3
Adrien was sat at his computer, pencil tapping lightly on the desk as he looked down at his homework. He sighed quietly, his gaze drifting over to the time for probably the hundredth time that day. Ladybug was supposed to be coming over tonight. He let out a quiet sigh as he watched the minutes continue to tick by. Moving his eyes away from the clock, he dragged his gaze back over to his homework. Maybe he could at least get a few more problems solved. A warm pair of hands slowly covering his eyes stopped him in his tracks, though.
“Boo,” Ladybug whispered quietly in Adrien’s ear.
He leaned back in his desk chair before speaking, “Who is that?” he asked as a small smile spread across his face.
Ladybug giggled quietly before she leaned forward to speak softly once again, “Take a guess! I’m someone you know!”
“Hmm,” Adrien lightly tapped the bottom of his chin, pretending to contemplate his options, “Are you, perhaps, Chloé?”
“Ew,” he heard her squeal before she removed one of the hands wrapped around his eyes to swat at his shoulder, “No, I’m not Chloé!!”
“Mmm,” he hummed lightly, swiveling his chair around to face her with a large smile, “You could’ve fooled me.”
“You’re evil!” Ladybug’s sparkling blue eyes glimmered down at him as she laughed softly. She bounced lightly on her heels as she spoke, “So, did I scare you then?”
Adrien laughed, shaking his head lightly, “No! I knew it was my lovely girlfriend the second you put your arms around me! Why? Did you want to scare me?”
“Maybe,” she spoke mischievously, a secret smile playing at her lips.
With a quiet sigh, Adrien pushed himself off of the chair, wrapping her up in a tight embrace. He nuzzled into her shoulder as he murmured, “I missed you.”
“Aw!” she blushed faintly before lifting his chin slightly to brush a soft kiss to his lips, “I missed you too!”
He beamed down at her before catching her lips in another kiss. After a few seconds, he pulled back, a light frown creased his brow, “You’re late,” he whined, “I actually had to do homework while I was waiting for you to get here.”
“Oh you poor thing,” Ladybug said sarcastically, rolling her eyes with a small giggle, “I can’t imagine what that must have been like for you!” “It was terrible,” Adrien puffed out a loud breath.
Shaking her head at him again, she tugged on his wrist, pulling him over to the couch, “Well now that I’m here we can actually play video games. What was it you said during our last competition? Oh wait, I remember!” Ladybug snapped her fingers together, “You said you were actually going to beat me this time, right?”
He stuck his tongue out at her playfully, reaching for the remote as he turned on the video game. Sliding down onto the couch, he patted the spot next to him, “That’s right! I’ve been practicing this time! There’s no way I’m going to lose.”
“We’ll see about that, Agreste,” she gave him a small smirk as she took the seat directly next to him, her side brushing lightly against his, “I’ve been practicing too.”
Adrien’s mouth dropped open as he looked at her in shock, “That’s not fair! Come on, at least give me a chance,” he pouted at her.
“In your dreams,” Ladybug nudged his shoulder with hers lightly.
He gave her one last playful glare before he started the video game. Surprisingly, it was a close game, both of them played well and he managed to get Ladybug one hit away from death. Of course, he was also one hit away from death but he was still proud of getting this far. In the next few seconds of button mashing, he was unsure who won until it was revealed to them on screen.
Ladybug cheered, giving him one last beaming grin as she spoke happily, “I told you I’d win!”
Adrien scowled playfully at her, his eyes narrowing teasingly, “I declare a rematch! That match was too close!”
“Whatever makes you feel better,” she gave him one last small smirk before giggling sweetly. The two stayed like that for long into the night, merely enjoying the other’s presence as they played a few more rounds. How did I ever get so lucky? Adrien thought to himself as he peered over at the superheroine from the corner of his eye with a goofy grin.
