Water: he’s coral reef inspired. I think he’s like a surfer bro, mostly bc it’s a bit funny but all the water ghouls are sad and angsty. He’s very sweet and laid back, has a thing with earth and air, they’re their own little throuple and they’re very important to me. Absolute himbo, air headed, really funny. Bring some light into the first round of ghouls between alpha and omegas weird possessiveness thing I think they had, air being a grumpy asshole (/aff) and earth just trying to hold everything together. He’s a sweetie.

Lake and River: I think they come as a pair once River comes along. They’re insanely possessive over each other, to the point where they don’t allow the other to be with anyone else unless their partner is there. It … it could be toxic but they’re both extremely into it so it’s fine. They’re rarely without each other.

Lake is much lighter, I think like shaggy blonde hair and dark blue eyes. All smiles. He’s the kind of guy to hum while he’s doing things. Obviously worked under water and I think some of that carefree attitude rubbed off on him.

River however is darker. Long straight pitch black hair. Piercing light blue eyes. Stubble. He’s fucking gorgeous. Lake is so very infatuated with him on first sight. Cw: slight angst, incorrect Ghost lore/ghoul summons

Mist being the one to greet new water ghoul summons after they're summoned.

The ministry knows that ghouls come from the nearest large source of their element. They know for earth ghouls that they come from the ground around the ministry, fire ghouls come from the candles in the summon room, air ghousl come from the air around the ministry, multi ghouls just appear in the room due to the mix of all the elements in/around the room, and quintessence ghouls come from the matter/energy surrounding/in the ministry. But they don't know where the water ghouls come from. Somehow, the water ghouls just find their way to the ministry from wherever they come from.

They try filling tubs and the ministry's pool with fresh water, but no ghouls appear. What they don't know is that there is a cave with a large pond/lake in it. The water in that pond/lake is heavily infused with magic. Mist, the only water ghoul(ette), once she retired, had found her way back to the cave and started living there. She made her way back to the ministry every now and then so that the others knew she was still around.

Chain knows that she is there as he often visits her in the cave. She was there for River and Lake's summons. She showed them how to breathe through their mouth/nose/lungs instead of their gills. She also showed them how to walk on land without the bouyouncy of water. She even gave them their names.

She names and teaches every water ghoul that comes to the surface. Once she's done her piece, she tells them the way to the ministry. One of her favorites to teach was Dew. He was calm until the moment he was able to walk. He was spooked by everything his feet touched that wasn't dirt or sand.

She spent a little bit of extra time teaching him how to walk. Ever seen those videos of babies holding their legs above grass? That was Dew. Dew hated anything new that touched his feet so much that Mist just gave him her Crocs (they almost fit him).

Dew came to Mist the moment he could move after his transition from water to fire. Dew was so upset that he could no longer swim deep in the pond/lake with her. The fact that he couldn't do what made him him is what started his firey and short temper. What made it worse is when Rain was summoned.

To Dew, it felt like because he was no longer a water ghoul, he had been replaced because he was now inadequate and simply irritating to the members of the clergy. Dew wasn't there in the cave for Rain's summon. In fact, he didn't go to the cave for a week. He hated the new ghoul. When he finally spoke to Mist, it was like a therapy session.

She told him that he wasn't being replaced, he wasn't inadequate, and most importantly, Rain wasn't to blame, and it wasn't Rain's fault he was summoned. Dew was still upset but understood what she had said. He had slowly warmed up to the new water ghoul, and he had become friends and mates with him.
