Inspired by His Girl Friday (1940) and The Great Gatsby (2013) I acquired an “American Telephone & Telegraph” Candlestick Telephone. Completely restored by a nice man in Ohio. It’s incredibly amusing to make calls on it. Called into the Mojave phone booth once with this majestic machine, what a wild ride.

Smol update on this guy

Got some diagnostics done! The headset jack works but sounds dirty. The number pad doesn't work. It only rings if there's a headset plugged in.

So I think all I gotta so is crack it open and clean up some corrosion. I think it was probably sitting somewhere damp for about 15 years. Hopefully don't have to do much soldering because I don't actually know how to do that, but could ask dad to help me!

Will update when I know more!

ive lived here a good dozen years and today only i noticed there is a little hook on the back of one of the cupboard doors. i guess thats for the potholder i had languishing in a drawer then!
