Thanks for the Birthday Wishes

Greetings, Citizens of the Universe!

Thank you so much for the birthday wishes. It’s been an exciting birthday with the simple good feelings to keep me up, along with the Great American Eclipse to provide a show for all. (I watched it on TV as I was in the part of the country that had gotten the “partial eclipse” treatment.)

(It did help that I took a hiatus from Twitter (and to a lesser extent, social media in general) to help my mood. I was becoming really down in the dumps as of late.)

So as a major thank you, I send my usual thanks to those who gave me well wishes in a variety of ways. (I also humbly thank those read the special Magnolia Month post published on that day!)

Thank you all for the wishes and may the rest of the year be as spectacular as the Eclipse!

Since I can’t really find any other way to properly end it, I just wish to humbly extend my wish that the world is in better condition next year than today. Anyone can make a difference, no matter how big and small.

One small way to sending love someone’s way and I’d like to send some towards @kitsunehawk and @zamiiz, who celebrated their days recently. (If you follow me on Twitter, a good portion of this sounds familiar.)

Kitsune Hawk runs the fantastic Character Development series on YouTube, which is full of fascinating trivia about your favorite video game characters. He even has special episodes relating to Okami, Punch-Out, and Fire Emblem series, along with a sister series called Caricature Development that explores how a topic is covered through gaming in general. If that sounds like your thing, give those shows a shot.

Zamiiz is a fantastic artist who has graced the Internet with her fun use of colors, sense of humor, and expressive style. Her work, as shownhere and here, showcases her combined talents and skills to jaw-dropping effect. What really shows her stuff (in my opinion) is her vampire-themed webcomic Basin Vale. It may be on hiatus at the moment, but that just means it’s the perfect time to catch up on updates (and they are a treat for the eyes and senses – some of them are full-fledged Flash animations!). Of course, I may be biased towards this project partially because it was how I got into Zamiiz and her work in general. If you want to keep up with news and other updates regarding the comic, you can do so on Tumblr and DeviantArt.

In any case, thank you all for being you all! Sparkle like diamonds in the days ahead.
