Stardew Characters' Spirit's Eve Costumes

This is a repost of a post from my old blog from a few years ago!

Happy Halloween / Spirit's Eve / Blessed Samhain / whatever you may celebrate today! Many people dress up in costume for this holiday - what might the residents of Stardew Valley be dressed as this year? (note: there are a few costumes of characters that likely wouldn't exist in the Stardew Valley universe, but I believe that if they did, it would be a likely fit for certain peoples' costumes.)

Abigail: Westley (from The Princess Bride)

Alex: a zombie, maybe even a zombie gridball player

Caroline: a witch

Clint: a ghost (white sheet style)

Demetrius: Gomez Addams (from The Addams Family)

Dwarf: likely doesn't celebrate the holiday (due to not following many human customs), and therefore wouldn't dress up

Elliott: Howl Pendragon (from Howl's Moving Castle)

Emily: A ghost, but full out with a - historically accurate - dress recreation from 170 years ago, white face/body paint, and shimmer powder

Evelyn: The Bride of Frankenstein

George: Frankenstein's monster

Gus: A stereotypical summer tourist (including a bum bag/fanny pack, white face paint as nose sunscreen, a floral shirt, and a far too large sunhat)

Wizard: doesn't dress up, but simply by nature of being a wizard, he is dressed as a wizard

Super random! In the version where Seb and Kimi are an item with Kimi and the rehab pack, Kimi meets Leah, and is kinda annoyed that neither Nico or this quarter Finnish pup speak any Finnish. So naturally whenever Seb is babysitting, he starts teaching Leah Finnish, and being a clever kid she picks it up super easily. Queue extremely confused Lewis and Nico when one day when grandpa Keke calls and Leah starts babbling to him in fluent Finnish.

Kimi being pissed at Nico for not speaking Finnish to Leah hahaha he’s like „you chose german over finnish“ *disapproving kimi stare* so he takes it into his own hands!

I also absolutely adore the idea of Kimi and Seb babysitting for Nico and Lewis!!!!!! And since their kiddos definitely speak finnish, Leah learns super quickly as they play together… she is truly a polyglot queen.

🍨 Stardudes Favorite Desserts 🍨

Alex

Despite working at the ice cream stand, he doesn't particularly like ice cream, but he enthusiastically shares suggestions for flavors based on your mood or preferences.  

Alex is grateful that the owner lets him experiment with flavors. His latest creation? Pancake ice cream!!! Buttermilk ice cream with maple syrup and chunks of chocolate covered bacon. Oh yeah! Who doesn’t love breakfast?

Evelyn's desserts are the best in the world. He has a very "YOU-CAN-FIGHT-ME-if-you-disagree" mentality about it. He's uber protective of his Granny.

Chocolate chip is his fave. He won't even look at someone else's cookies, but if you're friends with both Evelyn and Alex, he would invite the Farmer to join a baking session. He would purposely throw flour in your hair to be playful. 

As a kid, Alex recalls sitting in the kitchen and enjoying a cookie and milk after school. Evelyn would kindly ask about his day and sweep the crumbs off his shirt when he was done.

If in a romantic relationship with him, Alex would be strangely blushy if you swept crumbs off his shirt. He views it as a very caring gesture, and associates feelings of warmth and care with it.

When married to him, Alex is over the moon whenever you bake dog treats for Dusty. 

Elliott

This man knows his wines and chocolates. Every chocolate has the perfect pairing. White chocolate and Moscato. Milk chocolate and Pinot Noir. Dark chocolate and Merlot. 

Really loves chocolate covered pomegranate seeds. Any kind of chocolate covered fruit really. If you dance with him at the Flower Festival, he will send you chocolate covered strawberry as a thank you. 

Leah talked him into painting with chocolate once. It was a messy experience. Watch the hair! Never again. 

He savors every experience. He never eats fast. Each bite of exceptional chocolate is followed by a happy little hum. 

Is actively petitioning Mayor Lewis for a Stardew Chocolate Festival. If in a relationship with the farmer, he would recommend their chocolate covered fruits and nuts, and suggest chocolate infused honey. 

In the fall, he craves your pomegranate crisp. Would borrow an ice cream maker from Marnie to churn homemade fresh vanilla to go with this famous dessert. Probably called Willy over to help. He would show up at the farm, puffing hair out of his face, and surprise you with the dessert. 

Harvey

Likes a little mandel bread with his morning coffee. A crisp, twice-baked Jewish cookie like biscotti. He pulls the cookie out of the jar, and nibbles on it while waiting for his coffee to brew. A delightful morning ritual.

His mother taught him how to make Sufganiyot (jelly-filled donuts) served around Hanukkah. Harvey pulls out his rolling pin, apron, and baking tools every year for this tradition. Then he serves the donuts down at the VA. While there he would try to cheer up Kent and Linus. His donuts are one of the only things that make them happy, and he takes pride in bringing joy to these men who served his country. 

Harvey wouldn’t keep any donuts for himself. So if there are any leftover, he will pass them out for free at the Winter Night Market. Hey, they go great with coffee. 

Closes the clinic for the day to drive to Zuzu in early winter. The city is the only place he can find the traditional Hanukkah gelt (gold coin chocolates) and candied dreidels. If in a relationship with him, he invites you along for the trip. You enjoy jazz during the road trip. He packs hot cocoa in a thermos and an extra scarf for the trip. He’s embarrassed to admit that he forgot an extra cup. You’ll have to share. (now Harvey, is that so bad?) 😉

Sam

Hands down. A root beer float guy. Any kind of soda float guy. Strawberry. Cola. Orange. Grape. Makes funny ice cream moustaches with Vincent. Jodi comes in the kitchen wondering what all the giggling is about. 

Would be genuinely so surprised that people make alcoholic root beer. His excitable little grin warms your heart. Doesn’t realize how addicting these are. Would slosh back multiples on the lake pier with Shane (who is very what-the-fizzlesticks about it). Wakes up the next day with a hangover. 

Absolutely a breakfast pastry lover. Cinnamon rolls. Muffins. Turnovers. Bagels. Croissants. Danishes. Strudels. Maple bars are, of course, his favorite. 

When he was a kid, Kent would take him out early on Saturday mornings so Jodi could sleep in. They would pick up donuts, coffee, and the newspaper. When he arrived back at the house, Sam would whistle the Reveille (the military morning bugle song) to let his mom know they arrived. Jodi hated it, but Kent was secretly so proud his son remembered the song.  

Would promise his whole class that he would bring something for the bake sale. Jodi always sighed because she wasn’t “informed,” but she made the desserts anyway. 

Sam is pretty abysmal in the kitchen, constantly distracted, missing the timer, running back to the fridge for ingredients he forgot, leaving the oven on after taking stuff out. But if you offered to make sweets with him, he would make his absolute best effort. 

An ideal date night would be making cinnamon sticks to eat with pizza drizzled with honey from your farm. If you fell asleep in his room, he would reheat a few in the morning and bring you coffee in bed.  

Sebastian

Rolls his own mochi. He gets really into it too. Spends a day picking out the best ingredients.

Makes a cooking music playlist that sounds nothing like what a normal cooking playlist would sound like. Heavy metal, some goth punk, random alternative.

Headphones on, he would cook in the middle of the night. That's when he is least likely to be disturbed. Unless of course Robin is working late on your farm. If she happens in, he gives his mom a taste.

If in a romantic relationship, Seb would invite you to join him in making mochi. And he would carry you home after you passed out at 2am, tuck you in bed, kiss you on the forehead, and leave you mochi in your freezer.

Shane

He's a quick and easy kind of guy. Cookies, candy, ice cream. Gets a good employee discount at Joja so he can stock up on his faves. Best hangover food.

Frequently patronizes Alex's stand in the summertime. The ice cream tastes better. He might even hang out for a bit and chat gridball with Alex if he has nothing better to do.

Sometimes Evelyn leaves him cookies. He likes her rocky road bites. The crunchy sweetness is delicious.

Egg custard tarts are a favorite of his. Best with fresh eggs from the Ranch. Every year Marnie makes it for Shane on his birthday.

If in a romantic relationship with him, he would learn how to hand crank ice cream just for you, with fresh cream from Marnie's ranch and a big bag of ice from Pierre's (once Joja closes, he would get a job there).

Lance 

can’t wait until they serve stardrop sorbet at Alex’s ice cream stand. It only happens once a year. Sets his alarm extra early that morning. Shows up before they’re even open.

would be over the moon if you baked him a golden pumpkin pie. 

If in a romantic relationship, he comes home just for your kisses - it’s dessert enough. 😘 Brings you a treat from his latest travel spot. 

Magnus 

working on creating a dessert elixir - it would sweeten any poor quality food for a short time. 

anything with black licorice - even in coffee. 

definitely likes spooky treats - bat brownies, ghost marshmallows, candy corn pretzel spiders. 

bakes winter star cookies every winter. Drops sprinkles all over the kitchen. 

appreciates if the Farmer brings him sweets while he’s double checking the magical barrier. 

Victor 

has expensive taste and knows it. You can blame Olivia. 

also loves stardrop sorbet. He makes happy little sounds when he eats it. 

loves coffee-flavored desserts. Cappucino mousse is his self-declared favorite, but he enjoys coffee-flavored ice cream in the summers. 

waits in line a long time for his favorite truffle popcorn. It may not be a typical dessert, but it’s a delicious snack. 

orders tiramisu from a specific bakery in Zuzu City. If in a romantic relationship with the Farmer, he would share.

I came back from watching Elemental with my boyfriend. It was definitely a cute movie for all ages! I've been so interested in seeing it ever since I first saw the trailer for it, and my patience to see it paid off! Although the story was a little difficult to follow consistently, I still got morals out of it and that's what I look forward to most in a movie.

There's a lot to the story with lots of elements (no pun intended), so I won't bother with a long summary, but it basically shows how the fire element, Ember (Leah Lewis), falls in love with a water element, Wade (Mamoudou Athie), against her parents' wishes while she is trying to figure out her life. There are morals of connecting with people, using your talents for good, and following your heart to the areas in your life you want to build upon.

My boyfriend pointed out that the animation is really good, and I can totally agree. I mean, animating each of the individual elements on its own must be a challenge. There's a colorful cast of characters with different personalities, which Disney/Pixar always does an excellent job with, there's jokes for all ages, and this is a movie I would want to watch again several times. Thankfully, with the film out on Disney+ now, I can do that!

The only negatives I'll give is that the story was quite packed with going back and forth on different scenarios, making it a bit hard for me to follow, and that some jokes are a little crude. For example, there was one usage of the phrase "lazy ash" which I didn't find funny. I never find swearing puns funny.

Overall, though, I give this movie a solid 8/10 and would recommend it for friends and family wanting a good new Pixar movie to be entertained by. Let me know your thoughts on the movie if you've seen it!

Stardew Valley fanfic im planning! Heres what I have planned out/written so far:

Main character: Jonathan (Johnny) Pike

- 29

- He/Him

-Bisexual/Demiromantic

- 5'9"

Birthday: Fall 27(? Cant remember)

Likes: Dogs, scavanging, woodwork, simple clothing, sleep, heat/summer, music

Dislikes: Birds, small talk, cold/winter

Facts: occasionally smokes, used to have curly hair at a young age, when he lived in Zuzu city he occasionally played in a local neighborhood band, takes depression meds

Appearance: Lean but has a little bit of belly chub, dark brown hair (you can really only see its brown in the sunlight), dark brown eyes, long hair that goes down to his shoulder blades (its a bit messy, but when done properly its wavy and has a bit of volume), spotted with permanent sun spots all over but especially his arms and back, has decently sized hands and can easily grab his tools.

Everyday outfit: wears a clean white T shirt with dark blue jeans and brown boots, wears his hair either in a low pony tail, or in a messy bun

Story plot:

Jonathan woke from another nightmare, one where he kept running and running with no end, a constant dread, but no threat to be seen. Ever since his Papaw passed he felt a constant restless feeling. Finding the letter he gave to him when he was just 18, as a graduation gift, he opens it and discovers the deed to Pike Farm, residing in Stardew Valley.

Jonathan used to visit with his parents when he was younger, running around the farm and attending local events were a staple of his childhood.

Although Johnny wanted to go, there was something, or someone holding him back, but he had to go, his life in the city was miserable and his depression wasnt letting up, even with meds.

1st day

Johnny was a quiet man, but tried his best to be friendly with the red haired woman blabbering on about home renovations. Her name was Robin, another man named Lewis was suppose to have come along, but had business to attend to, so only said a quick hello before running off.

The two eventually come to a stop before an old withering home, it showed its age, but looked recently retouched.

Robin turned and smiled at the man, "So... what do you think Jonathan? I know its not much of what it used to be, but it should be livable for the time being"

Johnny knew he had to be careful with his words, "Well.. it is something alright, I think itll suit me fine for right now" he gave a polite smile, "Thanks.. Robin was it?" He inwardly cringed for already forgetting the carpenters name, but felt relief when she gave him a hearty smile,

"You'll get the hang of it, luckily this is a small town, you'll know everyone's names by the end of Summer"

He chuckled a little at the claim, considering he knew how badly he forgot things, but took the woman's words regardless.

After a few minutes of chatter, Robin checked her watch, "Shoot, I was suppose to help Demetrius with some gardening. Im so sorry Jonathan I gotta go" panic rising in her voice.

Jonathan gave the panicked woman an assured smile, "its alright Robin, I have things to do anyway, thank you for you help"

She sighed in relief, and quickly bid her goodbyes before running off.

Johnny didn't have much to pack, the heaviest thing he owned was probably the blow up mattress, but soon realized Robin and Lewis had already set up sleeping arrangements for him.

"So well for the mattress.." he scoffed as he set his stuff on the nearby table.

Deciding to take a stroll through town, he decides to leave the introductions for later, he needed some quiet time.

(Event)

Runs in Leah and Haley, who were hanging out near the river, taking photos with Haley gossiping about drama in the nearby town, Leah quietly listening as she whittles a small figurine.

Significant dialogue

"Yknow if it werent for the clothes you might actually be cute" before Leah could say anything to the rude girl Johnny pipes in

(After the event)

After the walk Johnny takes the path up near a ranch, where he sees a small child playing by herself, figuring her parents must be somewhere nearby, he moves along up to his farm.

The pathway up was covered in decaying logs and bushes, making it extremely difficult for the inexperienced man to get through, he eventually makes it though, and heads up to his home only with a few splinters and scratches.

Earlier he had planted the parnips Mayor Lewis gave to him, and so far everything looked okay with them. He never farmed before except for helping out his grandpa when he was younger, but he still wasnt sure what exactly he should be doing.

"Maybe I should check if theres a library.. there should be something there" he mumbled to himself as he dragged himself in the house. That would be a job for tomorrow however, the busride from Zuzu, the introduction to Lewis, Robin, Haley and Leah, planting and watering his first crop, plus the walk home; tired him out more than anything.

He lazily kicked off his boots, and climbed into the suprisingly comfy bed, he quietly hummed as he pulled the comforter over him, absorbing the comfort it gave him, despite the fact still wearing his t shirt and jeans, but thatd be a problem for tomorrow.

Was there ever a thirst trap that Nico got upset at Lewis for posting? Also, how does the pack react to Lewis' thirst traps, I imagine it's kind of like we do lol.

The pack send them around in the group chat and rate the thirst-ness from 1-10. The one with the dick outline was the group chat profile pic for a VERY short period of time once.

I think Nico would get upset about Lewis posting thirst traps when Nico himself cannot post a matching one :D They have a strict policy of keeping Leah off their social media presence, including the pregnancy. So when Nico is pregnant, and Lewis posts a thirst trap, Nico is mad at him because he can’t post his own!
