anddd now we're switching perspectives a bit, meet hades and belladonna crowe. hades is a reaper living in mourningvale with his dog, belladonna. bella passed away many years ago now, but with the help of a spellcaster she can now live on as an immortal skeleton dog!

hades was left at an orphanage in ravenwood as a newborn and spent his entire childhood there. he was always seen as the strange kid and didn't have any friends, until belladonna came along. when he was 17 he attempted to run away from the orphanage but was stopped in his tracks by a near-death experience. when the grim reaper came for the reaping and discovered a teenager- alive and well, it created an...awkward...encounter. grim took pity on the poor boy and realized he could make an opportunity out of this...one thing lead to another and hades has been working for grim ever since!

Nyon: If I had to guess… probably. Mom exaggerates, but she’s also a magnet for the bizarre. Plus, I’ve always had this birthmark, and its shape is a little too… on the nose.

Micah: I should give him a piece of my mind. It’s not fair that you’ve never met him!

Nyon: I mean, he is a busy guy.

Micah: And now he’s about to abandon another child. There might even be more out there. He’s been around forever! Wait, isn’t that your mom? Who’s she with? What happened to Layne?

Nyon: [sighs] Another patented Olive Specter secret. Seriously, she tells me nothing.

Mom is really scared. She told the Calix Order she would do anything to make Hope better. They said they were making a potion that could heal her, but they needed her to test it.

But I couldn’t let her do it alone. Hope’s my sister. We do everything together. I couldn’t let her be all alone, so I said I would do it too.

Mom didn’t want me to. She looked really mad, but I knew she was just scared. But I had to help Hope. I have to be with her, no matter what.
