i'm still in disbelief that some ex lestappies (just reading this gives dark chills) don't see absolutely anything that gives credibility to lestappen's long-built relationship, they really think that their relationship is PR or non-existent and that doesn't enter my head. i didn't even have to be showing proof to the antis that lestappen is a higher level but here we are.

People are freakimg out about lestappen lore but the real ones know that this 'lestappen lore meltdown' didnt exist before like... 2023 where they decided to be out and open??? I support you guys but... we used to be a community built on fleeting touches and literally just racing on track... where is all this content coming from!! Yall need to get a room!! I honestly think if you explained the last third of 2023 to a 2022 lestappie they would collapse to the floor. I can only hope the 2025 lestappies say the same about us 2024 lestappies.

I’ve said it before on here, but a major lestappen turning point was the 2022 championship fight. Not only were they forced to be in close proximity to one another more, but I maintain that Charles expected Max to react completely differently than he did. In early 2022 when Charles was leading the championship and Max was floundering far behind, well, Max was obviously disappointed and expressed that in the media but he also started his trend on congratulating Charles on good drives (Bahrain! When Max DNF-ed but walked up to Charles in the media pen fully dragging him away from Canal+ in order to discuss the race!) ultimately culminating in Austria 2022, where Charles snatches the win from Max but Max is the one who looks utterly radiant.

2022 is when Charles started to actually like and respect Max, but the two of them were stuck in a weird limbo for a year longer where both of them really wanted to be closer than they were but they were completely unsure how to go about it. Then the padel date happened, they started seeking each other out a deranged amount, and the rest is history. Late 2023 was the flush of a new friendship with someone you’ve wanted to click with for so long, and they’ve continued that insanity well into 2024.

all the lestappies are up in arms about this lando situation and rightly so. the side eye max was giving on the podium....(i'd be pissed if my so called friend did this on national tv but max is a bigger person than me). i was happy for lando's first win but with his antics yesterday and what he's been saying the last couple of weeks, not to mention the trump thing he's on think fucking ice again. max gave him grace and nothing but praise for his race win, shutting down the implication that the sc gave him the win and he repays it like this. our humble kings focused on themselves and how they can improve could never behave like this. lando has short man inferiority syndrome change my mind

Nahh the podium was crazy, it's not about being friends at all, its about having respect for your colleague.

Max looking at him for a while then tilting his head down and George's judging face? He knew something was not right, but Lando just kept smiling so big which is, not really nice in my opinion.

And I really don't understand how and why Max handles him as one his best friends on the grid because even recently, he said he gave his all bucket hats to Lando, he takes him to his private jet + Lando usually hangs out with Max during driver's parade, on the grid, and Lando just prefers to snap with "we are not friends. dont ever say that again."

As @valyrfia said, I believe that he's having more fun being called a wdc's friend rather than Max's friend.

I wont even talk about tr*mp case, but all in all, just thinking of how Max always encourages people, which it's George, it's not someone he usually hangs out, how Charles is nice to the other drivers, as well as when he told Tifosi to stop booing Max... You can win races and push your luck but it won't make you a good driver when you have no respect to other drivers.

i was revisiting the instagram tributes that other drivers posted for seb and it got me thinking about what they would post for max when he inevitably retires in 2028. i think lando and daniels would be funny, pierre and alexs too. not sure who would be on the grid by then but maybe liam or yuki is his teammate and they would post something too. but what has me in a chokehold is what charles’ post could be like. would he post a picture from the karting days? would he have won a championship by then and post one of the two of them from the fia gala? what would his caption be?

It has to be the Austria ‘22 Podium, could it be anything else? Even with his rudimentary (and sometimes obliviously innocent) understanding of social media, in my mind even Max is aware how iconic this moment was.

It pays to never give up on a dream.

Congrats on winning your maiden championship and ending your career on a high. You deserve it.

I like lestappen, I really do, but I don't like how some shippers talk about charles. Some of them are always undermining him in a way, like it seems like they don't take him seriously as a driver and just see him as the pretty love interest.

So the thing about the tag being full of lestappen is that it's great, but it would be better if they could also appreciate him as a driver and not just as the boyfriend who is there to just to make max happy

So, so true! There’s nothing worse than “Lestappies” who don’t respect one of the drivers and don’t see him for his talents and accomplishments as an individual. It’s beyond irritating to see Charles reduced solely to a vessel for their rpf fantasies when he is an extraordinarily gifted driver. He just got his 20th pole and never drove the fastest car in the field for more than half a season combined in all his years of F1. He’s the only non-RB driver to have finished ahead of Max on track this year. We have seen exactly what he can do when he has the machinery to rival Max.

But I think what draws most people (I hope) to Lestappen is precisely that: their individual talent and attitude towards racing are in a league of their own. They have also spent half of their lives racing each other. When they have comparable machinery, their wheel-to-wheel racing is absolutely breathtaking and peerless, and you know what? They love it too, and that’s beautiful to see.

So when I say I love seeing the Charles tag filled with Lestappen - that is what I mean: to be close to each other on track so that we have just the glimmer of hope of seeing them fight - like Silverstone 2019, Bahrain 2022, and Saudi Arabia 2022 - even though we have been denied so far this season (thanks Ferrari). Because when Max and Charles are together, fighting lap after lap, their incredible talent really shines through and we all win as F1 fans.

“What are you thinking about, love?” Max asked, opening a can of Red Bull, when he saw Charles sitting on a bar stool in the kitchen, fully zoned out. Charles took a long, deep breath, making Max furrow his brows with concern.

“I'm just... Tired,” came the short reply instead of something longer and more detailed Max was preparing for. He left his Red Bull on the kitchen island and went to the other side of it and put his hands on Charles' shoulders.

“Maybe a massage can help,” Max offered, starting to work on Charles' muscles but his boyfriend shook his head and leaned further to put his elbows on the island and bury his face into his hands.

“It's n—I'm not physically tired,” he mumbled.

“Oh.”

“It's just... I don't even know.”

“You can of course talk to me about it, Charlie,” Max said while caressing his boyfriend's back. “I do not want you to hold back things because you think I do not care about them. I care about y—.”

“I'm tired of Ferrari,” Carles said, not letting Max finish his sentence. “I'm tired of being Il Predestinato and I'm tired of always fucking up and I'm tired of not having one single race where everything works and we win and I'm tired of always doing my best but never being good enough and I'm also tired of always just saying that the next year will be ours. No, it won't be. It hasn't been ours in the past God knows how many years either for fucks sake!” Carles raged, slapping the surface of the kitchen island with such a great force the sound made Max twitch. “Fucking shit,” Charles muttered under his breath, feeling his palm burn and tears filling his eyes.

“Hey, Charlie,” Max said, trying to get Charles' attention, “Baby, come here,” he guided Charles into a hug when he heard and saw that he was about to cry.

“Being titled as the Predestined was such an honor because everyone knows that I live and breathe Ferrari but... But it just doesn't work for us together,” Charles said between sobs, burying his face into Max's chest as his boyfriend was holding him close, caressing his back and kissing his hair. “Ferrari is my everything but I'm tired, I'm so fucking tired I can't do this anymore, I can't, Max. I'm tired of pretending that I can and want to continue this shitshow.”

“You can... You can stop pretending now,” Max murmured and Charles's body stiffened before the first loud sob appeared, making his body tremble. “It is of course good to let it out and it is okay to cry so you can cry. I will hold you and then we can talk about this.”

Max was familiar with Charles's struggles with Ferrari and its incompetence and he was surprised Charles was able to hold it together for years and not break down sooner. Max was impressed and worried at the same time because Ferrari wasn't a healthy environment anymore and Charles needed to go if he didn't want to suffer anymore. And now it wasn't just a joke anymore. It was serious.

“We can find another seat for you,” Max said when Charles's sobbing died down after a few minutes.

“What another seat, Max?” Charles asked in disbelief, wet sniffles showing that the worst part was over and he was about to calm down completely. “Lewis has just signed for another few years, and I—I don't want to be a second driver next to you. I want to race and—and I want to win and both of us in the same team is not a good idea.” Max nodded, thinking about what to say because Charles was right but Max still wanted to save him before Ferrari completely destroys him.

“We of course have to look at your options,” Max said, wiping Charles' tears off and then holding his face in his hand, “You are an amazing driver, talented, funny, and you have a lot of fans which is good for marketing and you are of course world champion material, Charles. Ferrari does not appreciate you and it is now time to take a step and leave them to their bullshit. I do not want them to destroy your mental health. I'm worried about you.”

“I don't—I don't know what options I have.”

“We should rest a bit and then sort your thoughts through to see how you feel when you are not distressed. Maybe a call with your therapist could also help.”

Charles nodded. “I need an appointment.”

“It is okay, love,” Max said, kissing Charles' forehead, “Make one, and then we can cuddle on the couch and you can sleep.”

“Y-yeah, okay,” Charles nodded, taking a deep breath before fishing his phone out of his pocket.

While Charles was on the phone, Max filled a glass of water for Charles and then drank the rest of his Red Bull.

“I got one for tomorrow. Video call.”

“Good,” Max smiled, handing the glass to Charles, “Now drink this because you need to hydrate.”

“Says the one that drinks more Red Bull than water.”

“That is not true!” Max protested, “Brad would kill me if I drank more Red Bull than water.”

“I'm joking, Chèri,” Charles smiled, tears making his eyes shine, and gave a quick kiss to Max before drinking the water and placing the glass on the counter.

“I know, love. Now let's go to the couch,” Max said, his hand sliding onto Charles's waist, guiding him to the living room.

When Max lay down on the couch, he pulled Charles on top of him. It took them a few seconds to find the most comfortable position but after that, it was just right; a pillow under Max's neck to support it, Charles lying on the top of him, his head on Max's chest, right over his softly thumping heart.

“Ferrari is my everything,” Charles whispered, “my heart, my soul.”

“I know, love,” Max said, softly, while massaging Charles's scalp to comfort him.

“I don't want to betray them. They gave me this opportunity, they believed in me enough to give me an eight-year contract, Max. This... This is not something you just throw away.”

“Charlie, I know how important Ferrari is for you but you're not the first driver that gets his carrier destroyed by them. I know Ferrari is one of the most important teams in Formula 1 and I of course know it has a history but it is also important to think about you, as an individual, because your mental health is important. If you are depressed you cannot perform as good as you could if you were mentally healthy. Is it worth being a Ferrari driver if your team lets you down almost every time and always just promises that the next year will be better and you feel like you cannot do this anymore?”

They both knew the answer but none of them said it.

“I want to bring Ferrari back to the top where they belong,” Charles started to draw shapes on Max's upper arm, “I can't just say ‘thanks I'm out I can't do this anymore’. They believe in me.”

“But they do not see themselves, Charles. They're a meme on the internet. This team has serious problems you can't solve, love. These problems are not because of you but they affect you. And now you are here, needing serious therapy. You have to think about yourself, Charles. You cannot always put the team before yourself. You have to be selfish for once.”

Charles shook his head and closed his eyes, hoping the tears won't find a way for themselves this way. He was wrong because in the next moment, a single teardrop was sliding down on his cheek, landing on Max's white T-shirt, and then it was followed by more. Max didn't say anything. He has already said more than enough, it was up to Charles to decide what he'll do. Max was going to be there for him, holding him no matter what.

Charles was lying on Max's chest, listening to the calm beats under his ear, letting the tears fall until there wasn't any left. There was only one thought in his mind:

I'll give my blood, sweat, and tears for this.

It seems Lorenzo's destined to be surrounded with stars, bright young bursts of brilliances who burn themselves and everyone around them out. He'd had a lifetime taking care of them, so he knows when Arthur is too brash, pent up anger after a bad race, or Charles burying every disappointment inside and coming out with a smile that doesn't reach his eyes, exactly what they need and how to be there for them. Max fitted himself right in -- as if needing an older brother figure to be proud of him.

It had been the end of season yacht parties, Lorenzo had been looking for Charles and Max had bumped into him thinking he was Charles, grabbing onto his shoulders for balance. And then the distinct note of interest when he realized he wasn't Charles.

It had been interesting, someone Max's age -- his own younger brother's age, he tried to ignore -- was so invested in romancing him instead of the usual hookup culture, instead of quickies in a hospitality room, it was candlelit dinners and ice skating rinks. Before long, there was Max on his lap as he was carding his hair looking at him with dark eyes, like he wanted to eat him. It made him shiver, that open desire. Like he wanted to dig his teeth in the soft flesh of his thigh and leave his mark. Max would turn at the Ferrari crowd scanning for Lorenzo, who had his priorities for Charles always. But when the Redbull found itself on the podium every weekend and champagne was sprayed on his end of the crowd, he couldn't be too upset with the result.

Charles could never know. He would see it as nothing short of a betrayal. Arthur already does, slamming the door shut pointedly loud after seeing Lorenzo on the couch, Max on his lap, grinning like a winner.

Arthur was brash. Pent up aggression and none of his brothers' gentleness, the ability to think before speaking. It makes him more fun, more fun for Max anyway.

"How does it feel getting two championships gifted to you?" Arthur whispers harshly in his ear, shoving a knee between this leg, pressing down insistently. "How does it feel taking things that don't belong to you?"

Max wants to laugh. Fucking Merc fans, man. And from a Ferrari Academy kid too. It's a good thing Max isn't a fucking narc. Arthur's nipping at his neck, and Max pulls him off by grabbing his hair -- forcing him to eye contact, limbs entangled with those close they're standing, tenting in their respective team polos and jeans.

"Maybe your brothers should put up more of a fight then." Max grins at him, not at all kindly, watching Arthur's pretty features much like his brother's twist into displeasure, eyes dark. "Make it harder for me to take things from them." Max taunts him, because he's never had a little brother and Lando gets scared if Max tries to bully him. It's easy to rile up Arthur, who has a jealous claim -- angry at the behest of an ignorant Charles -- over Max showing up and Lorenzo refuses to intervene — he's the Swiss flag of leaving them fight it out. Ha, maybe he should ask Charles the difference between the flag of Monaco and Switzerland next.

Arthur is all teeth when they close the gap between them. Clawing at Max for a win, nails digging deep and pushing up against him backing him into the wall, as Max grabs his ass.

i think i'm just going to start my summer break early now that i've blocked a few more people and really curated my dash.

i obviously hope lando has an amazing home race of course (hope jenson's manifestations work out for him) and i'll be following along on my dash for updates but idk i don't have any more energy to waste on the bullshit that is f1 media and fandom this week

but idk lando can't win regardless of what he does on or off track and it's so tiring.

he's literally coming off a dnf that max was at-fault for and penalized for (and half the people trying to use other pundits and drivers to jump to max's defense are taking other's quotes out of context. nowhere did jenson say max didn't deserve a penalty, he said he didn't deserve a penalty harsher than the one he got. daniel and several other drivers straight up admitted in their statements that they hadn't even seen the incident 💀). he said some things in the heat of the moment and apologized for them. somehow he still got canceled by max fans "for thinking max was just going to hand him wins." max comes out with his own statement word-for-word supporting everything lando just said — and somehow it's disrespectful when lando says it but "mind games to get under lando's skin" when max says it. and now somehow we've reached this conclusion that lando just isn't wdc material since he can't put aside his friendship and actually stand up to max and i just??? just a few days ago you guys were calling him abusive and weak-willed for asking for an apology lest "he end his friendship with max" (which was also a misquote where the media tried to translate an english quote into italian and then back into english, lando never said anything about ending their friendship altogether last weekend), so which is it, is he this big bad bully or this shaking chihuahua to max because i can't keep up with the narrative changing literally every hour at this point

anyway those fans (and it's not even max fans exclusively it's usually the lando-hating lestappies who apparently missed like every lestappen on-track battle prior to 2022 insisting lando can't race wheel-to-wheel and we need charles' superior racecraft back but if i comment on that claim with the lestappen battles prior to 2022 when max couldn't pull the "yield or we crash" strategy because he was trying to recover from 2 dnfs, i'll get myself in trouble) have already kind of ruined this weekend for me because it doesn't even matter what he does on track. he could win, he could flop, he could get a podium, he could dnf — they're going to find something to pick him apart over anyway. so like best of luck to lando but i simply cannot lol

here we are. the 2024 season is officially starting‼️‼️‼️💥💥💥 and so is my first ever full f1 season 🥺🥺🥺💘💘💘 i mean tbf i did follow f1 already at the first 2 races in 23 but still!!! i didn't watch them!!! and now i will!!! oh my god!!!

so, my goal for this year is to be less stressed, bc honestly, it was really getting to me 💔💔💔 and i don't want to rely on a dutch guy winning in a sport for all of my happiness... i would like to enjoy the sport more, even if max doesn't win (which... will happen eventually. i am writing this before the race idek if he wins this one!! he might not!!) ‼️‼️‼️🥰🥰🥰 so: enjoy the SPORT more, which is important i think 💘💘💘✨✨🌷🌷🌷 we will see how it goes!! but this was a very important life lesson for me: i will still love max, even if he loses. him losing doesn't make me love him any less 🥺🥺🥺🥺
