Hallo !
I've started to notice a pattern in the hk community.
When people (not all but most) draw pk ,in bug or gijinka, they tend to hide his pretty wings or not draw them at all.
So I've decided to ask bloggers if they could show or describe the king's wings, just out of curiosity (and for my own amusement)
(Btw if you are not taking requests please forgive me, I did not wish to annoy you with my silly babbles)
Well, the pattern seems to arise from the game itself as we never see the Pale King with his wings. (Unless you believe the theory that the PK's robe ARE his wings) The only time we see the PK with wings would be in Origm's dreams as the White Defender...and the PK is far away as a light silhouette.
If artists were to draw the PK, they would not have good canon references for the PK's wings. They would be forced to rely on the dream sequence (again, a silhouette), the Hallownestian crest/seals, and the Monarch wings when Little Knight uses them. If the artist wants any references or inspiration for drawing the PK with wings, they will need to look at other fanart.
How do I know this? Only had to go through the whole process myself while creating this.
Tumblr media
I had an idea to make Lurien a Blue Morpho Butterfly, so it was fun to draw him and the PK together with their wings. If you want to see more Lurien as a butterfly, click on the link.
I must say that I've come a long way since December with this photo. Thank you for giving me the chance to practice my drawing and editing skills!
(No need for forgiveness. I am quite honored that you asked me to do this as I mostly draw Lurien the Watcher, not the Pale King. I think this was the first time I ever drew the PK as a "bug", so it was quite the experience on top of practicing hands and lighting. Thank you!)

Made a lil painting study of a photo I took at an intersection near where I live. It's fascinating how a shift in light can transform the ordinary, like this warehouse building I usually pass without a second glance, into something magical.

Color studies pt 2! The prior batch came from film stills, so I headed to Art Station this time to look at environment illustrations. All images on the left come from the following artists:
Alena Aenami
Denis Wipart
SiChen Wang
Anastasia Shestak
Obviously they are extremely skilled, so please go shower them in praise. My copies are waaaaaaay over-rendered, so when I start the final batch I'm going to be setting a timer and stopping at 1 hr as instructed. It's taking significantly more brainpower than I had anticipated to manually match color. For some reason I find this fairly easy with traditionally media, but digitally it's so much harder. I also continue to be surprised at how relative color is, and how minute shifts in hue/value/saturation can look wildly different in context in an image. These studies come from a Schoolism Course on Light and Color by Nathan Fowkes.

Ghumpori (2025)
Ghumpori: A Love Story Defined by Yearning
Tumblr media
Download the full movie from here: Clilck Me
Featuring Pritom, Tanjin Tisha, and Parsha, Ghumpori is a captivating exploration of love and longing, woven into a beautifully crafted narrative.
The best on-screen love stories often thrive on their ability to be completely fictional, free from the constraints of relatability. Audiences don’t remember the mundane tales of a couple that breaks up, only to realize their true feelings later. A love story’s core should be one thing — love itself. Ghumpori, a Chorki original film, perfectly embodies this essence.
The film follows Megh (Pritom Hasan), a struggling tutor doing his best to get by, and his devotion to the chronically ill Jyoti (Tanjin Tisha). At the same time, Megh’s student, Usha (Parsha Mahjabeen Purnee), quietly harbors feelings for her tutor. What unfolds is a poignant journey of passion and yearning.
Set in the present, Jyoti is critically ill, while Usha, now a doctor, tends to her. Despite the mounting tragedy, Megh does everything in his power to remain by Jyoti’s side. The narrative is divided into three parts, each exploring the perspectives of Megh, Jyoti, and Usha.
Ghumpori is a film for those seeking an escape into the realm of fiction. It draws inspiration from Humayun Ahmed’s Opekkha, a novel that, like the film, delves into anticipation and the power of hopeful longing. Even when the outcome seems inevitable, one still holds onto the hope for a miraculous twist.
The Magic Lies in the Details
Megh starts his day in a brightly lit room, basking in the warmth and vibrancy of the space. This contrasts with the opposite side of the room, where Jyoti lies unconscious, her breathing labored and the monitor’s irregular beeps filling the silence. The mood quickly becomes heavier.
As Megh urgently calls for a doctor, the scene shifts, and soon a doctor enters, accompanied by someone from Megh’s past — Usha, the one he left without explanation. Their eyes meet, a fleeting moment of unspoken connection before a tear falls for Jyoti.
The film’s magic lies in these quiet, intimate moments and the minute details. Though no words are exchanged, the audience intuitively understands the complex ties that bind the three characters.
The language in Ghumpori is as poetic as the visuals themselves. It echoes the grandeur of classic Bangla literature, giving the film a theatrical aura. In a key moment towards the end, Megh delivers a powerful line to Usha, which, loosely translated, conveys how humans endure through longing, and longing thrives on hope.
The background score, especially tracks like Mondo Hotona by Antu Dash, further elevates the emotional depth of the story.
A Story Told Through Light
What truly distinguishes Ghumpori is its exceptional use of light. The soft, golden tones representing the past evoke warmth and nostalgia, particularly during Megh and Jyoti’s university days. In stark contrast, Jyoti’s present is cast in a cold blue, signifying her frozen state in time. One side of her bed remains blue, while the other retains hints of color, signifying that her memories continue to live on. Megh’s red sweater further emphasizes the enduring love he holds for Jyoti.
Although the film’s pace is slow, its captivating cinematography and storytelling ensure that the audience remains engaged. Even though the ending may feel predictable, the audience is still emotionally invested in Megh, Jyoti, and Usha until the very last frame.
The Power of a Simple Story
Ghumpori celebrates the notion that love isn’t always neatly defined. You don’t need a formal relationship to be in love with someone. It brings back a type of love that feels old-fashioned — where two people simply enjoy each other’s presence, share conversations, stroll together, or take rickshaw rides. Simple, yet profoundly moving.
Even though the film features a love triangle, the relationships are kept refreshingly uncomplicated. Viewers won’t find themselves picking sides between the two women. Instead, the desire for all three characters is simply for them to find peace.
It would be remiss to discuss the film without acknowledging the actors who brought these characters to life. Pritom Hasan shines as Megh, subtly conveying his quiet sorrow for Jyoti and his transformation from a university student to someone who would do anything for a woman he never even spoke to.
Parsha Mahjabeen Purnee excels as Usha, capturing her evolution from a hopelessly infatuated young woman to someone who learns to treasure her love as something uniquely personal.
Tanjin Tisha’s portrayal of Jyoti, though central to the narrative, is best appreciated through the perspectives of those around her.
