trying new coloring methods. 0/10 do NOT recommend, but hey at least i got something kinda okay out of it

#this was based on a sketch i posted a few days ago cuz i didnt have any ideas for compositions #-and i wanted to try a new rendering method i saw on youtube #the method btw is to start in greyscale so you can get the values right before using the curves tool to adjust colors #i ended up hating it though because my colors always wound up feeling basic #i think it works better in lighting situations where the light’s color is neutral #i used a bunch of gradient maps and overlay layers to try and fix it bc it was looking VERY muddy and weird #and i think i did successfully save it after a lot of frustration #but i will likely not be trying this method again cause i like using funky lighting and colors #art #fanart #digital art #dc comics #tim drake fanart #tim drake robin #tim drake #red robin fanart #robin fanart #dc robin #robin #red robin

watching the sdcc panel and i am just very :) about how sweet their answers to “what are some of the micro moments from the game that have stuck with you the most over the years?” are. taliesin saying what the fuck is up with that which was the first like The Party Gets To Know Each Other moments of c3. travis saying asking his wife if he could kiss her in campaign. marisha going way back to the cannonball competition in campaign one. ashley choosing the beauyasha date but also just the silly goat noise matt made. liam adding onto that to compliment matt roleplaying grass so well and then saying his favourite moment was writing a story for laura and reading it to her as caleb for jester. and then matt saying that was his answer, and that his favourite moments of the game are when they find ways to give gifts to each other whether tangible or not. and sam saying his favourite moments have less to do with the story and is more so when he can just. see his friends across the table from him. when marisha perches and when laura and ashley are (badly) drawing dicks and liam saying he loves when sam sneezes and ashley tells him to stop it and just. yeah. they Are an extremely popular online powerhouse, but i’m so happy that they’re also friends building a world together out of gifts to and love for one another.

like i Am so enamoured with the characters and the world of exandria but the moments when you can feel the love that those people have for each other reach out from behind the stained glass of their performances (to steal a metaphor from brennan lee mulligan) are so extremely special and i am endlessly grateful that they decided to share their silly little home game with the world.

#it’s just the. laura and travis’ characters always being supportive of one another when they’re facing hardship #taliesin and marisha consistently making characters who challenge one another and still protect each other relentlessly #all of them being so fond of ashley’s characters always and literally seeing them light up in c1 episodes when ash got to join in person #sam and liam always making characters who offer one another reprieves into kindness that they don’t always get in the campaign setting #liam making orym after falling in love with keyleth as vax #marisha making laudna after matt’s storytelling with delilah and choosing vex as her body double #ashley using ‘i would like to rage’ and matt having kord ask her where she finds her strength #laura and matt always weaving these deeply complicated and emotional interactions between a daughter and a father #the gasps and yells and clapping when matt makes cool sound effects or reveals a map or breaks/ends on a cliff hanger #them ending both campaign 1 and 2 with ‘what a great/nice story’ and travis saying ‘let’s do it again!’#and it’s like. yes yes i love the comics and i’m a fan of tlovm but . seeing this well produced thing that somehow mimics #the feeling i get sitting in my living room laughing with my roommates about my ranger’s giant rat failing to climb stairs #it’s very special it’s very sweet #critical role #sdcc 2023 #taliesin jaffe #travis willingham #marisha ray #ashley johnson #liam o’brien #matthew mercer #laura bailey #sam riegel #cr cast #critical role cast #my posts

Not sure if it has made it your way, but if you have a Grand mental health (grand really is there name) you might check it out if you're up to it. They do a sliding scale for people without insurance. My fiance makes around $18/hr and gets services for free and only has a $1 co-pay for his meds.

(lots of writing under the ‘read more’ btw incase you want my personal thoughts on things!)

Before the episode started I has been bracing myself for the genocide route, but it seem like what we ended up getting was the pacifist route because NEVER would I have anticipated such an empathetic twist??? I was dead convinced that my hopes/dreams of Puzzle redemption were squandered and left to rot (they probably still are to some degree actually lol but oh well I can accept that he’s a lovable psycho). And yet this episode does the impossible….giving us an unfathomably wholesome scene that helps heal his dejected inner child, even just a little. PLEASE this wasn’t something I was prepared for and it’s gotten such a strong grip on my heartstrings right now. I love themmmmm holy shittttt <33

I didn’t think Meggy would step up and try to connect with him like that especially since she was so aggressively defensive when he initially reached out. And I like that even when she gets to speak to Little/Kid Puzzles her behavior is very stern at first lol. Kinda like a disappointed older sister who can’t be bothered to put up with him for too long. But using Leggy as a way to build that bridge again was so clever of her—and hey it helped lure him into false sense of security so he’d get jailed up jskjsksp. Everyone wins I guess!! ALSO can I just say whoever composed the soundtrack (Zach Preciado for the rap segment specifically) deserves just as much praise as the voice actors because DAYM the layering of all those instruments and the seamless transitions into different emotional tones was superb :))

Entry 02

Today I managed to clear my first area and report back to the legion. They seemed surprised as I told them I managed to capture Stonecrag Kraal, and kill the Chieftan, who reeked havoc around the Cadem Forest.

Sure I got some helping claws, but I would still say that I played a big part in the success of this mission. My traps kept him busy enough, that I was able to help one soldier back up. And with some swift moves I put several of Stonecrags Warrios down.

It was a tough fight, but we succeed - making this area a little more safe for the Legion.

With this success I can't believe I nearly died to an Separatist Ambush,... also not to mentioning the Ascalonian ghost.

So note to myself: Never again touch old relics,... these might summon some grouchy old Warriors with so much spite, they throw their weapons at you. Geez

I made two more paintings,... I keep forgetting how beautiful the plains can be. Especially the old ruins. They have something,... magical.

Also found this neat patch were lots of potatoes grow. And since I'm back at the citadel for a little break, I'm maybe able to cook something nice with it.

We will see.

Tomorrow I will tackle Diessa Plateau.
