Ykno what's somehow more annoying than a kpop stan? A kpop SNOB.

One of the employees (who's actually leaving soon, thank god) has been a kpop fan since like 2nd gen. And she makes it KNOWN. Somehow has "stanned" like every popular group in existence. Mentioned that she stanned stray kids until the song Double Knot came out & pissed her off so much she swore off the group entirely (I guess????). Used to like bts, but mentioned that she stopped liking them bc of the fandom (which is valid I guess, but literally just don't interact with the fandom then, that's what I do with stray kids).

She pissed the bts coworker OFF tho bc bts coworker made a list of group recs for 3rd gen (not 4th gen bc she did Not want to risk the bloodbath if any of the groups weren't represented properly). In the bts section (a modest section!!! Same length as the others!!!) she included 'Dynamite' as one of her favorite songs. And the kpop snob literally PUTS A POST IT NOTE pointing to it & saying "Dynamite doesn't belong on this list"

Like WHAT???? Is it YOUR GROUP being talked about here???? No!!!! She included a lot of songs from a lot of groups (with my input for ones like shinee & mamamoo), & then put her favs from her fav group. Like. Why do you have to be so needlessly nitpicky lmao???

first up, who’s the back up? luffys mentioned the backup a few times and I cant help but wonder who it is. if thats a major spoiler than you dont have to answer but considering your love for this one guy i kinda think its sabo or the rev army. either that or like traffy. it would be funny if it was sabo though because of koby’s brief jealousy of how luffy was talking about him.

this might be just me as an aot fan overanalyzing everything but I feel like that devil fruit in the beginning was something important and so was the auction in broad daylight.

also ive seen a lot of fics where kobys favorite food is buttered potatoes but i think yours is the first where his favorite food is downright plain butter. the guys a psychopath for that. like why would you do that. where did you even get the idea.

does helhippo realize he likes bryan or no? also i really came into the fic thinking I wasnt gonna give a crap about him but somehow you made me like him a lot so kudos to you. his relationship with bryan is so rivals to lovers coded and thats one of my favorite tropes. I really do hope helhippo lives up to his promise and takes bryan to the symphony. As for the RyMeppo question… I seriously never expected people to love this ship so much wtf. In Chapter 5, Helmeppo is completely unaware of his very obvious crush on (B)Ryan. He thinks he hates Ryan, when it’s obvious it’s more than that. As of Chapter 10, however, the moron is 10000% aware of how he feels. He and Ryan’s relationship is really fun to write with the constant bickering/flirting. I never intended them to be a romantic relationship, but alas, that’s where it headed.

And the KobyLu questions! Yay! Koby definitely fell first and he fell hard—don’t think anyone could fall harder if they tried. As for Luff: he knows how he feels about Koby. Buddy went to Sanji’s school of flirting and failed the classes spectacularly yet tried showing off his grades to Koby. He’s made it very clear how he feels—Koby, unfortunately, is just too damn dense. Luffy could yell “I LOVE YOU” to Koby and he would probably think Luffy meant platonically. He gets his density from me, of course, I’m the exact same way.

The first few times you try to cuddle him, he might flat out kick you from the bed and on the floor.

Especially if theres a switch from Liu to him while cuddling, he will shove you on the floor and roll over to sleep

The first time you guys actually cuddle is definitely after doing the deed

If you can manage to keep up and tire him out, he'd be to lazy to shove you from the bed or get up to leave

He turned his back to you, and you being stubborn or just plain cold after he hogged the blanket, spooned against his back

He would never admit the butterflies it gave him when you hesitantly drapped an arm over his waist, but he decided then that maybe cuddling isnt so bad

At first the most you get after that is just him allowing you to lean against him while your standing near eachother or sitting together

After a bit though, he found comfort in draping his arm around your shoulders

(It was totally because someone was hitting on you, but you wouldnt let him shank the creep so he resorted to getting handsy)

If you ask him about it he claims its because your Liu's and someone has to watch you while he's not there.

But he is really so protective and its a comfort to have you under his arm, showing anyone watching that you belong to both of them

So he loves doing a half spoon where he lays back comfortably and you cling to his side

He has his arms supporting his head while you bury yourself against his side and just give a cheeky grin to you actually wanting his affection, though he was sure its just because Liu wasnt there to give you any

If you fall asleep in that position he might drape an arm over you 👀

But only after he's sure you've fallen asleep.

Once he starts getting more attached and protective of you, he loves having you burried against his chest

The first (and hopefully last) time you tried playing with his hair he snatched your hand and damn near broke your wrist.

So really just dont touch him unless he wants you to or you know hes alright with whatever you do. He has alot of boundaries that he just wont tolerate being crossed

The last few positions he enjoys are after sex

Sometimes he'll just flop down ontop of you and pass out right there, still pressed inside you while he sleeps

i think a lot of it s figuring out what structure of making shit works for you most, and the general chronology in which u do things but as for MY process, which is shaky at best:

i either a) read a comic and save panels or b) collect some art from comic artists or c) a mixture of both which i want to work into the graphic. usually its a lot more than 9 frames which i usually go for but thats good because u have room for error if one image doesnt work. open whatever u have in ps and flick through them and think which ones would go well together in a set. eg ones with the same artist, the same style, the same costume/hair/etc. not entirely necessary but it helps narrow them down. i usually still have more than 9 by this point 

then actually start editing. the first thing i do is cut out the part of the image i want to keep and give it a solid colour fill background. this is the bit where u work on colour scheme most. some images wont work with a colour scheme you picked out previously so you make necessary changes. this can be either tweaking your colour scheme or recolouring the image which is what i do next

adjustments!!! dont want that blue tint in the blacks?? get rid of it. want the reds to be more pink?? change em. yellows looking a bit green?? fix it

repeat the last 2 steps with all the images youve narrowed it down to liking the most

then just to preemptively think about composition, i drag the canvases out of ps and arrange them on my desktop to make sure i dont have too many of the same image types (ie empty frame ones or too many full frame of the same colour etc etc) eg

(gaps are where i plan on doing typography which is usually my next step but thats more just. a feeling like how u feel a quote needs to be presented and thats the one thing i do all at once). having them set out like this also helps me decide what order im going to post them in

then for the images that i plan on using text and images for, i add the quotes, putting them back into their little test format at the side of my desktop so i can keep track of whether or not ive used too many of the same image etc etc like i said above and eventually

my whole setup will look something like this 

next comes textures which i dont necessarily do for every image, so again keep them in the test format to see which panels are missing a little depth and add texture accordingly 

then i save them individually so i can like. see them close up again before im definitely finished. the final quality check as it were. and if theyre not A grade they get thrown into the wips folder until i come back to them in about 6 years probably 

as i save them i kind of arrange them in terms of composition again just to check the final colours match and i like the ratio of text to plain. and doing that as you go along makes it so if u DO need to make any last minute changes or additions you can without having to reopen 7 frames just to compare

You had always listened to what your parents asked you to do. No questions asked. No ifs, ands, or buts. All in the chance that they’d let you decide what you would want for your future. And yet here you were sitting in a high-end restaurant waiting to meet a possible marriage partner. Your parents claimed that this was only organized because you never seemed interested in dating anyone. Which was true, but it was only because they had forbidden you from dating anyone while you were attending university. Even in the off chance that you fell for someone, you knew they’d never approve.

You sighed, sitting in the chair next to your mother. Maybe this is what you get for never standing up for anything you’ve ever wanted. When your plausible marriage partner and his father joined you at the table, you gave a fake smile and bowed.

Maybe he wouldn’t be so bad. Maybe your parents knew you well enough to suggest good suitors. When the waiter came over to take your orders, you were first. He followed up with his order. When the waiter repeated the order to all of you at the table, he forgot to list the drink of your date. Your date immediately went off on the waiter and reprimanded him. All your hopes of him being a possible candidate just went down the drain.

While the three of them were talking you could feel yourself getting bored from their bland conversations about the weather. You couldn’t help but be upset at how your parents would think that this kind of thing would ever pique your interest. In the midst of the conversation, you excused yourself from the table to go to the restroom. If you had to hear any more conversations about the marriage candidate’s pretentious bragging, you thought you’d pass out right there. When you left the bathroom, from around the corner, you could hear the man’s father say, “Your child seems like they’d be a good partner. They don’t talk much and seem pretty obedient.

Your mother chuckled, “We hope we raised them well.”

You could feel the blood inside of you boil. That was it. That was the final straw. You had enough of listening to what they thought was best for you. You slowly walked towards the back exit of the restaurant. You needed to do anything to get you out of there.

You found yourself in the hallway of the mall. The first thing you needed to do was get off this floor and fast. It’d probably only be a matter of minutes before you mother realized that you weren’t coming back. You approached the elevator, and when it opened, you saw another person already inside the elevator. He looked at you and smiled. He had short black hair, broad shoulders, and tan skin. He wore a black leather jacket and a plain white shirt underneath and carried a motorcycle helmet. He smiled at you and asked, “Which floor?”

Without looking at the floor buttons, you just said, “The same one.”

He noticed that you seemed a little anxious and asked you, “Is everything alright?”

You jumped a little and attempted to give a smile, “Huh? Yeah, everything is fine.”

The man decided not to press on the conversation, and the two of you ended up at the parking garage below the mall. The man walked towards the motorcycles parked near the elevator, and you hesitantly looked around, unsure where to go or even what to do. All your things were still in the restaurant including your wallet and your phone. Maybe your plan wasn’t as well thought out as you realized. You figured that you should probably head back to the restaurant in the chance that they hadn’t notice that you’d been gone for so long. You turned around, only to see the other elevator had opened, revealing your mother. She yelled your name, demanding you head back to the restaurant. Your eyes went wide, and you instinctually ran in the opposite direction. You heard the roar of an engine and within moments, the man from the elevator was on his motorcycle holding his helmet out for you, “Get on!”

You were shocked from his sudden appearance and breathed, “B-but I don’t know you.”

“My name is Sawamura Daichi, and I go to Y University! Is that good enough?” he replied.

You were brought back to your senses and looked behind you at your mother who was quickly approaching. You grabbed the helmet from the man and hopped onto the back of the man’s motorcycle. He commanded, “Hold on tight.”

You hesitantly wrapped your arms around his torso, but as soon as he twisted the throttle, you tightened your grip around his upper body.

It was your first time riding a motorcycle, and it was faster than you had expected. As soon as he started moving the vehicle, you closed your eyes and held onto the person in front of you as tight as you could. Daichi laughed, “You can loosen up a bit, we're at a stoplight.”

You hadn’t even realized that the motorcycle had stopped. You sighed, “Right, sorry.”

However, as soon as the stoplight turned green, you had tightened your grip on Daichi once again. You managed to keep your eyes open, and you looked at the all the glistening lights around you. It was already night time, and all the buildings turned on their neon signs and lights. This wasn’t a new sight for you, but it felt so different being on the back of a motorcycle... It felt free. 

When Daichi finally parked the motorcycle, he helped you get off the bike. Your legs were shaky from the adrenaline that was still pumping through your body. You weren’t sure if it was from riding on the motorcycle or running away from your mother, but you concluded it was both. You took off the helmet and thanked Daichi. Before you could say anything else, he asked, “You hungry?”

He pointed to a ramen stall across the street from where he parked, but you politely declined, “It’s alright. I don’t have my wallet, and I’m not really that hungry.”

Your stomach, on the other hand, grumbled… loudly. Daichi chuckled, “C’mon. It’ll be my treat.”

You followed him into the quaint food stall and sat down on one of the bar stools. The chef clearly recognized Daichi because he asked, “Your normal order?”

Daichi grinned and nodded, “Yes, please, but make it two shoyu ramens this time and one beer as well.”

“Coming right up.” the chef replied.

You looked at Daichi and said, “Are you sure you should drink if you’re going to be driving your motorcycle?”

Daichi gave a hearty laugh, “The beer isn’t for me. It’s for you. It seems like you need something to help you relax a little.”

You gave a sheepish smile, “Thank you. I promise I’ll pay you back!”

“Don’t mind.” Daichi replied.

The food was soon served, and you could feel yourself salivating at the smell. As soon as you broke your chopsticks apart, you dug right in. You burnt your tongue and yelped, “Ow!”

Daichi laughed at you, “Try blowing before you bite.”

He passed you the beer you ordered, and you gulped down some of the cold beverage. Your attention went back to your bowl of soup. As soon as you finished your noodles, you chugged the rest of your beer. Daichi was still eating his ramen when you placed your mug back onto the counter. He laughed, “And you tried to tell me you weren’t hungry.”

You could feel the beer having its effect on you, and you grinned, “I was just trying to be polite!”

He noticed your change in attitude and was glad that you were finally starting to relax a little. You sighed and propped your head on your hand, “I can’t believe this is the first time I’ve ever rebelled against my parents, and I just had to do the most extreme thing in the world.”

Daichi looked at you, confused at what you were saying, “You just rebelled now? Have you just been a filial child your whole life?”

“So filial that when I went to the bathroom at a marriage meeting, the father of my ‘potential husband’ called me ‘obedient’ and ‘quiet.’” You sighed.

“’Marriage meetings?’ Daichi repeated, “I didn’t even know they had those things for normal people anymore.”

“Sadly, my parents aren’t normal people.” You nodded and continued with your story, “You know what the worst part was? My mother agreed with him and said those qualities about me were how they raised me to be! It made me realize that she doesn’t know me at all.” You paused for a moment, “But maybe that was my fault. If I just had the courage to stand up for what I wanted at least once before today, I might’ve not ended up in this situation.”

Daichi crossed his arms and thought for a moment, “But you understand that now, don’t you? I think as long as long as realize your faults, then you still have a chance.”

You looked at him, “Do you really think so?”

Daichi chuckled, “I think the moment that you stop developing as a person is when you’re really hopeless.”

You repeated, “‘Developing as a person.’’

You gave yourself a moment to think and scowled, “You’re saying I should go back to my parents and talk to them, huh?”

“I wasn’t really aiming for that,” he laughed, “but if it’s what’s in your gut feeling, then yes. You should do it.”

You sighed, “I know.”

“Well, you don’t have to go back right away.” He chuckled, “There’s something I wanna show you that I think would make you feel better.”

Daichi put some money on the counter of the ramen stall and got up. You followed after him. He passed you his helmet to put on, and you asked, “Where are we going?”

Daichi grinned, “Just get on.”

This time around, you were much more comfortable riding behind Daichi. You were still amazed looking around at all the city lights, however after some time, you noticed that the lights were becoming less and less. Daichi parked the motorcycle, and you took off your helmet. You jokingly asked, “You’re not trying to murder me right?”

Daichi rolled his eyes and walked ahead of you, “Just follow me.”

You followed him down a path that trailed to one of the prettiest views of the skyline you had seen. You nearly gasped at the view. You asked, “How’d you find out about this place?”

“I just found it randomly one day while riding my bike.” He answered, “It’s great, isn’t it?”

“Why’d you bring me here?” you asked him, still admiring at the view.

He looked at you and couldn’t help but smile at the sight of you, ���It seemed like you needed some encouragement before facing your parents. It’s not much, but I hope it helps.”

You beamed at Daichi, “I feel like I can face the world after seeing this!”

After some time, the two of you decided it was a good time for the two of you to go back. You gave him your address to drop him off at your house.

When he reached the address, Daichi was shocked at the size of it. It was huge and was guarded with a large gate all around it. His mouth was agape, “This is where you live?”

You took his helmet off your head, “I mentioned earlier that my parents weren’t normal people.”

“I didn’t realize that this is what you meant.” He chuckled.

“Can I see your phone for a second?” you asked him.

He dug his phone from out of his pocket and passed it to you. In his notes, you typed something down and gave it to him and smiled, “I put in my number. You can text me if you’d like.”

He grabbed his phone from you and joked, “Should I call the police if I don’t get a response?”

“Maybe not the police, but you’re free to come and do a wellness check.” You grinned.

Daichi smirked, “I really wish the best for you.”

“I’d love to tell you about it the next time I see you. Does shoyu ramen again sound good?” you asked nervously.

Daichi grinned, “Sounds amazing.”

He put his helmet on his head. You waved at him as he drove away and smiled to yourself. Things may have started out pretty terrible, but something—or rather someone-- made it a day you wouldn’t trade for anything.

Just organized all the fits i have to bring for my next trip and i realized ive got like almost a hundred of new clothes i havent worn yet. I dont know, most of the time i just want to look like a plain Jane. Well i been actually getting compliments about my looks recently. But the last time I actually was tryharding to look nice and wore sexy outfits and lingerie was when I was still with Joseph, and thats been years ago. I dont know, i just dont feel like showing my body to every guy i date, you know? Like i dont care if people find me attractive and shit. I only feel like putting in effort to look more attractive to someone i really like. Unfortunately, people i really like don't come around too often. I just don't like getting unwanted attention from everyone, thats why i dont want to look more attractive to ppl who already thinks im attractive. I dont really need their validation, but i do need some kind of validation from someone i actually like. To be more specific, i'm just talking about wearing lingerie, and i feel like to wear lingerie is like an invitation for sex, so I dont wanna be wearing something like that in front of someone im not going to have sex with. Sometimes it just happens that i wear them without knowing i would be in an intimate situation with someone later, which is kind of sexy actually but still, i dont know. I just dont want to have sex with someone i'm not inlove with. Ive been thinking about this recently, because i feel like i may have been kind of attracted to someone physically and i almost had sex with him, but we didnt really end up having sex because it was too risky situation at that time LMAO and hes been waiting to have the opportunity to be intimate again but then i thought about it and I decided its not worth to put up with someone just because you want to have sex with them. Tbh, I'd rather masturbate than to put myself in a more complicated situation thats against my morals. Im proud of myself for making this decision because i know if i was younger i might have already gave in to temptation. Even though ive never had sex with anyone i've done some casual shit in the past that i shouldn't have done. I just now know that its not worth it. Atleast right now, thats how i think about it. Basically, I dont want to have sex with just anyone, i want to have sex with someone i love and genuinely care about as a partner. But with my dismissive avoidant attachment its almost impossible to me to feel genuinely inlove with people. I'm too narcissistic and independent to truely care about others as this is the coping mechanism ive learned from my lifetime of abuse and betrayal ive experienced. Ive relied on myself for a long time because i know i cant rely on others. I sabotage my relationships with every guy i date either because;

(a) i dont like them, there is no deep connection which im looking for so i eventually get bored and start to get dismissive of their feelings, i create some drama nitpicking their behavior so they can fuck off. Or;

(b) there is a special connection; i actually fell in love and my feelings have been growing stronger and its scares me because instead of my usual dismissive attitude, i am starting to make assumptions according to my insecurities so i proceed to push away this person before they even have the chance to abandon me(which im afraid to happen)

Its not something that can easily change, but atleast i am now aware of my own toxic pattern and whys that happened. I think, the solution is I just really have to be willing to trust someone 100%, to be willing to experience the enivitable pain and suffering, to be willing to see the pain from childhood in a different light. Because right now, its still hurts me. It still triggers me. I still dont trust anyone and I'm afraid of getting hurt the same way. Ive been hurt enough and i dont know if i can take more pain. Until then I am not sure when I am going to have an actual loving relationship. But its not a massive issue to me entirely, i might live like Isaac Newton, devote myself to my passions instead and live happily ever after yk? Life is not just about relationships. If anything its probably the most overrated shit that people care about.

The fact I have Brayden and Toph in my merged tribe boosts my serotonin. i have a feeling colin may be someone to keep an eye out for in the future now...

This swap actually turned out pretty amazing for me. I still have Keith and Moth who I worked semi-close with in the pre-swap. Additionally, I've met up with Colin and Babs. A little Raffy magic could keep me very safe on this tribe. I think Kenneth is super fun as he is a newbie AND active. He will definitely make it far in this game. I hope, at the very least, that I can be by his side to make that happen. However, I am wary he might just be making these strong social connections with everyone. As a final note, OG Pendragons have this tribe 4 to 8. That's both good and bad. Good because we have numbers. Bad because that may make people target me very early on just for being a part of it. So, I have decided that if I were to throw any of my OG Pendragons to the wolves it would be Jonathan as I haven't been able to connect with them as well as Keith and Moth. Other than that, I hope this tribe doesn't have to go to tribal all that often between now and the next swap/merge. These people are lovely.

I'm getting a bad feeling about this... Since most of my Jenkins tribemates are on the other tribe, I KNOW they're good cuz we just keep getting W's... so I think there is a good chance we might lose the challenge. I contributed a good amount, so I hope that the target won't be on me if ever we lose the challenge :( I really don't wanna go, and I wanna reunite with Dennis/Ellie and maybe Anastasia and get further in the game.

Look, before you go to tribal with a group of people it feels like there’s a barrier of game socialization because you haven’t been able to go to tribal with them. Unfortunately it’s an extremely simple vote because Nya has ghosted all of us, but at least we still get to go to tribal so I can talk game with more people even if it’s only a small amount with this easy vote. hmm mk is a bit of an anomaly for sure….even tho ive been sifting around webcomics for abt a decade now, i really only ever am keeping up w a handful and rarely actually pick up any new ones. i’m the same way w like, all other forms of media, like shows and music and stuff…its not like even me being all too critically picky, coz i can hardly ever convince myself to check out shit i know i do/will like. but anyways i suppose it was a couple yrs ago and me freezing my ass off in a barely-insulated terrible expensive apartment while dying of depression & it was the middle of the night & i wasnt tired, and sometimes i reread a comic coz i realize ive completely lost track of the plot or characters or something…so i was doing that and there was a guest comic by the artist for mk & i was like, well you know, thats cute and funny and i like how they draw, i’ll just put this in a separate tab and maybe come back to look at their comic for once in my life b/c its not like i hve anything better to do at like 4am. so i finished my reread and figured i’d check out at least a bit of mk & when it drops kip on you right off it took me like 2.5 pgs to he like “well so………he’s gay right? and a nerd?” and so then i was like, obviously i have to follow through on this Gay Lead. b/c i mean, you never really go into anything assuming that anybody will actually get to be Not Straight, no matter how obvious it seems b/c you can’t trust anyone. so even though its right there and makes no sense for him to be straight i was still like going along trying to keep my hopes down even tho there’s no other interpretation….even when the surprise came that he has a beautiful Ex Boyf & i had like a heart attack b/c that far along i was already like “woops i also love him” i was still like trying to come at it from some other angle like…… Maybe This Is Just… Um….. i dont remember but i was like ok but seriously this Has to be an ex right? i mean my god. anyway by that point i was also deeply invested in the fact that kip is v….v much many Char Types i love and xtreme relatable plus he’s flawless and deserves the best despite being doomed for the worst……. so anyways at that point it was like 7am & i was thrilled and yelling a bit about that sweet rare vindication of This Is All Gay Right and like gosh hope he gets kissed by like everybody…… and thats about how that went

oh god…… trying to find a sleeping position can be the worst a lot of the time. like, it changes up and i have to do the tossing and turning bit… sometimes its all huddled up and other times my body wants to be stretched out… im sabotaged by the whims of my body re its comfort tbh. like i’ll be fine in any position and then suddenly my limbs or hips or whatever decide they’re uncomfortable. the other week it was only sleeping on my stomach that was tolerable. i guess on avg i sleep on my side but theres no real standard position, i wish there was

phew i…honestly can rarely draw anything in a matter of less than hours. under 2 hours is shockingly rare. it depends on the day for sure, sometimes drawing comes more naturally, sometimes my focus is less terrible…. for a guess at whats average though, for like a usual drawing that i also add color to, i’d put it at maybe, 5-7 hrs? i’m awful at paying attention to when i start/stop something. and i have a lot of pauses in there b/c of the terrible focus bit. but usually i don’t do coloring thats too fancy so it only tends to add on a couple of hours to the lineart, which is helped along if i’m doing it digitally w how easy it is to erase stuff and not worry abt the sketch being too messy to clean up or whatever. sometimes i wish i could spend another eon on the coloring also, but you can spend just as much time on colors as the lineart and i like to do everything in one go too much for that really… plus just that i’m bad w colors and dont expect to ever be as good at them as with the lineart element of things. anyways tldr all you need to know is…i’m really slow :(

oh god snacks…. i love to eat anything really. i’ll make anything a snack or a meal or whatever. i like stuff like corn chips or just dry crackers… i like to eat cereal just plain… i’ll eat a box of corn chex any day. or a box of oreos probably in like one go. i am a fan of cookies and ice cream and everything. pretzel sticks are great too. fruit snacks are great… a few times ive just been in the mood to cut some like orange bell peppers into strips and eat that…carrots are amazing too… theres this cucumber/cream cheese dip that is…fantastic with chips. idk i like to eat most things

i actually used to tend to wait too long to get my haircut and put it off till it’d been like two months and was getting too long in the back and i hated it lol….. i know we’ve talked abt the Homophobia In The Salon how you have to try to wrangle the stylist into accepting that yes, you really want it that short, and keep them from trying to take it in their own direction. and i’m nervous enough w social stuff like that where i cant know what to say beforehand, and doubly nervous b/c of it being really stressful and exhausting for me to try to just like stick to what you actually want and explain this very simple cut to ppl who sometimes will act like they have no idea what you mean…and it would be triply difficult b/c back in the day i’d catch all this shit over having my hair as short as i wanted b/c my mom was having a whole internal shitstorm about me being a wholeass queer and so of course she was gonna flip out about how i look as if that will solve things for her. i always forget that i Was in fact abused for the ol “not seeming properly cishet” business. so the nervousness abt the haircut experience lingered!! but it helps that sometimes i’d find a really nice stylist who would be friendly and remember the general idea of the cut i liked, and i could stick with them and that was helpful. but for the past year i’ve really just been giving myself a continuous haircut myself w the occasional aid of a bathroom mirror, i’m not fancy. my Ideal Cut gradually got shorter and shorter over the years, w it now being maybe an inch and a half on top and shorter on the sides in that General Undercut format. i rly dont like much length on the back of the neck or by the ears lol…plus it doesnt help having glasses when your hair is getting too long. maybe it would be nice if i could someday dye it my favorite kind of blue, right. but in the meantime, as long as its short enough i’m good

the choice to shave or keep rukeys mustache came from members of the team arguing about whether he should have it or not. its one of the oldest survivng scenes in the story. greg likes the mustache and thinks he looks plain without it and that it helps his personality immediately come across.

one of the tempers team members is yowlson, who shares a name with rukeys uncle. whether its a common cur name or actually his uncle is up to the player to decide.

“consil ta videas” means “until we are free” and is first said by hedwyn and jodi after the first rite vs the accusers.

the highwing remnants are implied to be a matriarchal society thats few in numbers now.

about where oralech got his raiments and sigil, “For the raiments, he did fall... maybe he turned his inside-out? For the sigil, maybe he had it fashioned, or found it at the base of the mountain, even. It's not clear where those came from originally. Consider this speculation rather than canon.”

the ambiguity of celeste and tariqs designs is on purpose, and theyre meant to feel like maybe they arent exactly human.

greg prefers not to answer to what extent tariq and celeste are human. “I think it's way better for someone to think 'they're like angels' and someone else to think 'they're the sun and the moon' and someone else to think 'they're sort of like elves' or whatever else than for there to be a correct answer and for those people to be wrong.”

“I think the songs are meant to feel in-world, but it's less clear with something like Thrash Pack. We liked including the minstrel versions of those tracks to give them a clearer in-world counterpart.”

its implied that the archjustice is connected to the nightwings specifically, and that the other triumvirates may have their own patrons but it isnt made clear.

not all triumvirates have access to all raiments, like the pyrehearts who are implied to be wyrm-only.

sandra can address the others directly during their trials, but its implied the beyonder crystal is only for the reader to mess with.

greg considers falcon ron being The Most Annoying Character Ever as a mission accomplished :D

the library at the end is suggested to be the restored library in the sahrian union, after the laws banning literacy were repealed.

about the literacy ban, “They would have probably been pretty intense about it. Turn in your books / printed materials. Signs taken down, etc., all by a certain date. I think they would have promoted the change of law pretty effectively.”

the ban started several centuries after the commonwealth formed and after the stamping press was invented. volfred was very young in sap terms when it happened. “There's a reference to Archjustice Androbeles IV (as opposed to IX), whose tooltip reads, 'The grand judge who, in 617 A.S., issued a decree prohibiting literacy, in answer to growing unrest.'”

“Just because something is banned / illegal doesn't mean ruling powers don't have access to it.”

hedwyn is pretty critical of food options in the downside, and likes cooking more than he likes one dish in particular. “He's this accomodating guy. I think for him the pleasure is in finding the right dish for the right guest.”

demonification starts to reverse after liberation after a few months/years as opposed to the decade or so it takes to start. and “you would have to be pretty tough to become a demon, just by virtue of living/suriviving in that environment long enough for it to happen. Then it makes you even tougher.”

it was essential to the game that the rites would be nonlethal in nature, and that the players could pick themselves up after defeat and have to deal with the loss. erisas story was important to establishing what would happen if violence did erupt.

“Erisa was likely straight-up stronger than Oralech. Blacksmith's daughter vs. doctor, I'd bet on the blacksmith. And, sounds like it was a cheap shot anyway. Oralech had his back turned or something like that.”

greg avoided having characters that were too hard to write because he couldnt really afford to get stuck on anybody, but the one he ended up revising the most towards the end was pamitha. not in any major way but balancing her aloofness was important. there were some versions of pamitha that were a mix of aloof and vulnerable that made players not care for her or get what shes about.

greg likes the versions of the ending where you lose to oralech but accept his mercy (or vice versa), and versions where both oralech and volfred are liberated, though theyre “difficult to achieve”.

about the option to manipulate oralech, “Yeah, I don't have data on this but suspect very few players go that route... I like that it's there, though, to let you do one final desperate act if that's where your instincts or curiousity leads you. You even have the option to back out of it if you do choose it.”

its implied that demons cant have children.

i jokingly asked a bastion question about Why Are Lunkheads So Fucking Scary to which greg replied “A frog wearing a stone helmet is inherently scary. That fast, shallow jump.... You know, a real reason might be that their jump isn't on a specific timing, i.e. there's some variance. So they're inherently a bit unpredictable, which probably makes them scarier / more disconcerting.”

a small, petite guy. rather deadly, 18 years old. light, blonde hair, and is too cute for his attitude. he has a love-hate relationship with oversized clothings, because while they are as comfortable as one would imagine sitting on a cloud to feel like, they made him look smaller than he actually is. his love for cola frames the basis of this story.

now, when lee jihoon is buying another extra large cup of his favorite drink, a young lady-who seems to be extremely health conscious-happens to be right behind him. having overheard his order, she taps his shoulder. "hey there, couldn't help but overhear your order, dont you think its a little too much sugar?"

timecheck, 11:24am. now, lee jihoon is not a morning person, and having someone question the amount of sugar in his favorite beverage, is definitely not his cup of tea. he glares at the lady, "and is it any of your business?"

"woah there, i was just trying to help, diabetes is no fun, maybe its time to watch your sugar intake, and to be honest, i love cola too, but at least make sure your intake is reasonable."

now meet park minhee;

a beautiful young lady, jet black collar-length hair, dreams to dye it ash grey, 18 years old. has an unhealthy obsession with korean "ulzzang" as she claims they are 'aesthetic™' her fear of diabetes adds on the basis of this story; and is also the main reason why she and jihoon would have ever met.

"im sorry, doctor, but i absolutely do not give two shits about whatever it is youre saying." jihoon flashed a mocking smile. "now, if you'll excuse me, i have somewhere to be and something to do, and that is definitely not talking to you about whatever the threats of diabetes may be."

"i understand, i may be annoying, but just look it up, please."

and there was something about her "please", maybe it was her wavering confidence, or maybe because she said it in such a small voice, that it was nearly impossible to hear it, but whatever the reason was, it make jihoon's heart soften. but not enough to make him turn around and continue the conversation.

quickly regaining his composure, jihoon gripped onto his cup tightly, and left the place.

meanwhile, minhee was worried, it was not as if she knew jihoon well, or was someone dear to her heart, she just did not want anyone to lose their life to diabetes. it wasnt that hard was it? just keeping watch of your sugar intake, it could save your life. for people like jihoon, it apparently was.

minhee has a insatiable love for cola too, but after that incident, she had learnt to control it, to ensure that her life would not be taken away too. so when jihoon had told her that he didnt care, (or rather, that he didn't give two shits about it), she had begun to worry, because no one deserves to lose their life to diabetes, no one.

everytime she had tried to warn someone about the risks of diabetes, they had all ended up listening, most of them, right from the start, but there a few who took some time before they did listen. minhee had never met someone like jihoon, who barely even gave her a chance, whether that was a good thing or not, we dont know.

but because of how he acted, it made her want to get the message across more than she ever did.

but, now was not the time, after all, she had to go meet soonyoung.

meet soonyoung; a 177cm tall boy, aged 18, small eyes that resemble the hands of a clock at 10.10. an incredibly handsome and passionate dancer with jet black hair (with no intentions to dye it). nicknamed "hoshi" by a few of his closest friends. loves hoodies and has a closet full of them. bestfriend: park minhee. relationship with jihoon? unknown.

now, the meeting location that soonyoung had given to minhee was far too normal judging it was from soonyoung, "pinwheel cafe".

minhee entered the café after a walk through the park. she looked around, hoping to spot soonyoung, but instead her eyes met with a familiar face she had seen that very morning. timecheck, 12:06, soonyoung was supposed to be here 6 minutes ago, she decided to drop him a message.

minhee pocketed her phone and decided to approach the boy from earlier in the morning, "why hello, again."

jihoon, on the other hand really didn't need another 'lecture' about diabetes, he had tried so hard for her to not notice him, yet, to no avail.

"uh... hi," jihoon chuckled, trying to cover up the fact that he was avoiding her.

"well, you work... at a cafe... i assume thats better than eating at one, working with sugar is always better than consuming them, of course."

jihoon was definitely hoping for a conversation not related to sugar, and obviously, the odds were not in his favor. upon hearing "sugar" the tone in his voice-and so had his mood-changed for the worse. "and then why are you here, at the cafe with the highest sugar content in town, miss 'watch-your-sugar-intake'?

"okay, no need to be so rude, and i'm meeting a friend." she checked her watch, 12:15, "who should be here in two minutes time, or im leaving."

"well, if you'd like to stay here even for the two minutes, im afraid you'll have to buy a beverage, or a dessert." jihoon mentally smiled at his quick thinking which could have led to a possible raise in his salary. <a/n ik it doesnt work like this but just go with the flow>

that smile quickly faded as minhee opened her mouth to react, "oh, i see, well then, i'll just be waiting outside." minhee turned to leave when a certain black haired boy dashed into the room with sweat trickling down his forehead.

"soonyoung," minhee muttered.

soonyoung checked the time on his phone, "12:16, 9 minutes, im on time." he looked up and smiled, "oh, hey jihoon!"

"technically, you're still late. we were supposed to meet at 12."minhee turned to face jihoon, and asked, "your name is jihoon?"

jihoon motioned to the name tag clipped on his apron, "well, apparently. you know soonyoung?"

her eyes narrowed a little, "was about to ask you the same question."

soonyoung walked in between the two, "and you two know each other?"

"well yeah, we met earlier this morning when she decided to lecture me about my sugar intake."

"it wasnt a lecture!" minhee added in.

the noise of a growling stomach interrupted their not-so-pleasant conversation, it was minhee's. "hey soonyoung, im starving, lets go for lunch."

soonyoung slapped his forehead lightly, "of course! how could i forget? jihoon, whats good here?"

minhee's eyes widened in shock, "what? we're eating here? no way!"

jihoon opened his mouth in mock offense, "well excuse me, miss 'watch-your-sugar-intake', but this is one of the best restaurants in town!-except that its a cafe." minhee rolled her eyes at the name, but let him continue, "and i definitely recommend the flower burger. it has everything most bugers has, but more. its as beautiful as a flower and makes your smile as beautiful as one too."

"o-oh! i want one of that!" soonyoung exclaimed excitedly.

"does it have a lot of sugar?"

"you know, if you want the dish with the lowest sugar level, just take the healing salad."

"good idea. we'll just have that and two glasses of plain water."

soonyoung pouted upon hearing that, "plain water?"

"yes, you consume too much sugar."

ignoring her remark, soonyoung ordered 'the best drink there', the beautiful highlight.

after they had settled down at a table, minhee proceeded to question soonyoung about how he had met jihoon, leading to a rather interesting conversation.

- a/n i swear theres an explanation as to why minhee is so health conscious and also to why the way she talked to jihoon after that is in such a huge contrast to her "please". pls comment lol i love comments . ok thx ily ❤

wigs - i’m willing to shell out a bit more for these as well. i’d like a nice short black one for karkat, kanaya, and if i ever decide to do jane, john, or jake, and though i have a long black wig it sucks pretty hard and i need a better one, probably curly, with bangs. though straight would be okay for most of these anyway. the only person who needs a medium length wig is terezi, and that’s actually pretty much true for all of hs, which is... too bad.

horns - i have a few pairs of horns already and PLENTY of clay to make more, but for bigger horns i’d need more than model magic. for aradia (and probably eridan and mmmaybe equius though im not doing either of them) and maybe vriska and kanaya (just to make those joints easier) id use the wire, tinfoil, and yarn method, but anything smaller than that i can use my clay. i already have peixes and vantas horns, though the peixes horns are broken and are resisting being fixed and the vantas horns don’t attach very well. i also have leijon horns in the works as well that were originally for davepeta. but id use clay to make vantas, captor, leijon, maybe maryam, pyrope, and maybe equius horns, and i used it for my peixes horns (though i didnt attach them well to the headband so those didnt go great).

contacts - i have actual regular contacts now, so now i wont have to worry about being blind ever. the next step is to get cosplay lenses (yes i know safe sites to get them from, yes i know my prescription and what size to get, yes i know how to be safe buying contacts). the best investement for sure would be a gray pair and a mesh pair, just speaking in terms of sheer number of characters. beyond that, it depends on who i end up cosplaying as to what color lenses i buy. for instance, if i decide on aradia, meenah, and dave, white and red lenses make the most sense. if i decide on rose, jasprose, and karkat, purple and gray ones make the most sense.

for any glasses, i’m going to be looking at thrift shops first and foremost. if i don’t find anything in a reasonable time, i’ll find stuff online.

i have probably two-thirds of a pot of snazzaroo, which will probably be enough, but if i decide to do a sprite or vampire kanaya, i’ll need white paint as well. plus if i decide to do more than one troll, i might want more gray paint anyway.

ears - i dont have any rn. i know a few methods to make them and a few places i can buy them but i’d probably end up making them anyway, mostly for cost-effectiveness.

as for money... well, i’ll do my best. i have an actual job now, and it’s pretty good. ive worked a lot in my first few days and ill keep working so even with taxes my paychecks are gonna be pretty sweet. id take commissions but i still have yet to consistently create any kind of art so im waiting til i can do that. also i dont have a way to get that money rn. nbd either way; i dont have any expenses besides this type of thing atm so its not like im hurting for money.

also i wouldnt have to cosplay only homestuck but a) im lazy and b) ive never loved anything the way ive loved homestuck so i kind of wouldnt want to betray my brand(tm)

(but if i wasnt going to cosplay only homestuck, which might be a good idea since idk how much homestuck the person i’d be going with is doing, i’d probably do taako.)

E. four fun facts!!! hmm heck. im bad at this, i can usually come up with facts depending on random context better,, 1. did u know that the Official pokemon mascot was almost clefairy? they eventually decided pikachu was more gender neutral i gues (u kno... bc clefairy is Pink... thas for gorls only everyone knows) 2. did u know pokemon stadium in the us was actually technically the intended expansion to japanese pokemon stadium? it was meant for the nintendo 64 disc drive as an upgrade to the original game but the disc drive did not do well so they just sold it as pokemon stadium (1) in the us as a separate game. 3. super smash brothers for the 64 actually started out as just a plain ole fighting game! the liscensed characters came into the picture later because the makers thought it would make the game more appealing to have it star characters like mario, link, pikachu, and captain falcon. 4. (this one i just learned a couple days ago!) in super monkey ball 2, in the name selection before you start story mode, there is every letter in the alphabet except for lower case w! you can type a capital w but no lower case. also some levels have background things removed to compensate for space, like how the fish is removed in the level "URL" and the vegetables in the soup are gone from... the level with the multiple wormholes and the tilty small paths? i forgot the name of that level :'3 also in one of the levels one of the background assets is randomly yellow, even though that part isnt yellow anywhere else. i forgot which level this one was too haha. Hey everybody. That hellish year is over, and now we can spend some time looking back at all the shit things were made that we were forced to sit through, and appreciate the great ones!

10. The Lobster: Not gonna lie, I was tempted to not put this and number 9 even on this list, but god. So many bad movies came out I kinda didnt have much else to put on here. Not saying the Lobster is a bad movie, it is not, just. Difficult. This movie was difficult to watch, and probably the second most uncomfortable movie I saw this year. There were a plethora of scenes that were made me squirm in my very uncomfortable seat. The most notable of which is a woman viying for the affection of the main character botches a suicide attempt and sits, dying slowly on the ground screaming while the main character attempts to flirt with a hot sociopath. And thats kinda a lot of the movie; violent and awkward. Much to my surprise, the movie ended up being an amazing look at love and relationships, and actually had some scenes that were genuinely touching, partly because of how cold, sterile, and viscous the rest of the movie was. The biggest problem that I have with this movie however, comes from my frustration with the ending. It goes in line with movies like Birdman, that just dont seem to know how to end. Note to future directors and writers: Ambiguity is a fine tool, but understand that not having a satisfying ending is not always a good thing. 

9. The Neon Demon: Whatever about the actual movie, its NWR (as he’s calling himself nowadays, groan) and I liked it, but. But. I must tell you all about the most stressful day I’ve ever had, and how it made this movie the most nerve racking experience of my life. I was staying at a hotel for anime expo with four other friends, when we were woken up at 4am by three things all happening at once: 1, the fire alarm went off, prompting 2, one of the guys woke up screaming from a nightmare while 3, one of the other guys decided to start screaming FIRE and both took off running down the hall. Later we learned it was a false alarm but I thought we were being murdered. After that I couldn’t sleep so I watched Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared which was disturbing and then the fire alarm went off 4 more times prompting one of the guys to scream every time. The I saw the Neon Demon. And honestly, it was such a stressful experience I have a hard time actually thinking about the movie because all I remember is being on my very last nerve and on the brink of a panic attack.

8. 10 Cloverfield Lane: You spend a lot of time looking at Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s ass and she is the most resourceful protagonist I’ve ever seen. It’s also a Cloverfield sequel which I love and John Goodman is a villain. Literally what more could you want. 

7. Rouge One: One of the best Star Wars films by far, I actually really enjoyed Rouge One, much more than I thought I would. It did a good job developing it’s character over the course of the movie, something Star Wars has literally never done without being either extremely cliched or just plain bad. My only complaints were that a, its still way too easy to just beat Stormtroopers with sticks, though I did appreciate the breaking glass, and b, the final fight was almost impossible to follow who was where and where the enemies were coming from. Besides that, fun action movie with some really solid performances and Alan Turdyk which is all you could want from a sci fi film.

6. The Nice Guys: Listening to Ryan Gosling scream after getting his ass kicked by Russel Crowe was one of the funniest things I got to see this year. Honestly though, this was a wonderful little gem of a movie and I really enjoyed every second of it. Not the best plot, and some kinda lame character development but hey, it was the best example of slapstick humor done well I’ve seen in years. Really, just such a fun film to watch.

5. Sing: I’m really surprised myself to see this movie so high on my list but the more I thought about the movie the more I enjoyed it. I’m a theater guy, I have a degree in theater and I’ve been doing musicals since 5th grade, so a movie about the magic of theater was really lovely to sit through. It did an amazing job of taking an incredibly broad array of music and bringing it together, and then making a white kid basically be a British Weekend, but hey besides that I loved the film. Sure it had tons and tons and tons of flaws but, I’m willing to forgive a lot because films are about enjoyment and sometimes you just have to find a film, acknowledge its not the best, and love it all the same.

4. Magnificent 7: Speaking of films that aren’t the best but I loved, this is easily the best action movie to come out in years. Also, one of the few movies to do a large ensemble cast, give all the characters equal development and, almost, equal screen time and have them all feel unique. Top it off with a diverse cast, some amazing shoot outs and you the perfect recipe for a great western.

3. Deadpool: Just go and watch the title sequence. Thats why I love this movie. Deadpool as a character has a tendency to annoy me but damn Ryan Reynolds did a great job walking that thin line and delivered the best iteration of Deadpool I’ve ever seen. The movie is was the only superhero movie to come out this year, that I saw, that wasn’t the exact same garbage nonsense we’ve seen what feels like a thousand times by now. Yeah, I’m looking at you, you piece of utter shit Civil War. Or, as it should be called: We didn’t have a good fight choreographer and uh Bucky can block a shotgun blast with his hand and somehow Caps team which is basically just a bunch of normal dudes and scarlet witch, and somehow they beat iron mans team cause the writers are lazy and just churning out these pieces of shit at this point, no I’m not just angry about Cap making out with that blonde bitch after Peggy died, fuck you that movie was a complete mess and you know it. That felt good, glad I got that off my chest, lets get back to Deadpool, because it has the camera guy from Cloverfield in it and I love him and this movie was a beautiful breath of fresh air and left me very excited about the next guardians of the galaxy because hopefully it wont fall into the same traps the rest of marvel has.

2. Your Name/ Kimi no na Wa: Mokoto Shinkai could animate himself taking a shit and I’d probably love every second of it. Seriously though, I love his work, and this film was the best he’s done since Voices From a Distant Star. It has heart, gorgeous animation, great characters, and a nice dose of humor that is usually absent in his films. It’s an amazing film and if it doesn’t win best animated film at the oscar’s then they’re racist and they have no taste.

1. Arrival: When me and my mom got into the car after seeing this she started bawling. Just sobbing uncontrollably. Normally when my mom gets emotional its over things I consider dumb or just not worth crying over but this time I understood it. This movie might be one of the more moving things I’ve seen in awhile. Way back in the day, I read a book called My Name is Asher Lev, and the book starts with a quote from Kafka: “A book must be the axe for the frozen sea within us.” This has always been something of my compass for what separates a good thing from a great one. And by god this movie was great. Sure, it is a little cheesy, I’ll be the first to admit that, but I just don’t care. Cheesy or not this film spoke to me in ways a movie hasn’t in too long. I choking back tears so many times during the film and Amy Adams performance was masterful. This is easily the best film I’ve seen this year, and will make my list of best films of all times. I’ve seen almost all of Dennis Villenvue’s films up to Arrival, and his films have a tendency of being very dispassionate and emotionally sterile and it was truly wonderful to see him make a movie that was bursting at the seems with feeling. I could sing the praises of this film forever so I’ll end it there.

So there we have it, 10 films I saw this year and left the theater going, “Man that wasn’t as shitty as some of the other films I saw this year that was nice!” Now theres some films that just didn’t make the cut so heres some honorable mentions:

Finding Dory, Train to Busan, Kubo and the Two Strings, Star Trek Beyond and Girl on the Train.

And now some of the Shittiest movies I had the complete displeasure sitting through: Civil War (huge surprise), Don’t Breathe, Ghostbusters, Jason Bourne, and I’m sure theyre some I’m forgetting cause I don’t want to remember them.

Allin in all there were a lot of films I wanted to see that I didn’t get to, but hopefully this year I can make a list of 10 films that I enjoyed seeing! Let me know what y’all thought and I’ll see you all later with some other list in the coming days!
