I was watching Jjk:0 this morning and having some satosugu headcanons.

(These are all just personal ideas I might make a fic out of one day but feel free to agree/disagree)

had a long convo w a pal abt structural and dialogue pacing in western animated shows that is too long to summarize and also I don’t remember it but the gist is I think the recent trend is pretty unforch for all types of pacing and I hear it even in shows I consider p good (•wl house, @mphibia) because it’s like. 1) even timing wise I feel like sentences happen too close together, 2) I think there are ways to carry over more complex developments *and* self-contained episodic arcs in ways I’m not necessarily seeing, & I’d want to hold up su and motorcity as examples; of course, ppl can make the argument that su had a lot of time that allowed for more extended setup & payoff, & motorcity had the full 20min instead of the 11min format, but it’s like… in motorcity there’s the arc where mike gets very mother hen and it gets resolved within the ep, which makes sense bc 1) has an inciting incident, 2) plays off established traits of Loves His Friends, 3) after resolved, makes sense for it not to come up again bc they were able to resolve it in a satisfying way. now consider chuck’s character arc, which you can map out in the three chuck eps (IF you watch them in order and not disney’s airdate) (😒)—blue thunder revealing insecurity, resolved within the ep in that the INCIDENT is resolved but the insecurity isn’t; fearless being a natural extension of that insecurity w chuck making up for what he lacks, then having to accept This Ain’t The Way; the larping eps has him swing into ‘yeah I accept that I’m just kind the extra and I’m gonna step out of the way for the for-real leader’ and then getting his strengths highlighted & acknowledged in a way that completes his character arc. this isn’t to say that toh and amph doesn’t do this, bc amph does a PHENOMENAL job setting up the dominos for the anne-sasha-marcy conflict, but I do think it suffers a bit from not having being able to have time to marinate in certain developments whereas in comparison su was able to have certain relational developments be background b plots rather than a plots (compared to amph which had the most important rx stuff as A Plots All The Time even when it was a chain in the domino and not resolved within its episode). my friend was specifically talking abt sasha & anne’s reunion & I deffo agree that I really wanted a lot more awkwardness and maybe a two-parter or full 20min rather than it being resolved in the ep its introduced in. and at the core of it I feel like the pacing issues that stick out to me is that the most compelling rx dynamics & developments sometimes have to *compete* w plot rather being *entwined* w plot, and sometimes it is but what I want the writers to do. is watch eeaao. it’s like the logistics don’t always match up w the emotions as well as it could, whereas in motorcity from what I remember there’s *always* an emotional link; e.g. julie being torn between her love for her father as a father and spearheading a rebellion to overthrow his tyrannical rule. actually on that, a great example is when they’re sitting opposite of each other and she’s telling the burners how to counter his orders as he’s giving the orders—the logistics are there, but mostly to push the emotional tension of the scene and serve as an INCREDIBLE compare-contrast with julie and her dad. actually what I’m getting from all of this is I want to rewatch motorcity. but you know what I mean, right? the logistics, the practical and structural story needs are INTRINSICALLY tied to character motivations and interpersonal dynamics and character consistency and character development, especially because the team has a diverse set of focuses and priorities (except texas) which means there’s no dearth of angles to play with to get that logistical/practical/structural looping back into the characters. oh and we were also talking about how gravity falls also had good pacing with the scale of episodic development and the family dynamics being the core of the World Ending Developments which allowed it to keep a good sense of pacing and focus (again like eeaao)

it’s higher in pitch than someone might expect looking at him, but you sort of get it once you hear his voice, cause the man aint all that deep. it’s still cute though, and he gets choked up and wheezes sometimes when he laughs too hard since he hasnt had all that much to laugh about growing up, so its foreign to him ):

Why you are so amazing

The traits and simply make you, you. 

The Sun: I literally squealed when this card came out of the deck, like chaotic babies unite. This card represents all things happy, you just have this cheerful personality that brings so much joy to others like even with the doom and gloom around us you still manage to keep on smiling which is honestly a massive talent. For some reason (if there are any MHA fans in the building) I thought of Mirio who is always so upbeat and ready to help others in need, I feel like this is definitely you. To me, the idea of being a really good storyteller came into my mind like the sun represents the performative aspects of life so just naturally grabbing that audience's attention is something you are so good at and I am never ever bored in your company. Looking at the picture of the card there is a little child riding a horse, you have this childlike innocence and curiosity which is the most adorable thing ever but I feel like sometimes people underestimate your intelligence and capabilities. I would like to say that the child on the card is sitting in a very confident manner and is controlling the horse with ease which suggests to me that you do have this deep maturity about you too which people tend to forget, the fact you can go from loud and upbeat to quiet and introspective is so cool and amazing as Hannah Montana says “you got to live the best of both worlds”. One final message is that it is ok to feel sad and that you don’t have to be optimistic all the time, you are not a burden and many people will rush towards you full of love and support. 

Page of Swords: seeing this card after drawing the sun made a lot of sense in my mind, the page represents youthful energy and the swords are all to do with our intellect and abstract concepts (like of like air in astrology) so you might be a bit of a bookworm or you like to learn more about things like tarot or astrology. What I can say is that you know a little about a lot which is super amazing because you always have some random fact tucked into your brain, you would be great on a quiz team. You are so witty and funny too like I can imagine people are always bent over laughing whenever they are in your company and if you do not believe me then I can guarantee that is what they say to other people when talking about how cool you are. Quite the chatterbox on your school reports I can imagine the teacher said that you may have “talked a bit too much” but you can’t help it, you do love to socialise. Looking at the picture on the card the page is surrounded with clouds so I can imagine you are a little bit of a daydreamer which is very endearing and sweet you can’t help it physics the last thing on a Friday is just so incredibly boring, you come up with the grandest ideas and no one knows how like why didn’t they think of that you are a natural outside the box thinker. Lastly, I think the Page of Swords is a very good problem solver sure it might not be the most straightforward solution if you solve your problems in a way which works for you, you do not follow convention and are proud to be an innovator and that deserves a reward in itself. 

The Lovers: the most romantic card in the whole deck, my goodness you are a hopeless romantic, you love to daydream about all the possibilities and you might also believe in soulmates, personally I think it is very sweet and we need more idealist in this world because sometimes reality can seem so bleak. I just know in my heart that you would be one of the best s/o ‘s ever like you would do all the cute romantic gestures like buying roses and leaving cute notes around their room like I am actually gonna go and squeal in a pillow because of how precious you are. The Lovers also indicate that you know who you are and you know what your morals are, whilst you may be an idealist you don’t let people walk all over you that’s for sure, you stand up for yourselves and for others and are the voice for the people who cannot be heard. You make a very good public speaker too (you should give it a go deffo) and are very clever with your words as the Lovers are ruled by Gemini. A scenario which popped into my head was somebody thinking you flirted with them but in actual fact, you were just being friendly. Looking at the picture of the card the background appears to look like the garden of Eden for some odd reason the first kind of trait is you being able to make yourself at home anywhere. The Garden of Eden represents paradise so like you can naturally find your “paradise” in a different location or with a group of people perhaps the word I am looking for is spontaneous whatever it is I feel like that is something you can do. My last message is that you sometimes doubt yourself and your decision-making skills. What I have to say is that trust your intuition and go for it, don’t get too caught up in your head because you do not need to, you have excellent observation skills already. 

Hidden Talent

Perhaps something you might not have been aware of 

Knight of Swords: You are very ambitious, I feel like many people do not see that due to your sunny exterior but once you have a goal in mind there is no stopping you. You remind me of the Queen song “Don’t stop me now” like your life is always so fast-paced. When the situation calls for it you can leave that page of sword persona and step up into the role of the knight and take charge of the situation. You are assertive and direct as I think some of you reading this reading today may feel like you are a bit of a doormat but I can confidently say you are not. Also, you are extremely intellectual, you may not be academically intelligent but it’s more that you are very eloquent and can debate with ease, like you can break down someone else’s point and explain how they contradict one another or how they don’t add up. On the card itself, the knight is wearing the colour blue, according to colour theory blue is representative of Logic and wisdom. Another big indicator of how smart you really are not a himbo by any means. How to love yourself

We all have our down days so here are some tips and tricks to make you feel better 

2 of Coins: I feel like the universe here has kind of given you two options here. Usually, this card indicates a need to be flexible and have to juggle things around if in this case I do not believe it is your message. I wanted to look at the image, especially the two pictures inside the coins. The first one is the weighing scales which are perfectly balanced which I interpreted as being the symbol of Libra. Being patient with yourself and saying kind words to yourself can be very healing, a tactic could maybe leave post notes in nice places so whenever you walk around the room. Definitely pamper yourself when you deserve it. The message I am getting from this card is that you are too harsh on yourself and never give yourself the self care you deserve, get that face mask and blast a bit of Megan, be the princess/prince you deserve to be. On the other part of the coin is a picture of a big moon with a tiny sun in the middle, my interpretation comes back to the sun card and you feel like you always have to hold this cheery facade. The moon represents our emotions specifically our anxieties and fears with it being bigger so with it being the bigger image I feel like in order to love yourself you are going to need to express your emotions in a healthy way whatever mechanism works best for you, for me ranting to a close friend always helps but other people prefer to journal or use a creative outlet which is fine too. Lastly, as I mentioned at the top the 2 of coins indicates that you have lots of projects in your life so maybe if you immerse yourself in those you can unlock the true path to good self esteem.

The Star with the 2 of Swords: these cards both fell out at the exact same time with the star on top and the 2 of swords behind so I decided to use the swords card as a clarifier one. I say this about a lot of the cards but i can tell that the star is one of my faves 100% it represents hope, creativity and calm. The first kind of trait that came into my head when this card popped out is that you always shine wherever you go, you are just gifted at everything, some of you think you may be the burnt out gifted child but you are not, you still glow even if you can’t see it yourself and people are in awe (and somewhat intimidated by you) because of your success and achievements. Looking into the actual meaning you are the type of person to never give up, the star is a sign that your wishes are coming into fruition, if something doesn’t go according to plan you do not dwell on it too much and brush yourself up again and carry on which is amazing considering the circumstances we are in. The word I was looking for is resilient and persistent. You don’t let the haters stop you from doing your thing. Either way your amazing perception is something that goes unnoticed by others so I believe this card fell from the deck as a chance to give you the credit you deserve. The high priestess represents having inner power, the picture on the card shows her sitting in her chair very assured. The Star: I found it so amazing that this card came out again in a different deck, the message when I saw the 2 star cards just confirmed to me that you don’t realise how amazing you are, like you are constantly downplaying yourself because you are so incredible modest, like you are so much better than you think you are and you deserve all the joy in the world. The star in tarot represents hope and affirmations, somebody praising you definitely makes your day. (this message just came to me when i was writing this), society constantly tells us not to out looking for external praise and to be happy with ourselves it has to come from within but I slightly disagree on this standpoint, I believe you guys lack that external validation in your life, so when someone does praise you it really has a big impact. Getting complimented is a good thing and you deserve every single one of them. Getting back on track, looking closely at the picture the lady is pretty much naked except for a blue ribbon covering her “private parts”, to me this is an indication that you should show off, like put on a pretty dress (or whatever clothing makes you feel the most comfortable) and get some beyonce on and pretend you are a victoria secrets angel, release the inner diva, do something bougie, get your nails done. You have some extremely high IQ or you naturally incredibly street smart either way your intellect is something to be marveled. Unlike pile number 2 I would not say you are studious but are the type of person who can have like 2 hours sleep and come in and do a test and still pass with flying colours. With this card, I feel like you are two steps ahead of everyone else, I can imagine that you sort of go into this mind palace like sherlock holmes where you connect all the loose threads, out of this world deduction skills, like how do you do it I will never know??? Definitely very good actors, like you can turn on the charm if need be and honestly you guys are super badass, you are the one person I believe who could actually survive animes such as Attack on Titan or the promised neverland.

Seven of Pentacles: Whenever I see this card in a personal reading of me it’s the universe’s way of telling me to stop being an impatient bitch and keep working. You sure do put up with a lot of shit, I 100% think that within your friendship you are the voice of reason and honestly you deserve a nobel peace prize. Seven of Pentacles indicates a need for looking more into the future, a long term perspective, you deffo play the long game, thinking before you leap and taking into consideration the consequences of your actions. The first message that came to mind in regards to loving yourself was listing things that you are grateful for, as someone who has low self esteem issues I know this can be extremely difficult but you need to dig deep. If you have trouble starting off taking personality quizzes can be a good start, my personal faves our the myer briggs (do not take 16personalities it isn’t accurate) and the jungian archetypes (i got the Jester), you can see some good traits from these quiz results which could help you start your list. What was really prominent on this card was the peace sign that was in the background, this could be an indication that may need to find peace with yourself or perhaps try to find peace around you, with the chaos that has been COVID you may have lost your balance in life, the cups aren’t standing up right. Perhaps your sleep schedule has gone out the window or you are skipping lunch most days ( I am guilty of doing this too), try by fixing your daily routine, this could be by going to bed 1 hour earlier or maybe making sure you go outside at least once a day. I definitely think that will increase your overall morale and thus the confidence will make a comeback. So I have a confession to make: I haven't played ToT for a whole week now. I'm kinda scared to go back in because of the new event, (the Christmas one) because I'm afraid I won't finish it in time but at the same time I don't want to miss out on it so I have just been sitting in this limbo.

I think I maybe burned out because I finished everything? So the only thing I looked forward to were the events (some of the events were brilliant, some not so much) and in my opinion, they aren't spaced apart enough for me to enjoy them. I play this game for the story so when there isn't much of it, it's hard to just even log in daily - keeping in mind I haven't missed a single day since I got the game.

I really hope we get new main and character stories soon because I can't see myself being interested enough?

I'm genuinely lost because I absolutely love this game!

ooooohhh i can relate to this sentiment!! i havent stopped playing but i deffo feel a big mood at "events coming in too fast to enjoy them" like yep yep. im STILL processing luke bday and now theres xmas partyland!! before that, i was STILL processing symphony of the night and then RRG part 1 happened gbsdjkgsd

tho if it's any consolation, the current event Xmas Partyland doesnt have any event plot like Symphony of the Night or RRG. it's just a boardgame thing, like Summer Breeze!!!

also not sure if i u kno but it seems tot wants the global server to catch up to the cn server (i talk about it here and here) so that global wont stay 1 year behind cn server forever. this has pros (more stuff at a faster pace) but also cons (MORE STUFF AT A FASTER PACE, IT'S HARD TO KEEP UP, also it's fuckin up some of the relationship development espeeeeecially mc and marius hoo boy)

based on the cn server, we should be getting the Personal Story 3 AND Main Story 6 installments in February of next year, 2022 (the pvs for them for the cn server was released at that time, 2021), but again, with how tot wants global to catch up, who knows if we're gonna get it earlier.

i'd REALLY LOVE IT EARLIER. i want the main and personal stuff earlier and the events a liiiiittle bit more spaced out bc tbh, i can only write so much so fast to respond to it all HAHA (im enjoying myself, yes, but im close to collapsing at the end of every day so UH)

idk if any of these will help you, but personally, what I've found has helped me is 1) covering up/taking down mirrors, 2) taking out like a few lightbulbs in rooms where i need to have some light so that its harder to see anything (like i need a mirror in my bathroom so i have 3/4 lightbulbs taken out to make it harder to see and pick), 3) making the flashlight inaccessible on my phone so again I can't use it to see anything, 4) hiding any of the tools I use for it in a room where id never do it, bc sometimes just adding that extra step of work of going there and going back can stop me, 5) having like strawberries around and going at the seeds in the strawberries if i need to because the motion and feeling is very similar for me and there are a LOT of seeds in those guys, and 6) making it more difficult to get up close to a mirror (like cluttering up the area in front of them and stuff) . it doesn't stop it entirely of course but it slows me down a LOT and makes it a lot less likely that I'll get stuck in a really long picking session. i hope that maybe helps a bit!!! (even if it's just like, solidarity haha. because GOD yeah the moment after you have a really long picking session is just. The WorstTM. so im really sorry u have to deal w/that)

the mirrors thing is very very true - my skin got so much better when i had moved into my new place because the bathroom mirror is quite high up and above the skin so i wasn't able to get suuuuper close to it so i wasn't able to see/find things to pick at. and i got a vanity desk for my bedroom so while i do have a massive mirror sitting in front of me, it's actually got enough distance between myself and the mirror that i also am not close enough to see all the little imperfections so i can pick at them. back in my old room i had a regular desk and i kept a tabletop mirror next to me so i constantly had a mirror super close and was always looking into it and picking at things.. it deffo helped at first but after a while the compulsions started again :'(

for the tools, i have actually decided to just throw them out today. honestly just looking at myself right now is bringing me to tears i genuinely cannot believe how badly i've mistreated my skin so i just threw away the whole box of tools. hopefully this actually helps and doesn't make me just buy more...

the strawberry thing is an interesting idea haha i might try that! someone else suggested looking into some fidget toys which i've never considered so i'm going to try that too maybe, see if i can find something to replace these behaviours :)

Just saw where you were asking for thots, so how about this. So I’m a hoe for our man in blue especially when he’s an alpha. I can imagine where Alpha!Paz and his omega are collecting supplies on another planet and they somehow get separated, put in a group of alphas that try to scent or even mark omega reader. Next thing you know Paz is whopping those alphas asses and taking omega reader back to his ship. Add in some possessive sex and heavy scenting/marking/breeding, that’s your decision ❤️

OK SO ...i’ve been thinking abt this, and the way I see it: Paz has got that Mandalorian training, he fucking knows self-restraint, if he’s upset no one’s gunna see it—except maybe those close to him that know his tells. Also Paz trusts his partner, getting separated isn’t something to worry abt. He trust you’re not gunna go out of your intended way or do something really impulsive and dumb (at least not without checking in on the commlink first). SO the real thing would be if you’re running late.

Say the two of you have a prescheduled rendezvous point and you don’t show up? He’s gunna immediately go and figure out what the hold up is, hoping it’s just some merchant who’s heckling you—BUT should he come upon you being hassled by some alphas? oh no..

Paz gets heated. Like, think of the scene in chp 1 with him and Din; he’s all pissy Din showed up with some beskar and is quick to grab his helmet and start a fight—but I see that as more of a sibling rivalry, he’s quick to fight with Din cus they’ve gotten into hundreds of tussles growing up together. It’s as normal to them as saying hello.

When it comes to fighting people outside of the covert he is much less likely to strike first bc—and let’s be real here—dude’s got like a fuckin natural +20 boost on intimidation. His stature alone sends an air of ‘don’t fuck with me’. Now cover him in armor with a jet pack and fucking rifle strapped to his forearm? Yeah he can end a fight before it starts just by being present. 

So he walks up, and anyone bothering you (and few who are uninvolved but happen to be near by) suddenly disappear. Poof! 

buuut what’s still here is his pent up energy. Just, the sight of seeing you upset—and he can tell from body language and expression even from a distance (the scope on his helmet does help)—gets him worked up, and he wants to avoid frivolous fights in public but after it’s all ended he’s still got all this unused energy in him, all the adrenalin preparing him for the worse case scenario buzzing thru his limbs, and no immediate way to exercise it.

Where ever you’re staying, he’s gunna drag you back to bed and take his sweet time showing how much he cares. Cooing abt how you’re so strong and it amazes him and he’d do anything—ANYTHING for you. Narrowed it down to two potential names...

so I need to get my thoughts in order a little bit, so typing it up to lay it out, and this may end up being quite long so feel free to just scroll past or press J on desktop, but i’d appreciate any thoughts/input people wanna give.

I’m wanna change my name again cos my current name bares too many similarities to my deadname and it’s been a problem on a few occasions (eg people who have newly met me thinking they’re giving me a cute nickname but are actually just deadnaming me without realising) but i know a lot of people will be annoyed with me because we went thru a lot when i changed my name officially the first time (about 4 years ago) and they wont be happy to have to do it all again. But i only picked my current name to make life easier for other folks. it was already a nickname and it was close enough to my deadname that i thought even folks who didn’t know me by that nickname wouldn’t find the switch too challenging. but 4 years on and people still get it wrong! so if i’m using this name not cos i like it but rather to make life easier for everyone and they’re STILL deadnaming me then i might as well pick a name i actually really love? right? like choose it FOR me, not for the ease of others? (not that i hate my current name. it’s.. fine. i can live with it. but the issues with the similarities to my deadname are a problem..) 

SO! i’ve been looking at new names for awhile now and i think we’ve narrowed it down to 2. Avery or Teddy. both have their pros and cons.

First Avery: 

pros: 1) my Mum picked it. which is nice cos parents generally pick their children’s names so it feels kinda right. 2) it’s gender neutral. this is good for a few reasons but the one that matter’s most is that the people at work, who either know i’m non-binary but think i’m amab or think i’m a feminine gay guy, won’t need any clarification for the change. i can just be like “i wanted a gender neutral name” and leave it there. 3) it’s not a very common name but it’s not sooo weird that people will be like “that’s not a real name.” 4) it means “Elf King” which is badass.

cons: 1) i’m not sure it suits me?? when mum first suggested it i was like “yeah i like it but it’s deffo not me” although it’s been growing on me more and more since then so maybe it’s a “i’ll grow into it” kinda thing. but the one person i mentioned it to also thinks it doesn’t suit me? which is a shame cos they said that just as i was going “actually i can see myself as an Avery.” 2) it’s gender neutral, i’m worried people will hear it before meeting me and assume i’m a girl because they happen to know a woman with that name or if people are unfamiliar with the name they’ll think it sounds feminine (a few people i’ve spoken to about this worry assure me it’s unfounded, and actually they think it’s a more masc name, but i worry still) 3) it begins with A. both my sisters names also begin with A.. actually this might be a Pro, i’m not sure. 

Now Teddy:

Pros: 1) seems more popular with my friends, more people say they can see me as a Teddy, they think it suits me. 2) can be short for Theodore. this is good cos if i begin to feel like i don’t wanna be Teddy no more i can be Theodore, or Theo. the possibilities are endless. 3) i think my 2 yr old niece will find it easier to say (i know we were trying the get away from making decisions based on how easy it’ll make life for other people but i do feel really guilty about changing my name now as she has literally only just, like in the past week, learnt how to say my current name. she says it really cute too, like ROO-fuss. anyway, getting off track)

cons: 1) can be short for Theodore. we know a Theodore. don’t think he’d like me nicking his name. but i guess if i’m only legally Theodore but socially Teddy, it doesn’t matter that much. 2) i feel like it’s quite a common trans-guy name? worried about being perceived as a stereotype. 3) and this is the big one... people are going to think i named myself after a comic book character. (see that little green guy in my icon.. yeah) i work in a comic book shop and the guys i work with are well aware that i love Hulkling, so if i work in one day like “sup my name is Teddy now!” they’re deffo gonna go “like Hulkling?” and i’m getting a Wiccan/Hulkling tattoo in July so i’ll have a giant picture of a guy with the same name as me on my arm.. does this matter? like i’m actually asking, does this matter? most normal people won’t get the connection at the moment (heaven forbid Hulkling ever enters the MCU) but the folks at work for sure will and i feel like it’ll be weird. and writing this down now i do realise that i sound a bit unhinged but these are the things i worry about. not that naming oneself after a comic character is a bad thing.. i just so happened to have the name already on my list before remembering it’s Hulkling’s name, so it is actually a coincidence, although i am aware that there may have been a subconscious connection that is the reason the name jumped out at me... also.. i was going to move my current name to be my middle name.. and.. uh. that’s the character in question’s middle name too. again. pure coincidence. but it looks so sus.

so yeah. those are my pros and cons. some of them sound ridiculous upon reflection, but these are the things i worry about. 

i keep flip-flopping. i was 100% going to go for Teddy like 2 weeks ago. was figuring out a new insta username and everything but then I read a comic with Hulkling in and went... “ah shit. i can’t do this” 

so then i was committed to Avery. i was all “Yes! Avery! gender neutral. kinda fancy! let’s do this!” until someone i mentioned it to was like “eh i’m not sure it suits you” and i was lost again. i have some friends calling me Teddy and i feel like they’d be bummed if i went for Avery instead. but yet again my Mum is very team Avery.. soo...
