Unity must have felt like an alien when she woke, or like the last human being on another planet. When she went to sleep (1916 I think) no women could vote in the UK, cars existed but were the playthings of the rich, the only World War that had ever happened so far was still going on. The Roaring 20s and the full swing of the Jazz Age were still around the corner. Film was in its infancy, as an increasingly popular attraction but "talkies" let alone color film were nowhere in sight. Besides that the Hot New Entertainment technology was still radio.

And now she wakes up and it's the 21st century, to over a century of lost history. She now lives in a world where petticoats are a thing you only wear for historical reenactments and cosplay, to a whole new political climate. An entire ass second world war, the Cold War, rock music, the sexual revolution, second and third wave feminism, all these new civil rights movements rising...she was thrown from a world where all of that hadn't yet happened to a world where it's all old news. If there was a game to use We Didn't Start the Fire as bingo and you got an award for every time you had to look a reference up, she'd immediately win and sweep the board.

Unity went from movies being in their infancy, and not with live sound or color...to the internet age, to tiktok? I'd want to go right back to sleep tbh

the problem with being autistic and liking something that is (unfortunately) so popular that it's always on the YouTube front page is that there will be a lot more haters than a little bit, and you, being an autistic person, take it to heart, thinking you shouldn't like it because you're "just as bad as the fandom", "it's too popular", or "it's not even good enough for you to like it". Yes, people are entitled to opinions, but only if one is respectful about it, and in this case, NOBODY is being very respectful about their opinions regarding this and that is why I made this post: people's hate is seriously getting to me about my interests and idk what to do 😭💀

Again I'm not saying everyone has to like the same thing but Jesus Christ don't harass or hate on people who like something you dislike. You would hate it if someone did that to you, right?

Then, if their reasoning is the fandom, then I wouldn't know what to say because every fandom has its bad apples, but because tadc is currently "trending", there's gonna be a lot more prominent ones and that's the worst part. I want to distance myself from the fandom quite a lot because I enjoy the media and the fan works that go with it but if there's gonna be constant haters every corner I turn, I don't want to be in it. Gooseworx has already wanted the fandom to stay sane and literally almost EVERYONE fucking disrespected her wishes and didn't listen to her. I'm more than disappointed.

When I was part of the JSaB fandom, you never saw anyone going "oh, I hate this". You know why? Cuz a fandom didn't fuck it up. Even when I was part of the Cookie Run fandom, a fairly big one at the time, you never saw anyone getting aggressive over people liking it. I'm very happy for TADC's popularity, but it's starting to feel more like a curse than a blessing, both for the show's creator and the amazing side of the community.

How long have these OCs been around? Did they exist before the 2020 comic or did it pop into your mind just then???

Oh no they were made LONG before I even had the idea of making a fan adventure, honestly I don't even think I knew fan adventures existed when I made them. The main 6 were made (as far as I know it's hard to place when I didn’t date any of my old old sketchbooks) when I was 13 so they are a decade old now. The first image I posted here that had any of them was in 2016 so I would have been 16 then. In 8th grade though I remember actually getting into fantrolls cuz I made a lil mache statue of the first version of Dextra (the weird sona with the purple hair and clock horns) in my art class and I remember drawing her with the very first versions of my characters at some point during that time. Now I know the main 6 came a few months before her and in the OG sketchbook that lines up cuz her first version appeared like 20 pages after they did. I was 12/13 in 8th grade so that's like the only way I can really “pinpoint” when they were made really. I do still have the sketchbook I first drew them in as well I just don't have it dated cuz what 12/13 year old remembers to date their sketchbooks lol 

There's something fun for you, those are all the first drawings I could find of each of them VS the ones I did in senior year of collage with their fancy godtiers, vast amount of development and improvement over a decade.

I still mask because I can't avert my eyes from the obvious signs that it has never gone away since 2020. Like, I'm often not even good at noticing subtlety IRL, but these signs are not hard to find. People are in denial.

AND I still avoid eating in restaurants because eating is the one thing you have to take off your mask for, and I am not doing that in some indoor and enclosed environment where hundreds if not thousands of people have been unmasked that day alone.
