Most fics starring Miguel O'Hara are written in English by sometimes (often,) non-Spanish speakers. I adore reading Spanish expressions on them, it makes the fic feel different and more realistic. However, every time they use the diminutive of his name with the termination 'ito,' it feels off.

Miguelito makes me think about a sweet chili powder and what I would call a toddler. Migue would be the perfect way, Miggy and variations feel American but they are alright.

As for the use of endearment terms, from Miguel to a character, hear me out:

Arañita: the termination 'ito/ita' is to refer to something that it's little, sometimes insignificant, so calling someone in a playful/teasing way 'arañita' would be perfect.

But calling someone arañita as an endearment name, lovingly, feels off. However, pequeño/pequeña can be used as an endearment term, yes, it means little, but in a way that implies taking care of someone/something important, particularly when used next to a pet name. So, 'Mi pequeña araña,' would be a better expression to use when referring to someone lovingly (honestly, just writing it makes me feel a little ticklish.)

i know it's really fucking shitty when people don't interact with things you've made and the inherent need to be validated for your work will always be there no matter what... but the best way to combat that (as cliche as it is) is just to create things For You. and like not care about numbers. at least in my experience. shrug

I like alicent. Book!alicent is perfect to me, she was dedicated to do what she wants to do like any noble lady during those times. But show!alicent while i like, is too flip-floppy to me that its difficult to appreciate her fully. I dont know why people don't want her to be more ruthless, both cersei and catelyn were ruthless and they were awesome with all their flaws. Basically i want alicent to be more like cersei and catelyn. Atleast don't keep doubting wanting your blood on the throne.

I think they did a good job until ep8 setting up the conflict/her motivations but then the war starts bc of a misunderstanding?? there was no need to do that the pieces were all in place 😭 and like it could have worked if she willfully misinterpreted it bc she realized it could benefit her but then in ep 9 she's just like. 'you've been scheming without me???' girl WHAT how do you not know this you've been talking about making aegon king for years. why would they need to scheme without her knowlege. like she can still feel conflicted about it bc rhaenyra was her girlbestfriend and she doesnt wanna kill her it's all there no need to do this shit!! anyway.
