#like there’s ways to get people to donate but publicly shaming and humiliating them is not it

This may be controversial but I Genuinely wish people would stop being all arrogant and patronising Abt organ donation.
Like people talking abt organ donation to me is the equivalent of those virtue signalling posts on tiktok that’s like “if you don’t do this you’re a shit human being and don’t deserve genuine love or care” cuz yeah organ donation is important but so is respecting people’s wishes who don’t feel comfortable doing it. For example if your religion doesn’t allow it. Me personally I’m not opposed to organ donation but I don’t want to sign up (I live in a country where I’m automatically assumed an organ donor unless I opt out anyways) because I have such bad anxiety if I think about it I will have a panic attack. And I struggle rlly bad w intrusive thoughts and one occurring one is Abt having my organs removed so I just hate thinking about it bc it’s genuinely really distressing for me. Like the thought of having my organs taken is just so panic inducing and awful for me to think about because it reminds me of how I’m going to die one day and I’m actually terrified of that so xxxxx and whenever I try to explain this to people when I say I’m not an organ donor (haven’t got a card that u get when u sign up) it’s like “WHY NOT??!?!?!?” “YOULL BE DEAD YOU WONT NEED THEM!!!” “WHY ARE YOU SUCH A SHIT PERSON DO YOU NOT CARE ABOUT OTHERS IN NEED????” Like no. Just let me explain for two secs and stop being an asshole !!! I just think that it’s stupid cuz I think that even if it’s not for religious reasons we should still respect the wishes of the dead. If I say I don’t want to donate I don’t want to and I have a valid reason and that should be respected. I get that organ donation is struggling bc of aging population but you don’t have to make me feel guilty about my genuine fears and anxieties because you want to make yourself look better. Cuz these people don’t care they just wanna make themselves seem better than you most of the time. And they just scream at you and it’s really upsetting.

It's a shame that MU Nefarian got dusted by the Sceptre, because otherwise Leibniz Nef is the kind of sick puppy who would dig up his own corpse and chop the red hand off and sew it onto himself, bringing it back to life with some messed up biomagic in the process, in order to regain his power. Imagine him cracking the coffin open and saying "well aren't you a handsome devil"
Bold of you to assume his red hand wouldn’t have been cut off and sold on the black marked by either some corrupt Sanctuary mortician or some crook who broke into the morgue. Maybe they would have even scooped out those brilliantly green eyes of his to sell as well, tho they would have to be quick about preserving them before they turn cloudy and dull.
After SoW I also wouldn’t exclude the possibility that the necromancers would demand the hand be given back to them either. I am curious if the red hand still works after getting cut off and weither it will decay or kept preserved by its own necromantic properties?
This actually made me wanna lock up what happens to serial killers/criminals after they die.
“In several cases, the brains of serial killers have been stored so they can later be scientifically examined to determine if there was a neurological link to their violent behaviour. Others have been cremated and had their ashes thrown into the depths of the ocean in the dark of night.” [source]
That would be the modern way to handle things. The more old school way would be handing the corpses of criminals over to be dissected after death. “Dissection was a disgrace, a humiliation, a final act of indignity.” [source]
And there are also cases like those of Burke where after his public execution his corpse was publicly dissected and his skeleton displayed at the Anatomical Museum of Edinburgh Medical School which is ironic since it’s the exact same thing he did to the corpses he dug up and the people he killed. The notebook made of  his skin was a little too much tho lol [source]
The best case scenario would be for the church to claim Nef’s body and bury him in one piece. The most likely case would be that his corpse would get cremated and disposed off in secret. Maybe with his brain removed for study and his red hand either burned along with the rest of his body, stolen or given back to the necromancers. The worst case scenario would be them donating his body to be (publicly) dissected or putting his corpse on display. Maybe they would even take out his organs and donate them so he’ll save lives in death after he took so many while he still drew breath. Of course that’s only possible if he didn’t black-blood himself.
So the scenario you described could happen if the church took his body in time and kept it safe. Maybe they even buried Baron by his side later on :’( (I really do hate that Landy wrote the church members as not caring about each other, so their canon versions would never do that, sadly.) But I also enjoy the idea of Nef going on a wild chase after whoever took his counterparts precious red hand. RIP to whichever poor bastard took or bought it!

Weekly Wager Wednesday Returns!
Welcome to Weekly Wager Wednesday, the weekly thread where you get to sell your soul to your most hated rivals. Before we begin, let us explain ourselves. What is Weekly Wager Wednesday?Years ago, some prolific members of the community decided to make things a little more exciting in the game day threads by making small wagers with other Redditors on the outcomes of the game. One thing led to another, and /r/hockeywagers was born, along with a weekly thread that was posted on this subreddit called Weekly Wager Wednesday. Redditors would gather on the thread and challenge each other to bets on games for the week. The premise was simple: whoever lost the bet was at the whim of the victor’s bidding.Over the course of the following months, we had a wide of variety of creative wagers play out. Some losers had to compensate the winners with simple favors like buying them a pizza or sending them a shot glass. Others were subjected to more humiliating acts, such as photoshopping hockey players onto iconic movie scenes,  drinking back to back shots of hot sauce and vinegar, and ahem writing a very descriptive Pierre McGuire fanfic. On a more wholesome note, many Redditors decided to make generous donations to charities of the winner’s choosing, including towards victims of the Boston Marathon attacks. While the popularity of Weekly Wager Wednesday slowly faded away, there were still some loyal adherents that continued to make wagers on games.Return of the Weekly Wager Wednesdays:After some discussion between some of the original moderators of /r/hockeywagers and the /r/hockey mods, we’ve come to an agreement to let /u/LAKingsDave join our team. /u/NWLiery also accepted the invitation to join /r/hockeywagers to help revitalize the subreddit and the weekly threads. With an official representative from /r/hockey to help out /r/hockeywagers, we hope to bring the weekly thread back as a permanent and more organized event on the subreddit. We would like to thank the previous moderators of /r/hockeywagers, /u/abefroman1986, /u/golf4miami, /u/7we4k, /u/Kozi47, and /u/jfazzel, all of whom are no longer with the moderation team and have since moved on with their own personal lives. We thank you for the time you gave up to help make this happen in the first place, and we send you our best wishes in your future pursuits. Now without further ado, let’s set some ground rules. How It’s Done:In the thread below, we’ve posted parent comments listing all the ongoing playoff series, where users can reply to in order to find people to make wagers on the games related to said series. In doing so, we hope to make it easier for users to find other Redditors interested in making bets on particular series. If for any reason you are unable to find somebody to make a wager in our weekly threads, you can also try out wagers channel on our official discord, or on the official /r/HockeyWagers subreddit. Both these channels are made to mitigate any such traffic from clogging up /r/hockey and team related subreddits with posts seeking out for wagers. If all else fails, you can wager against yourself. Just remember to publicly post what you are wagering against in the thread so that we can mark our calendars for when you'll post the video of you eating your hat. ;)Back on topic, it’s up to you to set the terms of your wagers. Any parties involved must come to an agreement on what the stakes will be, and on what games or series. It is also up to you - should you lose the wager - to honor the terms of the bet in a timely matter. Since we can’t personally enforce every single wager made, it is your responsibility to hold to account the people you make your wagers with. You have a handy tool to help keep track of this, something that we didn’t have during the original incarnation of Weekly Wager Wednesday, that being /u/RemindMeBot.If you are unfamiliar with this bot, you can check out the guide to the bot here, but the long and short of it is that you can get an automated message from it to send you a custom reminder at any time of your choosing. We recommend that you use this bot to make sure that you and the person you are betting with remember to honor your commitments. We love seeing the spoils of victory (or your greatest shame), so don't forget to share the aftermath of your wager with us on /r/HockeyWagers! If we love it, we'll give your wager a shout out on the following weekly thread.Things You Should Not Do In Your Wagers:As a rule of thumb, we ask that you do not make wagers where the winner receives any monetary amount. This is gambling, and we can get in trouble in multiple jurisdictions both domestic and international if we were to host such activities. Buying items for the winner is fine, such as pizzas, shot glasses and etc., but please use discretion in doing so.Likewise, we also recommend that you avoid wagers that could result in you being hospitalized, arrested, terminated from your job and et cetera. Simply put, exercise some common sense when making your wagers. We also ask that any minors participating to use extreme caution if you choose to participate in these threads. Make sure you have your parents’ permission, and NEVER give away personal information about yourself to strangers. Ideally, we would prohibit minors from participating in the first place, but we can’t always discern for ourselves which people online are minors or not. If you say you’re an adult, we’re taking your word for it. However, we will enforce users who participates in wagers that are age-inappropriate for themselves, or coerce minors into doing acts that would be considered unlawful. For the sake of making sure /r/hockey doesn't get spammed with low effort posts and comments, we ask that you do not make flair swaps or comment modifications wagers. These wagers have flooded /r/hockey during WWW's inception, and it made things more frustrating for the mods than it needed to be. Likewise, we ask that you do not make wagers that involve posting spam or low effort content on other subreddits. Any wager that involves posting content on another subreddit should be topical to their forum and in full compliance with their rules. Trolling will not be tolerated. Some Final Notes:If there are any questions or concerns regarding Weekly Wager Wednesday, we ask that you message the mods on /r/HockeyWagers, not /r/hockey. I have also added a dedicated thread in the comments below where you can ask us HockeyWagers mods any pressing questions you have. Be mindful that we have personal lives like you do, and that we might not have the time to answer your questions immediately. Please be patient with us, and we'll do our best to get back to you as soon as we can.Because the Capitals and Hurricanes have one more game to play tonight, we will have a dedicated comment thread for wagers on that specific game. We will also have threads for the potential second round matchups that could result from tonight's game. Should that specific match-up not come to fruition, you are not obligated to honour any wagers made in that particular thread. Now that we've got all that nonsense out of the way, let's get to it! Remember to have fun, but most of all, be daring! Fortune favours the bold!Happy Wagering! Weekly Wager Wednesday Returns! Source

Quarterly Goals: Jan-Mar 2017
Hello people of Tumblr! It’s been a long time since I’ve made a post, and so first and foremost I would like to say I hope you are all having a fabulous new year so far! So today’s post is something new I am attempting in order to keep myself productive and that is quarterly goals. So, why am I making a post about this? Mostly to keep myself accountable and make sure I’m actually being productive these next few months. Initially I was just going to make these goal writer oriented, but as a college student, that promises to be a disaster since I have many other things that need to be a priority. So, here is my first ever list of quarterly goals for the months January through March. In April I will post again to say how I did, so either I can celebrate publicly or completely shame myself on the internet! Let’s get started:
1. Go to the gym at least once a week. I’ll be honest, this goal is NOT something I want to try, but a good friend of mine is begging me to do this with him and I guess I’ll bite the bullet and try to be healthy for once... we’ll see if this is attainable for someone as lazy as me.
2. Cut down on consumption of Pepsi. Wow look at all the healthiness I’m attempting. Just so you all understand, most writers are addicted to coffee or tea, but my drink of choice has always been Pepsi, and I’ve tried to cut down before and it never really worked so... let’s see I guess.
3. Finish writing current draft of WIP. I’m already over half way through so this hopefully should be completed relatively quickly.
4. Start outlining WIP. Okay, yes, I know people say you’re supposed to outline first. That can be true. But I have a special process that I’m also implementing during 2017 to help fix some of my insecurities. So I outline before typing the first official draft, and right now I’m hand writing the roughest draft I’ll have in a cute little journal. So no judgement there.
5. Start thought dumping for next WIP. I know what it’s going to be, but I need to start getting ideas down even if I don’t write it any time soon.
6. Create and stick to a steady study schedule. Studying is the devil, but the kind that will actually keep me in college.
7. Maintain straight A’s this quarter. As I am in college, this is a hefty goal for me but I’m praying I’ll figure things out enough to make it so.
8. Get a job. This one is not something I’m necessarily looking forward to, but hopefully money will be a good thing in college.
9. Start search for writer buddies. So if you’re a writer who likes dorky people that write a lot of fantasy and ramble on for hours about books and want to hear all your thoughts of books and storylines, hit me up!
10. Start being active on social media. I tried to force myself to do this over the summer, so let’s see if I’ll find the will to stick with it now!
11. Sort through clothes and make decisions on what to donate/throw out. Getting new clothes is always fun but I often forget to look through the rest that I haven’t worn in years.
12. Go out more to experience life. As an introvert, this one sounds fun but semi-impossible. But if I don’t experience life, how will I ever be able to write about life, right?
13. Read at least three books recreationally. I got so caught up last semester with homework and stress I forgot reading can be fun, and I’m determined to make sure I remember to have fun and read.
14. Sort through bookshelf- at home and at school. I didn’t realize how many books I took from my dad that I’m just never going to read, so it’s time to sort through these and get them out and free up space.
15. Make time to get to know professors. So everyone says how important office hours are and... I went to one last semester, because I had to for an assignment. This time I’m going to make a genuine effort to get to know the people who are trying to prepare me for my future.
16. Fix the procrastination issue. Considering I wrote this list yesterday and told myself to post it as soon as it was done... I have some work to do here. I like to procrastinate a little too much.
Well there you have it, sixteen shiny goals to complete by the end of March. Around the first week of April I will be announcing how I’ve done, so be sure to tune in, in case I fail! Who doesn’t love a good public humiliation online? Well, hopefully it won’t be humiliating and instead uplifting!
