used to be so obsessed with 'please call stella ask her to bring these things with her from the store[...]" and i still love listening to stuff on the speech accent archive but ive been reading so much english dialectology stuff recently and just so many of the dialectal sound contrasts i'm most interested in hearing are actually just not represented in it (its actually crazy realizing it doesn't even properly have tokens for distinguishing even just like. the cot/caught merger bc the only instances of /ɔ/ in an american english dialect i can think of being in the paragraph are "call", "all", "bob", "store" and "frog" which like. stuff before liquids is kinda different, bob grouped into that lexical set is super regional, and then the pronunciation of "og" words is really inconsistent even among american english speakers who otherwise don't have the merger

basically once i graduate i want to craft my own paragraph that accomplishes exactly what i want to investigate and then ask my friends and family to read it so i can understand very specifically to my experiences what i've been exposed to throughout my life. it sounds so fun

Greed leaving Ling's body will forever haunt me because I can't stop thinking about Ling feeling empty inside now that he's gone. Being just a little bit angry at him for letting go of his hand, even if he knows it would've meant going with him. It's just the frustration of filling Greed's emptiness with love right before his death but in consequence, Greed leaving him a deeper, hollower sting in his heart. It's not the need for love but the lack of it, always remembering how it felt inside and knowing it will never be the same again and having to live with it.

but i’ve also been kinda thinking cos its kinda hard to classify who would be who- like yeah ok ed rocking that red costume and ling being that classic funky lil guy who gets angry sometimes and is too greedy for his own good sometimes

but like it also works the other way around right where ling is the good ol ladybug who just wants to do right for his people while Ed has a shitty father, no mother, and like, angry sometimes. like i’d go on and on about this if i had to because sometimes when i’m thinking about it, it all works out somewhat (but idk where al went <:0 ) also the hair would be like the same as og miraculous lady bug which is kinda sick

getting the urge again to stop everything to just go really in depth with a conlang using everything i know about tonology and prosody. need to make a language with lexical or grammatical tone where the underlying structure cant just be handwaved away as 'this syllable in this word is pronounced with this tone' so bad
