out of curiosity, ever interested in any other pnf ships? carl & mono, buford & baljeet, vanessa & candace, various others?

when it comes to ships i'm either all about one OTP or i'm a multishipper and pnf is definitely a case where i'm laser-focused on the ship that interests me, for the specific reasons it interests me (its textual richness, the interspecies). but yeah i have tons of hot Ship Opinions, it's just my feelings on them are a magnitude weaker.

carlmono i've posted about, it can be boring or it can be amazing. i think mono -- wait carl/MONO?? i just assumed you wrote monty. that's so funny sorry give me a minute. ok carl and monogram are just smithers and monty burns, except they made smithers be a teenager, but it took the writers a while to decide he was a teen, so s1 of pnf is all these gay jokes about them. it's really funny. then they made it daddy issues instead. it's just fascinating to watch. i don't ship this. i love carl.

bujeet is a ship i feel like i should love but somehow don't, i can't explain it, but i'm also very grateful that it's essentially canonical. two great funny characters in a very weird s&m dynamic together. it's distinct from doof&perry in that both of these guys can really stand on their own with other characters, and you don't feel the absence of their significant other so much. (whenever doof is onscreen and perry isn't i'm standing up screaming where's perry). so they're destined for a long terrible future of gettogethers and breakups.

vanessa/candace is kind of boring, as it stands. i really crave more definition of vanessa's character outside of "dispassionate goth teen" and more depth of relationship with characters who aren't her dad. i hope s5 can give us some of that, i know olivia has mentioned advocating for more vanessa rep in the new eps. but we haven't even seen her in any previews. so we don't even know if she's still pink like she was in MML. anyway i do think vanessa/stacy could be cool but still, who are you, vanessa? i need to know.
