why do I have to see Murray’s balding ass???? according to the duffers and stranger things writing process, he’s served his purpose—should’ve been gone after S3 if not S2 so why do I have to see him over and over again? why did this fucker get a call so he can keep pointing out the obvious?
they’ll keep the raging z*onist but not Kali (Eleven’s sister character who was meant to just be edgy but brought so much depth to herself AND El, 008, test subject with fucking powers that would be beneficial in taking down Vecna) or Argyle (literal ride or die who got roped into the upside down business, was shot at with his friends, buried a dead body, drove across the country to reunite the group, is linked to the group in multiple ways, played a similar role as Robin’s in ST3 but apparently he doesn’t get to stay).
they’ll keep the ugly, old white guy who is just a companion at this point but not the POCs that go MIA after they’re used to further the plot for a white main character.
I get people are upset that Eduardo didn't get a call to say he wasn't coming back to season 5 but, guys remember these actors are under heavy NDAs. Even if Argyle is coming back, in any capacity, Eduardo would not be able to reveal that. Maybe they filmed the pre-time-skip stuff already, as some people have theorised, and Argyle doesn't come back after that for whatever reason. Maybe Argyle is in the full season but they're not filming his scenes until later so he hasn't been called in yet. In either circumstance, he wouldn't be able to confirm that since it would be a spoiler, however minor.
The same goes for Kali. If she's coming back, they're not going to spoil that by showing pictures of Linnea Berthelsen on set. Don't leap to the worst conclusions just because actors who can't say anything are giving the only answers they can.
this is the only time i will ever speak about st on this blog, but the show should've centered around Kali & she should've been canonically sapphic.
(if you're in any way interested in what i actually mean, i suggest reading the tags. i tend to elaborate there more often than in actual posts- i'm trying to break the habit, but it's where we are rn.)
Hola personitas. Venimos con un aporte que nos ha costado un tiempito reunir. Es posible que algunos PB tengan 1 añito más de lo que pone, porque igual cumplieron recién. Esperamos les guste ^^
Given the overwhelmingly positive comments on Linnea Berthelsen’s instagram, (they all want her back) there may be a tiny sliver of hope Kali may make a return.
That said, I really hope that it’s not some Avengers Endgame -type last minute reveal with her only serving to team up with the good guys against the big bad, and that we’ll actually see her involved in the emotional arcs and character development in the upcoming season.
With what we’ve theorized regarding a Mike/El breakup, I think it’s safe to assume we’re set to see El embark on some kind of emancipation and self-rediscovery journey, aside from saving the world, of course. I would love for her to reconnect with her long lost sister. Perhaps Kali could teach El more about the world and overcoming teenagehood. And in return, El could help Kali take a next step in healing from their shared trauma. Perhaps Kali could provide additional help in trying to recover Max. The Duffers have loved introducing new characters each season, and since they’ve promised they wouldn’t this time, this would be a great cop-out.
The possibilities are endless, and I hope the Duffers don’t completely abandon the idea just because there was one a bit poorly performing episode years ago.
The Duffers said we can expect revelations in S5 about Henry at the lab and how Brenner started his program, so I think it means we’ll learn about Brenner’s researches about the origins of his powers and how the HNL chose accordingly certain kids to be trained and become like 001. That’s how we may learn things about Will and Joyce (or even Jonathan in S1 when he felt Joyce’s presence in the UD): not that they were lab numbers themselves but why they seem to be” force-sensitive” at least. It’s obvious to me that the Duffers had already a vague idea about it in S1: they named their main character 011, not Jane or One, so they had something in mind about the others kids before El and what is their "force".
Force sensitive! That's right. I think I had this realization that that's a similar concept to what I've been trying to describe all this time but I forgot.
To the people confused about the concept of the Byers being sensitive or having "potential", that's what I'm talking about. I'm not a mega Star Wars fan, but I'm sure everyone knows what being force sensitive means, and that just because your force sensitive doesn't exactly mean you're gonna become a jedi or sith or whatever.
As for how much the Duffers had planned for the numbers, they probably didn't have ALL the numbers planned out, but I think they always had plans for 001, 008, and 011.
El is obviously one of the main characters so having a plan for her is a given.
008 was originally meant to be a guy. "The Lost Sister" was originally "The Lost Brother".
According to the show's co-creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, Eleven's sister in the second season of Stranger Things was originally meant to be a 30-year-old man.
Eleven's backstory got a lot more complex when we were introduced to Kali, played by Linnea Berthelsen. The episode where Eleven and Kali meet is titled "Lost Sister;" however, it was originally titled "The Lost Brother." Matt Duffer explained that this idea quickly changed over the course of the casting process, reports Vulture. "Initially, we were looking for a guy. Eleven would have a brother and we were looking at like 30-year-old men – which is hard to wrap my head around now," Duffer shared at this year's Vulture Festival in Los Angeles.

But when it came to casting said older "brother", it seems it didn't really work out so they widened the concept out to include younger people as well as women and voila.
As for 001, I believe they already had plans for him. Maybe not his identity, backstory, goals, or even a name, but the idea of him must have been sketched out from the getgo. A test subject trapped in the Upside Down trying to puppet things from across the rift.
It's clear to me they definitely had the idea for him, but not the details because while he overall fits in the overall narrative of Stranger Things, some of the details are a bit messy and have some friction with the preestablished lab story.
Based on an interview with Jody Houser (the main Stranger Things comic author), the only thing she wasn't allowed to expand on and make up was anything about 001.
So yeah. Maybe through Owens eyes we'll get a more subjective distant view of what was going on in that lab. He's locked up with the military right now, but I'm sure he's gonna be a source of info dump whether it's for the good guys or the military (in which case, only the audience would have that information for a while)
the obvious first answer is buddie but they're not a crackship, they're real in my heart and i will continue to live in a world where they exist lol
one of my out there ones that im probably the only person in the world who ships is steve and kali from stranger things lmao
they've never even met on the show but im hoping they bring her back for s5- imagine that dynamic! also joe keery is 5'11" and linnea berthelsen is 5'0" LOOK AT THAT HEIGHT DIFFERENCE
do the duffers know how much of a slay it would be if kali makes a reappearance? the chill in my spine i would get if i hear the dulcet tones of linnea berthelsen’s voice once again? the mega tension of not only another sibling reunion of her and el, but one with her and henry? imagine the rest of the characters finally learning about the only other surviving number. Oh my god
kama (linnea berthelsen) is a half fae, who will burn down all the courts of parilok (aka the indian realm of the fae) whilst sporting dyed purple hair and wearing all black as well as steel toed boots in order to get her lover - thought to be very human but turned out to be a changeling - rati (geraldine viswanathan) back.
