So, I recently stumbled upon a Reddit AMA with the wonderful Randy Havens, who plays Scott, and there’s a lot of great stuff in there (the interview is from pre-S2), but one of the main things that caught my eye is the fact that the Duffers gave Randy zero information about Scott’s background, which makes sense because they’re notoriously secretive (Raphael Luce didn’t even know he was playing 001 until the day it was fake-tattooed on his wrist, and Robert Englund talked in this interview about how secretive ST production is), and so, if Scott’s backstory is connected to Henry, then it makes sense for them to keep it under wraps even from Randy.

The other thing that caught my eye is Randy talking about how Scott was an emotional wreck over Will’s death.

Which, when we look at these screenshots, Scott says that he gets it. He understands- he knows what it’s like to lose a friend. He literally says that he knows how hard it is.

Scott’s clearly experienced something very similar before, and considering how often Will and Henry are paralleled, I’m staring DIRECTLY at Henry. And sure, it makes sense to be upset by the death of a student, but something about Scott being an emotional wreck over it AND saying that he gets it/knows how hard it is to experience the death of a friend, is rattling the Creelarke cells in my brain.
