Not gonna lie - with more than 150 bills introduced in 35 states in 2023 that aimed to restrict student access to inclusive and diverse books and other library materials, the theme felt pretty radical.

And you DELIVERED. With the help of our Youth Voices (amazing queer youth activists from across the country), we compiled your amazing submissions of poetry, short essays and letters, visual art, photography, and more into Queerbook 2024. Like a yearbook, it captures what queer youth are feeling, going through, and hoping for - right here, right now across the U.S.

His muscle memory when he sings SOTT is spot on. They had night 7 and 8 side by side singing and his movements and mouth and sound were identical! I looked at her and said sweetie, you aren’t that naive are you. Please tell me you are not. And she asked why I would say that. I reminded her of a conversation we had recently about Milli Vanilli. The light bulb went bright! Harries refuse to see it! ///---

I took classical singing lessons as a kid from like 2-3 yo to grade 5. I was not necessarily trained to be a professional but I knew how to sing then. Our teacher made us sing infront of a mirror so that we can observe facial movements and expressions during difficult notes, the way we moved our bodies especially diaphragm while taking a breath. Ngl some of us looked like we're scrambling to take a breath while swimming in the pacific. She always used to say singers should not make "unpleasant faces" as that might look like a sore thumb to the audience. The next step was to sit in pairs and sing infront of each other so the other can observe and give a peer assesment. I have a point bare with me😅

Harry in that video looks identical sure. He could have practiced a million times infront of a mirror who knows. BUT notice the way he only moves his shoulders and neck, while the throat muscles are barely moving and the lack of movement in his diaphragm makes him look like vampire bella attempting to breathe like a human??????!?? He's doing something on stage but he's 100% not actively singing.

PS: the audience behind him... are they bored or tired ? They're not even moving and some are not even attempting to hold that light thingy up in the air 😭 they're so immobile like 🧍‍♂️🧍‍♂️🧍‍♂️🧍‍♂️🧍‍♂️🧍‍♂️🧍‍♂️🧍‍♂️, creeps me out a little.

I had to track down the video to actually look at Harry’s neck and throat muscles. Yeah. None of the laryngeal or strap muscles are moving as they would if he were singing. His diaphragm and chest aren’t moving like a singer’s. No sound is coming out of his mouth. 2.7 million views on Harry lip syncing.

Does he do this every night on concert?

I guess Harry sings SOTT close to the end of his set, so his voice probably isn’t at its best, and it’s a tough song to sing. Harry could have brought the key down a few notes or sing something else. But this is pretty obvious.

People mad about Rihanna lip-syncing but I recall a long time ago, reading that there are reasons songs are prerecorded. And one reason is that the cold from February air messes with your ability to belch out notes like you’re supposed to. Imagine if the cold messed with her singing, Rihanna would’ve been demonized for not being able to sing. (I don’t know if that’s the genuine reason as I don’t know how cold it was where she was at. But it’s common to lip-sync for halftime for this reason.)

But one other reason I found out today is because it is part of NFL policy to prerecord music and it is the singers’ choice to sing with or over the music. But the prerecorded music is still there, regardless. It’s simply used as a safety net.

Why does it matter if it is Rihanna’s true voice? If her songs were prerecorded during rehearsal, why does it matter that she doesn’t sing it completely live? Her voice is still there, just not on that particular day 😏
