I’m sorry but the thought of Eddie putting on a TERRIBLE cockney accent is the funniest thing to me. Imagine he speaks with one for a solid MONTH when he’s involved backstage with the community theatre production of Oliver Twist. Wayne and Steve tearing their collective hair out because Eddie is scream singing ‘I’D DO ANYFINK! FOR YEW DEAR ANYFINK!!!’ And ‘FEWD GLORIOUS FEWD!!! HOT SAWSAGE AN MUSTA’D!’
Eddie pretending to steel from everyone ‘I’m just a li’tol pick pocket ain’t I sir?’ As he he’s caught with his hands in Dustin’s backpack looking for snack.
In the middle of the night steve thinks eddie is asleep when he hears a little reedy voice ‘awrigh guvna, shine ya shoes? Penny a pair!’ Steve hits him with a pillow but then Eddie is pulling him into his arms and Steve is hiding his laughter in Eddie’s neck.
Eventually Oliver Twist wraps up, everyone is grateful for the end of cockney Eddie. Until one day Gareth almost knocks down Steve’s door and shoves the poster for the next community play: Mary Poppins. Of course Eddie makes it a personal goal to create an accent more obnoxious than Dick Van Dyke as he works on the costumes for the cast

We talk a lot about Steve getting into Eddie's interests- playing D&D, listening to metal, having Eddie read LotR to him- and some people have written about Eddie getting into Steve's interests, but there's still quite an imbalance. So here are my thoughts on what aspects of Steve's life Eddie gets excited about.
Eddie really enjoys listening to music with Steve. While he may be a metalhead, that doesn't mean that's the only genre he listens to, and to limit him to that would be an injustice to his character. First and foremost Eddie likes music. He likes music that pushes boundaries and experiments with sound and makes people think. What a hypocrite he'd be if he refused to listen to anything outside his preferred genre.
One of his favorite things to do with Steve is swap music. They'll sit and alternate playing Slayer and Electric Light Orchestra, Dio and Billy Joel. They'll pick up new tapes from artists neither have heard of and talk about what they do and don't like about them. They like discovering tapes they have in common in their collections- Fleetwood Mac, Queen, and Led Zeppelin, to name a few.
They go to concerts together regularly as dates. Mostly local groups neither has heard of before, but always enjoyable.
Eddie figures out early on in their relationship that Steve likes to sing. That he's good at it. That he thought about a musical theatre career but decided he didn't want to deal with all the rejection that comes with auditioning. Eddie decides to learn all of Steve's favorite songs- pop and otherwise- on guitar so Steve can sing along when he plays. So that when Eddie is mindlessly strumming while trying to get out restless energy, Steve will know some of the songs. He even gets Steve onstage a couple times for some slower songs after they've been together a while.
Eddie listens to Top 40 hits with Steve (though he'd never admit that to the kids. Not because he's ashamed, but because they would never stop teasing him about how gone he is for Steve if they knew), and learns Steve's favorite tracks so he can play them for him.
It took a very long time, but after seeing how legitimately excited Steve gets over sports, Eddie decided to give that a try too. He watches games with Steve, tapes them for him when Steve has a long shift and can't watch it live. He still doesn't quite understand the rules and mixes up terms, but he can admit that it's fun to try and follow along and predict strategies and bemoan bad ref calls.
Steve has even gotten Eddie to go to a few games in person with him. It didn't take much convincing, Eddie talks a big talk, but he's a sucker for spending time with Steve and seeing him happy. He's come to the conclusion that being in a crowd at a sports game isn't all that different from being in a crowd at a concert (as far as people gathering to watch a common interest goes), and energy is infectious. He ends up liking the first game he attends much more than he anticipated.
It helps that he likes trying to get the Kiss Cam to show him and Steve.

New post: "EDDIE REDMAYNE & GAYLE RANKIN BRING AUDIENCES INTO THE KIT KAT CLUB"
FRANK DILELLA | FEBRUARY 6, 2024.
Starting April 1, a hearty “Willkommen” awaits at the enticing and electrifying Kit Kat Club (a.k.a., the August Wilson Theatre) on 52nd Street on Broadway. The London transfer of the 2022 Olivier Award–winning revival of Cabaret is one of the most highly anticipated musicals of the spring season. Tony-winning actor Eddie Redmayne is set to reprise his performance of the Emcee, a role he won an Olivier for when he opened the show in the West End. He’ll be joined by actress Gayle Rankin, who is new to this production of Cabaret, taking on the show’s leading lady, Sally Bowles. Entertainment journalist for Spectrum News NY1 Frank DiLella caught up with both Redmayne and Rankin to talk their love of Cabaret and much more.
Eddie, congratulations on the Broadway transfer of this brilliant revival. How are you feeling knowing you’re once again taking on the Emcee in Cabaret?
EDDIE REDMAYNE: Thanks so much. Honestly, this is one of the pieces that made me fall in love with theater as a kid, so the fact that I got to play this iconic part on stage professionally in London was truly a bucket-list moment fulfilled. But when I was about 9 or 10, I became oddly obsessed with New York. London was home, but I was always looking at photographs of New York, researching the place. When I eventually came to the city and went to Times Square, it was one of those completely overwhelming sensations. I remember my whole body reacting. So the idea that I now get the chance to play this part in this show that I’m so passionate about in the mecca of musical theater — which is Broadway — is beautifully daunting and also 100 percent thrilling!
Gayle, Cabaret seems to be your show. You were part of the 2014 Roundabout revival with Alan Cumming — you played Fraulein Kost.
GAYLE RANKIN: I can’t tell you how moving it is to have worked on Cabaret a decade ago, and after lovingly letting it go, it’s come back to me with the gargantuan gift of Sally. [Laughs.] It is my show! I feel wildly privileged to be able to say that. I know I have to continue to earn that privilege because of what the show is and what it means. But I have never felt more ready to do that now, inside of this amazing production and with this incredible group of artists.
Eddie, when were you first introduced to Cabaret?
ER: I was first introduced to it when I was in school; I was around 15 or 16, and there was a little production being done at my school. And that was the first time I listened to the music. I remember hunting down all the possible CD versions I could find. I remember looking for a production to see, but there were none playing in London, so the very first production I ever saw of Cabaret was, randomly, the Spanish version in Madrid — and it was the Sam Mendes version, but in Spanish! I was 19 and completely blown away. Since then, I saw Emma Stone and Alan Cumming do it brilliantly in New York, and of course Rufus Norris’s version in London. I’m a sort of Cabaret junkie.
How about you, Gayle?
GR: The first time I was introduced to it was when I was in a musical-theater program in Scotland and one of the other young women had been given the song “Maybe This Time,” and I remember being like, “Wow! What a song!” That’s when I was introduced to Cabaret as a property.
Eddie, it’s my understanding that you were instrumental with making this production of Cabaret take shape.
ER: Ha! It’s been a long old road. After I did Cabaret in school in my late teens, there was an amateur production of Cabaret going to the Edinburgh Festival, and I got cast in that, and the venue that we were doing the show in was called The Underbelly. It was dark and damp and people were sitting around tables. I loved every minute, and it affirmed my want to be an actor. The guys who set up that venue became producers professionally and the Underbelly transformed to become a brilliant venue and producing house in the U.K. They approached me about seven years ago and asked if I would ever consider doing Cabaret again. It had always been on my bucket list, and I thought long and hard about it — as I said, it’s dream territory. Then Jessie Buckley leapt into my mind, who is an extraordinary actor and singer, and she and I plotted together. We both approached the brilliant director Rebecca Frecknall, and piece by piece this thing built momentum. But it had been done so beautifully and vividly before, we only wanted to do it if we could find a new way in, something that perhaps hadn’t been explored before.  And with Rebecca, the brilliant Tom Scutt, Julia Cheng, and Jordan Fein — our designer, choreographer, and prologue director — we took on this idea of inviting an audience through the underbelly of the theatre, taking them through this experience so by the time they arrive in the theatre, they’ve truly left all their troubles outside.
Eddie, you’re taking on one of the great roles of the musical theater, the Emcee, and I have to say, having seen you on stage in London, your Emcee is different compared to Joel Grey’s and Alan Cumming’s.
ER: I think one of the reasons he’s such an appealing part is because he’s one of the most enigmatic parts that I’ve ever read, witnessed, or experienced. The Emcee was a part that was created by Joel and Hal Prince [director of the original Cabaret] to join scenes together. He has no literary basis. So in some ways, the part exists in an abstract way. One of the things that I tried to do when I first started was I attempted to rationalize him and create a backstory. But the second you try to pin him down, he falls flat — he’s too quixotic for that. In the end it became trying to find a way into him physically and through instinct alone. It felt like a high-wire act. But a thrilling one.
Gayle, Sally Bowles is one of the great female roles in musical theater. Who is your Sally?
GR: My Sally is close to me. I think she’s only to be known truly by me. Sally can infamously live in a space where she can be pitied to people, and I don’t think that’s the whole story. There’s more to be told about her. And I feel compelled to take that on.
Do you feel that your experience of doing the 2014 Cabaret revival with Alan Cumming, where you played a Kit Kat Club girl and Fraulein Kost, prepped you for Sally?
GR: How could it not? For something to live inside of you both consciously and unconsciously — I hope I’ve evolved as a person and as an artist, and I feel like I’ve never been more ready to take Sally on. And I feel like I’m a big enough girl to admit the 2014 production — I was not in a place or was the right person to play Sally even though I had the time of my life with that show.
Sally gets some amazing musical moments. “Maybe This Time,” “Cabaret,” “Don’t Tell Mama” … Favorite tune in the show?
GR: It’s always been “I Don’t Care Much” [sung by the Emcee]. Sally’s songs are almost too meaningful; I can’t pick one, they’re like children. [Laughs.] But there’s something about “I Don’t Care Much” that’s so essential to the conversation and the story and lives inside of all those characters. This longing for hope during so much horror. That song just moves me.
Gayle, take me to your opening night, when you take your bow as Sally Bowles.
GR: [Laughs.] Frank! What a question. Now I’m crying. My niece will be there, and she’s 12, and I’ll probably be looking at her. I’ll probably be tired. [Laughs.] I think I’m going to be really happy.
This show is quite the experience. Give a little preview of what New York audiences can expect once they enter the Kit Kat Club.
ER: I can’t paint that picture for you just yet because it’s in the process of being built and designed by Tom Scutt. Tom Scutt is one of the most thrilling creative minds I’ve had the privilege to work with. What his plans are for New York are completely captivating. The idea is that you’re brought in as an audience not through the conventional way of the theatre — you’re met by an entire prologue cast of dancers and musicians. You are submerged into the world of Cabaret from the second you pass the threshold. For me, I hope it makes the experience — you will feel like you’re part of an all-consuming event. You will also get to witness Gayle’s Sally — Gayle is a volcano of talent — Bebe Neuwirth’s Fraulein Schneider, Ato Blankson-Wood’s Cliff, Steven Skybell’s Schultz. A staggering ensemble — the list goes on. So many exciting things.
Eddie, you’re following in the footsteps of two celebrated actors who played the role of the Emcee: Joel Grey and Alan Cumming. Any interaction with them?
ER: I haven’t with Alan since I’ve played it. I met Alan in Los Angeles years ago and he’s just an extraordinary talent. Joel, I had never met, but then I got through the first act of Cabaret on opening night in London, and at the interval some flowers arrived and I opened the card and it was from Joel Grey. And in the midst of our opening night show, opening his generous card was one of the great moments.
I was so haunted by this production when I saw it in London. The time feels right to see and experience Cabaret.
ER: There is something so searingly relevant with this piece. And I feel like whenever Cabaret is being done, it’s relevant. But with what’s going on in the world today, I feel like it’s a cautionary tale — it sings loudly and clear and it’s this idea of the fear of the other. The political gain of “othering” people. And that constant repetition of scapegoating and hatred is what we’re seeing in our politics now.
GR: I’m not sure what John Kander and Fred Ebb and Joe Masteroff were channeling when they were writing this — they were able to tap into something that’s so cyclical. And as a humanity, I think we all hope that Cabaret becomes not as relevant as it is.

The Boomtown Rats
BOOMING GOOD!
"The Boomtown Rats are 1977 pop," quoted lead singer Bob Geldof, (left), in one of the band's early press releases. He was right! Now, two years later, the band have improved with age and are ready to conquer the world. At present, they're just finishing off their massive tour of America where they've been proving to folks that Ireland doesn't just produce leprechauns!
If you've seen the Rats on television, you'll understand why singer Geldof is known as the group's 'spokesman'. In fact, he's rarely seen with his mouth shut! But then, Bob's always been used to getting his own way and letting his words convince people that he knows best.
"When I was a kid back home, I used to have this treehouse in the back garden. My mates and I would spend lots of time up there, but our main occupation would be getting all the little girls to come up and play," confessed the Rat.
"In Ireland in those days, bubblegum was hard to come by, as it was a new product on the market. But my dad used to be able to get me huge supplies of the stuff on his travels as a salesman. So I'd use the bubble gum to tempt the girls into my tree!"
And where has Bob inherited all his Irish blarney from? His dad, Bob Geldof Senior.
"All our folks just love the success the Rats have had. My dad now keeps getting mail addressed to him to pass on to me. One time someone wrote asking for a signed pic of Bob Geldof. So dad played a smart one. He dug out a photo of himself in his youth, all browned with age (the photo, not dad!), signed the back with love and kisses, and posted it! But he did attach a little note to say, 'Think it's my son, Bob Junior, you were wanting a photo of.'"
In fact, all the Rats' families are keen followers of the group. And drummer Simon Crowe's granny lives next door to guitarist Gerry Cott's parents.
"Gran used to have her radio on all the time listening out for our records to be played," explained Simon. "If one would come on, she'd start rapping really hard on the adjoining wall to Gerry's parents to let them know to turn on the radio!" Keeping it in the family extends to the group itself, too. Pete Briquette and Johnnie Fingers are cousins.
It's amazing when you find out that the boys in The Rats hadn't played seriously with any other groups before joining up to form the Boomtowns.
"I used to be a freelance writer for a rock paper… their Dublin correspondent, no less!" explained Bob. "About the time the punk boom was beginning, we used to occasionally get the bands coming to Ireland to play. One time, we all went to see Eddie And The Hot Rods. Anyway, not one of us was very impressed with them. We though [sic] 'Well, if they can do it then so can we.' So we went out and got ourselves together as a band!"
Together with their manager, Fachtna O'Kelly, another old friend, they set out to conquer London's record companies with their demotapes. The Rats didn't have far to search as everybody was soon vying with each other to sign them. The Rats were also lucky that their first major tour in England was as support to American punk heroes, The Ramones. Another first major concert they played was as support to Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers at London's famous Rainbow Theatre. Press reports after that gig said that the Rats 'stole the show'. The whole band next moved to a house by Whipsnade Zoo, which they all still share when they're not on tour around the world.
If anyone should ask 'Has success changed the Boomtown Rats?' then the answer would be 'Johnnie Fingers still walks around in pyjamas and Bob Geldof is even more talkative than ever!' The group have always said that they're a band out to conquer people everywhere and they've always classed their music as pop. They admit they don't mind doing anything to get some publicity, from the time they drove down the Dublin streets in an open truck, loud music playing, getting arrested in the bargain, to Bob doing photo sessions that call for him to pose with girls for covers of teenage magazines. Or even to bend backwards and hang his head upside-down so the photographer could snap him, mouth agape and tongue hanging out! Yep, there's nothing they won't do if you ask 'em nicely.
And now they've conquered America! They've been knocking 'em in the aisles Stateside with all the old favourites like Rat Trap (their 'anthem' now after its terrific success in Britain last year), Like Clockwork, Do The Rat and all the others.
It would be nice to have a new single from them here, though, wouldn't it? Apparently, one was planned for this spring, but America beckoned, and there wasn't time to produce it - and the boyos weren't too keen on the alternative, lifting another track from Tonic For The Troops.
So for all you Rat fans - keep hoping!

Mile High Midnights: Fresh Blood
This is fanfic of my own character from a V5 game I was in, in case anyone was unsure of the levels of nerd and former theatre kid we're dealing with here.
CW: vampires, deformity (no ableism), sword
The message is barely hidden in the code, which is itself a message.
“Omaha was sloppy.”
Obviously. But she came out ahead, without using him or his name. Which is, of course, his actual problem with Omaha.
She wipes the server and his hardly secret note. She doesn’t leave one in response.
Her security system pings, and she watches the log populate Landry’s iris scan along with the time and date. The outer door glides open and closes again with a satisfying ka-chunk. The system logs Landry’s code on the inner door as she opens the panel to the physical lock. Landry is quiet and careful with her key, but Crook is listening for it.
“The deadbolt ruins the Matrix vibe you’ve got going on.”
Crook glances sideways at the falchion strapped to Landry’s back. “We can’t all be red carpet ready, Eric Brooks.” Crook taps the nearest keyboard with one deformed hand. “Can’t hack metal and wood.”
Landry grins and leans against a server rack. “So what’d you find?”
“A goddamn miracle,” Crook mutters. She flips open the notebook in front of her and shows the illegible scrawl to Landry. “You were right, some of Pasteur’s work did survive the fire, but it wasn’t saved and traded by cultists or collectors or devotees, the Prince himself kept it.”
Landry’s dark eyes go wide. “That is… both better and worse than I was hoping for.”
“You still want it?”
“Maybe? Yes. I don’t know.” She paces in the small room. “Yes, definitely. But I think the whole angle’s changed. This isn’t ‘intimidate some fanboys into giving us their memorabilia,’ it’s ‘kiss Eddie’s ass until he lets us play with his toys.’”
“We’re not totally in the dark, for whatever that’s worth.” Crook’s twisted hands fly over two different keyboards. “We know he has a lair under CCM, and if you give me enough time I can figure out which banks he’s got vaults at. Extortion is always an option.”
“Right,” Landry nods. “Do you have any plans that don’t involve larceny or threatening the Prince of the city that just offered you sanctuary?”
Crook hunches further into the distorted curve of her spine, glaring from under a curtain of pale hair. “Don’t act like I’m a charity case. I earned my spot here, and as it happens I do have an idea for diplomacy: Ajax is coming to town next week. Omaha didn’t light up like we hoped it would, so they asked Jo to pull some strings here for them. We can mingle and schmooze when Ajax presents themself to Ed.”
“Look at you, getting soft already!”
Crook snarls, Landry laughs, and the thrum of machines fills the ensuing silence.
“How did you expect Omaha to light up? You played nice with everyone, even Kalt until the very end. What’s left behind?”
A collection, neatly organized on dust-free shelves and proudly displayed, Crook thinks. “I don’t know,” she answers, mostly truthfully. “Rojas was very particular about handling Ramona on her own. At the time I chalked it up to her not trusting me, but thinking about it now… I don’t know. I guess we expected fallout in that direction.”
“There might still be.”
“And we’ll be ready if there is.”
~~~
Crook sits at a table in a private room, the end of the booth cut short to accommodate mobility aids. She watches Ajax watching the stage, all undercuts and fitted vests. They wear their grief the same way they wear their symbol of Tyler: lightly, subtly, belying the strength required to bear them.
Tonight, in this room, surrounded by kine and Kindred and those lost in the music, they’re just another fan. Wherever Ajax holds their past, it’s not an active participant in this scene, and Crook recognizes the fleeting feeling of gratitude.
She frowns down at her lap, running down a mental list. Yes, there’s still sound logic to keeping Ajax around, and the fondness is incidental. Might hurt when she needs to be done with them, but hey, her heart’s just as crooked as the rest of her.
Seventh Son finishes their set and the crowd disperses along with their energy. “Well,” Ajax says to the tension. “They certainly didn’t welcome us like that in Omaha.”
The Brujah ambassador—the Primogen title having been abandoned once Prince Edward formed the current Camarilla Council of Denver—laughs boisterously. In the admittedly limited time she’s known him, Crook hasn’t known Sampsa to do things any other way.
“We have fun here in Denver! I’m sure you’ll fit right in, if the rumors out of Omaha hold any truth.” He winks, oblivious to (or gauging) the tightness around Ajax’s smile.
“Oh, I don’t know about all that,” Ajax responds affably. Crook recalls a time Ajax affably broke a table in half with their bare hands.
The members of Seventh Son choose that moment to join the party. Led by Edward Williams, Toreador Prince of Denver, the band are still in high spirits from their set. Edward’s face is sun-weathered and lined from the years before his Embrace, his eyes dark and watchful. A performer’s aura surrounds him; better saboteurs than Crook could not catch this man off guard.
She’s met him only once before, at her own presentation. Her reputation had preceded her as well, along with an enthusiastic vote of confidence from Landry’s sire Roderick. To her absolute shock, Prince Edward held his own discussing the digital security of the various Elysia in Denver, and how Crook might benefit those teams. Toreader are usually too pretty to be true, and this one’s “bard of the people” act rings no less false to Crook.
“Welcome to Denver, Ajax of the Brujah.” Edward smiles broadly and reaches to shake Ajax’s hand. “I’m very sorry circumstances sent you from St. Louis, but I’m thankful someone with your understanding of crowd control and mob mentality has found their way to my domain. As you saw,” he gestures to the empty stage in front of them. “Large groups of kine are something I deal with regularly. Sheriff Leah will see to it that there is a place for you among her ranks.”
If only it were all as neat and tidy as that, Eddie my boy, Crook thinks. She catches Landry’s eye as the interested parties speak at the same time.
“Ajax, what are your credentials—”
“Clan Brujah requests—”
“On behalf of House Schrekt—”
Prince Edward raises a hand and closes it to a fist, like a conductor ending a symphony. Immediately the room falls silent. “Sheriff Leah, Ajax comes highly recommended by Prince Jo, as well as our very own Landry. You may conduct a full interview at Ajax’s earliest convenience after they’re settled in.
“Clan Brujah has full jurisdiction over our newest fellow, and I expect your people to assist them in getting their feet under them, Ambassador Sampsa. Several factions,” he gestures around the table, “are interested in Ajax’s capabilities and it would behoove your clan to guide them in navigating these invitations.
“Ambassador Roderick, your position as Ajax’s sponsor offers you a degree of authority in assignments, but none of you,” here he addresses the group at large, “supersedes Ajax’s own autonomy.” He nods at Ajax. “As Prince of this domain I’ve determined your most comfortable fit will be with Sheriff Leah, the specifics to be decided between the two of you. If you find yourself drawn elsewhere, I encourage you to make your case at Elysium. The independent Kindred is most comfortable in these modern nights.”
Crook was almost impressed at how much Eddie could make “shut up and do what I say” sound like a choice. Let the games begin.
A look from Crook to Ajax: just roll with it. The Prince, the Sheriff, the Ventrue ambassador, and the nasty ghoul representing the Nosferatu all notice. An affirmation from Ajax to the Prince, deferential but not subservient, like a friend acknowledging the other’s point. Crook appreciates the play, the Toreador ambassador doesn’t. Again the Ventrue ambassador watches raptly, and Crook notes to look into him. The Gangrel ambassador makes their boredom obvious. Introductions begin, with Roderick and Clan Tremere leading. Roderick overplays his hand, and Landry’s damage control only goes so far. Crook successfully leans on her history with Ajax without revealing much in Leah’s too-forward questions. At the end of the opening salvo Clan Tremere’s interests take the lead, at the cost of Ventrue and Brujah scrutiny. The Gangrel ambassador makes their excuses and the Prince reminds them about an upcoming Seventh Son show at Pelican Ponds. No one misses the threat. An inquiry from Brujah to Tremere, bold and over-familiar, putting them on the defensive. The situation is saved by the Toreador, Landry and the Nosferatu ghoul unable to mask their surprise. Crook remembers underestimating a Toreador in Omaha and nods a respectful thanks. Silence from the Ventrue and the Sheriff: the former curious, cold, calculating; the latter peevish and petulant. Between and beneath, asides: Ajax to Landry, Brujah to the Prince, Roderick to the Prince, the Prince to the ghoul, Crook to Ajax, Landry to the Prince, the Prince to the Toreador. Strings of conversations and queries and comments weaving a background to the scene at the foreground: a Kindred searches for sanctuary while their allies seek secrets and sorcery.
Crook has already offered her haven until Ajax can set up one of their own. Shortly before dawn, Landry meets them there.
“The sword really is so cool,” Ajax grins at Landry by way of greeting.
She unsheathes it to show off, just a little bit. “All right. So.”
Together, they reveal their observations and debate innuendos and intentions. The realization hits them like the dawn.
“Eddie wants us to break into his sanctuary.”
Can you make one where the reader is a ballerina and she also in hellfire. She tells the guys that she’s not going to make it to the next hellfire meet up and asks them to change it because she has a ballet recital that day. And everyone says no but Eddie because he wants to see her perform. And just be wants to see her in her ballet costume.
oh hell ya. i know nothing about ballet but i’ll try my best.
Tumblr media
the cafeteria today is busy, bustling students crowd the giant room and the permanent aroma of fried food lingers in the air. you’re sitting at your designated table with the rest of the hellfire club, using your fork to absentmindedly pick at your food.
the only thing occupying your mind is your dance recital. your brain repeats the memorized steps in your head, counting to the beat of the classical music that you’re softly humming to yourself.
a tray slams down next to you, making you jump out of your socks. “good day, my fellow knights!” eddie munson bellows loudly to the boys, making nearby tables turn and scowl at him, “and hello to you, m’lady.” he bows his head towards you, a proud smirk on his face.
the little nickname makes you blush, glancing up from your cold food to look at him with a smile. he mirrors the same look before stuffing his face with ranch coated french fries.
conversation buzzes around you, but your mind refuses to listen as you continue to repeat the choreography, “so, everyone ready for the campaign tonight?”
oh shit.
eddie’s words catch your attention, your eyes shooting up to look at him with a panicked look. before he notices you staring, your eyes dart back down to your cold green beans.
shit, shit, shit! how could you forget to find a sub for tonight? oh my god, he’s going to have you by the throat.
“earth to y/n?” eddie’s ring adorned hand waves in front of your face, snapping you back to reality.
“huh?.. what?” you glance around the table to see everyone staring at you.
“the campaign… did you hear anything i just said?” he almost scoffs. usually you’re very intent on listening to him, but today you’re out in left field somewhere.
“uhm- uh.. no?” your shoulders rise up to your ears, corner of your mouth twitching downward.
before he could make fun of you any farther, you open your mouth to cut him off, “i actually… can’t tonight. i have a ballet recital. i kind of- forgot about the meeting.” your voice grows quieter as you talk, eyes falling down to your lap.
everyone around you goes silent, even their chewing and slurping. your eyes reluctantly rise from your hands, looking over eddie’s emotionless face as he stares at you.
his jaw is going to town chewing on food, his mind working a mile a minute behind his eyes. “you mentioned it to me, yeah?” he breaks the tension, swallowing his chewed up food.
“a while back…” you breathe out nervously, teeth chewing on the skin of your bottom lip, “can we change it? so i can play, like tomorrow or next week?” you question experimentally, eyes boring into his.
“since you mentioned it to me… and my dumbass forgot about it. i’ll let it go, but only this once!” he holds up his index finger as he chirps out the last sentence with wide eyes.
“what?!” “no?!” “are you fucking kidding me?!?” some of the boys protest, yelling and banging their fists on the table.
“shut up!” munson squeaks out, “lady flutter-shy is busy, you heard her! we can wait till tomorrow.”
the members of the club collectively groan, making you feel bad for having the meeting rescheduled. you go to apologize, but eddie’s hand lays across your own to stop you.
“hey. don’t worry about it, they’ll be fine.” he uses his free hand to bite into a chicken tender, “so, where’s this recital at anyway?”
you explain to him you’re going to a theatre in the city next to hawkins, that the theme is swan lake and you’re one of the main dancers. he actually seems quite interested in everything you talk about, his eyes trained on you as he eats.
soon the bell rings, causing your immersing conversation to be cut short. eddie sighs as he stands up slowly, the rest of the group disappearing into the crowd to throw away their scraps.
but before you could join, eddie’s hand wraps around your wrist. his grip is tight, but still gentle. “would it be okay if i swung by tonight? i have nothing else going on and i wanna see what all this fancy ballet hype is about.”
his question stuns you, making your mouth drop open in surprise as you stutter over your words, “yeah- uh of course, eddie! of course you can.”
a cheshire cat grin curls up on the boys face from your answer, his hand dropping from your wrist. you couldn’t help but cherish the feeling of his thumb rubbing circles into your skin.
“see ya then.” he hums, eyes slightly glancing over your frame before snatching his food tray and heading to the trash.
eddie fucking munson. the most metal, long haired nerd wants to attend your ballet recital? what alternate dimension are you living in right now?
you don’t see eddie for the rest of the day, having no more classes with him, but all you could think about was seeing him later. even while getting ready for your recital, putting your makeup on, slicking your hair back into a bun, sliding your opaque white tights on and your leotard.
it’s all just eddie, eddie, eddie, eddie.
on the ride to the theatre, your fellow dancers go over the movements with you, which you have down pat. once you all arrive, you file into the back of the theatre and into the dressing rooms by gender to finish getting ready. you definitely expected eddie to stop by before you went on stage, but there’s only five minutes until the show starts.
your instructor claps her hands to get everyone moving, guiding everyone to their spots as the crowds chatter dies down. this is it. it’s time!
you prance on stage, hands curled softly as your arms extend. you twirl and spin to the beautiful music, your eyes glance over the dark crowd, spotting your parents who slyly wave at you.
the music flows through the dancers prancing across the stage, emotion evident on your faces as you act out the play with your fellow ballerinas.
the last act finally rolls around, your eyes still continue to search the crowd for eddie. maybe he didn’t come after all. you use all your built up emotion, pouring it out into your performance. your fellow ballerina catches your waist as you jump, to be able to twirl you around the stage.
finally, the show ends. the curtains close briefly as all the dancers get into a line to bow. the velvet fabric pulls back, house lights on as the ballerinas bend over while the crowd cheers and hollers. flowers are thrown on stage as your team receives a standing ovation.
you bend over at your waist again, holding hands with the people beside you. the curtains close for the final time, making you take a step back and take a deep breath in. your team cheers around you, hugging and giving each other high fives. you run back to the dressing room with everyone else, wanting to get out of these clothes to go search for eddie.
as you’re unwrapping the stiff tutu from around your hips, your instructor pops their head through the door, “hey, y/n! there’s someone here to see you.”
your heart instantly begins to pump even faster, gulping down your rising bile and smoothing over your front. your pointe shoes slap against the ground as you shuffle outside, looking down the dim hallway to see nobody except some stray ballerinas.
someone behind you clears their throat, making you spin around on your heel. eddie is standing there awkwardly, an arranged flower bouquet in his hands. he’s wearing a plain gray tee under his trademark leather jacket, with black ripped jeans and his scuffed combat boots. his hair even seems a bit more tamed than usual.
your face instantly brightens at the sight of him, heart soaring as you run forward to hug him. he lets out a surprised laugh when you almost tackle him to the floor, his arm wrapping securely around your waist when he stumbles backward.
“oh my god! you actually came!” you let out a loud relieved breath, craning your head back from his neck to look at his face. just making sure he’s actually real.
“of course i did, i wouldn’t lie to you, princess.”
the nickname makes your heart flutter giddily, the bouquet is pushed gently against your chest. “this is for you- since you did absolutely amazing.” he rolls his eyes jokingly with a huge grin.
“you needed to watch first to see if i deserved these, huh?” your nose sniffs the wonderful floral scent, smiling as you look up at him through your eyelashes.
“definitely. needed to see if your talent lived up to my expectations.” he scoffs, hand still resting comfortably on the dip of your waist. his fingers gently press into the thin fabric of your leotard, digging softly into your doughy side.
the loving look in his eyes makes your stomach flip flop, a surge of confidence running through you. whether it’s from the successful show, or just from being around him.
“in all seriousness though, you did really good tonight. i could watch you do ballet all day.” he sheepishly admits to you.
you’ve always had a tiny crush on him throughout junior high and high school- even with that buzz cut of his. it seems as if that crush you pushed into the back corner of your heart, is developing into something more at this very moment. you yearn to kiss him, to feel his plush lips press against yours, for his hands to roam sinfully over your body, to feel the cold metal of his rings drag across your feverish skin.
“eddie, i need to tell you something, but you’re probably going to think i’m crazy-”
“i would never.” he cuts you off.
“okay good, but just listen. i want you to know that i used to have a crush on you-”
“used to? ouch.”
“eddie!” you groan, throwing your head back in annoyance, “just. listen!”
“okay, okay. then spit it out.”
“okay sooooo… i had a crush on you,” you ignore the face he makes from your words, “buuuuut i think i like you way more now, and i really want to kiss that stupid loud mouth of yours right now, and i know that’s insane because you’re like the club leader or whatever, so if it’s weird then it’s fine, but like-”
your rambling is halted by his lips being pressed to yours, his nose slotting perfectly against your own. his hand stays put on your waist, while the other cradles your jawline. “god, you’re so fucking annoying.” he chuckles against you, pulling your chest flush against his. a fire ignited deep in your belly, wishing you could take this somewhere much more private.
“yeah i know. so are you.” your arms swing around his neck to pull him in for another one, your red lipstick smears all over his face. he slightly bends at the waist to deepen the kiss more, craning your body backwards.
your mothers concerned voice makes you freeze in your spot, pulling away from the kiss immediately. to make matters worse, a string of saliva connects between your lips as you look behind him. your parents are stood with very disappointed looks written across their features, eyeing down eddie like a hawk.
fuuuuuck. this is going to be great.
Hey - can I get a stranger things ship please? (I have agreed with basically all the ones you’ve done so far so looking forward to what you will think up for me!)
I am romantically attracted to all the genders, but sexually it be no one.
So I’m a people pleaser but I stand up for what I believe in. I am very protective of my friends. When I was in school I was at the top of my class and all the teachers loved me. Now I am in further education focusing on theatre and want to have a life and job that i will enjoy (even if I’m broke). I sing (got qualifications) and have been the lead singer of a band until the pandemic.
I’m 5’7”, white, female, half Scandinavian half British, shoulder length brown hair with curtain bangs. I have a London accent but when I’m mad it goes almost brummie (I traveled a lot as a kid). I research history like their is no tomorrow and as someone who stands up for what they believe in, I have been to many BLM, women’s rights etc. marches.
I speak several languages including but not limited too, Norwegian, French, Spanish and of course English. I also spent my gap year learning sign language just to be able to do translations for one of my friend’s brother.
Anyway hope you have a nice day/night. ~V
Okay first of all, I think it is amazing that you stand up for what you believe in and that you have been to BLM and women rights marches! They are SO important and we need things to change. Anyways, here is who I ship you with! :))
Stranger Things
Eddie Munson
Tumblr media
Immediately when you said you sing and you are going to school of music I thought of Eddie. First of all he loves how passionate you are and how you are not scared to stand up for what you believe in and what is right. He also loves how you're protective over the people you love. He doesn't have anybody in his family that was ever like that for him, but you are. He loves to hear you sing and whenever you find out he's listening you stop because you get a little embarrassed. So whenever your singing he kinda sneaks up on you and tries to make the best of the moment without you realizing he is there. (lol). He would also be SO proud of how intelligent you are and he would also be extremely impressed. School is not his strong suit so it's very hard for him. Luckily for him, you help him out a lot and you make sure that he is passing his classes. I also think that since you don't matter if you're broke in the future depending on your job you don't care and you still want it means that you are very rich. Rich in love and really knowing what matters instead of material stuff. I really think that means a lot to Eddie because he doesn't see the value in material objects he is more the kind of guy that wants to be rich in love and have world peace! I could see you guys meeting at a concert or something and you guys find out that you go to the same school. The weird thing is that you guys never knew of each other until that night and then the rest from there on was a relationship that continues to grow and grow!
I hope you liked it! :)
okay as a ~*~*distraction*~*~ what part time job do you think each loser would work in the 00’s au? (or any timeline you want)
oop piggybacking off my last ask to add that I personally love Richie working at a movie theater/video rental/store like Newbury Comics (idk if that’s a national chain or not)
okay i’m not joking when i say that i read the first ask and was like “RICHIE VIDEO RENTAL STORE” and then saw your second ask and i fully screamed bc of course we would have the same brain once again :’) soooooo
richie: i’m fully thinking that like he would work at some local place when they are still living in derry, and when they move away for college he would work at blockbuster and think it’s literally the coolest thing ever. like he’s FINALLY gotten to the highest tier of video rental stores. and the other losers are like “dude you do realize that like rental stores are a dying business right” but richie works there til the bitter end, a big part of that being that all the kids that come in think his voices are super funny, like whatever movie they rent richie will talk to them in the voice of the main character or something and it’s just really fun for him. also free candy, helloooo? and the losers are all v supportive and come rent movies from him specifically. and he also tries to get eddie to go into the 18+ room, and eddie’s like “dude we literally are 20 years old, it’s not like we have to sneak in” but richie just thinks it’s funny and so sometimes they’ll run in there together only to run back out giggling like little kids because it’s fun and they can (pls ignore that my timeline here is probably way off from the actual 00′s au i’m just ~doin what i want~) and i think toward the end of working here is when he’d really start to focus more on like his rtvf degree bc i love that for him and he’d get his first dj job while he’s still in school
eddie: mechanic shop!!!!!! let that boy enjoy his love of cars!!!!!! again, he’d work at a local place until they move and tbh probably have a hard time finding a solid job because he just has the little bit of experience from derry. but with the support of his friends and his determination he finally lands a job at a pretty reputable mechanic shop in new york (i’m just going with new york but i mean they could be anywhere) and he quickly becomes one of their top mechanics. he also is taking automotive technology classes and i imagine him getting an internship or something and getting to work on really fancy cars and stuff, though he truly prefers working on like old cars and helping his friends out. he fully teaches richie how to change the oil in his truck at some point bc he gets sick of richie always taking it in for something so simple and paying for it with his ~blockbuster savings~ and he also shows everyone how to change their tires :’)
stanley: i think stan would volunteer at like zoos and animal adoption places. at first he’s mainly just like a janitor and cleans up the walking paths and runs concessions and stuff, which he’s honestly okay with because he gets to spend a lot of time just bird watching and admiring the animals and practicing his bird calls. and i think once they all move, he’d get a position at a big zoo as like a guide and he would teach lessons on how to tell different birds apart and how to do bird calls. i think even when he does get the job, he’d probably still volunteer at animal shelters on the side and he’d be the person in the room with the people who will potentially be adopting to see how the animals respond and he gets to decide if they get to adopt or not
mike: i really love the idea of mike working in antique shops. i can see him falling in love with some little shop in derry that is probably on its last legs and asking for a job, and they probably tell him they don’t need the help but he is persistent and basically ends up just working there and while they can’t afford to pay much, they let him take random things he finds home. of course, along with all the trinkets there would be tons of old literature there and he’d spend a lot of his time reading. in new york, he’d probably be in search of similar shops that he can fix up and find more cool items, and he always gifts each of the losers cool things he finds that makes him think of them. i can also definitely see him working in the university library sometimes, but i think he’d love finding old photos and books and knick knacks and learning about where they all came from
beverly: honestly i think bev would work at a movie theatre, but spend almost all of her time flipping through magazines and drawing up sketches of clothing and listening to music. she starts at concessions and moves up to box office, and she definitely sneaks the other losers in to watch movies for free. she and richie argue about whose job is better and who has the better candy (it’s literally all the same, eddie will tell them) and she also gets to bring home movie posters and distributes them amongst the losers. she definitely gets caught letting them all in for free movies and has to stay late to mop the theatre floors, but little does her boss know that the losers will continue to sneak in anyway and help her clean up. i think she’d keep working there until she gets an internship with a designer. all the losers keep the movie posters that she’d given them over the years
bill: bill works in used bookstores and libraries, and also prefers to accept his pay in the form of taking as many books home as he can. he’s usually there on his own, and he always brings notebooks (this dude can’t afford a laptop yet okay) with him so that he can write his own stories when he isn’t reading. i also can fully see one of the gifts that mike gives is a typewriter to bill that he finds in one of the antique shops :’)) the shops in derry aren’t very busy, so he gets to spend most of his time there reading not only novels, but also books on being a writer and this is where he learns a lot about becoming an author. in ny, i can definitely see him being a library aide and i just have a very vivid image of bill on one of those slidy ladder things looking through the books on the top shelf and being mesmerized by just how much there is to read. even when he isn’t actually working, he’s in a corner of the library working on his original works and just enjoying the atmosphere
ben: ben works at a comic shop, but most of his time is spent sketching buildings and rearranging the store shelves so that it’s neater and makes more sense in the aspect of ~architecture~ and his boss is like in true shock every time he comes into the store in the morning and finds not a single comic out of place like he always did with the people that worked there previously. he draws inspo for big, fancy buildings from things he sees in the comics and likes to redraw them to a realistic scale and imagine what they would look like in real life. the losers of course love to visit him here as well, and they help him choose his best sketches to create a portfolio before they go off to college where he presents it to his professor who would honestly be pretty impressed by it all (and i’m thinking would prob be like “is this the building from ~insert comic here~ and ben would be like YES) and that’s how he gets an internship in architecture
AHHHHH this got so fucking long omg thank you for sending <33333
TW: Panic Attack, Anxiety
Support me on my Ko-Fi!
Great job today, guys. Remember to do your homework over the weekend,” Eddie addressed his students as they packed up their belongings. They exited noisily out of the classroom on the way to the next period. Oh well, they were kids. What could you do?
“I really liked the lesson today, Mr. Tozier,” Bethany, one of his students, told him. “I’m looking forward to what you think of my essay.”
Eddie smiled at her as he got his papers together. He had a lot of correcting to do over the weekend. “Thank you, Bethany. You’d better move onto your next class.”
The young girl glanced at the stack of papers. “Good luck, Mr. Tozier. I’m sure you’ll get through those is a breeze.”
In a breeze.
So far the first two months of teaching had gone well. He really liked it. It was a much better environment than when he was working at a risk analyst. How did he ever last in that job for so long? This month proved to be hectic getting all these grades out. Slowly he adjusted to his own schedule.
In a breeze.
Taking a deep breath Eddie looked at the stacks of papers again. He had a free period. Would he have enough time to look at any of these? Or should he go to the teacher’s lounge to have a break? His boss encouraged teachers to have a real break in the day. Eddie looked at his schedule. He checked the time. An hour until his next class.
In a breeze.
“Okay, relax, deep breath,” Eddie told himself, shutting his eyes and trying to concentrate. He waved his hands around making sure they had circulation “100... 99...98...97...”
No, no, not now!
Another deep breath in through his nose and out through his mouth. “... 9-96...95... 9-9-94...”
His cell phone. Where was his cell phone? Finding it his satchel, Eddie paced the room, near tears, listening to Richie’s phone ring and ring. Oh come on, he always picked up his phone!
Unbeknownst to Eddie, Bethany walked back into the room having forgotten her hoodie. “R-Richie, Richie, it’s happening again! I did everything we’ve done but I can’t breathe. C-Call me back, please?”
“Mr. Tozier?” Eddie heard his name and swiftly turned around, his heart pounding. Bethany was staring at him with any understanding smile. “Did you see what the janitor did this morning?”
“T-The janitor?” Eddie questioned, trying to relax.
“Yeah, he opened his closet and all the mops spilled out!” Bethany laughed.
Eddie smiled at that image. Cruel, but it was humorous.
“Who is your favorite author? Have you heard of Lauren Oliver?” she asked sitting down in her seat which was in the front row.
“I like to read Charles Dickens,” Eddie answered lowering himself into his seat.
“We read Christmas Carol in my English class last year,” Bethany replied. “Have you ever seen it as a play? I went to this cool music theatre two years ago to see it.”
Eddie nodded. “That’s nice.”
Standing up from her desk, Bethany walked over to Eddie. “Do you really better now?”
He didn’t even notice that his heart rate returned to normal. Feeling embarrassed that he caused an alarm over barely anything, Eddie sighed. “Yes, I am better. Thank you, Bethany.”
“You shouldn’t be ashamed of having panic attacks,” she told him. “I get them, too. My parents and I came up with that tactic on talking about our favorite subjects.”
Eddie nodded his head in appreciation. “Thanks. I’ll be sure to use that from now on. You’d better get back to-” Just then his cell phone rang. It was Richie. Immediately he picked up on the second ring or else Richie would worry.
“Richie, hi... I’m okay, okay! I’m fine now,” he said taking a breath. “No, you don’t need to come down here. One of my students helped me.” He gave an appreciative smile to Bethany as she left. Handling his anxiety had never been easy but at least he was developing new tricks on how to deal with it better.
“That’s great, Eds. You know I’ve always believed in you,” Richie proudly told him on the other line.
“Thanks, Richie. Thank you so much.”
Modern Losers’ Club Headcanons
Tumblr media
Plot: Individual headcanons of the modern Loser’ about different things they’d do and love (mostly during high school)
Warnings: slight Reddie, shit ton of Stenburough, drug use + mentions of sex + swearing
——————————————————————————
Bill Denbrough:
~ He’s the artist, everyone knew that.
~Typical art kid who won all the awards and participated in every art class his school offered.
~ He just didn’t take choir or band because we know this boy has no musical abilities at all.
~ Bill would save up all his allowance and holiday money so that he could buy that really good drawing app that he could use on his IPad.
~ After he got it, there was no way to get him to look up at you for more than ten seconds. He would fall in love with digital art.
~ Remember he took all of the art classes? Well, creative writing and poetry we’re considered arts at Derry High School, so that’s where he fell in love with writing.
~ Suprisingly, he would be really into heavy metal. Bands like Bring Me the Horizon and Of Mice and Men would blare in his headphones while he drew in his room late at night.
~ Bill would also really love watching indie movies on Netflix and other platforms. He’s lowkey a movie buff, but he doesn’t tell people too much.
~ His favorite movie from the past decade would probably be Moonrise Kingdom (good movie!!) or The Skeleton Twins (also good movie!!)
~ Bill’s favorite book would 10000% be Turtles All The Way Down by John Green because of the main character and her battle with anxiety.
——————————————————————————
Mike Hanlon:
~ He runs a cooking YouTube channel, you can’t fight me on this one.
~ Mike would definitely have one of those motorized scooters, idk seems like a Mike thing
~ He’s in love with video games but only the ones that are based on a lot of skill. He doesn’t like first person shooters, nor does he like any games with violence at all. Tbh, Papa’s Pizzeria is right up his alley.
~ Mike would be a gym try hard, most definitely. But in every other class he’d just sit on his phone.
~ But he’s so smart that he’d pass all the tests anyway.
~ He’d work a lot just so he could afford the newest phone because he thinks it gives people less of a reason to pick on him and bully him. (News flash: it doesn’t)
~ Whenever Mike isn’t working, he volunteers at the animal shelter in Derry. He runs the Instagram account :)
~ Probably one of the guys who posts shirtless pics on Instagram because he likes the attention the girls give him in the comments.
~ Will answer any of Bill’s texts at 3am when he wants feedback on a new piece of art.
~ A secret theatre kid, no doubt. Not really a musical kid, but he loves acting and just being on stage with everyone’s attention on him.
——————————————————————————
Richie Tozier:
~ Speaking of theatre kids, Richie is the BIGGEST fucking one. He has been in every musical and play that his school has done since 6th grade, and he was one of the best kids they had.
~ He wears Pierce the Veil and Sleeping with Sirens shirts, but Richie mostly listens to softer bands like Arctic Monkeys and The Neighbourhood.
~ He has a bi pride pin on his backpack. Kids will sometimes pull it off and throw it around, but he just pulls another one out of a ziploc bag full of them in the tiny front pouch of his bag and sticks it on there.
~ Richie unapologetically owns a Juul and will sometimes let Bev borrow it as long as she pays him “25 cents a hit”, which she never does.
~ Posts music on SoundCloud. He’s not much of a singer outside of the musicals because he’s mostly shy with his talent; however, he does a lot of instrumentals.
~ Richie shops are thrift stores most of the time. He’ll take Eddie with him and though Eddie won’t touch anything until it’s been washed twice, Richie will buy him anything he likes.
~ He LOVES Harry Potter. He found the first book when he was younger and he just fell in love with the story. He owns all the first editions and all of the movies.
~ Goes to small venues to see bands that no one knows. Richie will go to so many concerts because he likes the escape it brings for him. He’s in his element when he goes to concerts.
~ Despite what many people think, he isn’t a whore :0 He just flirts a lot and he actually didn’t lose his virginity till he was 17 at a party. He regrets it, though, cause he was drunk off his ass.
~ He was also in the color guard for his high school’s marching band. A lot of the girls from the theatre stuff begged him to be apart of it because he could dance really well, and he ended up being in it for both the indoor and outdoor seasons all throughout high school.
——————————————————————————
Eddie Kaspbrak:
~ BOOKWORM, BOOKWORM, B O O K W O R M!!! This boy would spend every second he could just browsing the books that his school library had.
~ After he yelled at his mom for his pills, he started to kind of overcome his germaphobe tendencies, but he still was very iffy about touching things in places he’d never been.
~ For example, Richie took him to the park one time and he had never been there before, so the whole time he was holding his noses and steering clear of the snot nosed little kids.
~ Him and Richie definitely dated at some point or another. Whether to get a feel for guys or just for each other, but it did happen. Beverly was the only one who ever knew.
~ Eddie fell in love with engineering at school. He would always call one of the Losers at an ungodly hour in the morning and rant about how all of the buildings in town were built and with what materials. Honestly, Ben was the only one who shared this interest with him.
~ Eddie was the first to get his own car so all of the Losers would pile into his Jeep. Richie always tried to convince him to take off the doors, but Eddie thought that that was the biggest goddamn safety hazard he’d ever heard.
~ As they all got older, obviously him and Richie stayed close, but he also got surprisingly close with Ben and Ben would gush about Beverly to him after Eddie would excitedly explain how a car’s engine works or something like that.
~ Eddie was the one to convince Beverly to go after Ben and stop pining over Bill.
~ Eddie went to concerts with Richie all the time, and even if the sweaty roadies grossed him out, he fell in love with the bass killing his eardrums and the way the mic static could transform someone’s voice.
~ He also joined his school’s marching band (mainly cause Richie begged him) and was fucking AMAZING at playing snare drums.
——————————————————————————
Stanley Uris:
~ He was the last one to enter high school, everyone a year ahead of him, but he was ironically the most popular among the lower class men.
~ Stan was a very private person, but his willingness to do other’s homework for $5 a page made him infamous.
~ Because of all this money he’d been making, he’d buy the Losers presents all the time. He would treat them to their favorite snacks whenever they went to Keene’s or to a new shirt whenever they went to the mall over in Bangor. And he never went over budget because he’s a goddamn accountant by nature.
~ He had a massive crush on Bill and asked him to homecoming his freshman year. Yeah, they were bullied, but Stan couldn’t have been more happier.
~ Bill convinced him to tryout for the baseball team. He tried out for pitcher and got it immediately. He was also one of the sports kids who would post on his Snapchat whenever they had a game.
~ Him and Bill ended up dating up until junior year, when Bill admitted that he wanted to date at least one girl before college and Stan wasn’t mad because he honestly wasn’t feeling it anymore. Afterwards, they both started dating cheerleaders.
~ Stan was in Calculus his sophomore year of high school, which was the class that all of the AP seniors took. Many people called him a genius, he just thanked the internet.
~ Stan fell in love with indie bands like R.O.A.R and Florence + The Machines. Richie did, however, convince him to go to concerts with him and Eds. He might’ve not enjoyed the music, but he still loved being with his best friends since diapers.
~ He didn’t like movies too much but would watch them with Bill. He enjoyed TV shows a lot more. He’s definitely a true crime baby.
~ Stan also fell in love with photography because he was forced to take the class. He begged his parents to buy him a camera for his birthday, and his many cork boards were filled with pictures of his friends and birds.
——————————————————————————
Ben Hanscom:
~ Was a track start in high school. He ran off all of his fat and just fell in love with the high of running (tbh this is my favorite part about Ben’s character. like such a determined boy 🥺)
~ Ben enjoyed sitting at the library with Eddie and just watching him peruse books, usually pointing a few that he had read and liked. He also just loved the fact that him and Eddie were able to get so close as they got older.
~ Ben was in all the engineering courses his school offered. He was just so happy that he could take classes that pertained to the career path he wanted to go down.
~ He was able to finally get Beverly their senior year. He had been in love with her for the longest time, and she asked him to homecoming.
~ Ben also considered trying out for the football team, but it conflicted with the winter track season so he wasn’t able to; however, him, Mike, and Bill would always play their own small games in the field by Mike’s house.
~ While Stan helped everything with their math homework, Ben helped everyone with their history homework. He was a big history nerd, and everyone knew he paid attention the most.
~ He lost a bet one time and Richie was able to give him a stick and poke tattoo anywhere of his choosing. So now on the inside of his left ring finger he has R.T. written messily.
~ Ben loves pop music. He had always liked it, and some of his favorite artists were Katy Perry and Sia.
~ He rode his bike to school everyday. He was a very big proponent for the environment and hated the idea of driving, so he’d pass up the rides from Eddie or Richie and just bike with his headphones in.
~ Ben was apart of the school’s Green Team and protested climate change and the use of fossil fuels. When he had free time, he’d study ways that he could benefit the environment when he became an architect.
——————————————————————————
Beverly Marsh:
~ She was an English wiz. It was her favorite subject, and she fell in love with analyzing poetry and other forms of literary work.
~ Beverly started to let her hair grow out again and she was relieved to see that it started to grow out straight. She hated her curly hair.
~ She bleached her hair a few times throughout high school; she hated the red because it reminded her too much of her mother.
~ Her and Richie’s friendship fell off big time, but she got super close with Bill, Ben, and Mike. Her crush in Bill didn’t deplete for a while, even after him and Stan started dating. She still had hope.
~ Eddie told her about Ben and it really changed her whole perspective on everything. But that wasn’t until junior year.
~ Though she didn’t have too good of a singing voice, she loved being in choir. The angelic reverberations throughout the auditorium whenever they performed always gave her chills and she wanted so desperately to be a part of it.
~ Beverly wrote a lot of poetry. She wrote some to her friends, to her dead mom, to her asshole dad. Just to whoever she was focused on in that moment.
~ She helped Mike after school at the animal shelter and actually ended up adopting a kitten for herself.
~ Luckily, her dad didn’t mind the cat too much as long as Bev took care of it and didn’t bother him for a single thing.
~ Beverly didn’t get her license until she was well into her twenties, but she loved hanging her arm out of the passenger’s side window of Richie’s car and listen to the bands that he’d blast with closed eyes.
Finding Myself through Cameron Crowe Films
  *Minor Spoilers*
    There are a handful of directors, writers, artists, and singers who have influenced my life. Yet there is only a handful of them who consistently released art that contributed to the person I have moulded into, (despite only being 19 and thinking this is the final version of myself). But one filmmaker in particular, resonates as having created films that were pressed play constantly as a teenager. That filmmaker is the man, the myth, the legend, Cameron Crowe. If it were up to me, he’d be Sir Cameron Crowe. An artist who had managed to shape multiple generations and accurately reflect on generations that once existed. From the early eighties, Crowe has contributed to the films that teens flocked to the theatre to see when they were released, and many years later, those teens would show their kids those films. Thus, I was thankfully brought up by brilliant films such as Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Say Anything, Singles, and Almost Famous. All those films manage to capture adolescence and young adulthood, through numerous characters, eras, and most importantly, through the use of music. Now that I’m in my final year of being a teenager, and entering the next phase of my life, I thought it was time to thank Cameron Crowe for guiding me through these seemingly treacherous years.
    I was raised on eighties films. I always had the blessing of having parents who were really into films, and so I was constantly shown film after film. Many of them were teen films of the eighties. So, of course, there were many late nights of watching Pretty in Pink, Heathers, and Risky Business. Though Crowe's films obviously ended up in the mix, the first time I remember sitting down to watch one of his films ended up being around thirteen. My Dad got me one of those three pack special DVDs from Walmart, with Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club. Both of them I was absolutely obsessed with and made me long to be a teenager. Despite John Hughes being the legend he is, the third film, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, was the one that stuck with me through all four years of high school. I watched the film on my own the night before my first day of high school. I was starting that year off fresh; all my friends were going to the public school, while my parents shipped me off to the Catholic school the next town over, where I’d have to wear khaki cardboard material like pants, and polyester shirts in either green, white or blue. I worried my entire summer about the first day of high school; walking down halls I didn’t know, sitting beside people I never had the pleasure of knowing since kindergarten. On Stacy's (Jennifer Jason Leigh) first day of high school, American Girl by Tom Petty plays. Immediately I grabbed my iPod touch, added it to my iTunes, and played it on repeat on my hour and a half long bus ride, and into the doors of the school. Minus doing it with an older dude, getting pregnant, and brushing up my blowjob skills with a carrot in front of the cafeteria, I wished I was like Stacy. Having a cool job in the mall, somehow being gorgeous all the time (even during exam season?) and having a really sweet guy like Mark take you on a date to a really fancy German restaurant, seemed like an experience I deserved. But Cameron wrote about things in this film so painfully realistic to the high school experience, even thirty years later. I knew girls who went out with weird guys way too old for them, having plans for the future destroyed, and of course, having a teacher who thinks that everyone is on dope (which they're totally right about). It doesn't exaggerate the experience of a teenager, making the film so close to the truth as a film can get. Perhaps its due to Crowe actually spending the year as an undercover student, and honestly, all teen films should've been fact-checked like this one.
     Less than seven years later, Crowe came out with Say Anything. Though my Mom loves this movie, and used to watch it whenever it would come on TV, it was the 2010 film Easy A that actually got me to watch the movie. I made it a point to go back and watch all those films that Emma Stone’s character lists off when discussing if chivalry is dead. Thus I ended up watching Can’t Buy Me Love, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and of course, Say Anything. I wanted my life to be like an 80s movie directed by John Hughes, but I got it so much better, I got a life unintentionally directed by Cameron Crowe. And because of that, I fell in love with wanting to be that smart girl like Diane Court. I look back now on how much studying I did in high school, and how it paid off to where I am now. It’s important for filmmakers to add these characters, ones were they say that girls can be pretty and smart, not settling for the cliched pick and choose scenario. So I worked hard, writing endless essays, studying late at night for a math test, and juggled clubs and activities. But still, I wished to also have that and be wanted by someone. Like Lloyd Dobler, who wants Diane so much, its all he thinks about. But listen, for once I can say the character of Lloyd isn't some creepy dude, who has an obsession and is purely motivated by this girls essence. Again, there are way too many films with the lead guy being solely provoked by a woman's body. But when he gets her, he holds on, noting that her feelings are reciprocated. She could go off to Oxford, and he’d be right there. Perhaps love at this age is rare, but when you know, well you know. And that's a huge difference that my generation can see. Though many of us have grown up with divorced parents, constant cheating, and unreciprocated feelings, at such a young age, we shouldn't keep that from the actual emotions that we are meant to feel for another human. Maybe we are supposed to give it all, and as I watch this film, I’m not wondering what if Lloyd didn't go about the relationship as he did, I wonder how Lloyd and Diane are. Because like I said, he wants her so bad that he stands outside of her house after a fight, holding that boombox up high, blasting the best love song of all time, In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel. I can’t even tell you the amount of times I’ve had that song on an endless repeat, but I can promise that I most likely broke the record the summer of ‘18. I longed to be sought after like Diane (cause who honestly doesn't want to be so enormously desired by someone you love?). By the end of the August heat, I laid awake at night, waiting for that song to be played outside of my window (actually would've freaked me out but still, the thoughts nice). But that song ended up being played during the fall, plenty of times in the cold winter days, and in the early spring, all the while so content with listening to it at this very moment. Sometimes boys and girls, it's good to just say anything (add wink emoji here).
     Despite still being totally obsessed with all things of 80s culture, it's time to bring up that phase that wasn't ever a phase, but the depths of my soul. The tenth grade brought about my “grunge phase.” I got my nose pierced, splurged on Doc Martens, stocked my closet with various coloured flannel shirts and band tees. I wanted people to know that I listened to Nirvana, Guns n Roses, and Pearl Jam, despite it being on my shirt that I’d wear under my uniform sweater. My eyeliner was thick black, and my tweets were usually lyrics from some band part of the Seattle Sound. My Dad was in his teens when the Seattle sound came about, and thus as a kid, I spent many car rides hearing Alice in Chains ‘Dirt’ album, Pearl Jam’s the ‘Ten’ album, and Nirvana’s ‘Unplugged’ album on the radio. For me, I was the real shit when it came to this era of my life. And that became the perfect opportunity for my dad to introduce me to Crowe’s ‘92 film Singles. A group of young adults who all live in (a now extremely famous) the same apartment complex, during the height of the Seattle sound. Surprise surprise, they reside in Seattle. Honestly, there could've been no better film for my dad to turn on. With cameos from my bae Eddie Vedder and the late Chris Cornell, the film brings so much to the group of young adults who chose to immerse themselves in real boy bands, compared to whatever the other ones who sang with earpieces paired with synchronized dances did. No offence. Dealing with the idea of relationships, whether we are to settle or have fun in our 20s, Singles is supposed to be about Gen Xer’s, yet, I can see how many millennials still have this issue. There are plenty of girls I know who have used their ex’s t-shirts to clean their toilets, and though we aren't making dating VHS’s, they are perfecting their tinder profiles, hoping that actual human connection exists on the other end. The biggest point in the film that got me, (despite being sixteen trying to imagine myself in four years time), was the whole fear of what if you commit and what if you don’t? There are many ways you can mess up potential, and still, it lies within not calling after a date, or in our case, texting after hanging out. Sometimes we just need people to say and do the right things without having to tell them what is the right thing to do or say. And if it all works out, we’ll end up like Steve and Linda who move out the single bedroom apartment, and into never having to be labelled again as a single.
     Eight years came about the semi autobiographical story of Crowe himself, Almost Famous. The film with the best soundtrack of all time, due to it having a budget of 3.5 million, compared to most films with budgets of about 1.5 million. Honestly, that's the best use of money in all of human history. And thanks to Zooey Deschanel’s duffel bag, we get to hear Simon and Garfunkel, Led Zeppelin, The Beach Boys, and everyone's favourite, Elton John. You cannot tell me you did not get goosebumps hearing Tiny Dancer being sung in unison by Kate Hudson, Billy Crudup, Patrick Fugit, Jason Leigh, and well I could go on forever about the well-casted film. Before watching the film, I remember that Fool in the Rain was my favourite Zeppelin song. But after watching it for the first time, I had probably had listened to Led Zeppelin’s song Tangerine a hundred times. If a film has such tangible (see what I did there) scenes, and a song contains such a powerful presence, then that is mastering filmmaking in my opinion. Thus, this film was watched during all sorts of moments in my adolescence. The time I wanted to work as a journalist for Rolling Stone, when I was in need of a change, and when I was absolutely alone and only a Cameron Crowe film understood me. And each time I was damn near tempted to be a roadie for a somewhat known band, who hopefully was opening for Black Sabbath. Actually, it was very much this film that got me more obsessed with concerts than I was before. I’d buy tickets as soon as they’d go on sale, mostly to smaller bands, that way I’d have a chance of being up close, and even meeting the band. Like William, I’d wait by the stage doors for the band. Dragging my friends to the concert at least twelve hours before the show would start, just so I could meet bands like Peach Pit, Pale Waves, Colouring, and well other indie bands that I’m sure slim to no adults know. Believe me, I’d wait a week for Black Sabbath if I could. But beyond that, I think that every young person deserves the life, encapsulated in this film; of just going out there and being absolutely free. You know, before life kicks in. And that's really what this film, amongst nearly all of Crowe's films, demonstrate. Get out there kid, put on those headphones, blast some Lynyrd Skynyrd, and just live before you die. Being obsessed with listening to classic rock, I devoured the only season of Paul Feig’s Freaks and Geeks, and had Almost Famous’s soundtrack on repeat. I owned a long green army jacket, and also a faux sheepskin sherpa coat. I was both Lindsey Weir and Penny Lane. I was walking down the two hallways of my high school, and the one street of my small towns downtown, earbuds in, Fleetwood Mac blasting. And through the many characters of these films, they reminded me that I’m here for the art. For the music from the Bookends album, the score of a Tim Burton film, and the tracks of a Tarantino picture. Like Kathy and Paul who went off to see America, Lindsey who goes off to a Grateful Dead concert with her best friend, and Penny Lane who is off to her dream destination of Morocco, I myself am off to see and hear the world.
      It's odd to look back on these films that meant so much to who I was and who I’ve become. I’m in my last year of being a teenager, and I’m almost done university’ yet I still feel so attached to these characters I feel that I someway embodied. But that's not because I based my life off these characters Crowe created, it's really because Crowe based these characters off of people that exist in life. In those years of watching any teen film out there, Crowes (and of course Hughes) inspired me to look around constantly, taking notes on the friends I had spent lunches on Thursdays, discussing films with, just in case I’d make a film reminiscent about them. In my seemingly ordinary life, Crowe told me to go out and grab those who write seemingly precognition notes in your yearbook. Most importantly, Crowe told me to just let the music guide me through life. And for that, I got my life to be directed by Cameron Crowe.
INT. Credits being to roll, as ELTON JOHN’S TINY DANCER plays.
Chapter 7
Click to read chapter 8:
He could scarcely believe what he had just done. What was he thinking?! Yes, Lance was a jerk, and deserved every single kick that was directed towards him. But if the porcupine went to the cops, what was he gonna do? Assault was a serious charge, even when you do it for the right reason. He had done it for Ash. Then why did he feel kinda jealous of Lance? Ash wasn’t his girlfriend! His mind fled to a couple days prior. That kiss. Those lips upon his’. Those arms around him. His arms around her. Why did he want to feel that again? It was wrong! They were different species, let alone their 25 year difference! His heart started to pound faster in his ribcage, and he knew it wasn’t good. He had to be nuts, right? He was just letting the porcupine’s words get to his head… He wasn’t in love with Ash, right? He entered the theatre, and was surprised with music. Going up the stairs, he found Johnny and Miss Crawly practicing the piano. He went past them as silently as he could. “Oh, hey Mr Moon.” “Hey there, Johnny. I thought you had left.” “No, I just wanted to practice some more. Is that okay?” Buster nodded, and smiled. “You go right ahead.” “Mr Moon? What’s that on your shoes?” Miss Crawly’s voice came. “Uh… Dirt. I took a different route back here, and accidentally threw the bike on this big pile of dirt and leaves. Silly me.” He laughed as normally as he could. “Did you call Meena?” “Back here, Mr Moon!” The koala jumped. Both his assistant and his gorilla competitor laughed. Buster smirked. “I’ve started collecting the glass!” “Good, good! Keep up the good work! Be with you in a minute!” He ran into his office, and closed the door and blinds. Blood. The idiot had joyfully went past town with someone else’s blood on his shoes and pants. He took off both items, and substituted them for clean ones. He just hoped that whoever saw him either mistook the stains for water or didn’t notice them at all. Throwing his suit to the couch, he rolled up his sleeves. He had a long night of work ahead of him. Several hours later, the tank was finished, and the squids had been recruited and knew exactly what to do. All there was left for him was wait. Oh, and trying to get Ash out his mind. He took off his gear, and slipped into bed, going through the day’s events. When had those thoughts even started? Lance’s words alone wouldn’t make this to him. He had went to Nana’s house, surprising Eddie at some point there, ok. He came back and told everyone the news, good. He held a full-dress rehearsal. Mike was singing to Fox Sinatra, great, he loved it. He called her on. When she got on stage, was here anything about her that froze his mind? He found that unlikely. She ran off, and he eavesdropped the cast’s conversation. He sent everybody home. Was it for her? Or was he wanting to be alone with her back there? Probably both, he figured. What is it about her that he liked? Her skills, her voice? Was it because of the danger? Society didn’t like it, he could get arrested if someone found out… Of course not. He disliked danger with all his heart. Was it merely physical? No, no way! Although he wouldn’t complain if physical contact happened. He wanted it to happen. He mentally slapped himself. As if crushing on her wasn’t already wrong enough… He drifted off into peaceful sleep, the porcupine never leaving his mind.
 Meanwhile, at the good part of town, Tara knocked on the door to a fancy house. Boy, that had been a tiring day. “Tara!” Marina said, opening the door. “I thought you’d have traveled by now!” “Nah, the cast can wait.” She laughed lightly. “Just wanted to make sure your little one got here in safety. There’s monsters out here.” The boy gripped her hand tightly. She carefully ruffled his quills, smiling. “Very considerate of you! Would you like to come in? We’re having beef and baked potatoes, Maria made pudding as well! It’s what you younger folks like, right? Pudding?” Tara laughed. “I do like it, but I’m a tad bit late. This afternoon ride took longer than I expected. But thank you ma’am.” “Oh, at least take something with you! Come in! I’ll get something packed!” She sighed. “Okay, if you insist.” Not too long after, she sat at a big and fancy dining hall, having a delicious meal. Despite her protests, Marina always had a way to convince her to do things she didn’t want to. She felt out of place, despite her warm hosts. That place didn’t feel like home whatsoever. Her studio was in the bad side of town, but she loved it will all her heart. She felt truly welcomed there. Unlucky for her, things were just about to get worse. “Elbows off the table.” The small porcupine quickly did as instructed. “Sorry, ma’am.” She sighed again. If there was something in the world that she hated, it had to be rich families. Always so polite and formal, even with their kids. Adam could easily pass for a servant. His expensive and neat clothing, which didn’t really fit the weather, let alone a kid. Kids liked running and getting their clothes dirty. Despite being a girl, she enjoyed doing that. Some of the best memories she had were from the football field just across the block. Four hour, sometimes more, football matches. Dodgeball. Hide-and-seek. Even the one time Drake brought along a pellet gun and she was accidentally shot in her back. It hurt like hell, but it was a great day. They cheered her up, invented a million games they could play, and after half an hour she felt no pain anymore. The boy never had any of that. He wasn’t allowed to play, or run, or do anything that didn’t match being the heir of a great fortune and many of the richest companies around. She felt bad for Ash, having to grow up there. It must’ve been suffocating. “Is there something on your mind, dear?” She started considering if Ash’s escape wasn’t her fault, even if a tiny little bit. It was her who took Ash to her house, introduced her to all the kids in the neighborhood, and even lent her some clothes so she could play with them without being scolded by her parents when she got home. Did it start back there? Or Ash always had it in her? Time passed, and she was unrecognizable. Especially after the one party she went, just because her parents weren’t there not to allow her. How happily she talked about the boy she had met. The songs he had taught her to play in the guitar. How was she hoping to join a band. In no time, practically all elements, as Ash’s family liked calling whoever didn’t have millions in their pockets and weren’t annoyingly polite, in town knew her. She started leaving at nights to go play in concerts, all very hidden from public eye. She did that because it was fun. One day, her parents noticed she had left, and went after her. Someone had sold her out. When their parents arrived at the concert, the house went down. They threatened to call the police, had a couple bodyguards kick their way in, and dragged their daughter out of the place. “Tara?” Michael asked, a worried look on his face. She looked up. “Yes, sire?” “Is everything alright?” “Fine and dandy, Mister.” She couldn’t understand why Marina and Michael liked her. She wasn’t different from Ash at all. Both were alternative, had a passion for music, and lived a less than ideal lifestyle, despite their ridiculously rich parents. She figured it was because she wasn’t their daughter. “Ta-Ta, why you sad? We saw big sis!” Tara's eyes opened wide, her mouth hung in shock. Morbid silence. “What did you say?” “We saw big sis today! She was messing with string-thing!” The kid said, cheerfully. “Guitar.” Tara sighed. “You saw Ash?” Michael said, a bit altered. “Yes, Mr T. She was-” “I didn’t knew you still saw each other!” Marina interrupted. “We don’t! We just happened to bump into each other at the park.” “Where does she live?” “I don’t know.” She lied. “If you were meeting her out there like the best friends, of course you do!” “I have her phone!” She said, lifting her phone. “I can ask, wait a sec.”
Ash was sitting at her bed, happy at the lyrics she had just finished, but even more at the day’s events. She had seen a long time friend, got to spend some time with her little brother, and had written a melody that was sure to blow Nana away. Literally. Maybe the guitar solos were too much, but Buster had said he wanted loudness. She lifted her phone, and saw a message. It took her a while to understand what the letters meant. PRENTS GOIN OVR. LAEVE D HOUS ASAP!!!!!!!! She couldn’t believe it. Why would Tara tell her parents where she lived?! She grabbed a couple shirts that were sitting there, stuck them into her guitar case, and ran off to the theatre, carefully checking her surroundings so her parents wouldn’t see her. “Buster!!” She wasn’t going to destroy another of his windows' frames. Taking small pebbles, she threw them at the window, to try and wake the koala. “Buster!!” The frame went up. “Ash? What are you doing, you alright?” “Please open the door!” He nodded, and closed the window, quickly rushing downstairs. She had got to be kidding him. On the night he wasn’t fit to see her, because he had to find out how he felt about her, she needs a place to stay. And of course they were staying at the same bed. At the second he opened the door, she ran inside, almost breathless. “What happened?” “My parents found out…” She inhaled deeply. “Where I live. Can I stay here? Sorry, I should’ve called you.” “No no, don’t mention it. Uh…” He rubbed the back of his neck. “Make yourself at home.” “Ah. Thanks.” Going to the wings, she settled her guitar case down, and changed into an oversized shirt she had brought along. “Sorry about coming here this late at night, I didn’t knew this was gonna happen.” “It’s fine, Ash.” He assured her, giving her a sweet smile. “You’re always welcome. But listen, uh… I only have one bed, here.” “Single or double?” “Double.” He lied. “No problem, then.” “Okay… Let me get things ready.” Running upstairs, he quickly grabbed some pillows and comforters and his own mattress, turning it into a double bed. Of course they weren’t going to sleep inside of his table’s drawer. There was no space, right? And quite frankly, he wanted to be near her. “Here we go.” “Thanks, Buster.” She laid down at the bed. He nodded, and helped himself to her side, both facing the ceiling. Silence hovered over them for a while. “You don’t turn while you sleep, right?” She laughed and smacked his leg. “You don’t turn while you sleep, right? It would be a nuisance to have those ears smack against me.” He put up a fake pout, and chuckled. “Touché.” There it was. That quickened heartbeat. He was laying in bed with the girl he was crushing on, and couldn’t have been more lost. More silence. “Are you feeling better?” “Yep.” “Any calls?” She shook her head. “Not that I noticed.” Good, Buster thought. “What happened to… All glass windows, and panels from downstairs?” He chuckled. “Wanna see it? It will blow you away.” Not too long afterwards, both sat at the front row of the theatre, watching a spectacular show of lights. “Wow.” “What did I say, uh?” Ash was mesmerized by the vision. Buster brought her closer to him, and tilted his face, gently brushing one of her loose quills. The teenager sighed. “So we did… Kiss, that day?” “We did, and it was the smoochiest smooch you can think of.” He chuckled. “Sorry about that.” “I don’t mind it.” He took a deep breath. “And, if anything, I’d like to maybe… Do it again.” She looked back at him. “I know it’s weird, and uncalled for, but… Since that day I can’t get you out of my mind.” “Same.” He turned to her. “I kinda wondered if that kiss had been a dream… But dream or not, it was amazing.” “Uh. Well…” He wasn’t used to being complimented in such a way. “Thanks, I… It felt pretty good on this side too.” “What are you waiting for?” She giggled softly, covering her mouth. “What? Oh! Uh… Okay.” He swoop her in for a quick experimental kiss. Then a longer one, and an even longer one after that. Jail rushed through his mind for a moment, but he couldn’t care less. It was just him, and her, and if that meant jail then he’d take it without a complaint. Ahead of them, squids flashed red and formed a heart on the tank.
I was tagged by @osbournebemydaddy (I’m not giving up that easily)
1) f you could go back in time to one year and follow one band for an entire tour, when and who would you choose?
Wow, this is a hard one, ummm...probably Mötley Crüe’s Theatre of Pain tour from 1985 or AC/DC’s Highway to Hell tour from 1979
2) If you could be present for the recording of one entire studio album, which album would you pick?
Probably...umm...the appetite for destruction album by GNR most definitely.
3) Which 3 band members would you pick to go on a road trip with?
1. Nikki Sixx
2. Steven Adler
3. Rick Allen
4)  What’s the first song (rock or otherwise) that you remember hearing as a kid?
Probably Harder to Breath by Maroon 5. I remember singing along to it in the car with my mom.
5) What’s your nickname for your favorite band member (don’t lie to yourself we all do it)?
I have so many and I use them all on here but here are a few, Rick Allen--Sunshine Baby, Eddie Van Halen--Cute Boi, Bon Scott--Bonny Boi, Stephen Pearcy--Sexy Stephen, Axl Rose--Sexy Axl or Cheeky Bastard (depending on my mood), Nikki Sixx--cute boi, or just Nikki, Slash--Slash boi, Steven Adler--smiley steven, I have a lot...
7) Favorite music book you’ve read?
I have so many. But I really like “The Beatles: A Hard Day’s Write” by Steven Turner. It tells you the story behind every single one of their songs.
8) If you could pick up one instrument and be an instant master, which instrument would you pick up?
Bass, I just love the bass.
9) Which album would you promote with an “evangelical zeal” (thanks John Green)?
Umm...probably Van Halen. I really like that one.
10) One song you loved instantly but now hate (for whatever reason)
Sugar from Maroon 5, I loved it at first but then it just got too overplayed on the radio so I need a break from it.
11) Give one unpopular opinion you have, on any subject.
I don’t like Axl Rose with AC/DC.
My questions:
1) 80s glam metal or 90s grunge, and why.
2) Favorite guitarist?
3) Have you ever had a dream about a band member? What was it about?
4) Current or OG Quiet Riot?
5) If you could meet one musician who would it be?
6) Favorite drummer?
7) Your first thought when you see your favorite musician.
8) Favorite lyrics of any song.
9) If you could write one musician's biography whose would you write?
10) Jim Croce or Simon and Garfunkle, and if you don’t know Jim Croce listen to this, it’s amazing. (x)
11) would you have rather been a rockstar in the 70s or the 80s and why?
I’m tagging @osbournebemydaddy (it’s on man!), @savthemild , and anyone else who wants to do it.
