one thought everyday and its just the amazing world of gumball especially these three freaks (doodles + some headcanons below :3)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
mr small -
my interpretation of small becoming more mellowed out in the future seasons as opposed to season 1 is him managing his anger in a more healthier way (meditation, etc) (plus i think all those herbal infusions are incredibly effective on the nerves) . that being said i think he still has underlying anger issues and lashes out if prompted too much . another reason hes nicer and more of a pushover in the later seasons is because i like to think hes guilty of his plethora of outbursts earlier on, especially towards students (unwarranted shouting which as a school counsellor he should know is pretty harmful on younger kids) . the fact that he tries to offer his help when its absolutely not needed so many times later on in the show further makes me like to think he’s making up for it all
hes also so autistic to me hes on the spectrum you cant tell me otherwise and i think hes pretty awkward and considered strange by the whole town (which is saying a lot for elmore standards) . still super friendly and approachable but he also cant take hints and he definitely stims (and has special interests, alternative medicine are you kidding)
his music taste i love to think is all over the place … i get the general consensus is he listens to mystic chants and sitar music but he definitely listens to more, ranging from pop to indie to rock to metal (this may or may not have become an idea when i was listening to ‘darts by soad and associated it with him,) . also what with his stupid little self funded album that is such a jarring listen ‘cause of all the ridiculous genre changes
i think he crochets/macrames as a hobby along with other diy stuff (most of the decorative items in his home crafted by him) making him, surprisingly considering how incompetent he is sometimes, super crafty/handy .
larry -
larry is a great person: incredibly intelligent, he’s very knowledgable on a plethora of subjects and he has a big heart, holding little to no virtriol against the people of elmore (except the wattersons but that is SO warranted) . thus i like to imagine he did great in school, moved on to do so wonderfully in uni whilst juggling jobs and his studies but after graduation was left stuck (alike so many people nowadays) . neither small or larry came from well off families but i think for larry he didn’t have much of a support system anyway so currently he overworks and works and works just to catch up on the student debt whilst simultaneously paying his taxes (i still think about that episode all the time fuck the police . big pink son of a bitch), loans and not to mention the bare minimum to keep himself alive
he’s a very sweet and kind person but anyone under the immense stress that he’s under would be irritable and temperate (he deserves to be more angry imo) and i whilst he has so many jobs he always aims to excel at all of them, having an incredibly particular way that tasks must be done and having them organised . because of this, he can be a lot more temperate when interacting with coworkers, especially those who don’t do their job as well, having to take matters into his own hands . as he and karen (his girlfriend throughout the series) share some jobs it puts a strain on their relationship (which was built off of the mutual ‘having several jobs’) and they break up .
even so, though larry consistently tries to propose to her in the show, in “the laziest” he doesn’t seem to be happy nor comfortable at all with the prospects of marrying her . in fact, even when he’s achieved the ‘american dream’ (properties like a house and car and a family (his girlfriend soon to be wife)) he’s unhappy . personally i don’t think he knows what he wants to do with himself ; he works all day and night and has little to no time for himself to even think in peace that the only purpose he knows is work .
i like to think he used to be an artist; self taught, it was a hobby and an enjoyment but his studies and his work took over so his one form of self expression was squeezed out of his life .. (i like making their lives as bleak as possible soz ! 🙏) he still admires the arts and i think that’s another reason he likes steve so much; his handcrafts and mini projects .
steve and larry are two opposites that are similar in ways .. but i love their dynamic so much . my interpretation of them is that steve will help larry balance out his life slightly better to leave room for himself instead of working 24/7 . steve has his head in the clouds and larry grounds him, and larry is so stuck in his ways with work that steve pulls him out of it slightly, lifting him up a little higher (AUGHHHGHH I HATE THEM I HATE THEM
as for their relationship with rob, im very much a stevelmeyer adoption truther !! both larry and steve coming from dysfunctional families, they aim to help rob and take care of him to the best of their abilities . further, larry taking on taking care of rob gives him direction in his life again . 😁😁😁😁😁😁
this isnt gonna be the last post headcanon/idea wise i still think of them 24/7 but heres jus SOME things .. (im such a yapper sprry not sorry !) :3c

I'm just figuring out how important music is in my life! This is coming from a long while trying to cut down on my music use, mostly because I was listening to it so much that it felt more like I couldn't do anything without popping in some earbuds, and partially because of other personal reasons. Some of my routines changed, forcing me to not listen to music while doing certain things, and it ended up becoming that besides working on homework or drawing, I didn't listen to music at all. But I've given myself a break today since I have nothing to do and since, for reasons, I'm feeling just a lil crappy today—and boy, I'm starting to realize again just why I love music!!
I love the diverse music taste I've developed over the years! My family is not only big about music but big about listening to it loud, so the majority of my music taste for most of my life has just been Christian hiphop (Lecrae, KB, Andy Mineo, Trip Lee, and ironically Tonex, whose album where he was struggling hard with his gayness has been my favorite concert movie since I was 5) and gospel music (Kirk Franklin, Tye Tribbett, etc.). And music was one of the few connections between me and my race (I grew up feeling pretty estranged from my blackness as a kid, but the popular songs they played at the YMCA in the 2010s were some of the few things I could use to feel more connected) and between me and my classmates/friends at the Y (I still have fond memories of playing FNAF songs in mat forts and reciting lyrics at pool parties). But I got tired of knowing I could never bond with anyone besides family friends music taste-wise when I was in high school, and so I started listening to secular music on my own time. And that's how I first found Ghost and Pals, a vocaloid artist and one of the first secular music folks I listened to as a kid (can you smell the religious trauma yet? Lol), and that's how I bonded with one of my best friends in early college (ironically, also my first time being publically queer). Now I listen to Kpop, anime songs, songs from warriors MAPs, songs from musicals (Hamilton and In the Heights <3), latin songs, metal songs, and even some secular songs young me would've been too scared to listen to.
And music has always been one of my biggest sources of stimming! I can't dance to save my life, but music will sure get me to flick my fingers and hit my fist against my shoulder furiously. Music was one of the first clues that I like stimming with vibration too (since I love laying against the car door and turning up the music loud enough to feel the world shake around me). And music was one of the first things that made me look into ADHD or autism (specifically, listening to Ghost and Pals songs for a month straight and getting my friend at early college [who also has ADHD] to start looking at me funny when I was discovered doing chores and listening to one of three songs for the fifth time). Music is so cool it'll get me to wax poetically. It was one of the things that kept me together during my roughest times and soothed me during my best. I listen to it while I write, while I cry, while I hang out with my friends and family and while I chill by myself. It's how I relax after a long day, and it's how I feel safe. I feel kinda emotional finally having music hit that spot in me without feeling like I need it to do stuff.
#songs listened to while writing this post:#Tell Your Girlfriend by Lay Bankz#Get Up (Live) by Tye Tribbett#the Oshi no Ko OP song for season 1 (by Yoasobi) - which I ironically found before getting into Oshi no Ko#Waterfalls Coming Out Your Mouth by Glass Animals#Como Fue by 116#Creator (a Minecraft song I picked up from my college friend J)#The Ultimate Soldier (Evangelion)#Reckless Battery Burns by Ghost and Pals#Uncanny x Deathbody remix by Ghost and Pals#Watch Me Work (Trolls 3)#Mount Rageous (Trolls 3)#Better Place (Trolls 3)#Hayloft 2 by Mother Mother#Hayloft 2 Smashup by Mother Mother#Don't You Worry About a Thing (the Sing movie)#Mama by My Chemical Romance (found through a warriors MAP [yes the one you're thinking of])#Gossip by Måneskin#Looking at my playlists getting more and more secular songs feels like healing#but I also love that I can still listen to gospel hiphop or gospel music without feeling ashamed or (completely) embarrassed#(except for Bizzle but that was always more of my dad's music taste anyway)#also yes I have tinnitus how could you guess? Haha but for real it feels like an okay sacrifice to me (more like a battle wound for loving#music so much - but everyone else please use ear protection if you can! Tinnitus doesn't bother me too much but it could you!)#fenn rambles#gonna use this tag for my favorite rants and rambles that I'm most proud of hehe#(also this is an excuse to not leave some non-alterhuman-themed or non-neopronouns-themed stuff untagged >:3)#music#(also I went to a KB concert recently and it was HYPE)#(and I went to Winter Jam in Mobile and it was legitimately one of the best concert experiences in my life - Lecrae >>>>#love his new album hehehe)

‘Kay it’s been twelve hours here’s my thoughts on GLOOM DIVISION by track-
In short: holy shit, new IDKHOW, hell yeah Dallon, 11/10
In detail:
DOWNSIDE - Absolutely captivating intro, instantly hooked on the album
GLOOMTOWN BRATS - Still a great song, so captivating and made me stim so part of my favorites now
INFATUATION - For some reason, this song hit me a little too hard emotionally but in a good way, something something new obsessions and getting too into things or whatever. Not my favorite song out of them all but still good.
WHAT LOVE? - Great vibes, starting to sense a bit of foreshadowing just by looking at the titles coming up. Thinking back it’s pretty much there in the previous songs but it hit me more on this one.
SPKOTHDVL - The fact the guitar(? Bass?) sounds like it’s singing “speak of the devil” is just SO GOOD and the LYRICS - love at first sight (listen) for me
SIXFT - So this is the one where he says fuck! Cynical and bitter over a less aggressive melody, very much like I’ve been feeling so it’s up there in my likes for this album
FIND ME - Ominous again, love it! Reminded me a bit of Mx Sinister and Social Climb but not in a “oh it’s similar” but in a “I can see the progression from A to B” and I like it!
KISS AND TELL - I love a good heartbreak song when there’s a bit of pettiness and I’m very much a “you break my trust and we’re done” so this is fantastic
A LETTER - Solid recording of this song, glad to have heard the Brobecks version of it live several years ago. It really fits well with the album and it resonated with me a bit
SATANIC PANIC - Another one that made me stim so up there it goes. Halfway through it fucking hit me (“I wonder what this song is about” YEAH THANKS I got it SATANIC PANIC) so yeah I think this is number one in terms of lyrics for me, iykyk
SUNNYSIDE - Oooh an upbeat one lovely! It’s a little further than my usual taste but it’s a nice refresher after all that happened before this one. I also love a good dissonance between lyrics and music so the third verse was my favorite
iDIOTS OF Oz - great song to vibe to, misheard the lyrics in the way it was intended too so it really was a good song to end the album with
In general, this album’s really good and I hope it gets the attention and recognition it deserves! Please, if you’ve got any thoughts I wanna see them!

leon kennedy with autism headcanons
Tumblr media
warnings: mentions of some triggers (crowds, lights, etc) but everything else is good! :3
we pretend the events of re2 never happened and that he actually got to officially join the force with his prettyboy face
or i could be normal and just say pre-outbreak lol
and we’re also gonna pretend that everyone on the force is either unaware that he’s autistic and aren’t assholes to him
i saw someone post some clips from the games and it’s literally just “leon kennedy autism compilation” and considering i finished my first re2 leon run yesterday, you already know i have to contribute
BTW THIS IS ALL JUST MY OPNION feel free to correct me or share your own headcanons in my chat box or in the comments :3
Tumblr media
i don’t think he would get an official diagnosis? just doesn’t have the time to think about it or doesn’t really consider anything that he does is weird, no one points it out either because they’re like “that’s just leon! XD”
in more fun news, i don’t really think he stims, at least not super noticeably this is kind of a lie actually idk
like he stims but he doesn’t even realize that he’s doing it but for reasons that he can’t begin to understand, he has a spot in one of the cabinets of his desk where he just keeps stress balls or things like that
the specific scenario where he just feels too crowded somewhere or he can hear the sounds of the fluorescent lights and it agitates him to no end
if he has any vocal stims, he snaps his fingers (does that count??) or clicks his tongue but its not repetitive either
projecting here but i think he likes to blast music really loudly in his car or in earbuds depending on where he is
he’s so cute, in his car, he blasts rock music and stuff and drums his fingers against the steering wheel before he starts driving, he gets super into it
at the station, when he has to write up his reports, he’ll blast music on his earphones loud enough that he doesn’t hear anyone or any background noise
it’s to a point that people have to tap him on the shoulder to get his attention
he’s a pencil twirler, when he’s anxious, really focused, or even just talking to people, he does it almost on instinct
he also bounces his leg a lot, all the time and if he’s not doing that, he reverts to the pencil lol
but when he gets into that routine of bouncing his leg, twirling his pencil, and listening to music, people will ask what he’s doing and some other officer will joke that “he’s in the zone”
he is pretty much phenomenal at masking on good days but on days where he gets overwhelmed or too frustrated, he works out until he drops from how tired he is
of course he has a special interest, it’s something like pokemon and/or star wars
he like video games A LOT, he has entire collections under his tv set or his bed and they’re mostly fighter games; mortal kombat, street fighter, etc (looks at my shelf full of k-pop albums and sighs in defeat)
when he’s not home, only someone who REALLY knows him would see the look in his eyes of him getting excited when he hears someone talking about his special interests or sees something in a store that catches his attention
at home, he completely lets loose, takes whole weekends to just indulge and if he’s with someone, he can spend hours talking about the stuff he likes but he’ll give the occasional “sorry, i kind of geeked out? ^^;”
like he physically lights up but he’ll get all flustered unless someone tells him that he’s alright (WHICH YOU WILL SAY YES TO. LET HIM RAMBLE.)
he hates crowds, he isn’t an introvert or anything and doesn’t actively avoid crowds but if he gets caught in one, he is just in the WORST mood and he needs to go home and recharge
he does go nonverbal sometimes but not a lot of people pick up on it just cus it’s just normal for people on the force to have off days and maybe he doesn’t want to talk about what’s wrong so they just let him be until he reaches out
me and my one of my best friends (welcome to another post where you featured damien) were talking and established that his skin is strangely flawless so at the end of a long day (when he’s alone) he puts on a face mask and just enjoys how cool it feels on his face
some people ask him if he has a skincare routine and he’s just like “no? why do you ask? :D” but he just doesn’t realize that he has one until he counts just how much stuff he puts on his face
he loves touch!! but only from people he really trusts so strangers he can shake hands with and stuff, friends is a lot more than that but s/o’s is who he’s closest with
he likes to feel them laying on him and the pressure and just :333 likes to feel as close as possible and will squeeze you
not autism related news but things about his health that my friend and i made up but that we think is funny is that he’s lactose intolerant and allergic to cat fur but he’s too kind to say anything
the rare chance that he has to rescue a cat, he gives the cat back but is sneezing like crazy
and if someone offers him food he can’t eat or he’ll die, he just runs to take lactaid really fast and comes back like nothing happened so he always has allergy and lactaid on him no matter what
                               (<`▽´)―━━☆⌒*. BAM ITS OVER
YEEHAWW I HOPE YOU GUYS LIKED THAT :3 this is my first time publishing about something as sensitive (? ig) as this so pls let me know if i inadvertently used any problematic language or anything like that and i will be more than happy to edit! :D
i’ve been super enjoying the franchise even though im kinda sorta only playing bc of leon rn lol but i am going on summer break soon (with one college class X_X) and am gonna have all the time in the world to discover all the other games
but for now thank y’all so much for reading and i hope that you stay safe, stay kind, and have a good day/night/afternoon wherever you are! :3 (to anyone working on finals, good luck and don’t forget to take a break!!)

Do you like Will Wood? What do you like about his music? I can't see the appeal YET, could you advertise it to me? lol
considering ive listened to pretty much nothing but will wood for the past couple weeks, i'd say i like him a bit lol
i honest to god think he's a fantastic lyricist first and foremost, i'd recommend listening with the lyrics up if you listen on spotify. ngl, if youve got audio processing problems like i do, this is a godsend fjdjhf. he sings very quickly at times (part of the appeal to me tbh) so it can be hard to understand what he's saying. when you do know though, my god singing along is a stim like no other
it's also very cathartic to listen to songs written by someone who deals with the same mental health problems i do too. he very clearly has a lot to say and uses his music as an avenue to do that
i like how unique he sounds, will wood's music bounces all over the place and he genuinely sounds like nobody i've ever listened to before. he's got such an incredible range with his voice too, suburbia overture is a fantastic example of this
if you want a recommendation on where to start, i'd wholeheartedly recommend the normal album. it's my favourite and i think it's a good showcase of his talents. it also has a lot of my favourite songs by him too, like,, it's a no skip album for me, i love every song. if you like that album, i'd recommend "in case i make it" next and then looking at the stuff he did as will wood and the tapeworms
but yeah! i hope this was a good advertisement of him or whatever djdjf. i think it's also alright if you don't end up liking his stuff, it's not for everyone and that's okay

So i found this hidden gem at the thrift store today
Tumblr media
Its called System Riviera, by the belgian artist Dirk Da Davo, aka Neon Electronics
The genre is kinda EDM, kinda psychedelic and overall pretty fucking sick
My favorite songs are Sept XL and Nice And Sexy they're so good i cant stop stimming when i listen to this album but these 2 songs specifically (tho any song i like makes me stim uncontrollably fajfjsjf)
It cost me 25¢, literally no one knows this album, the songs have like 100 views on youtube and they aren't even on soundcloud fjsjfjdj so im sooo lucky to have found it its probably one of my favorites amongst the cds i have at home i love it so so much
I spent the afternoon rearranging my cd shelf so that they're in alphabetical order and this was perfect to groove while cleaning the cd cases
Anyway i found it in spotify so here's the link if anyone wants to listen to this underground masterpiece:

Hi! I love your analysis posts! So, I have a question: What kind of music do you think the Octonauts (And any Octo agents you want to add) would listen to, and what are their favorite song?
merci beaucoup <33 I have very little actual musical "knowledge"; I just like specific songs that go beep bap boop a specific way, but I'll try my best here—and as for their favourite songs, I'll just name some songs that remind me of them, if that's okay 👍
Barnacles likes accordion of course, so he'd probably enjoy anything that incorporates it. I can see him liking most genres tbh, he's not super picky—but he definitely likes folk and classical, and he LOVES sea shanties—almost more than Kwazii 👀
Dear Fellow Traveler - Sea Wolf
Born For Greatness - Papa Roach
AND:
Leaving London
Lost
Ship In A Bottle
Abandon Ship* (*pretend it's Kwazii singing to him)
They're all from an album by Steffan Argus, and you need to listen to them in order because they tell a story, and the whole thing is so Him fr.
See also:
Bones In The Ocean - The Longest Johns
—if you'd enjoy some Manitoba angst vibes.
Kwazii claims he ONLY listens to the jauntiest of shanties... but the secret truth is that he is pretty picky about them, and about music in general. He has auditory sensory issues, and one off note makes him want to curl up and perish, which is why he gets so upset when the Captain plays anything. As for his REAL taste: basically just Cosmo Sheldrake-core, his own singing, and anything Peso or the Vegimals play/sing.
Every Cosmo Sheldrake song ever, actually; but I recommend Come Along and The Moss the most.
The Villain I Appear To Be - Diamond Jack
Fish In A Birdcage - [band has the same name as the song]
King and Lionheart - Of Monsters And Men
I will not explain any of those- just listen to them and know that I Am Right /lh.
I forget the context, but I remember saying at one point that Shellington enjoys things that are organized and rhythmic (actually, now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure the context was someone sharing their headcanon of him having a music stim with me—so there ya go 👍) so I can fully see him enjoying either electronica, or orchestra. Two very different things, but I rest my case.
Told You So - Nathan Evans
Tardigrade Song - Cosmo Sheldrake (I know I said every CS song belonged to Kwazii, but shh- this one's Shellington's.)
Line Without A Hook - Ricky Montgomery. just based on vibes tbh.
Tweak likes chiptune because I like chiptune and she is just like me fr /hj. Okay but actually she does LOVE electronic music—and any music that's like,, not made with traditional instruments?? Yeah. She likes chaotic music, and likes to jam out to folk with Barnacles because it feels nostalgic to her.
Bottom Of The River - Delta Rae
Crazy = Genius - P!@TD
Curses - The Crane Wives (this is also a Calico Jack song somehow- it fits both of them lol)
Pieces And Parts - Sydney Zarlengo
Sweet Hibiscus Tea - Penelope Scott
Little Talks - Of Monsters and Men BUT it's a duet between her and Barnacles /p
See also:
The Last Shanty - Derina Harvey Band
—for some Manitoba!Tweak vibes.
Dashi listens to nightcore. She also got Peso into it. Honestly I feel like the two of them are both into pretty much anything—Dashi has a preference for pop, and Peso definitely likes symphonies, ballads, and anything that's chill and lofi.
Dashi also listens to hard rock and heavy metal in her spare time, and it disorients the heck out of whoever witnesses it randomly come on in her shuffled playlists. However, the only type of music I can't see Peso liking, is really loud music; like rock or metal—so they're the exact same and polar opposites at the same time 😂
I ALSO always think of Dashi when I listen to Marina—no idea why lol—might be her accent 😅
I don't have many songs for either of em- but here's what I've got:
Peso:
Cold Cold Cold - Cage The Elephant
Anxiety Song - Human Petting Zoo
Dashi:
Right Hand Man - Something Rotten
Hermit The Frog - Marina. just vibes once again.
Inkling:
Dude exclusively listens to oldies, classics, and like,,, Beethoven probably, BUT! I feel like any one of the Octonauts could ask him to listen to anything and he would. He unironically enjoys Kwazii's music.
Octopus' Garden - The Beatles
Vegimals:
They all have ridiculously contrasting tastes; they all probably enjoy the same kind of music as their respective Octonaut counterparts—but aside from that, they mostly just make their own music so they can all be happy.
Get Back Up Again but SPECIFICALLY the version from Disney's Trolls. trust me on this.
(some) Agent songs under cut:
Calico Jack me beloved:
I headcanon that he wrote his own theme song, so he likes shanties for sure; but I feel like as the years went by and he grew as a person, his music and general interests toned down a lot—so now he's more into ballads, and very Lord Huron or Hozier-esque music.
(all the following songs are angsty but they also hit HARD ykwim?? aye 👀 /pos)
Never Love An Anchor - The Crane Wives
Farewell Wanderlust - The Amazing Devil
Problems - Mother Mother
Metaphor - The Crane Wives
Flight Of The Crows - Jhariah
(oh look a non-angsty song–)
That's Life - Frank Sinatra
Natquik my beloved²:
Barnacles 100% got his music taste from him, I cannot be told otherwise. That's all I have to say about him.
Constellations - The Oh Hellos
Snow - Ricky Montgomery
December - Ricky Montgomery
New Discovery - The Crane Wives
Runaway - Aurora
plus bonus:
Hand Me My Shovel, I'm Going In - Will Wood
Touch-Tone Telephone - Lemon Demon
—to satisfy my personal "I think Natquik deserves to go feral" needs.
Ranger Marsh my belov–:
Exclusively listens to folk and country, and actively refuses to branch out his horizons.
Cicada Days - Will Wood
Swarm Swamp Swim - Cosmo Sheldrake
Birdhouse In My Soul - They Might Be Giants
Tracker:
On one hand, I really like headcanoning that he likes to sing when he's alone—and is actually pretty good; but on the other hand... I think it'd be hilarious if he had unbelievably bland taste in terms of what he enjoys listening to 😂 He has no real preference, so he just lets whoever he's with control the radio. For their sake.
Hold It In - Jukebox The Ghost
I shall not/cannot explain why that song reminds me of him but it does so much-
and I don't have any more for him, RIP ✌️😔 I could probably find some easily if I looked, but I'm lazy ┐(‘~`;)┌
Paani:
He has weird taste too; but unlike Tracker, he has the most alternative underground music taste you can imagine, and he WILL subject you to it. He eats bugs in a universe of talking bugs, and I think it'd be funny if all of his interests were on the same wavelength lmao. He's just a weirdo (affectionate).
Just like Tracker I probably could find more songs if I actually tried to look—but for now all I have is this:
Water Island - My Singing Monsters
I found it on tiktok and it's literally His Song™ ever fr.

Ask game 5, 11, and 20 :)
5. Favorite band
hard to say, I tend to kinda pick an artist each day and just throw their discography on album shuffle to some extent
that said tho Death Cab wrote most of the songs that I would use to describe myself as a person so probably them? honorable mentions to Sleeping At Last, MCR, Phoebe Bridgers, and Linkin Park who are all pretty frequently in rotation
11. Favorite flower
I'm not a huge flower person, but I always liked yellow snapdragons - I loved making the 'mouths' open and close as a kid and it was an affection that was *mine* and not because of anybody else which doesn't happen too often
20. Five things you love
thissssss is a kind of vague question so I'm gonna give a kinda wide ranging answer! if I had to pick five things I love to describe myself:
I love rain, all kinds; the thunderstorms that keep you indoors in a blanket reading and drinking tea by the window, the misty morning rain that's barely there but if you go out in the morning it clings to you when you go back inside, the light summer rain through the trees that barely reaches the ground through the foliage but the sound of it on the leaves fills you up and every drop that makes it through feels like a surprise, the unexpected rain that catches you on the street and you decide to just walk home and splash in puddles and look forward to dry clothes and a warm drink and a blanket, the torrential downpour that starts in the afternoon while you're relaxing and the wildness of it drives you to put down what you're doing and go outside and stand in a puddle barefoot with your face raised to the sky
I love trees; the oaks and beeches and maples and birches and pines are the biggest thing I got homesick for when I used to leave New England
I love singing; I've had very little opportunity for formal training or performance, but I sing pretty much any time I'm not talking or listening to something else. sometimes it's an expression of comfort or joy or some other feeling, sometimes it's self-soothing, sometimes it's just a vocal stim, but I know probably a hundred or two songs by heart and I'm pretty good :)
I love words; I love the subtle nuances and how minor changes can change the tone or intention in a sentence or a conversation, I love learning about etymologies and figuring out where I picked up a certain word or definition from. I love editing, and picking apart sentence flows and discussing effective communication to specific audiences (I help my housemate make/edit course materials for her classes sometimes and always enjoy it)
I love teaching; to me, the most fulfilling thing to do once I've reached a point of pride in my own competence at anything, is to try and pass on the knowledge and joy that I get to other people. I'm not a teacher, I'm an under-educated high school dropout, but I love to talk about and share my knowledge of the things I do know, whether it's games or practical computer skills or the therapy skills I've acquired over the years as a patient or whatever else. trying to figure out the best way to teach an individual or how to re-frame my own thinking to better accommodate them is a fun challenge
haha oops that all got. very long and rambly I blame thinking about why I love rain for putting me in a Mood(tm) (also it's 5am and I can't sleep and my brain-do-words filter is shot)
thank you for the ask <3

1. Howl -- Chuu
So... that was haunting. Damn. This song is like a mystery novel I can't put down.
2. Chasing That Feeling -- TXT
I didn't know I needed their angsty pop-rock vocals on a synthpop song, but I totally did! And the PRODUCTION. Look, I'm completely sold on this one.
3. Wilson (Expensive Mistakes) -- Fall Out Boy
*jumps around the room* WE HAVE ANOTHER ONE FOR MIRROR KARAOKE, Y'ALL
4. Pumped Up Kicks -- Foster The People
Look, I don't know how this became my comfort song this month--well, that's a lie. That weird horn instrumental from the verses in "Chasing That Feeling" is my favorite part of the song, and it also happens to remind me of the instrumental in THIS song, so I listened to both of those songs WAYYY too much this month.
5. Underwater -- Red Velvet
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
6. Chill Kill -- Red Velvet
I like this one against my will! (I'm still not totally sold on the chorus, but I keep listening to it anyway.) I hope this ages as well as "Feel My Rhythm" did last year, because I took a while with that one, too.
7. 1985 -- Hotel Apache
We love #stim songs!!
8. Drama -- Aespa
This chorus is the vocal stim of the year! Well, there is XG's "everything I do, I do it A-1 flaw-less"... I'll call it a tie!
9. Super -- Seventeen
I talked about this in September, and I'm still obsessed! The producers make SUCH good use of that opening instrumental throughout the song--it’s captivating!
10. Abittipsy -- Youha
A slightly-older angsty synth masterpiece to pair with "Chasing That Feeling" !!
11. Whistle Like That -- Cherry Bullet
Yeah, I'm totally here for Cherry Bullet's weird, plastic-y pop sound. I'm kind of obsessed with how obnoxiously artificial their music is, and I'm glad they're still out here making songs I can't really justify liking (and adore anyway)!!
12. Colorful -- TripleS
I've been pretty indifferent to tripleS, since they're The NFT Group and I don't really want to care about The NFT Group... but luckily, I haven't heard about the NFT thing at all in the year since their debut! That makes it easier to just appreciate their music, and this one really is gorgeous--it has a great buildup, and the high notes are SO pretty.
13. Closer -- The Chainsmokers, Halsey
I blame Todd in the Shadows. But I do LOVE Halsey on this.
14. Yolo -- Aespa
This one is… too perfect for me to really like? I don't know, I feel like I've been weirdly indifferent to songs I think are beautiful this month! This one's great, and I'm sure I've listened to it a lot. I'm not sure I like it, though--it's probably just my mood right now.
15. Standing Next to You -- Jung Kook
The BTS solos have brought SUCH a flair for the dramatic to kpop lately, and I'm so happy about it. (Just don't ask me about the album.)
Five-Star Songs This Month:
Chasing That Feeling -- TXT (defined my month, and it didn’t even come out this month.)
Vroom Vroom -- Weeekly (i have to put this here!! i can see the problems with it, but it really does play to their strengths so well! i'm a huge fan of them, and of this comeback in particular)

liberate - slipknot ; this song makes me feel a certain way 🚶 a quite silly and rambunctious typa way
darkness - rage against the machine ; it's the curse of the crow soundtrack i fear. aka one of the greatest movie soundtracks of all time. to me. can't imagine a world where i would ever skip this beauty and i will not ever BE part of a world where i ever skip this song as it comes on. no way no how

flower boy review : fucking beautiful no complaints beyond rating on any scale. ill note some things about every song cause :3
foreword: holy shit what an opener. nothing lasts forever, nothing sticks together????? absolutely heart wrenching. amazing lyrics amazing everything THE ENDING SYNTHS?,$,%?"? breathtaking i swear to god
where this flower blooms: i would just like to say AGSGDGSUSHDHSGSHDJSHAHDGSJAGSGSJSGDD. instrumentals are beautiful tyler sounds beautiful frank sounds beautiful lyrics are chefs kiss what else is there left
sometimes...: i dont care if its one minute long I dont care its so fucking pretty and soft and sobbing material. on my first listen it jumpscared me because i thought it was BOYFRIEND. also the voice of the radio host is very comforting and helps me not dissociate
see you again: 20-20 20-20 vision cupid hit me cupid hit me with precision i wonder if u look both ways when u cross my mind i said i said im sick of sick of sick of sick of chasing ure the one thats always running through my daydreams i i can only see ur face when i close my eyes its so fucking beautiful kalis voice is heavenly this song makes me want to die
who dat boy: god everything about this one is just fucking beautiful the synths the lyrics the delivery asap sounds just so fucking good. everythings just. AGHDGDHSG and the ending feels like getting run over /pos
pothole: this is probably a song ill use to demonstrate tyler as an artist to whoevers interested in my autistic rambling cause. its one of the longer songs in the album its got stops n twists n turns the instrumental is to die for jadens voice is just so pretty. its one of The tyler songs to me. but dont take that last part seriously cause i say it about every song
garden shed: this one is the first song off flower boy ive ever listened to. it is just So. ITS JUST SO!!!!! estelles voice the slow pacing its such a good waltz. i would have to write out the whole lyrics because theres no one part of them i love more. its just so beautiful
boredom: everything about this song makes me feel like im going to die if i dont hold head in hands dramatically. its so vulnerable and heart breaking annas voice the harmonies the orchestrals everything just makes me want to sob. the end is especially devastating. another one im gonna use to explain tyler
i aint got time: god where to begin. whatever sample he used in there is fucking perfect for the job everythings so good and stimulating his delivery is flawless everything makes me wanna jump and kick and dance its all just beautiful. the ending is very silly i love it and also WOAHHHHHH. FUCK YEA GOOD FOR HIM
911 / mr lonely: just thinking about it is devastating. every time i listen to it i am mentally on the floor in fetal position. its so sorrowful and emotional while having the best motherfucking instrumentals and delivery like GOD i never doubted him but this man really does it all
droppin seeds: ok this is where my notes will fall a little flat. i cant take mentions of sex in any capacity seriously i am sorry. its a beautiful song though and i love it
november: oh god this one BREAKS me. its so emotional and open and i cant fucking get enough of it. and yet again it does so while being a FUCKING BANGER. the last verse always hits like a sack of wet mice and oh is it really bitch u know the dealy really hilly willy tilly silly hold that billy how i milly rock is soon going to become my newest vocal stim and i have no choice but to accept it
glitter: god what a devastating sad song. it really captures what its talking about. how joyful and cute and loving it is AND THEN the lowered pitch & tempo please dont save me the repetition of how ya feel? the kinda second half is all so much like being stuck in heartbreak i love it. it makes me feel like im falling from heaven. plausibly crowley style
enjoy right now, today: honestly with the sad note glitter ends on this one sounds so bright in comparison its fucking hilarious. i honestly didnt expect it to be almost fully instrumental but holy shit if anything it just shows how good he is even without lyrics. i have also never heard a more work at a pizza place song in my LIFE and its honestly making me wanna redownload roblox just cause i feel nostalgic. FUCK what a good closer
yeah thats it im done <3

4, 25 (+ music recs if u wanna!), and 28 for the ask game!
4. mythical creature you think/believe is real?
low-key believe faeries could be real tbh on like a minute scale. I've always liked to think of "small magic" being real, explaining away little things that don't quite make sense? also I like to think that mermaids and other mythical sea creatures could exist in the unexplored depths of the ocean... not quite in the way we depict them tho because of the extreme environment
25. would you say you have good taste in music?
yes I have the best and coolest taste in music (jokes) but well I do think I have a pretty interesting varied taste in music that I'm proud of! getting lost in interesting songs and singing along to my favourite songs are some of my favourite ways to stim lol. I'm a big fan of complex guitar melodies and synth sounds & some recommendations I have are:
the entire peripheral vision album by turnover (indie rock/dream pop with pop punk roots?)
pile! no pile! pile! by brave little abacus (midwest emo genre with sorta screamy vocals)
a girl is a knife by boxcutter (always gotta shout out boxxy, the first time I listened to their album sorta blew my mind. great lil emo band with a super fantastic guitarist. I'm a boxhead. vocals are screamy)
all these things by benton falls (more midwest emo but less harsh vocals)
trust me by sincere engineer (I love her she's so good. this is my favourite of her stuff but it's all great. she's like emo pop punk esque singer songwriter)
speeding up the octaves by hawthorne heights (classic emo rock. I love the entire silence in black and white album it's hard to pick just one song but. if u enjoy this I'd recommend checking out the whole album)
untitled #6 by girlfriends (just. so much fun. very math rocky sound. I love this song & this whole album is also great)
and now for some goth rock:
mondlicht by xmal deutschland
Судно (Борис Рижий) by molchat doma
wax and wane by cocteau twins
I coldly stare out by pink turns blue
dot in the sky by drab majesty
fantasmas by twin tribes
esfumados sueños by euroshima
silaluk by shadow age
28. last meal on earth?
THIS IS HARD. something with fun textures... like risotto. with a side of raw beef dish (carpaccio or tartare). and a beef kafta wrap from the Syrian restaurant near me...

I will not make you drop prosciutto lore so pls pls pls give me ghiaccio headcanons :)
Oh my god Ghiaccio my friend my best friend GHIACCIO…
-First of all he has ADHD this isn’t even a headcanon I just know and perceive the truth
-I think he stims when he’s agitated or overwhelmed, and I think he gets agitated when he gets over or under stimulated.
-I think a lot of people see him and think that he’s constantly angry or has no control over his anger, but not so I say. He’s actually incredibly good at controlling his anger. He’s basically a pro at taking a step back and taking a breath to let the moment pass, he doesn’t typically let it control him, especially in moments where he knows it wouldn’t be helpful or would be detrimental (when he’s working etc)
-The thing with him though is that he doesn’t necessarily need to control his anger around his teammates. Obviously he’s not going to let himself get out of control because of it, but they’re used to his shouting and he doesn’t feel any need to really force himself not to do it. As long as he’s not doing it all the time, most of them let it be with him.
-Pretty common headcanon for him I think but I think he learned how to ice skate as a kid and it was a good outlet for his energy and anger. I think he really put his everything into it it was something he really loved but maybe for some reason couldn’t fully pursue and that’s why White Album manifested the way it did. Idk.
-He still skates when he gets the chance but he also spends a fair amount of time at the gym. I don’t know much about fighting styles so forgive me but I think he might be into like professional fighting and like grappling and stuff. Learning how to throw people around easily despite his shorter height. Idk. Boxing maybe? Get him a punching bag.
-I think he and Formaggio could watch sports together. He’s probably the only one who gets into them as much as Maggio does. They might also be able to rope like Prosciutto or Illuso or maybe even Risotto into watching a game with them from time to time. The only problem with this is that Formaggio tends to hype people up and match their energy, which is usually good, but in this instance it means the two of them feed into each other and get very loud.
-He’s very clearly a lot more logically minded than anything so I’m gonna use this as an opportunity to say that I think he and Trish would get along shockingly well. I think there would be a disconnect at first because he can be so loud so suddenly and Trish doesn’t care for that, but she’s ALSO a very logically minded person, so I think they would find some common ground there. He’s got a fixation of sorts on linguistics, and I think she would listen to his little rants about them and understand where he’s coming from. He would appreciate her listening and letting him get his thoughts out, and I think she might genuinely engage him on these things. I’m return I think he would try his best to watch his volume for her, something that isn’t as hard as he initially thinks it’s going to be.
-I think he’s pretty loud and seemingly angry anyway, but I think if you really push him over the edge and get him genuinely pissed off, he’s an angry crier. It takes quite a bit, but get him mad enough and he’ll start to tear up and have to force himself through whatever point he’s making hurriedly before he storms off.
