So much love and recognition to the people who don't know how they feel about recovering. To the people whose scars are fading away, and there's a sinking feeling, despite knowing that it's a good thing. To the people who miss when they were "worse," when they felt "broken." To the people who mourn losing their coping mechanisms, even the ones that were destructive, scary, or unpleasant. To those who feel guilty they're healing because their past self wasn't ready.

Whatever it is, there is nothing wrong with any of those feelings. It's a natural reaction, something you don't have ultimate control over. There is nothing shameful about yourself, and I admire the strength it takes to recognize how you feel, even the parts that do feel like the "wrong" reaction to a Good Thing.

sat around with my grandparents talking for like 4hrs and we got into some really good really deep conversations and I listened as they told me stories from their younger years and it was just really nice. After Sailing three nights and four days, we arrive in the Island of Old Providence also know as Isla de Providencia generally known as Providencia or Providence, is a mountainous Caribbean island that is part of the Colombian department of Archipelago of San Andrés. The island was destroyed In November 2020, Hurricane LOTA directly impacted the island. An estimated 98% of all infrastructure was destroyed from the impact, making it one of the worst and strongest tropical cyclones to impact Colombia.

Yesterday was the 4th anniversary of my grandmother's death, which makes my dad's baffling updates about his wife's health even more incomprehensible.

His wife had knee surgery today and he sent me nonstop texts about it starting yesterday and all day today, and I'm like 1. I don't care, I've met the woman once and tried to avoid her as much as possible and have no interest in her other than a vague "she's a human person" way. And 2. remember when your mom died four years ago and it was a huge big deal (and death anniversaries are a HUGE big deal in Judiasm) and this is what you're texting me about?

I will never understand my family.
