I just started watching teen titans, and my siblings keeps complaining about it and how the pilot was bad.. But the whole point of the pilot is to show that they aren’t a normal team, they are kids who are still learning how to navigate the world. They are a new team who isn’t over powered and win every single battle (they literally lose their fist fight of the sires)

They are just kids, the tower is messy, their food is rotting, and they annoy each other. But when it really matters they know how to work as a team and know how to be friends (this is proven by robins line at the end of the ep) “We will. But right now, I'm just happy to be part of the team.” As a group they are still figuring out their dynamics, it’s the beginning of a new show.

Also im watching lego batman instead of an any other batman movie (nothing against lego batman great movie i just rather be watching like super sons or a superman movie idk)

Anyways, my version of Y/N! I read with my name, but I'm going to call her Nautilus because it's easier.

OKAYBOKAY SO originally I had her with, like, brown "hair". Because me. But then I was like, "that doesn't make sense because she's underwater" so I made her have purplish hair.

I think I remember reading that she had some bioluminescence??? In, like, the first chapters or something, but maybe it was her talking about how she knows other Mers who have that, but not to the extent od Sun/Moon.

ANYWAYS so she has bioluminescent freckles scattered about her body, but primarily on her face. Her fins, which are a dark dark blue, can somewhat splay out and have bio markings on them.

I imagine they're incredibly bright, and form swirling patterns, and maybe eyes on her ear fins? To scare off predators and such. I just really like glowing things, lmaoo.

Her eyes, if you squint, went through a few different colors;

First was a darker blue (similar to mine irl). I scrapped this immediately because it's not exactly realistic on a fish.

Then I went with a bright yellow-amber. Then scrapped THAT because it didn't fit right (imo)

Then there was bright green, but I still didn't like it.

So then I FINALLY looked up deep sea eye colors, and the unanimous answer was a pale, milky blue. So that's the color I settled on.

Back to colors: I chose a dark blue/purple palette because (A) I like those colors and (B) I think they're more realistic for underwater. Because camouflage, y'know?

I know that it was mentioned several times (?) that her scales dulled while in the aquarium, so I made a diluted version, too I just made a layer of grayish over it lmao

Okay uh so headcanon time I guess??

-- Nautilus used to flash her bio marks to show off in her pod. She had some of the brightest, and she took pride in that.

-- She often would keep her hair up. Be it buns, ponytails, or braids. Her sisters, grandmother, and great-grandmother would often play with it.

-- Eldest of five (all sisters), Naut was often in charge of babysitting. She became quite good at it, and would often babysit the pups in her pod.

-- In doing so, she amassed a GIANT collection of shells. She treasured all of them.

-- Her initial hesitance towards Vanessa was slightly thawed because the blonde reminded her of her oldest-younger sister, Anemone, a pale mer with yellowish "hair".

-- She had a pet Leaf Sheep when she was a pup. Screw reality, I'm going to say they live longer than a year. When it died, she was heartbroken.

-- After Petal (she was not original with names back then) died, she adopted an Oarfish. His name is Titan. He is very much alive. She misses him desperately.

-- Absolutely will talk Sun and Moon's ear off about him. They originally thought he was a suitor or something.

-- If they ever make it to her old home or pod, Titan will be there. Sun and Moon will be scared shitless. Titan will come up, check 'em out, then immediately go curl around Nautilus. He's a giant sweetheart.

-- If they DON'T ever get home, Titan will eventually find them, and the above will occur

-- Look I just want my mer to have a pet sue me

-- Anyways, speaking of Vanessa: I like to imagine she'd have a more gold sheen to her (eventual) scales. Which causes Naut to be even MORE attached.

Something that bothers me is the idea that, that first law could be implimented. And that somehow this shouldn't make anyone angry/bothered?

You're telling me that a "joke" law, that was supposed to be an exemple for the voting system, and that directly aims at one specific resident could be emplimented ?

A joke law that, btw, was rigged since one of the habitant got to vote multiple times for it. And that less than 1/3 of the island was present for the vote. Showing the flaws of said voting system and pushing The President to change said voting system the day after that?

I'm even more bothered by the idea that some people (on twitter) seems to think that it wouldn't be that big of an issue if the law aimed at another resident of the island so this isn't that big of a deal. And no, if there was suddently a law about "it's not allowed to build titans" or "it's not allowed to do 20 dongeons a day" no one would be happy about that either lmaoo

I'm not going to use big words on this of course, but making a law that carter to one specific person IS a big deal and implementing a law based off the vote, of a voting system that doesn't work IS a big deal too!

I'm a irl politic nerd and seeing all of the qsmp voting system drama unfold is really interesting because yeah, making a voting system is fucking hard, i'm enjoying seeing how it unfold and i really really hope that first law isn't gonna be put into action as qBaghs and qForever talked about it yesterday

8 TV shows to get to know me

Supernatural- I can't escape. This is literally the first show I ever watched on Netflix once my family first got a streaming service in 2019 and now I'm insane. I love how fixated this fandom is on the behind the scenes of the show- childhood me would’ve eaten that up and I wish I discovered this earlier.

Fleabag- amazing show I have no notes

The Good Place- made me cry and laugh and I will always love it

Sherlock- Middle school me was insane for watching seasons 1-3 on dailymotion with a dark vignette always covering the screen to avoid copyright. I just really wanted to watch it lmaoo. Me and my dad bonded over this show because we both like the character and it made me read some of the original books. The meat knife quote and the rotisserie chicken wedding murder live in my mind rent free. Actually this show should probably be in 2nd place bc of how much I remember from it + it was the first tv show I watched all the way through.

Boys Over Flowers- the only k drama I've watched and it makes me laugh so hard. They don't make them like these anymore. So fun to watch with friends/family

Star Trek Original Series- I'm still in the middle of watching it but anyway if I wasn't so into spn I would probably be a full on trekkie

Fairy Tail- probably the first "fandom" I was involved in where I learned more about shipping. I watched way too many episodes of this as a 6th grader

Attack on Titan- I didn't even get past season 1 bc of the long hiatus but idk I feel like this show had a large impact on me. Especially in terms of getting me motivated to draw lol. And my cousins still facetime me in the middle of the night to keep me updated on it. Oh yeah and it made me buy my first fandom shirt from Hot Topic.

Had to come back to this one because hoooooooooooooooo boy do I have so many that I can't even remember. I practically grew up with tv and spent a good chunk watching it, so uh mannnn. Here's some in no particular order:

-Let's just start right off with Wild Kratts. PBS show about two dudes helping animals live free and in the wild. So popular it always won the vote every Friday to air a double-special. It's also where I got my username, based off my fave ep "Tazzy Chris". ive no idea where kiki comes from.

-Jane and the Dragon <3

-Dreamworks Dragons series, especially Race to the Edge. I practically breathe HTTYD. Sucks they won't let it fuckin rest peacefully!!!!

-Obviously, Transformers Prime. I had a Bumblebee backpack and everything! And that whole almost getting hit by a train ordeal.

-Saddle Club, i watched a bunch of rerun episodes on Pluto TV! I still adore the theme song!

-Winx Club! Sucks they won't let it fuckin rest peacefully!!!!

-Monster High!! They had some lows but hey the new show seems to be wayyyyyy better than the live action movie, tho idk if any new incarnation can live up to the vibes of the first one for me.

-Code Lyoko! I still need to rewatch it(again), and honestly I'm not even sure I finished it. The latest I remember is the William Arc.

-TMNT 2k12! The show has some serious character writing issues and keeps tricking itself into thinking half-assed romance arcs are the peak of story telling but I still very much love it and it has a special place in my heart.

-Ninjago!!!! It recently just ended and I might cry aaaaaaaaaaaaa

-Ben 10 all the way to Ultimate Alien!

★ Choreographer!Connie enjoyed the limelight, being on everyone’s radar for being one of the best upcoming dancers in the industry. Even with this title, he is extremely humble and grateful that people are putting him in such a light.

★ Choreographer!Connie decided after some months of contemplating to open up his own dance studio! Springer’s Dance Studio was an instant hit as many people signed up the moment he posted the application.

★ Choreographer!Connie also made a youtube channel dedicated to showing his classes and some of his own personal choreography moves just to put more credentials under his belt. Which lead to him have 2 million subscribers in one month.

★ Choreographer!Connie who uses his connections to invite some of his very close friends to his classes to be a second pair of eyes for him, giving his students the chance to give their all and open to the door of brilliant opportunities for them.

Chapter 17 - We Shop for Water Beds

Theme of the day: Wit

This feels like a filler chapter lol. Like important things happened but vibe-wise it’s kinda like the bottom of a roller coaster ride right before and after more exciting bits.

In terms of wit, Annabeth of course gets some moments. Idk how she got the idea that the LotusCash card might work in that cab, but it was certainly ingenious lmaoo. Like I would’ve just assumed that it wouldn’t work since it’s from the godly world. Maybe it was more an act of desperation, a we’ve got less than a day to complete our quest try anything that might work.

Y’know that feeling when you’re like “oh this is bad” and then something else happens and you go “wait no this is much worse”? That’s probably how Annabeth felt when Percy said the voice in the pit didn’t feel like a god’s lol. Because if it isn’t a god, then it must be a titan or something older, which is way worse than dealing with Hades. And I’m sure just mentioning it would also send out bad vibes whether it was true or not.

Percy shows off a bit of wit in this chapter too! This ends up happening a lot in Riordan’s stories, where the characters have to be a bit silver-tongued and trick their adversaries rather than full on fight them. So far Percy has only had the latter in the quest where his power and skills are up to the test, so I think this is the first time we see him solely use his wit to defeat a monster. It’s not really a calculated intelligence we see in Annabeth, but more of on-the-fly street smarts. He’s not dumb, contrary what he or outsiders might think. Like he recognizes that he can’t beat Procrustes in a fight alone, so first he stalls, he makes the giant lower his guard, and then finds an opportunity and acts. A bit manipulative but my boy’s got a quest to finish lol. It was interesting reading how Percy “had no qualms” about chopping off Procrustes’ head, since the morals of a hero’s ruthlessness against monsters comes into question in hoo. Like kinda feel bad for the guy, all he wanted was to for people to fit his beds! Is that too much to ask? 😂

The nereid offhandedly mentioned that Percy was foretold to have a “great and terrible future should he reach manhood” and it made me think about when the age of manhood was in Ancient Greece. I know it’s probably referring to the Great Prophecy since Riordan didn’t have plans for Percy after the series ended at this point but now I’m curious lol. Though I’m getting so many different answers depending on region, century, and ritual?? Like anywhere between 12-20. This might need more research and not at like 11pm lmao.

album review: spy x family cour 1 soundtrack -- (K)NoW_NAME !!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE SPY X FAMILY !! the soundtrack isn't as good as kimi no na wa and assassination classroom but it's still really memorable! most are quite short (>2 mins)

can't wait for this ost and to hear the funny recorder music whenever anya does something HAHAH

i recommend watching the show before reading this, or listening to the soundtrack while reading! this has 45 tracks so it'll be a LONG one

starting off with the spy theme!! actually it's more like the superhero theme from the incredibles, but these are just repeated a lot HAHAH

kind of iconic but not the best of the best, i feel like I've heard it a lot but at least they switched up some of the parts nearing the end

same spy theme! just introducing one of the main characters, loid

i really like this track name, it matches the vibes! not too interesting, just background music

the more funny version of the spy theme is here! it matches the comedy of sxf and is a recurring theme for the more funny parts in this series :)

the guitar strums and how they are placed on different sides of my earphones are cool! I'm glad they went to this amount of detail for a soundtrack :) 

(yeah i know charlie puth did the same with left and right but i don't exactly support him rn )

the funny spy theme! just at a faster pace, and towards the end more intense and focused, like they are executing a plan (hence the title HAHA)

the funny spy theme on it's own!! with the funny out-of-tune recorder like in the shittyflute version of titanic LMAOO

i love this, it was what got me interested in the soundtrack (i was like: i really want to hear the recorder part!)

8/10, really conveys the theme AND enhances it, making it so much more funny

track 8: girl's pastime

another similar funny theme, i love this one too! it's more light-hearted :)

i like the sudden serious part that becomes some light strings? that seem to convey a ?? feeling, like: hmm i wonder what will happen if i do this! what about this? oh no.

i tend to like funny memorable things, 8/10

track 9: subject 007

sad version of the funny spy theme, i think this is about loid's backstory :( 

sad but lighthearted, but not too memorable

reminds me of ambulances and police invasions! the music really conveys the tension and can be used for any movie that requires this scene

creepy vibes, would fit squid game well! a bit too quiet for my liking because the rest of the album is loud, but it would fit as a background track. i don't think they adjusted the volume for the official release

quiet, not too sad. a lot of this soundtrack is sad though, im not sure why as the anime is mostly lighthearted and funny

the haunting vocals and metal screeches towards the end are really interesting. pretty long track (~4 mins)

So back to listening to my Percabeth playlist that's full of yearning and it's just a bunch of songs that fits so well to their arcs in the books or just the characters and more songs about yearning. Let me just say, I think I cooked with adding "Rewrite the Stars" in this playlist. And with that song playing reminds me a bit of Titan's curse where Athena talked to Percy for a while and from what I remember she sorts of looks down on him and said something about how he's a son of Poseidon and their beef and how she dislikes his friendship with Annabeth (ALSO FIRST OF ALL, YOU DON'T GET TO BE THE MOM YOU'VE NEVER BEEN IM SORRY) and now that made me think tangentially of what they're gonna do with that in the show. I think that will be very interesting to watch, how Athena is gonna be depicted. I mean so far we've only known her from what she did with Annabeth, sort of like this very authoritative, never present mother and that's partly because she's embarrassed because she is also a dutiful daughter of Zeus.

So I do want to see more of that for her, not because her decisions are influenced by Zeus but just her in general. I'm sure she's gonna hold her children to a standard, and that includes particularly Annabeth. So Athena having that conversation, would they lean more into that or would she be just this help to Percy more than she was in the books. But from what we're already seeing from her, maybe she could be the former.

And that will be very interesting for Percy. Because I'm sure by that time he's becoming aware of his feelings for Annabeth. Probably at that moment he was ready to tell her that but Athena talked him into just not doing it lmao, warning him of their relationship. And the lyrics for Rewrite the Stars fit so well.

And I do want to see something that sort of parallels Season 1 Ep3, their confrontation, when they started off on the different ends of the spectrum, not really seeing eye to eye when they first met and getting Medusa to really challenge them to confronting their relationship again, but this time on another level that could potentially be something more than just being friends and this time, no one in between them to put them against each other, just them facing it head on. And now I'm just picturing that moment, probably before they got their dance on Olympus, they could use the same words again from that episode. Percy could be hesitating to ask her for a dance the whole time. Annabeth could say something along with the lines of "we're not our parents until we choose to be". Eye contact then they dance. Wow. That's gonna be a moment.

Also love the fact that this train of thought was merely triggered by playing Rewrite the Stars lmaoo this is like a whole script or a fanfic
