Wukong and Xiaotian in the Celestial Realm for their trial✨
I saw some people talking about Wukong getting in trouble for the shit that went down in season 3 and having to attend a trial with the Jade Emperor in season 4, which got me thinkin👁️👁️In the show, Wukong would ~technically~ be a Bodhisattva and would totally dress up to be petty and poor Xiaotian wouldn’t have anything fancy💀
Also Wukong coming to pick up MK covered in gold and MK’s there with his hand-me-down Hanfu he stole from Tang, now suddenly questioning every fashion choice he’s ever made

Peng Doesn't Like Farts
Tumblr media
Fans of Lego Monkie Kid, as many of you may already know, Peng is based on an ancient monster king appearing in chapters 74 to 77 of  Journey to the West (Xiyouji, 西遊記, 1592). In the end of his arc, he is trapped above the Buddha's throne and submits to Buddhism. But you may not know that this very same character appears in a later novel, The Complete Vernacular Biography of Yue Fei (Shuo Yue quanzhuan, 說岳全傳, 1684 CE; a.k.a. The Story of Yue Fei). Peng is exiled from paradise for ... and I'm not joking ... killing a stellar spirit for farting during the Buddha's sermon.
Chapter one of Yue Fei's biography reads:
Let’s talk about the Buddha Tathagata at the Great Thunderclap Monastery in the Western Paradise. One day, he sat on a nine-level lotus throne, and the Four Great Bodhisattvas, the Eight Great Vajra Warriors, the five hundred Arhats, the three thousand Heavenly Kings, nuns and monks, male and female attendants, all of the heavenly sages who protect the Dharma, gathered to listen to his lecture on the Lotus Sutra. His words were like flowers and precious jewels raining from the heavens. But, at that time, a star-spirit, the Maiden Earth Bat, who had been listening to the lecture from beneath the lotus throne, couldn’t bear it any longer and unexpectedly let out a stinky fart. The Buddha was a great, merciful lord, so he didn’t mind even the slightest bit. But don’t sympathize with the Dharma protector above his head, the “Great Peng, the Golden-Winged King of Illumination,” whose eyes shone with golden light and whose back was a scene of auspiciousness. He became angry when he saw the nasty, filthy Maiden Earth Bat, and so he unfurled both his wings and dropped down to kill the spirit by pecking her on the head. The light-point of her soul shot out of the Great Thunderclap Monastery and went to the Lands of the East (China) in the world below to find a mother and reincarnate. She was reborn as a daughter of the Wang clan. She would later marry the Song Prime minister Qin Hui (1091-1155) and come to cruelly kill the righteous (i.e. Yue Fei) as a means to get revenge against today’s enemy. We will talk about this later. Let’s return to the Buddha, who saw what happened with his all-seeing eyes and exclaimed, “Good! Good! It turns out that this is an episode of karma (cause and effect).” Then he called the Great Peng bird to come closer and shouted, “You evil creature! You already took refuge in my teachings. How can you not follow the five precepts by daring to commit such a horrible crime? I don’t need you here; you will descend to the mortal world to pay off your (karmic) debt and wait until you have fulfilled your work. Once that is completed, only then will I allow you to return to the mountain to achieve the right fruit (Buddhist merit).” The Great Peng complied with the decree, flying out of the Great Thunderclap Monastery directly to the Lands of the East to be reincarnated. We will stop here (translation by me).

2 Stone statue monkeys, sitting at the top of a mountain range- where life seems to flourish in the face of disaster that’s just mere inches away- funny- how this place seems the most serene, despite its dangers-

In JttW, changing ones name is quite common and usually accompanied by a big changes in their life (mostly for Buddhist reasons). And LMK seems to acknowledge this since they have used both the pre-Journey Zhu Ganglie as well as his later Zhu Bajie names when talking about the Pig Pilgrim.
And with this line of thought: there is no way that Iron Fan is is PIF's birth name.
Not only is it way too on the nose (unless PIF chose/was given her fan because of her name), she also has gone through a huge change in her life: abandoning her life as a Celestial Maiden and marrying DBK.
Which means... There is a huge opportunity for the show (or fanfic) writers to give her a double identity.
And part of me kinda hopes, if canon, that identity will be Yang Chan; the sister of Erlang Shen.
I mean think about it.
As Celestial, she was shown to have an equal standing with nephew and (kinda) grandson of the Jade Emperor. This makes it very likely that PIF is also related to the Jade Emperor in one way or another.
If she is Yang Chan, her mother would be Yunhua (Yaoji?); a goddess whose job by some sources was to "limit the gods' mortal urges such as love, greed, and ambition". Is it just me, or aren't those also major traits of Iron Fan as a character?
You could argue that DBK getting imprisoned under a mountain is loosely inspired by The Magic Lotus Lantern, the main story Erlang's sister is known for (forbidden marriage, parent getting imprisoned under a mountain by their brother, the son getting a weapon linked to Sun Wukong is a key item at freeing the said parent.)
IronBull family has been part of every single season so far. And when the time to choose the next Jade Emperor comes, it would be so easy for the writers to use PIF (who is still Celestial enough for Azure to refer her as such) as an excuse to get them involved in the progress. Double so if it actually turns out that PIF (and Red Son) has a claim for the throne.
The mere idea of Erlang and PIF as siblings is absolutely hilarios

I find it so funny how the Six Eared Macaque is just “Macaque” in lmk. like- they don’t give him a name or anything they just call him his species. Imagine if we did that with other characters like “Hello I’m the black haired human but you can call me human,”
and I see fanfics try and give him an actual name but for some reason they tend to settle on Liu-er Mihou which is literally just Six Eared Macaque in Chinese.

Okay, time for another blurb from my au!
Meet Macaque’s little helpers in the plaza! Rumble and Savage!
Tumblr media
These little miscreants are programmed to help the toddlers and little kids in the plaza in case they get separated from their parents or take them to other activities if they are unqualified to enter other activities.
They mostly stay in one area of the plaza known as “The Warrior’s Journey”, which is just a jungle gym similar to the one in the sun/moon daycare, but with a more woodland vibe and you can join any competitions to earn a prize from Macaque (the prize being a small pamphlet with the image of the samadhi fire ring on it, which is connected to a larger bit but I’ll explain that later-).
Rumble and Savage spend their time there by helping little children unqualified for “The Warrior’s Journey” do exercises and stretches because children who are at least 4ft or are between 5-14 years are only allowed to play there.
They also keep check with all the kids there in case something happens, like someone’s playing too rough or someone gets badly injured during the competition incase Macaque is not available at the moment (he does wander about the building sometimes, as well as the other animatronics during the day). Of course, should this happen, they must inform nearby employees or Macaque to help because they’re too small to actually do anything. Their eyes allow them to see if there are any disabilities/ allergies/ disorders that the child may have (diagnosed only) and try to stay within what they think would seem easy for the child.
Tumblr media
They only stay there until noon (when that area is closed so that the animatronics can go to their other stations/ wander the plaza to help children and/or adults) before running around the place like little children would do. They are very interactive, and have a close connection with almost everyone that works there. Even the animatronics know them really well.
Tumblr media
It’s obvious they get along with Macaque, and treat him as parental figure, seeking guidance and (sometimes) attention from him. After his program get’s fused with a soul, he actively does his best to kept both the trio and these two safe in the plaza.
Tumblr media
Rumble is more comfortable with the Monkey King than Savage, and has a habit of climbing the hero whenever he’s free. They do consider him as a parental figure, but not as much as the six-eared warrior. After the King has a soul transferred into his body, Rumble sticks to clinging onto his legs instead because the hero’s program, unlike Macaque’s, is glitched and can’t really ensure the safety of the kids too often.
Tumblr media
Chang’e is probably the only one these two like to bother out of all the animatronics, mainly for her eggs. No one really knows why, not even the people who made them, but they treat eggs as some sort of trophy and always try to steal them from Chang’e’s kitchen. It does get annoying when she tries to help the fellow chefs in the kitchen and she’s missing ingredients or cooking utensils only to find them in their clutches.
Surprisingly, other than Macaque, Nezha is their favourite animatronic. Mainly because of his metallic ribbon over his head that they sometimes use to play on. I didn’t draw that happening because I was too tired.
Questions go to the inbox as always. Now, where’s my blurb about the bodies in the plaza . . .
