Lucas: Pleasantly surprised. I think he would wonder why she was trying to quiet herself in the first place and would end up teasing/edging her until she tells him the reason

Njero: A little confused but mostly turned on. He wouldn't really question it out loud, as to why his partner was being quiet for the longest, he would just be happy that she's finally being more vocal and open with the way she feels

Leumin: Extremely turned on. Her loud moans would be motivation and Leu would go even harder so he could hear more of her noises ^^ I think he would overdo it a bit and would end up overstimulating her just to see if he can get new noises outta her

Flores: He would think his partner is so adorable for being honest! Flo would more than likely pick up on the fact that she was trying to suppress her noises, so once she stops doing that, it would make him so happy! He'll praise her over and over for being so good for him 💚

Mikka: Similar to Leu, he would just get more turned on and frantic. Once his partner loses control, then he'll follow and just devolve into erratic movements with hearts in his eyes. By the end of things, she'll probably be covered in double the marks he usually leaves

I don't want to see Luca anywhere near Sydney in season 4.

If sydcarmy is happening, I don't want no romantic or platonic (pft) storyline with Luca for Syd.

For one, it makes no sense to spend time on a relationship that's going to end. And highkey, I especially wouldn't like if a romance happened only for there to be parallels to Carmen, or Luca is presented as a good viable option for Syd, only for her to get with Carmen anyway.

At this point, I just want the show to give sydcarmy or get the hell away lol. I'm over the multi-channel gaslighting of it not being there in the show and the parallels that many hope are actually going to mean something by the time the show ends.

Syd, Marcus, Ebra, Tina, Gary (and Manny and Angel that won't be getting any screen time atp) haven't got the time I think they deserve (Syd in particular, for the second main character where tf was she in S3? S2 I understand, but for real wtf was that?). That time would be better spent on them rather than a short-lived, reprieve-centred fling for Syd imo.

I wrote a post a while ago regarding sydcarmy after S3 and I still more or less agree with what I said, but in terms of plot, if Sydney is going to struggle along with Carmen when she chooses to stay at the bear, that's perfectly fine. But I don't want anymore ambiguity, "up to interpretation" bs when it comes to them. At least give me the opportunity to wave a satisfied fist in the air with blatant, confirmed romance between them at least, so I can say "the sydcarmy shippers told yall so", even if I don't particularly want it the same way.

The catalysts

Claire and Shapiro play the same role in the Sydcarmy dynamic.

Showing them by contrast who they really wanna be with.

In other words: Trigger them. Be catalysts of change. This can obviously take many forms, but they will all end up having the same final result. Help the characters see what needs to change and then, they will use their own free wills to make those changes or not.

Whilst for Carmy Claire is the “healer” 👩‍⚕️ (no wonder she’s a Dr.) that is supposed to remind him how to love and be loved, or better yet, how to re-signify trauma so it doesn’t limit him anymore. More about her here 🔗

Shapiro, on the other hand, is the “wild card” 🃏for Syd.

Let me explain: A wild card “substitutes” any other card in the deck and you can use it (or not) as you please. And if you do choose to use it, gives you an opportunity to change the game, not necessarily winning it, but alter that hand. You have to use it wisely and in some hands is preferably not to use it at all actually, because you may end up wasting chances or getting over confident, etc. The joker is not by any means a guarantee of victory but a resource to be used when we are not dealt a good hand and it entails its risks. It can cause more harm than good. Or not. It’s a wild card. You never know…

The catch is that Shapiro can’t substitute The Bear for obvious reasons, I won’t even go there and Claire can’t fix/heal someone whose trauma is precisely triggered by her.

Why do you think that Carmy hit rock bottom while dating her and right after their breakup? The guy is raw, his wound is open.

So, Syd and Carmy, once their respective catalysts have served their catalystic purposes have to do the rest of the hard work. Make a choice, compromise, stick to it and face the consequences of such choice. This requires free will, hence: The “options” so they can exercise it, time and courage. Only in that way the change will come for both of them. It's a classic redemption arc.

What change will come? We don’t know yet. Yes we do ❤️

Bonus track: Luca, the bringer of light, is Carmy’s HEALED version. He was able to resignify his trauma already.

Luca is another catalyst for Syd that is supposed to shed light on what she truly wants and who she wants it from, the difference between Shapiro's role and Luca's is that Luca is a limited offer whereas Shapiro is offering her FOREVER (or at least unlimited).

I'd also dare to bet that with Luca there's a potential attraction there and with Shapiro, it's all business. In her case it's split. She can't find all she wants in just one guy. Except...

We all know who combines both for Syd and she's beginning to realize that too.

Leumin: Whiny, begging, teary-eyed bottom. He'd whimper so loudly while begging you to just touch him, please- even if it's with your feet, please just touch him. He's the type that could cum from having his nipples played with if he's riled up enough. Most likely to squirt, also-

Flores: Sweet praises, melodic gasps and moans with you on top of him. He actually likes having you on top, whether he's the sub or dom at the moment. Will let you know when he's enjoying something and will politely ask for more. Expect him to return the favor 💚

S3 WAS FOR SYDNEY TO REALIZE LOVING CARMY MAY NOT BE ENOUGH

I keep coming back to the scene about the margins

Sydney made a loving gesture towards Carmy, and at the end of the scene you can see the new menu (with bigger margins) in the floor, as a metaphor for Carmy ignoring/rejecting Sydney's love.

There is a part of me that firmly believes Sydney may have given up on Carmy as a love interest at the end of s3. Not because she doesn't care for him, but because at some point you have to be merciful to yourself and take a step forward. And that would be a powerful message, not only for her, but for the partners of people with mental health issues.

tw: light discussions of depression, abuse and suicide.

If this is a show that actually respects the essential steps on taking responsibility for your own mental health, then the message "love alone cannot save you" really fits in. imo, love is the motivation, it's not the cure. People who have depression, addictions, or feel lost, may feel that way regardless of whether they have people that love them in their lives or not. I was once depressed and suicidal, and I had an ok family and very loving friends, depression just disconnects you from those relationships, stops you from perceiving reality, including logic, your own feelings, and the people around you.

This scene in s3 was the opposite of the under the table scene at the end of s2. Under the table was connection, over the table is disconnection. These two people who deeply trust and care for one another are now at a point where communication cannot cut it/is possible anymore, nor is they saying "I am sorry" or making promises to do better.

This is Carmy's story, he may had let go of the idea that the abuse he endured at the hands of Chef David is something that he deserved (that beautiful moment he lets himself cry, recognizing his pain). But he needs to open himself up to new ways to deal with the wounds he still has.

If there was a time to "let it rip" in other words, express the wounds, let them heal, allow himself to love himself in order to move forward, that time is now. Despite how much Sydney loves him, there is no way that they could be happy if Carmy doesn't take ownership of his own battle. He is conscious enough (something that shows his extreme kindness and emphaty towards others) of when he is screwing up, he jus doesn't know how to forgive himself, he doesn't know he never failed (as a person, as a son) just because he could not live to Donna"s expectations.

When Sydney says "I am an accomplice" she may be talking about how she feels she cannot bring to the table whatever Carmy needs to improve. To her credit, that's simply because she feels nothing she has done has been able to help him. To bring Claire into the equation, she has heard everyone say, including Carmy, how great she is for him. She had many signs to indicate she was supposed to bury this feeling and how they would not affect Carmy, even if she only wanted to help him.

My friends have talked bout feeling similarly about me too at some point, when I ignored their calls or rejected help. Later, my friends also had very intensive personal struggles, and I would feel that whatever worked on me may not work in them.

If, in s4, Sydney takes a step back, holding back her feelings for Carmy, continuing to help him and the family, and thinking about her own future, I would prefer it.

The addition of Luca to the cast after that part in her apartment may be an indication of her pursuing another love interest.

I think it's a much healthier lesson, to show her taking care of her mental health too, after stretching herself so thin in s3. That also would force Carmy to work with what Sydney already gave him, which is plenty. He would have to recognize all the ways she already made him better. Let Carmy come back to her, where she is, she doesn't need to keep "trying to keep up with him"

I know I've been on about this for a while now and I'm being a hater but you're telling me SydCarmy was "always meant to be platonic" even though there are two seasons of writing making use of tried-and-true explicitly romantic tropes, themes and writing signals, and SydLuca is going to be romantic because...he was nice to her on screen for a few minutes?

I don't even care if people ship SydLuca, or if they just prefer it, but you can't honestly tell me that you believe Carmy was always meant to be a friend but Luca is an obvious love interest.

Just because Syd and Carmy haven't kissed or confessed their love to each other doesn't mean that isn't very obviously the direction this show is going. The Bear has already shown you who is endgame. It has shown you every episode of the show so far.

Honestly I really don't think The Bear fanbase understands this show or cares about these characters or the story being told here, which is unfortunate because this show is shockingly well-written in comparison to most shows right now, and we should be so grateful for it but all we're doing is complaining that the writers led us on by not making a ship canon fast enough. It's just. Sad.
